38. One Has to Experience and Enter into the Reality of the Truth of God’s Word so that He Can Be Perfected by God
In believing in God, one has to pursue the truth so that he can be saved, while in pursuing the truth to be perfected, one has to first enter into the reality of the truth of God’s word, which is most important. What does it really mean to enter into the reality of the truth? To enter into the reality of the truth means to bring God’s word into one’s practical daily living, that is, to practice and experience God’s word in one’s practical daily living. In everything one seeks the truth in God’s word, and he can do things and view things according to God’s word and can resolve actual problems according to the truths he understands, so that he can understand the truth and practice the truth and live out the reality of God’s word. Only in this way can he be transformed in his life disposition and can he become a person having the truth and humanity and be approved by God. Only if one enters into the reality of the truth can he truly understand the truth and gain the truth. Only if one enters into the reality of the truth can he truly know God’s work and thus obey God and know God. Only if one enters into the reality of the truth can he be transformed in his life disposition. So, entering into the reality of the truth is the way for one to be perfected, and whether one can be perfected by God mainly depends on whether he can enter into the reality of the truth. This is because “God is a practical God. All his works are practical, all the words he speaks are practical, and all the truths he expresses are practical. Except for God’s word, everything is vain, everything is nothing, and everything is unable to stand. Now the Holy Spirit will lead people to enter into God’s word. If one wants to pursue to enter into reality, he has to seek reality and know reality and then experience reality and live out reality. The more one knows reality, the more he will be able to tell whether what others say is reality; the more one knows reality, the fewer notions he will have; the more one experiences reality, the more he will know the deeds of the practical God, and the more easily he will cast off his corrupt satanic disposition; the more reality one has, the more he will know God, and the more he will loathe the flesh and love the truth; the more reality one has, the closer he will be to the standard required by God. Those gained by God are the ones who have reality and who know reality, and those gained by God are the ones who know God’s practical deeds through experiencing reality. The more you cooperate with God practically to subdue your body, the more you will be able to receive the working of the Holy Spirit, the more you will be able to gain reality, and the more you will be able to receive God’s revelation, and thus you will know more about God’s practical deeds. If you can live in the present light of the Holy Spirit, you will be more clear about the present ways of practice, and you will be more able to cast off your former religious notions and old practices. Now the focus is just on reality. The more reality one has, the more clearly he will know the truth, and the better he will understand God’s will. Reality can prevail over all letters and doctrines and over all theoretical knowledge. The more one pays attention to reality, the more he can truly love God and thirst for God’s word.”
To measure whether one has the reality of the truth, we must see whether he has the true experience and knowledge of God’s word, which is the key to whether or not he can live out the reality of God’s word. Over their several years of believing in God, many people have been rushing about working hard, but no true transformation of their life disposition can be seen in them. The reason is that they cannot experience and practice God’s word in a down-to-earth manner, but rather aim too high and pay no attention to practicing the truth and even detest the reality of the truth. These people thought that since they understood many letters and doctrines of the Bible, they naturally had the reality of the truth. As a result, they all fail and fall. After self-examination, they come to know that what they spoke and talked before are all empty letters and doctrines, without any reality of the truth. This is the inevitable consequence of paying no attention to experiencing and practicing God’s word. The understanding of the truth is the result achieved by experiencing and practicing God’s word, and much more the fruit gained through the working of the Holy Spirit and one’s cooperation. No matter how many spiritual doctrines people understand by their cleverness, they are not the realities of the truth, and in the end they still cannot stand and will naturally show their true colors in trials: Some people fail and fall after being arrested in a persecution, some people are exposed because they are never able to do the practical works in performing their duty, and some people fall in trials and refinings because they lose their faith when having no working of the Holy Spirit. If one has no truth, he has no real life and power; if one has no truth, he has no way to perform his duty properly; if one has no truth, he has no way to live out the likeness of a real man. When he stays with others, he cannot benefit others. No matter where he goes, he cannot glorify God but can only become a laughingstock to satan and be loathed by God. Once encountering a persecution or a trial, he will show his true colors and be eliminated. This will fulfill God’s words: “Only if you have the truth can you travel all over the world. If you have no truth, even your family will not be convinced of you, not to mention many religious people. If you have no truth, you are snowflakes floating. If you have the truth, you will be happy and released, and no one can attack you. Any theory, however powerful, cannot overthrow the truth. With the truth, you can make heaven and earth turned upside down and the mountains toppled and the seas overturned; without the truth, the city can be overthrown by maggots. This is an obvious fact.”
In experiencing God’s work, most of God’s chosen people have now seen that God’s work is indeed saving man and perfecting man, so they are all willing to pursue the truth and are all preparing good deeds. This is a mark that God’s chosen people have begun to enter into the reality of the truth. However, although many people are willing to pursue the truth, they do not know how to practice pursuing the truth or know what sufferings they should undergo and what price they should pay in pursuing the truth. Thus, it is very difficult for them to enter into the reality of the truth. All those who have the will to pursue the truth should understand this: Pursuing the truth must be based on eating and drinking God’s word and practicing and experiencing God’s word; in addition, it requires one to meet three conditions: first, one must learn to seek the truth in everything and should by no means walk according to his flesh and do things by his own will; second, when one understands the truth, he must practice the truth, and even if he has to undergo sufferings and pay a price, he should try his best to adhere to the principles of the truth; third, one should accept prunings and dealings and trials and refinings, which is even more to experience the judgment and chastisement of God’s word. Only those who meet these three conditions are the ones who truly pursue the truth. In pursuing the truth, one must start with experiencing and practicing God’s word conscientiously. Only in this way can he receive the guidance and the perfecting of the working of the Holy Spirit. Only if one receives the working of the Holy Spirit can he have the true experience and knowledge of God’s work and can he understand the truth and gain the truth in God’s word. Then, in performing his duty, he will be able to obey God and satisfy God and be able to preach the gospel and testify God effectively, so that God’s chosen people will receive sustenance and supply and so that everyone will receive benefit and help. When one has the reality of the truth, in doing things he will be able to seek and touch God’s will and be willing to practice the truth and adhere to the principles. So, in performing his duty, he will not perform it perfunctorily and carelessly but will be able to do things by principles and according to the truth. If one adheres to the principles of the truth all the time, he will have a heart of loving God and satisfying God and will be able to perform his duty to the standard and be approved by God. All these are the results achieved through experiencing and practicing God’s word and receiving the working of the Holy Spirit. If one cannot experience and practice God’s word conscientiously, he will never receive the working of the Holy Spirit. Without the working of the Holy Spirit, one will never be able to practice the truth and obey God, and will never have a heart of truly loving God and satisfying God. Therefore, one’s entering into the reality of the truth is altogether the result he achieves through experiencing and practicing God’s word and receiving the working of the Holy Spirit. If one does not exert effort in experiencing and practicing God’s word, he can never receive the working of the Holy Spirit or God’s perfecting, because God searches everything. Whether one has the working of the Holy Spirit has shown everything. So, in pursuing the truth, one has to start with experiencing and practicing God’s word and start with quieting his heart before God and having true fellowship with God, and in every word of God he has to find the way of experiencing, practicing, and entering into it. When one knows how to eat and drink and practice God’s word, he will naturally feel that he has ways to enter into life, and he will receive the working of the Holy Spirit and enjoy God’s presence. If one does not experience and practice God’s word, he can never truly understand the truth and enter into reality, he is not truly experiencing and obeying God’s work, he is definitely not a person who loves the truth and pursues the truth, and he will have no way to enter the right track of believing in God and can never be saved. This is an undeniable fact. Especially for the new believers, after understanding the truths concerning the vision, they should start with experiencing and practicing God’s word and should pay attention to seeking the truth and practicing the truth. “A thousand-li journey starts with the first step.” If one wants to be saved and perfected in believing in God, he has to start with experiencing and practicing God’s word so that he can gradually enter into the reality of the truth and can gain the truth and the life and perform his duty to the standard. This is the only way to enter into the reality of the truth and the only way to be saved and perfected in believing in God.
Pursuing the truth to be perfected is the way of success walked by Peter. That one can truly pursue the truth is not an easy thing. On the one hand, he has to have the will to pursue the truth to be perfected by God, and on the other hand, he has to possess the will to undergo sufferings and pay the price for gaining the truth. If he does not have the will to undergo sufferings and pay the price, it will be very difficult for him to achieve results in pursuing the truth. We all can see that many people who have gifts and qualities like Paul have failed and fallen, and some of them have even become antichrists and are punished by God. Everyone should examine how much knowledge he has gained about the failure in belief in God of those who walk the way of antichrists and how many lessons he has drawn from it, and examine how much knowledge he has gained about Peter’s pursuing the truth to be perfected and how much experience of success he has gained from it, and then consider what he lacks, what he should equip himself with, what sufferings he should undergo, and what price he should pay, which he must be clear about. Only then will he easily get on the way of pursuing the truth to be perfected. If one, in believing in God, never pays attention to experiencing and practicing God’s word and entering into the reality of the truth, with him, pursuing the truth will become an empty talk. If one cannot eat and drink and experience and practice God’s word conscientiously in believing in God, he can never enter into the reality of the truth. As for such a person, even if he is willing to pursue the truth, he cannot be perfected by God. Therefore, in eating and drinking God’s word, one has to practice accepting God’s judgment and chastisement and has to practice accepting prunings and dealings, and in all kinds of trials and refinings, he has to practice seeking the truth and accepting the truth and endeavoring to meet God’s requirements. Then he will be able to truly know himself and be able to understand God’s will and God’s requirements for man. As long as one experiences God’s word for several years, he will understand many truths and possess the discerning ability, and he will be able to discern and see clearly what it is to obey God, what it is to resist God, and what it is to truly testify God and serve God, will know what he should do to be an honest person and perform properly the duty he should perform as a man, and will be able to realize that only if he truly loves God can he carry out God’s will and live out a most meaningful life. Only if one enters into the reality of these truths can he perform his duty to the standard, and can he truly testify God and serve God and get on the way of pursuing the truth to be perfected by God. If one cannot truly accept God’s judgment and chastisement and pruning and dealing, it will be very difficult for him to understand the truth and enter into the reality, and he cannot truly know himself. Then, no matter what duty he performs, it will be very difficult for him to meet God’s requirements; even if he serves God, he will be a person who resists God. Many people become false leaders and antichrists simply because they cannot truly pursue the truth. So, they do not have any reality of the truth. Once they have position and gain power, they will act unruly, set themselves high above others, lord it over others, and indulge in the blessings of position, and eventually they will be loathed and rejected by God’s chosen people, failing and falling. Aren’t such lessons enough? Why do people still persist in their mistaken ways? If one believes in God just in order to reign and rule and enjoy the blessings of position, what meaning does this have? This is what selfish, base, and evil people do and is just the contemptible desire of those who walk the way of antichrists. If one truly understands the truth, why can he not practice the truth and do some practical works? If one truly has conscience and sense, he should do some practical things for God’s chosen people. For example, he can write a good testimony article about his experience, benefiting and edifying countless God’s chosen people; he can resolve the actual problems of God’s chosen people with the truth, causing them to understand the truth and enter into reality earlier; he can purge all the antichrists and wicked men from the church for the sake of cleansing the church and protecting God’s chosen people, so that they may enter the right track of believing in God earlier. Aren’t all these the proper things one should do for God’s chosen people? Does one need position and power to write a good testimony article about his experience? Must one have position and power to resolve some actual problems for God’s chosen people and fellowship about the truth to sustain the weak ones? Absolutely not. Only false leaders and antichrists pursue position and power. Without position and power, those who truly have the reality of the truth can perform their duty properly all the same, can practice the truth and prepare good deeds all the same, can do practical things for God’s chosen people all the same, and can give sermons and write articles to testify God all the same, and they can definitely be perfected by God. As long as one has the reality of the truth, he will prosper and will surely be approved and supported by God’s chosen people. This is undoubted. Because God is righteous and God is most fair to everyone, if God wants to perfect someone, no one can hinder that. Whoever has the reality of the truth will be greatly used by God sooner or later, and whoever does not have the reality of the truth will be exposed and eliminated sooner or later. These are ordained by God and are also the rule and the will of Heaven, which no one can change.
God’s chosen people should understand that in pursuing the truth to be perfected, one has to undergo many sufferings and pay much price. Especially in accepting the judgment and chastisement and pruning and dealing of God’s word, if one does not have the true experience, it will never do. And if one does not experience many trials and refinings, he can never have any great gain. In pursuing to gain the truth and be perfected, one has to undergo the sufferings of all kinds of trials and refinings. Only in this way can his life disposition be transformed. Without shedding many tears and having a true repentance, it is hard for one to have true joy and comfort, and without experiencing several failures and fallings, it is hard for one to stand in the true way. God’s chosen people all can see a fact: Pursuing the truth to be perfected, this right way of human life, is indeed hard and rough, and in order to perfect God’s chosen people, God maneuvers the great red dragon, satan, and evil spirits to do service. God’s chosen people are not only confronted with the hunting and persecution of the great red dragon, but also confronted with the deception, disturbance, restraint, and suppression of the various kinds of evil spirits and antichrists. If one does not have the will to pursue the truth, it will be very difficult for him to stand. However, as long as one relies on God, has faith, and believes in God’s almightiness and sovereignty and in God’s word accomplishing everything, and perseveres in eating and drinking God’s word and in pursuing the truth in performing his duty, after experiencing for several years, he will surely have a favorable turn and see God’s blessing. How much effort one exerts, how much he will gain. As long as one pursues the truth and attends to his proper duty, he will surely achieve success, because the truth does not treat anyone unfairly and God is most fair in treating everyone. We all can see that in the churches everywhere, some people who did not pursue the truth before begin to be interested in the truth now, some people who performed their duty unwillingly before begin to have a sense of responsibility, some people who did not have any burden for the church work and the entering into life of God’s chosen people before begin to have a burden now because of understanding the truth and having practical experiences, and some people who experienced many failures and fallings before also begin to examine and know themselves and are preparing good deeds now. This is sufficient to show that as long as people persevere in eating and drinking God’s word and fellowshipping about the truth, unconsciously they feel that their heart and spirit have revived and they have begun to understand the truth and can see through many things, unconsciously they have cast off a lot of corrupt disposition and can live out some human likeness, unconsciously they feel that they can practice some truths and have had some reality of believing in God and obeying God, they now can fully do what they thought they could not possibly do before, those who always shouted before that it was difficult to love God also feel that loving God can absolutely be achieved by those who have conscience and sense, those who did not have any obedience before also can practice some truths now, and those who always performed their duty perfunctorily and carelessly before also feel that without conscience and sense, one is unworthy to live before God, and thus gradually reduce their perfunctoriness and carelessness and have begun to perform their duty faithfully. These facts can fully prove that God’s work indeed can transform man, save man, and perfect man, and that as long as one perseveres in eating and drinking God’s word and fellowshipping about the truth, perseveres in performing his duty and spending for God, always strives to meet God’s requirements, and is not disheartened no matter how many times he fails and falls, he will see a favorable turn, unconsciously he will understand many truths and see through many things and know how to be a man, his viewpoints on things and his outlook on life and his values will all undergo a change, and he will feel that he has indeed gained a lot in experiencing God’s end-time work. Truly, “How much effort one exerts, how much he will gain”! So, whoever is passive should never be passive anymore and should have faith in God’s work. You should not have become passive and hopeless because of having expressed too many corruptions or having failed and fallen. As long as you persevere in obeying God’s work, you can certainly achieve the result that you enter into the reality of the truth. If one always concludes that he cannot make it, gives himself up as hopeless, and is passive and perfunctory, he will easily be ruined by himself. As long as one endeavors unremittingly to strive forward and cooperate with God, there will surely be a favorable turn. Man’s end is God’s beginning, and one will not get lost if he depends on God. If after you experience and practice God’s word for another period of time, you reach the point where your heart can love God, you will see the hope of success of being perfected by God. This is because as long as one’s heart can love God, one will be able to perform his duty willingly, will be able to not mind hard work, price, or reward, will not complain or regret no matter how many sufferings he undergoes, will be able to fight bravely all his life for loving God and carrying out God’s will, will be able to pay any price and be willing and never regret even if he has to lay down his life, and will be able to perform his duty properly and be faithful to God and obey God absolutely. This is precisely the true transformation of one’s life disposition. It is thus clear that as long as one has a heart of truly loving God, he is a person who has the transformation of his life disposition. This is completely the result achieved through experiencing and practicing God’s word. Those who truly pursue the truth have to exert effort in experiencing and practicing God’s word so that they will make some achievements. Whoever does not experience and practice God’s word will never gain the truth and never be transformed in his life disposition. This is absolute. He who has gained the truth has indeed been saved and perfected. Whoever has lived out the likeness of a real man has gained eternal life, which is much more precious and important than the fleshly life, and is really too valuable and meaningful. It thus can be seen that the more one experiences God’s work, the greater his faith in God will be, and the more he understands the truth, the more truly and purely he will love God. Unconsciously, he will have been perfected by God. When one has gained the truth and known God, he will have completely broken away from satan’s influence of darkness and been released and free.
Now is the crucial period when the kingdom gospel is spread. Because the evil satanic forces refuse to resign themselves to defeat and are putting up a deathbed struggle, people need to have a great faith and endurance in this adverse environment, and if they do not pursue the truth, it will not easy for them to stand firm. So, in this adverse environment, God’s chosen people must pay attention to eating and drinking God’s word and equipping themselves with the truth and must practice spiritual devotions and often examine their ways and doings, and they also should know their lack and have a grasp of their true states, and equip themselves well with the truth and adjust their mentality as soon as possible. Only then can they keep performing their duty properly and fulfill their ultimate faithfulness for the spreading of the kingdom gospel. If in the adverse environment one only endures and waits but does not pursue the truth, and he muddles along, just waiting for such an environment to be over so as to realize his ambition and work energetically then, he will miss the good opportunity of pursuing the truth to be perfected by God. This is truly dragging out an ignoble existence and sitting still waiting for death. The more adverse the environment is, the more one should equip himself with the truth and adjust his mentality while waiting for the enemy to exhaust itself. This is an excellent chance of examining himself, doing spiritual devotions, and equipping himself with the truth. Many people who do not pursue the truth are exposed in the adverse environment. These people only know to be zealous and busy outwardly but do not equip themselves with the truth, and they have never entered into life. Once they stop their footsteps in working, they fall powerless. Without the truth, they eventually cannot stand. This is an inevitable result of not pursuing the truth. So, the more adverse the environment is, the more one needs to practice spiritual devotions and equip himself with the truth. Only if one understands the truth can he touch God’s will, can he effectively resolve problems according to the truth, and can he do the practical works properly and perform his duty to the standard. This is because many problems can only be resolved through understanding and gaining the truth, and it is not that the result can be achieved just by teaching others to observe regulations. The fundamental problems cannot be resolved by observing regulations, so simply by observing regulations and paying attention to outward practices, one has no way to resolve people’s problems in entering into life and has no way to lead them to enter into the reality of the truth. If one has bustled about for years by being zealous, but he cannot at all lead God’s chosen people into the reality of the truth, and he simply observes regulations and goes through the motions, doing many futile works, how can his performing duty like this be approved by God? As to those who truly have the reality of the truth, no matter what duty they perform, they can seek the truth in everything and can pay attention to practicing resolving problems with the truth, and they are no longer arrogant and self-right and no longer act arbitrarily and make decisions on their own but let the truth rule and let God’s word rule, convincing others by the truth, and when encountering arguments or different opinions, they can quiet before God to seek the truth and can patiently fellowship about the truth to resolve the problems, so that God’s chosen people all can see that in God’s family, it is truly the truth, God’s word, that rules, and not a certain leader or somebody that rules. Only those who perform their duty like this are ones who truly fear God and will surely be approved by God’s chosen people. This shows that only if one has the reality of the truth is he a person who truly serves God, and if one does not have the reality of the truth, he cannot resolve the problems with the truth. If one is not a person who truly pursues the truth, he will not easily quiet before God to seek the truth in everything but will always adopt the practice of what he himself says counts and always oppress others with power and position, causing others to detest and loathe him. He is definitely a person who walks the way of antichrists. If he does not truly repent, he will become an out-and-out antichrist and thus be eliminated, which is beyond doubt.
Why are some leaders and workers still walking the way of antichrists and still pursuing position, fame, and gain and working to preserve their position and influence? If they are truly ones who pursue the truth, they should do some practical works for the entering into life of God’s chosen people and do some practical works for the spreading of the kingdom gospel, and should at least write several edifying testimony articles about their experiences that can truly testify God’s work and can have the difficulties of God’s chosen people in entering into life resolved. Only such are ones who truly have the reality of the truth. To be real leaders and workers of God’s chosen people, they should pay attention to resolving the actual difficulties of God’s chosen people with the truth according to God’s word, be able to deal with all kinds of actual problems in the church fairly, and be able to treat people fairly, and should by no means restrain or suppress God’s chosen people. This is what the church leaders and workers at every level should at least live up to. If one is truly a pursuer of the truth, what he does will surely be approved and supported by God’s chosen people. If one truly has some reality of the truth, he will by no means put on an arrogant, conceited, and superior air in every aspect and will by no means speak arrogant words to restrain others, restrict others, bind others, or condemn others at will, but rather he will be gentle with God’s chosen people and practice helping and exhorting them with love, guide them to understand the truth and practice the truth, and fellowship about the truth with them to resolve their problems and difficulties with love and achieve results. Only such is a good leader or worker of God’s chosen people. Now some leaders and workers do not have any reality of the truth, but they are arrogant and conceited, speak arrogant words, and have no regard for God. They do not have God’s chosen people in their heart at all, and they do not do things for God’s chosen people or perform their duty in order to requite God’s love. They are already on the brink of danger. Such people have already strayed into the way of antichrists. If they do not repent, they will all be ones rejected and eliminated by God. Whether one can pursue the truth and be perfected by God mainly depends on whether he truly has a heart of fearing God and whether he truly has a heart of loving God. If he does not meet these two conditions, he cannot be perfected by God. If one does not have a heart of loving God, he can never perform his duty to the standard. This is because if one does not have a heart of loving God, it is certain that the way he walks is not the way of pursuing the truth to be perfected, but rather he walks the way of antichrists unconsciously and involuntarily. He who does not have a heart of loving God definitely has the following seven manifestations:
1. He never prays to God and seeks the truth, and he does the church works by his own will and desires and spares no efforts to show his ability and talent.
2. He never exalts God or testifies God but only testifies the church, testifies himself, and exhibits himself, attempting to stand out among others.
3. He never fellowships about God’s will or requirements, much less fellowships about how to know God, but only speaks letters and doctrines to restrain others and have others observe regulations.
4. He does not fear God at all and always treats the church works as his own enterprises, and he strives, works hard, and rustles about for position, fame, and gain.
5. In performing his duty, he never speaks his knowledge of himself or examines himself, but rather he is hypocritical and spares no efforts to pretend himself and pursues to be adored and followed by others.
6. He always inwardly envies and hates those who pursue the truth and have reality, and suppresses and excludes them, and he even frames innocent people. He is truly a wicked man.
7. He can never love God in his heart, and he works to satisfy his own selfish desires in every aspect and always wants to obtain power to lord it over others and enjoy the blessings of position.
All those who have the above seven manifestations are ones who do not love God at all in their heart. It thus can be seen that the way walked by all those who do not love God is the way of antichrists, and they will inevitably be exposed and eliminated in the end. God’s end-time work is a work of saving man and perfecting man. All the wicked people who cannot be saved will be exposed and eliminated, and thus all people will be after their kinds. Why is it that many people can do all kinds of evil and are exposed when having position and power? It is not position that ruins them. After all, there is something wrong with the substance of their nature. It is true that position indeed can expose man. However, if one is a kindhearted person, no matter how high his position is, he will not do all kinds of evil. Some people, when having no position, do no evil and look like good people outwardly. If they have position, they can do all kinds of evil. This means that the wicked men are showing their true colors. Because some evil deeds can only be done through position and power, if one does not have power, even if he wants to do evil, it is not easy for him to do. So, position exposes all wicked men. If one has position and power but he can perform his duty faithfully and never do evil, this is rare and commendable, and he is definitely a good person. If he can also be faithful to God, serve God, and do practical things for God’s chosen people dutifully and conscientiously, he is a person who genuinely loves God and who is completely after God’s heart. Now there are still some leaders and workers who can do all kinds of evil when having position and power. They mainly have three manifestations:
1. They cannot do practical works according to the work arrangements, nor do they pursue the truth, and they perform their duty perfunctorily and carelessly and do not have a heart of loving God at all.
2. They cannot select and use people according to the principles of the truth but select and use and promote those who defend them so as to extend their power and establish their independent kingdom.
3. They can even envy and hate, suppress, and exclude those who pursue the truth, frame innocent people, and practice “letting those who comply with me thrive and those who resist me perish.”
All those who have these three kinds of evil deeds are completely the wicked men who are ruling and the antichrists who are showing their true colors. God’s chosen people must depose and remove them. This is very beneficial to the spreading of the kingdom gospel, is kicking away a stumbling block and removing an formidable obstacle for God’s chosen people to enter the right track of believing in God, and is completely getting rid of evildoers for people. This is also one of the practical works that the leaders and workers at every level must do.
Now most of the leaders and workers are the elected ones, but the interim leaders and workers who are promoted or selected and used in the period when the environment is adverse are only on probation. In the future, all leaders and workers must be produced through election, and in no way should anyone be allowed to promote or select and use anybody by himself. Undeniably, still a small number among the leaders and workers who are false leaders or antichrists have been exposed. These people have believed in God for many years, and after becoming leaders or workers, they do not practice the truth and do not have reality but want others to approve of them and be convinced by them; they themselves do evil and do not attend to their proper duties but do not allow others to expose and rebuke them; they themselves do not pursue the truth, do not prepare good deeds, and make pretenses and practice deceit, but do not allow others to oppose and reject them; they themselves do not love God and do not do practical works but want to be leaders forever so as to be over others and indulge in the blessings of position. Just as it is said, “Lead the life of a whore and expect a monument to one’s chastity.” They are truly the worthy progeny of the great red dragon, which has done a lot of unrighteousness and committed monstrous crimes but wants to pose as the great, the glorious, and the correct, and is already so shameless as to have no qualification not to step down and move over but does not give up until people make revolution to overthrow it and send it to the block. Isn’t this just the true face of antichrists the devils? If they are truly ones who pursue the truth, they at least should prepare many good deeds, so that others will see that they indeed have some humanity; if they truly possess the reality of the truth, they should do more practical works and perform the duty of the leaders or workers properly. Only then can they be counted as truly having conscience and sense. If they truly have a heart of loving God, they should resolve more actual problems for God’s chosen people and spare no efforts to lead them into the reality of the truth for them to enter the right track of believing in God, so as to comfort God’s heart; if they are truly ones who love God, they should endeavor to do the work of spreading the kingdom gospel well to carry out God’s will, so as to repay God’s love. If a leader or a worker possesses none of the realities of these several aspects, then he is truly a person who has no conscience and sense, and he is not worthy to be a leader or a worker. This is because if one does not love God, he is unworthy to serve God, and without the reality of the truth, one is unworthy to be a leader or a worker. This is a fact, and no one can deny it.
Those who truly pursue the truth should know what actually one has to possess to be after God’s heart. In the Age of the Law, God said that David was a man after God’s heart. From the Bible, we all can see that David always had a desire to build a temple for God, which was rare and precious and was unique among corrupt mankind. Building a temple for God was a very meaningful thing and was completely after God’s heart. It was really precious that a created being could understand and care for God’s will like this. Although we, this group of people who were born in the end time, have been corrupted by satan most deeply, we have the fortune to see all the words God expresses in the end time and receive so much. Shouldn’t we even more care for God’s will? Building a temple for God was for the purpose that the whole mankind could come before God to worship God, which was the result achieved through carrying out God’s will. All of us who serve God even more should know: To carry out God’s will, we have to pursue the truth in a down-to-earth manner and be perfected by God. This is because only if we possess the reality of the truth can we have the power to fellowship about the truth and resolve problems and bring people before God, causing them to lay a foundation in the true way and enter the right track of believing in God; only if we possess the reality of the truth can we have the power to practice exalting God and testifying God, to clearly and explicitly testify God’s work and testify how God saves man and perfects man, enabling all people to truly love God, obey God, know God, serve God, and worship God; only if we possess the reality of the truth can we have the power to do well the work of spreading the kingdom gospel, so that on the one hand, all the genuine believers in God in the religious world will be conquered, and on the other hand, the kingdom gospel will be spread to the pagans, causing all those who acknowledge there is a God and who love the truth to return before God’s throne and God’s will to be carried out on earth. Only if one has been perfected by God can he carry out God’s will. This is beyond doubt. Those who pursue the truth must have the will like David who desired nothing else but worked his heart out, did things conscientiously and earnestly, and fought all his life only for the fulfillment of his great aspiration to build a temple for God. We group of people who are saved by God through experiencing God’s end-time work even more should pursue to be perfected by God and live only to serve God and carry out God’s will all our life and have no other desire. To truly testify God and serve God, one has to become a person who loves God. Only those who love God can be fit for God’s use. In the Age of the Grace, the Lord Jesus said: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” God does the work to perfect man in the end time just to achieve such results. Those God perfects are all ones who love God. If one has entered into the reality of the truth, he can truly love God and can love his neighbor as himself. “Loving your neighbor as yourself” means that one must have love for God’s chosen people and can fulfill his responsibility for them, being able to lead, shepherd, and protect them for them to enter the right track of believing in God. Only those who truly love God have true love for God’s chosen people. This is a fact. If one does not have love for God’s chosen people, does not treat them by principles, and cannot treat them fairly, he is definitely not a person who loves God. Only a person who genuinely loves God can love his neighbor as himself; he who cannot love God can never truly love his neighbor; he who can love God’s chosen people can surely love God. These are absolute. It is so meaningful and practical for one to love God. Loving God is so great! Only if one has a life of loving God can he live out a most meaningful life. This is God’s greatest blessing to mankind.
In pursuing the truth to be perfected by God, one has to pay attention to performing his duty to the standard. If one has no reality of the truth, he will have no way to perform his duty to the standard and will not be able to bear a good and resounding testimony for God. This is a fact. So, if one wants to perform his duty to the standard, he has to often equip himself with the truth to make up for his lack. Only in this way can he truly enter into life and bear a good and resounding testimony and be perfected by God in working. If one does not understand the truth, no matter what duty he performs, he will not be able to achieve obvious results. Only if he constantly equips himself with the truth and practices God’s word can he gradually perform his duty to the standard. The more one has the reality of the truth, the more neatly and easily he performs his duty. This is because he can see through the substance and the cruxes of the problems, and so he can resolve the problems easily and happily, and whether he speaks or whether he does things, he can hit the key and crucial points. Therefore, obvious results can be seen, and he does not appear busy at all. In doing things, he who has the reality of the truth does have the principles and the power and can do the practical works properly and be after God’s heart. Only thus can he truly be approved by God’s chosen people and convince them. In a word, God’s chosen people all should understand that the worse the environment is, the more we should equip ourselves with the truth, and that the more busily we work in the daytime, the more we should do spiritual devotions and examine ourselves at night. If you practice doing spiritual devotions while working, you will naturally achieve good results. Those who can only work but cannot do spiritual devotions certainly cannot achieve good results in their work, and they easily deviate, make detours, and do futile works. Actually, people have already experienced all these; why can they still not do spiritual devotions and make self-examination? Whether one can bear a good and resounding testimony in the expanding of the kingdom hinges on whether he can truly pursue the truth, whether he can know the substance of his nature, whether he can examine if the way he walks is right, whether he can truly repent, whether he can accept the truth, and whether he can get on Peter’s way of being perfected. These are the most fundamental and crucial things. Whether one has a true transformation of his life disposition must be measured according to God’s eleven requirements for God’s chosen people: “1. If you are truly a service-doer, can you do service for me faithfully without any perfunctoriness and passive elements? 2. If you learn that I have never appreciated you, can you stay and do service for me all your life? 3. If you have exerted much effort but I am still very indifferent toward you, can you continue to do things for me in obscurity? 4. If after you have expended something for me, your small request is not satisfied by me, will you be discouraged and disappointed with me and even be full of resentments and shout abuse? 5. If you have been very faithful and have much love for me all along, but you suffer the torment of illness, poverty in life, and also desertion by your relatives and friends or any misfortune in life, can your faithfulness and love to me continue? 6. If all that you imagine in your heart is incompatible with what I do, how should you walk your future way? 7. If you fail to receive anything you hope for, can you continue to be my follower? 8. If you never understand the purpose and significance of my work, can you be an obedient person, not passing judgment on or drawing conclusions about it at will? 9. Can you treasure all the words and works I speak and do when I am together with man? 10. Can you be my faithful follower and be willing to suffer for me all your life even if you will gain nothing? 11. Can you for my sake not consider, plan, or prepare your future path of living? These questions are my last requirements for you. I hope that you all will answer me.”
The above eleven requirements of God are the true testimonies of God’s chosen people being saved and perfected, and they are also the results people must achieve in pursuing the truth in various trials. If one meets these eleven requirements, he will naturally bear a good and resounding testimony. If one wants to know whether he actually has the transformation of his life disposition, as long as he checks himself against these eleven standards, he will naturally know it. If one meets these eleven standards, he is a person who has the reality of the truth, and undoubtedly he is also a person who has the transformation of his life disposition. The more one experiences God’s word, the more he will understand the truth, and the more he will have the reality of the truth. If one always strives to meet God’s requirements like this, he will definitely receive the leading and perfecting of the working of the Holy Spirit, and in the final trials, he will be able to achieve the results of the eleven standards required by God, and will naturally bear a good and resounding testimony. Now over hundred passages of God’s word have been sorted out for people to use in doing spiritual devotions and making self-examination. Only if one has the true experience of life in the over hundred passages of God’s word and thus understands the truth and enters into reality can he assuredly perform his duty to the standard, and can he bear a good and resounding testimony in the spreading of the kingdom gospel and be approved by God.
In order that God’s chosen people can all enter into the reality of the truth sooner and be saved, the over hundred primary passages of God’s word that God’s chosen people must practice and enter into are listed now for you to eat and drink and experience. If you can be familiar with them and recite them and engrave them in your heart, it will be better, your life will grow faster, and it will definitely be very beneficial to your entering into the reality of the truth. These words of God are all words of God one must experience and practice to enter into the reality of the truth, are the reality of the truth that God’s chosen people must enter into to be saved, and are the required course and basic course for people in pursuing life. These over hundred passages of God’s word are extremely important to the entering into life of God’s chosen people. If God’s chosen people constantly experience and practice these words of God, they will definitely be able to enter into the reality of the truth and be truly transformed in their life disposition. If in the church life, in this environment of the truth, one perseveres in eating and drinking God’s word, perseveres in fellowshipping about the truth, pays attention to experiencing and practicing God’s word, accepts prunings and dealings, and in everything exercises to seek and practice the truth and obey God, unconsciously he will understand many truths and possess the discerning ability, and he will be able to see through the substance of problems, will have the true knowledge of himself, and will see that his corrupt disposition is gradually cast off. When one can normally and consciously practice the truth and obey God, his life disposition will have begun to be transformed. If one has a heart of truly loving God, he will naturally be able to practice the truth and obey God and live out the likeness of a real man. Besides, there are inevitably false leaders and antichrists among the church leaders and workers at every level. It is very important to break away from the bondage and control of satan’s influence on the way of pursuing to be saved and perfected. Before gaining the truth, everyone easily wavers, does not know what course to take, and fails to find his true place, and it is very easy for him to be deceived by various kinds of evil spirits and antichrists, and it is very easy for him to be deceived, controlled, and used by men. Only by understanding the truth and gaining the truth can he thoroughly resolve these problems. As long as one prays to God, relies on God, and builds a normal relationship with God, and perseveres in eating and drinking God’s word, in practicing the truth, and in performing his duty properly, he will certainly receive the working of the Holy Spirit and be approved by God. As long as one perseveres in living the church life, is of one heart and one mind with all those who truly believe in God and pursue the truth, practices mutual love and mutual help between him and them, and learns from their strong points to offset his weaknesses, he will be fully able to understand the truth and enter into reality and will stand the testimony and be approved by God, and he will not at all need to adore others, flatter others, or attach himself to the powerful, much less need to maintain his relationship with others by satanic philosophies. If one, in believing in God, only pays attention to pursuing the truth to receive the working of the Holy Spirit and have God’s presence and to practicing mutual love between him and those who pursue the truth and coordinating with them harmoniously, he absolutely can be saved. Only those who do not love the truth resort to crooked means, form gangs, and use each other, and they pursue position and influence, trying by every possible means to snare and control others and stubbornly walking the way of antichrists. Such people will be exposed and cursed sooner or later. He who does not pursue the truth will fall and fail eventually, and he who is unjust is doomed to destruction. These are decided by God’s righteous disposition.
God’s chosen people should be clear that in the first three to five years of one’s believing in God, that is, before one has gained the truth, he really has too many difficulties of various kinds, and he can only resolve them by eating and drinking God’s word often and seeking the truth in everything. When one truly understands the truth, he will naturally be able to discern the disturbance and the deception of various kinds of evil spirits and false leaders and antichrists and be able to resolutely be of one heart and one mind with the pursuers of the truth and stand on God’s side and be of one heart and one mind with God, and he will be completely clear in his heart about how to follow God and serve God and how to resolve problems by relying on the truth of God’s word to truly obey God and live by God’s word. These are the results eventually achieved by eating and drinking God’s word and pursuing the truth. When God’s chosen people have truly entered into the reality of the truth, all their difficulties in believing in God will have been resolved. As they have the truth, they will not be bothered by anything, and the evil forces of satan and antichrists will have no way to deceive or control them anymore. This is because only the truth can transform man, perfect man, and be man’s life, and when they have gained the truth, they will be truly free and released. All those who have entered into the reality of the truth will have truly entered the right track of believing in God, and all those who pursue to genuinely love God will be able to get on the way of being perfected by God.
Over One Hundred Passages of God’s Word that God’s chosen People Must Experience, Practice, and Enter into (133 passages)
1 If what you pursue is the truth, what you practice is the truth, and what you gain is the transformation of your disposition, the way you walk is the right way. If what you pursue is fleshly blessings, what you practice is the truths in your own notions, and you are not transformed in your disposition in the least, do not obey the God in the flesh in the slightest, and still live in vagueness, then your pursuit will surely bring you into hell, because the way you walk is the way to failure. Whether you will be perfected or eliminated depends on your own pursuit. That is, “Whether one will succeed depends on the way he walks.”
2 After a person steps onto the way of being perfected, his old disposition can be transformed, his life grows continuously, and he enters deeper into the truth gradually, loathes the world, and feels loathing for all those who do not pursue the truth, and especially he not only feels loathing for himself, but even more has a clear and plain knowledge of himself. He is willing to live by the truth and take pursuing the truth as his goal, is unwilling to live in his own mind and thinking, feels loathing for man’s self-rightness, haughtiness, and self-conceit, can speak with proper limits, has discernment and wisdom when encountering things, and has faithfulness and obedience to God. When he experiences a chastisement and judgment, he not only does not become passive or weak, but thanks the chastisement and judgment, and he cannot leave God’s chastisement and judgment, and can be kept through the chastisement and judgment. He does not pursue the belief of peace and joy and asking for bread to be filled or pursue temporary fleshly enjoyments. All these are what a person being perfected has.
3 One day when you experience to a certain stage, you will not be able to leave God even if he asks you to leave, and you will always feel that you cannot do without having God within, and you can do without your husband or wife, children, family, parents, or fleshly enjoyment, but you cannot do without God. If you do not have God, you will feel as if your life were taken away, and you cannot live without God. When you experience to such a stage, you will have succeeded in believing in God. Thus God will have become your life and become the foundation of your existence, and you can never leave God.
4 Believing in God, you should at least resolve the matter of your normal relationship with God. If you do not have a normal relationship with God, your believing in God loses meaning. To build up a normal relationship with God, this is achieved completely through quieting your heart before God. A normal relationship with God means that you do not doubt or deny any work of God but can obey it, have a right intent before God, do not plan for yourself, and no matter what you do, put the interests of God’s family first, accept God’s searching, and obey God’s arrangement. In doing everything, you should quiet your heart before God. Even if you do not know God’s will, you should do all you can to fulfill your duty and your responsibility, and when God’s will is revealed to you, you practice according to it then, which is not late. When your relationship with God is normal, your relationship with men will also be normal. All this is based on God’s word. Through eating and drinking God’s words, practice according to God’s requirements and set your viewpoints right; do not do things that resist God or disturb the church, do not do things which are not beneficial to the life of the brothers and sisters, do not say words which do not benefit others, and do not do unpresentable things; do everything aboveboard and be able to bring it before God. Although sometimes your flesh is weak, you should put the interests of God’s family first, without seeking your personal interests, and should practice righteousness. If you can practice this way, your relationship with God will be normal.
5 If you want to build a normal relationship with God, you must turn your heart to God. On this basis, you will have a normal relationship with people. If you do not have a normal relationship with God, no matter how you maintain your relationship with people, however hard you try and however much effort you make, it is of human philosophies of life, and you are maintaining your position among people according to human viewpoints and by human philosophies so that they will compliment you, but are not building a normal relationship with them according to God’s word. If you do not pay attention to your relationship with people but maintain a normal relationship with God, being willing to give your heart to God and learning to obey God, naturally your relationship with everyone will be normal.
6 In experience, it can be seen that quieting the heart before God is a most important thing, and it has a bearing on one’s spiritual living and his growth in life. Only if your heart is quiet before God will you achieve results in pursuing the truth and pursuing the transformation of your disposition. This is because you come before God with a burden, always feeling that you lack too much, that there are many truths you need to know and many realities you need to experience, and that you ought to care for God’s will. You always have these things in your heart, as if you would be overburdened with them, and thus you feel heavy about them in your heart (but it is not a passive state). Only such a person is qualified to receive revelation from God’s word and receive moving from God’s Spirit. It is because of his burden and his heavy heart, or in other words, because of the price he pays and the suffering he undergoes before God, that he receives in return God’s revelation and enlightenment. For God does not show favoritism to anyone, and he always treats man fairly, but he does not bestow to man lightly or give to man unconditionally. This is one aspect of his righteous disposition. In practical life, most people have not reached this state. At the very least, their heart has not turned to God completely. Therefore, even today their life disposition has not been transformed much. It is all because they only live in God’s grace but have not received the working of the Holy Spirit. God’s criterion in using a man is: giving his heart to God, having a burden for God’s word, having a thirsting heart, and having the will to seek the truth. Only such a person can receive the working of the Holy Spirit and often receive revelation and enlightenment. A person used by God outwardly seems to have no sense and have no normal relationship with others, but he has proper limits in speaking and does not speak indiscreetly and can always quiet his heart before God. Yet such a person can be used by the Holy Spirit. Such a person without sense whom God speaks of seems to have no normal relationship with others outwardly and does not practice outward love or outward practices. However, when fellowshipping about the things in the spirit, he can open his heart and selflessly supply others with the enlightenment and revelation he has received before God in his actual experience, thereby expressing his love for God and satisfying God’s heart’s desire. When others slander and ridicule him, he can be free from being influenced by outward people and matters and things and can still be quiet before God. It seems that such a person has his original views. No matter how others behave, his heart will never be away from God. When others are talking and laughing casually, his heart is still before God, pondering God’s word or praying silently to the God in his heart and seeking God’s will. He never attaches importance to maintaining his normal relationship with others. It seems that he has no philosophies of life. Outwardly, such a person is lively and lovely, and is somewhat childlike but somewhat steady. This is the very pattern of a man used by God. Things like philosophies of life and “normal sense” simply do not work in such a person. He just puts his heart completely into God’s word, as if he has only God in his heart. Such a person is a person “without sense” whom God speaks about and is precisely a man used by God. The mark of a man used by God is: No matter when and where, his heart is always before God, and no matter how unrestrainedly others behave and how they indulge their lust and their flesh, his heart never departs from God and he never follows the crowd. Only such a person is fit for God’s use, and he is precisely one to be perfected by the Holy Spirit. If you cannot achieve this, you are not qualified to be gained by God or be perfected by the Holy Spirit.
7 Do you treat everyone the same way? Is your relationship with everyone maintained by your philosophies of life or built on the love of God? If one does not give his heart to God, his spirit will be dull and numb and insensitive. Such a person will never understand God’s word and will never have a normal relationship with God, and his disposition will never be transformed. The process of a person’s disposition being transformed is a process for him to give his heart completely to God and receive revelation and enlightenment in God’s word. God’s working on the one hand enables man to enter in actively, and on the other hand enables man to know his negative aspects and then cast them off. When you have given your heart to God, you will be able to sense every fine moving in your spirit and know any revelation and enlightenment from God. Keep this all the time, and thereby you will gradually enter the way to be perfected by the Holy Spirit. The more your heart can be quiet before God, the keener and more sensitive your spirit will become, and the more you will be able to sense the moving of the Holy Spirit. Then your relationship with God will become more and more normal. One’s normal relationship with others is built on the basis that his heart is turned to God, and it is not attained through his human effort. Without God, one only has a fleshly relationship with others, which is abnormal and indulgent in lust and is hated and loathed by God. If you say that you have moving in your spirit, but you always like to fellowship with those who are to your liking and who you think highly of, and if someone else who is not to your liking seeks you remain silent due to your prejudice against him, this further proves that you are a person of emotion and you do not have a normal relationship with God at all, and you are deceiving God and are covering up your ugliness. Even if you can speak some knowledge, as your intent is not right, all that you do is out of human goodness, and God will not approve you. You are doing it by your flesh, not out of God’s burden. If your heart can be quiet before God and you can have normal contact with all those who love God, then you are a person fit for God to use. Hence, no matter how you contact others, you are not practicing philosophies of life but are caring for God’s burden and living in God’s presence.
8 Whenever you do a thing, you should examine whether your intent is right. If you can do it according to God’s requirement, your relationship with God will be normal. This is the minimum standard. When you, through examining your intent, find that you have a wrong intent, if you can forsake it and act according to God’s word, then you will be a right person before God. It shows that your relationship with God is normal and that everything you do is for God, not for yourself. Whenever doing a thing or saying a word, you should have a right heart, act justly, and act not according to your emotion or your own ideas. This is the principle by which a believer in God should act. In a small thing a person’s intent and stature can be revealed. So, if one wants to enter into the way of being perfected by God, he should first solve the matter of his intents and his relationship with God. Only if your relationship with God is normal can you be perfected by God and can God’s dealing, pruning, discipline, and refining produce the due results on you. That is to say, you have God in your heart, do not pursue for your personal interests, and do not think about your personal future (which refers to thinking about your flesh), but have a burden for your entering into life, do your best to pursue the truth, and obey God’s work. Thus, as the goal of your pursuit is right, your relationship with God will be normal. It can be said that to have a right relationship with God is the first step in one’s entering into the spiritual journey. Although man’s destiny is in God’s hand, and it is predestined by God and cannot be changed by himself, yet whether you can be perfected and be gained by God is determined according to whether your relationship with God is normal. Maybe you have weaknesses and disobedience, but as long as your viewpoints and your intents are right and your relationship with God is right and normal, you will have the qualification to be perfected by God. If your relationship with God is not right, your purpose being for the flesh or for the family, then it will be in vain no matter how much effort you make. If your relationship with God is normal, everything will be all right. God looks at nothing else but whether your viewpoint of believing in God is right, in whom you believe, for whom you believe, and for what you believe. If you see these clearly and can practice with a right viewpoint, you can grow in life and can surely enter the right track. If your relationship with God is abnormal and your viewpoint of believing in God is erroneous, then you will be finished, and you will gain nothing no matter how you believe. Only if your relationship with God is normal can such things as your forsaking the flesh, praying, suffering, exercising patience, obeying, helping the brothers and sisters, spending more for God, and so forth be approved by God. Whether a thing you do is valuable and meaningful depends on whether your intent is right and whether your viewpoint is correct. Now many people believe in God as a wryneck looks at his watch—having a wrong view. If this is broken through, it will be good. If this is resolved, everything will become easy. If this is not resolved, nothing will be achieved. Some people behave very well before me but keep on resisting behind my back. This is a manifestation of being crooked and crafty. Such people are the servants of satan and the typical embodiments of satan, and they have come to test God. Only if you can obey my work and my word are you a right person. As long as you can eat and drink God’s word, can bring before God everything you do, are open and aboveboard in doing anything, do not do unpresentable things, do not do things harmful to others’ life, live in the light, and keep yourself from being used by satan, this means that you have set right your relationship with God.
9 If after you finish reading these words, you just accept them with your mouth but are not moved in your heart and do not seek to build a normal relationship with God, this proves that you do not pay attention to your relationship with God, your viewpoint has not been set right, and your intent is still not for God to gain you or for God to be glorified but for satan’s scheme to succeed and your own ends to be achieved. The intent of this kind of person is not right and his viewpoint is not correct. No matter what God speaks and how God speaks, he remains untouched, no change can be seen in him, and he does not feel afraid or ashamed in his heart. Such a person is a foolish one without a spirit. After you read the words God speaks each time, if you understand them, you should put them into practice. No matter what you did before, having fleshly weakness, having disobedience, or having resistance, this is not a big matter, and it cannot hinder your life from growing today. As long as you can have a normal relationship with God today, you have hope. Every time after you read God’s word, you have transformation, and others can see that you have a turn in your life. This shows that you have a normal and right relationship with God. God does not treat people according to their transgressions. As long as you can stop disobeying and resisting after you understand and know them, God will still have mercy upon you. When you have this knowledge and have this will to pursue to be perfected by God, your condition before God will be normal. No matter what you do, you should consider: If I do this, how will God react? How will the brothers and sisters react? When praying, fellowshipping, speaking, doing things, or contacting others, you should examine your intent and see whether your relationship with God is normal. If you cannot perceive your intents and thoughts, it means that you have no discernment and proves that you understand too little of the truth. Whatever God does, you should have a clear knowledge of it, and you should view it according to God’s word and look at it from God’s side. Thus your viewpoint will be right. So, building a good relationship with God is the first important thing in one’s believing in God. Everyone should practice it as the primary task and take it as an important matter in his life. In doing everything, you should measure it according to whether you have a normal relationship with God. If you have a normal relationship with God and have a right intent, you do it. In order to maintain a normal relationship with God, you should not be afraid that your personal interests will suffer losses, should not let satan succeed, should not give satan a handle against you, and should not let satan take you as a laughingstock. Having this intent is a manifestation of having a normal relationship with God. It is not for the flesh but for the peace in the spirit, for receiving the working of the Holy Spirit, and for satisfying God’s heart’s desire. To enter into the right state, you must build a good relationship with God and set your viewpoint of believing in God right, which is for God to gain you and manifest the results of the word in you and inspire and enlighten you more. Then, you will enter into the right way. Eat and drink God’s words of today constantly, enter into the present way of the Holy Spirit’s working, act according to God’s requirements of today, do not keep the old ways of practice, do not be attached to the former old practices, and enter into the ways of working of today sooner. In this way, your relationship with God will be completely normal, and you will enter the right track of believing in God.
10 What is a genuine prayer? It is to speak to God what is in your heart, fellowship with God on the basis of touching God’s will, and fellowship with God in God’s word, and you feel that you are very close to God, that God is right before you, that you have words to say to God and you are very brightened in your heart, and that God is very lovely, and thus you feel very encouraged and the brothers and sisters have enjoyment when hearing it and feel that what you say is their innermost thoughts and is what they want to say and that what you say substitutes for what they want to say. This is a genuine prayer. After you make a genuine prayer, you will have peace and enjoyment in your heart, your strength to love God will be stirred up, and you will feel that loving God is the most worthy and meaningful thing in life. This proves that your prayer has achieved results.
11 How to enter into genuine prayer?
When you pray, you have to have a heart quiet before God and have a sincere heart, and should have genuine fellowship and prayer with God and not say nice words to deceive God. When you pray, center on what God wants to accomplish now, ask God to give you more revelation and enlightenment, and bring your actual states and difficulties before God, including making resolutions before God. To pray is not to go through the motions but to seek God with a true heart and to beseech God to keep your heart, so that your heart can often be quiet before God, and you can know yourself, hate yourself, and forsake yourself in the environments God arranges for you, and thus you can have a normal relationship with God and truly become a person who loves God.
12 What results should prayer achieve?
One can practice prayer and understand the significance of prayer, but it is not a simple thing to achieve results in prayer. To pray is not to go through a formality, go through the motions, or recite God’s words. That is to say, to pray is not to parrot or imitate. When one prays, he must be able to give his heart to God and commune with God to receive God’s moving. To achieve good results in prayer, one must base it on reading God’s word. Only if one prays in God’s word can he receive more revelation and light. The manifestations of a genuine prayer are: having a thirst for the requirements given by God and desiring to meet them, hating what God hates and knowing it on that basis, and having knowledge of the truth set forth by God and not being unclear about it. If after a prayer one has the will, faith, knowledge, and ways of practice, this is a genuine prayer. Such a prayer has achieved results. However, prayer must be based on enjoying God’s word and fellowshipping with God in God’s word, with the heart seeking God and being quiet before God. Such a prayer has entered into the stage of genuinely fellowshipping with God.
13 The minimum standard God requires of man is that man can open his heart to him. If one gives his true heart to God and speaks his heart to God, then God will be willing to work on him. What God wants is not man’s crooked heart but man’s simple and honest heart. If one does not speak his heart to him, he will not move his heart or work on him. So, the most crucial thing in praying is to speak your heart to God, telling God your defects or your disobedient dispositions and opening yourself to God completely. Only thus will God be interested in your prayer. Otherwise, God will hide his face from you.
14 A true spiritual living is a life of praying and a life of being moved by the Holy Spirit. The course of being moved by the Holy Spirit is a course for one to be transformed in his disposition. A life without the moving of the Holy Spirit is not a spiritual living but a religious ritual. Only a person who often has the Holy Spirit’s moving and has the Holy Spirit’s revelation and enlightenment is one who has entered into a spiritual living. It is through prayer that one’s disposition is continuously transformed. The more one is moved by God’s Spirit, the more positive and obedient elements he will have. And his heart will be gradually purified, and his disposition will be gradually transformed as well. These are the results brought by genuine prayer.
15 Your spiritual living is for consciously receiving the presence of the Holy Spirit; it is not keeping a regulation or practicing a religious ritual, but is truly cooperating with God and truly disciplining your body. This is what man should do. So you should try your best to do it. The better you cooperate and the more effort you exert, the more your heart will turn to God and the better it will be quiet before God. When you reach such an extent that God completely gains your heart and no one can sway your heart or take away your heart, you will be a person who belongs to God completely. If you step onto this way, God’s word will be revealed to you often and inspire you as to what you do not understand. All these will be achieved because of your cooperation. So God always says this: “Whoever cooperates with me, I will bestow to him greatly.” You should see this way clearly. If you want to step onto the right way, you must do all you can to satisfy God. You should do your best to keep a spiritual living. At the beginning, you may not achieve much result in it, but do not get passive or draw back. Keep trying! The more spiritual living you have, the more your heart will be occupied by God’s word. You always have these things in your heart and always have them as your burden. Then tell God all that is in your heart through your spiritual living. Tell God what you are willing to do, what you are thinking in your heart, and what knowledge and views you have of God’s words. Don’t hide anything. Exercise to speak to God what is in your heart and tell him your true feelings. Speak anything that is in your heart. The more you speak like this, the more you will feel that God is lovely, and the more your heart will be attracted by God. At this point, you will feel that only God is dear and you cannot leave God under any circumstance. If you do such spiritual devotions every day and never forget it as if it is a most important thing in your life, then your heart will be occupied by God’s word. This means being moved by the Holy Spirit. It seems that your heart is always occupied by God and you always have your loved one in your heart and no one can take him away. At this point, God will truly live in you and God will have a place in your heart.
16 You should not believe in God only for receiving blessings, but should pursue to love God and know God. Through God’s revelation and your own pursuit, you can eat and drink God’s word, have a true knowledge of God, and have a true love for God from your heart. That is to say, your love for God is the truest, and no one can wreck your love for God and no one can hinder your love for God. At this point, you will have stepped onto the right track of believing in God, and it will prove that you are a person who belongs to God, because your heart has been occupied by God and nothing else can occupy you. Because of your experiences, because of your price, and because of God’s working, you can have a spontaneous love for God. At this point, you will have broken away from the influence of satan and lived in the light of God’s word. Only when you have broken away from the influence of darkness can it be said that you have gained God. You should pursue toward this goal in believing in God. This is the responsibility of every one of you. You should not be content with your present situation and should not be half-hearted about God’s work or take it lightly. You should think about God in every aspect, think of God at all times, and do everything for the sake of God, and put the interests of God’s family first when speaking and doing things. Only thus can you be after God’s heart.
17 If you want to see God’s love, you must practice the truth in practical life and must have a heart of suffering and bearing pain to give up what you love to satisfy God; though with tears in your eyes, you still can satisfy God’s heart. Then God will surely bless you. After you undergo such suffering, you will have the working of the Holy Spirit.
18 So, to love God, you have to pay a painful price and have to undergo sufferings. You do not need to be zealous or suffer hardships in any way outwardly, reading more or running more, but you should drop the things within you: extravagant thoughts, personal interests, self’s plans, notions, and intents. This is God’s will.
19 Every time people practice the truth, every time they are refined, every time they are tried, or every time God’s work comes to them, they have to undergo great sufferings. All these are tests for them. So there are wars within everyone. This is paying a price practically. Things like reading God’s word more and running more are also some price. These are what man should do, are man’s duty, and are the responsibility man should fulfill. But what man is required to drop within, you must drop. If you cannot drop it, no matter how great the sufferings you undergo outwardly and how much you run, they are in vain! That is to say, only your inward transformation can determine whether the sufferings you undergo outwardly are of value. If your inward disposition is transformed and you can practice the truth, then the sufferings you undergo outwardly will be approved by God. If your inward disposition is not transformed, then no matter how great the sufferings you undergo outwardly and how much you run, God will not approve. The sufferings one undergoes, if not confirmed by God, are all in vain. So whether your price counts is determined by whether you gain transformation and determined by whether you practice the truth, forsaking your intents and your notions, and thus reach the point where you satisfy God’s heart’s desire, have knowledge of God, and are faithful to God.
20 The more you practice the truth, the more you will have the truth; the more you practice the truth, the more you will have God’s love; the more you practice the truth, the more you will have God’s blessings. If you always practice this way, you will see God’s love gradually on you. It is like Peter’s knowing God. He said that God not only has the wisdom to create the heavens and the earth and all things, but even more has the wisdom to do practical works on man, that he is not only worthy of man’s love for creating the heavens and the earth and all things, but is even more worthy of man’s love for being able to create man, save man, perfect man, and give his love to man, and that he is worthy of man’s love in many aspects.
21 Those who are willing to be perfected and are faithful to God, those who are obedient, and those who perform their functions honestly, can all be perfected. Now those who do not perform their duties faithfully, those who are not faithful to God, and those who do not obey God, especially those who have received the revelation and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit but do not practice them, cannot be perfected. All those who are willing to be faithful and obedient can be perfected, even though they may be a bit ignorant. All those who are willing to pursue can be perfected. You all may rest assured about this. As long as you are willing to pursue toward this in your heart, you all can be perfected. I am not willing to cast away or eliminate any one of you. If you do not strive hard, it will be that you ruin yourself, and it will not be that I eliminate you but that you eliminate yourself.
22 Normal sense means that one has obedience and faithfulness to God, has thirst for God, can be absolute to God, and has a conscience toward God, and means that he is wholehearted toward God and does not deliberately resist God.
23 In people’s believing in God, the most basic thing is that they should have an honest heart and should fully consecrate themselves and truly obey. The most difficult thing for people to do is to pay with their whole life for a true faith and thus gain all the truth and fulfill their duty as a created being. This is what the failures fail to achieve and even more is what those who cannot find Christ fail to achieve.
24 To enter the right track means that you can quiet your heart before God all the time, have normal fellowship with God, gradually know your deficiencies, and gradually have a deeper knowledge of God, and through this you have new seeing and new revelation in your spirit every day, become more and more thirsty, pursue to enter into the truth, and have new light and new knowledge every day, and in this way you gradually break away from satan’s influence and gradually grow up in life. Such a person has entered the right track.
25 If you are truly quiet before God to a certain depth, you will be able to touch some mysteries in the spirit, touch what God wants to do on you now, touch a deeper knowledge of God’s word, touch the essence of God’s word, touch the substance of God’s word, touch the being of God’s word, and see the ways of practice more clearly and accurately. If you are not quiet in your spirit deep enough, you will only have some moving of the Holy Spirit, have strength within, and have some enjoyment and peace, but you cannot touch deeper things. I once said such a word: “If one does not exert all his strength, he can hardly hear my voice or see my face.” This refers to being quiet before God to a certain depth, not to exerting strength outwardly. If one can be truly quiet before God, he can cast off all his worldly entanglements and can be occupied by God.
26 When one exercises to live before God to a certain depth where he can forsake himself, hate himself, and live in God’s word, this means that he truly quiets his heart before God. A person can hate himself, curse himself, and forsake himself, and this is the result of God’s working, which he cannot achieve by himself. So, quieting the heart before God is a lesson you should enter into right now.
27 If you want to give your heart to God, you must first subdue your heart, give up all your own intents, and do everything for God. This is the way to practice giving your heart to God. What does it mean to subdue your heart? It means that you drop your fleshly extravagant desires and do not hanker after the blessings of position or crave ease and comfort, you do everything for satisfying God, and your heart can be completely for God and not for yourself.
28 Man’s own will is often good, right, and not very discordant with the truth in man’s eyes, and he thinks that his doing so is practicing the truth and is obeying God. Actually, in this thing, he has not truly sought God or prayed to God, has not tried his best to do well to satisfy God’s heart’s desire, and has not tried his best to do well according to God’s requirements. Man does not have this real state and does not have this desire. This is man’s biggest mistake in practice. Because you believe in God but do not have God in your heart, aren’t you sinning? Aren’t you deceiving yourself? If you continue to believe like this, what results can you achieve? And where does the meaning of your believing in God lie?……………
Being approved by God, this is the first thing that you should first examine and reach in doing things, and should be the principle and the scope of your doing things. The reason why when doing a thing, you should judge whether it is in accordance with the truth is that if it is in accordance with the truth, it is certainly after God’s heart. You are not required to judge the right and wrong of the thing or to judge whether it suits everyone’s taste and whether it fits your own desire, but to judge whether it is in accordance with the truth and whether it is beneficial to the works of the church and the interests of the church. If you consider these aspects, more and more things you do will be after God’s heart. If you do not consider these aspects, but merely do things according to your own will, surely you will do all of them wrong. This is because man’s will is not the truth and is certainly incompatible with God.
29 The course of accepting God’s searching is a course for one to be purified. The more you can accept God’s searching, the more you will be purified, and the more you will be after God’s heart, and thus you will not indulge yourself and your heart can live before God. The more you accept God’s searching, the more satan will be put to shame, and the more you will be able to forsake your flesh. So, to accept God’s searching is a way one should practice.
30 You should rely on God to first resolve your own difficulties within and get rid of your own fallen disposition, should truly know your own condition and know what you should do, and should fellowship more about what you do not understand. It will not do if you do not know yourself. First cure your own illness; through eating and drinking and pondering my word more, live and act by my word. Whether at home or in any other places, you should let God rule within you. … Can one who is unable to live by God’s word grow in life? No! You must live by my word every moment, and have my word as the principle of acting in your life, so that you will feel that doing in this way is pleasing to God and doing in that way is hateful to God, and gradually you will step onto the right track.
31 The way led by the Holy Spirit means that one is inspired in spirit, has knowledge of God’s words, is clear about the way ahead, and can progressively enter into the truth and have more knowledge of God. The way led by the Holy Spirit mainly means that one has a clearer knowledge of God’s words, which is not deviant or erroneous, and walks exactly according to them.
32 What are contained in God’s word are all the truths man should have. They are most beneficial and helpful to man, are nourishment and nutriment your body needs, are to help man to be restored to the normal humanity and are the truths man should be equipped with. The more you practice God’s word, the faster your life will grow; the more you practice God’s word, the more you will become clear about the truth. When your stature grows, you will see the things of the spiritual realm more clearly, and thus you will have more strength to overcome satan. Many truths you do not understand will become clear to you through your practicing God’s words.
33 To put all one’s heart and strength into God’s word mainly means to seek the truth, seek God’s meaning, and pay attention to touching God’s will in God’s word, and to understand and gain more truths in God’s word. In reading God’s word, Peter did not put his focus on understanding doctrines, much less on gaining theological knowledge. Rather, he focused on understanding the truth and touching God’s will, so as to know God’s disposition and God’s loveliness. Meanwhile, he tried to know in God’s word man’s various corrupt states, man’s corrupt nature, and man’s real lacks, and tried to meet God’s requirements for man in every aspect so as to satisfy God. He had so many accurate practices in God’s word, which was most after God’s heart and was man’s best cooperation in experiencing God’s work. In his experiencing hundreds of trials from God, every word God judged man with, every word God exposed man with, and every word of God’s requirement for man, he strictly checked himself against them to examine himself and touch their meaning. All the words Jesus said to him, he pondered them over seriously and bore them in mind, and he got very good results. By practicing so, he got to know himself in God’s word, not only knowing man’s various corrupt states, but also knowing man’s substance and nature and man’s various deficiencies. This meant that he had truly known himself. In God’s word, on the one hand, he got to truly know himself, and on the other hand, as God in his words expressed God’s righteous disposition, expressed what God has and is, expressed God’s intention in working, and expressed God’s requirements for mankind, from these words he completely knew God, knowing God’s disposition and God’s substance and also having some knowledge and understanding of what God has and is, God’s loveliness, and God’s requirements for man.
34 If in eating and drinking every piece of God’s word, you can touch what God wants to do now and know how to pray, how to cooperate, and how to enter in, this means that you have achieved results in eating and drinking God’s word. If from God’s word you can find ways of entering in and touch the movement of God’s working now and the trend of the Holy Spirit’s working, this means that you have entered the right track.
35 The most basic thing you should pursue is to have God’s word produce results in you, that is, to have a true knowledge of God’s word in practice. Maybe your ability to understand God’s word is poor, but through your practicing God’s word, God will make up for your defect of poor understanding ability. So, you should not only know many truths but even more practice the truths. This is the key of keys and cannot be ignored.
36 To enter into reality, people have to face the real life in every aspect. If people, in believing in God, cannot enter into the real life to know themselves or live out the normal humanity in the real life, they will be failures. Those who disobey God are all the ones who cannot enter into the real life, who talk about humanity with their mouth but live out devilish nature, and who talk about the truth with their mouth but live out doctrines. Those who cannot live out the truth in the real life are all the ones who believe in God but are rejected by God.
37 If you want to be transformed in your disposition in believing in God, you cannot make it if divorced from the real life. Only if you can in the real life know yourself, forsake yourself, practice the truth, and learn in everything the principles of conducting oneself and the common sense and proprieties of conducting oneself can you be transformed gradually. If you only pay attention to doctrinal knowledge and only live in religious rituals but do not go deep into reality or enter into the real life, then you can never enter into reality and can never know yourself, the truth, or God, and you will forever be a blind and ignorant man.
38 For people to be transformed, there have to be some realities, some actual things, matters, and environments, for them to exercise through. … Enter into exercise by targeting at one matter, one thing, or one person, and do it with a target. Only thus can results be achieved. To transform people, it has to be done from their substance, aiming at their substance, their life, and their laziness, dependence, and slavishness. Only in this way can people be transformed.
39 To know the self means: In the things you think you do them well and rightly, in the things you feel you can satisfy God’s heart’s desire, or in the things you feel you can boast about yourself, it is particularly necessary for you to know yourself and for you to examine deep and see what mixtures there are actually and which of them cannot satisfy God’s heart’s desire. … The case of Paul serves as a warning to each of us believers in God now. That is, when we think we do something quite well, when we feel we are particularly gifted in a certain aspect, or when we think we do not need to be transformed or to accept dealings in a certain aspect, we should even more know ourselves in this aspect. This is because you will certainly not go deeper in the aspect you think you are good, pay attention to it, or dissect whether there is something resisting God in it.
40 To know your nature is actually to dissect the things in the depth of your soul, that is, the things within your life, the logic and the many viewpoints of satan by which you live, that is, the life of satan by which you live. Only if you dig out the things in the depth of your soul can you know your nature….
41 If one knows himself too superficially, no problems can be resolved, and his life disposition can never be transformed. You must know yourself to a deep degree, that is, you know your own nature, what elements your nature contains, what these things are out of, and where they are from. In addition, do you hate these things? Have you seen your ugly soul and evil nature? If you have really seen your true self, you will start to hate yourself. When you hate yourself, you will be able to forsake the flesh in practicing God’s word, and will have the strength to practice the truth and no longer feel it difficult.
42 You can in the real life exercise your entering in and know your deficiencies, your disobedience and ignorance, your abnormal humanity, and your weaknesses, and all such knowledge will be based on your actual states and actual difficulties. Only such knowledge will be practical and can cause you to truly have a grasp of your states and be transformed in your disposition.
43 If you want to enter into the reality of God’s word and enter the right track of spiritual living, you have to first know reality and cast off vague and supernatural things. That is to say, you have to first know how the Holy Spirit practically inspires and guides you. Thus, if you have truly touched the Holy Spirit’s practical work on man, you will have entered the right track of being perfected by God.
44 The group of trained good soldiers of the kingdom are not ones who can only talk about reality or ones who can talk big, but ones who can live out God’s word all the time. No matter what frustrations they encounter, they will neither yield nor flinch, and no matter when, they can live by God’s word and will not return to the world. Only this is the reality spoken of by God and is God’s requirement for man.
45 Your knowing the surface of the truth does not mean that you have understood the truth and known the truth. The true meaning of the truth is gained in experience. So, only through experiencing the truth can you understand the truth, only in experience can you touch the hidden part of the truth, and only when your experience deepens can you grasp the inner meaning of the truth and understand the substance of the truth. Therefore, only if you have the truth can you travel all over the world. If you have no truth, even your family will not be convinced of you, not to mention many religious people. If you have no truth, you are snowflakes floating. If you have the truth, you will be happy and released, and no one can attack you. Any theory, however powerful, cannot overthrow the truth. With the truth, you can make heaven and earth turned upside down and the mountains toppled and the seas overturned; without the truth, the city can be overthrown by maggots. This is an obvious fact.
46 On this path, many people can speak much knowledge, yet they are tearful at the time of their death, hating themselves for having lived their life vainly and emptily and having only understood but having never seized an opportunity to glorify God. They fight and wrangle and rush about all their life, yet they are bitterly remorseful in their heart at the time of their death. Many people wake up and understand the meaning of human life only when they die. Isn’t it too late? Why not pursue the truth you love today? Why wait till tomorrow? You do not suffer for the truth or pursue to gain it when you are alive. Is your purpose to regret when you die? Then why do you believe in God? Actually, in many things people can practice the truth and satisfy God by making a little effort. Yet they are always obsessed and cannot do things for God but always labor and are busy for their flesh and gain nothing in the end, so they always have miseries and difficulties. Aren’t these the afflictions of satan? Aren’t these the corruptions of the flesh? You should not pay lip service and deceive God but should practice practically. Don’t fool yourself. What meaning does it have? What can you gain from living for your flesh and scrambling for fame and gain?
47 The more one knows reality, the more he will be able to tell whether what others say is reality; the more one knows reality, the fewer notions he will have; the more one experiences reality, the more he will know the deeds of the practical God, and the more easily he will cast off his corrupt satanic disposition; the more reality one has, the more he will know God, and the more he will loathe the flesh and love the truth; the more reality one has, the closer he will be to the standard required by God. Those gained by God are the ones who have reality and who know reality, and those gained by God are the ones who know God’s practical deeds through experiencing reality. … Now the focus is just on reality. The more reality one has, the more clearly he will know the truth, and the better he will understand God’s will. Reality can prevail over all letters and doctrines and over all theoretical knowledge. The more one pays attention to reality, the more he can truly love God and thirst for God’s word.
48 Without reality, you are without the truth. Without reality, you are a good-for-nothing. Without reality, you are a walking corpse. Without reality, you are a “thinker of Marxism-Leninism,” without reference value. I advise every one of you to shut your mouth of theory and speak something real and something genuine, learn some “modern art,” speak something realistic, contribute some reality, and have some spirit of dedication. Speak on the basis of reality and do not talk boastfully. What value does it have to please others and to make them have a different view of you? What meaning does it have to make others treat you warmly? Speak with some “artistry,” do things with some justice, handle things with some sense, and talk with some reality. Think about the interests of God’s family in your every act and move. When your emotions come out, have some conscience, and do not return kindness with ingratitude and be ungrateful or be a hypocrite; doing so will “have a bad influence.” When you eat and drink God’s word, relate it more with the reality. When you fellowship, speak more realistic things, and do not stand in a high position, which God does not like. When you associate with others, practice “forbearance” and “concession” more, be magnanimous, and learn some “spirit of a prime minister.” When you have bad thoughts, practice forsaking your flesh more. When you do the work, talk more about the practical ways, and do not speak anything so high that others cannot live up to it. Enjoy less and contribute more, and have some spirit of selfless dedication. Care for God’s will more and act by your conscience more. God speaks to you earnestly and patiently with good intentions every day; think about it often and do not forget it, and look over the “old almanac” often. Pray often and fellowship often, do not be foolish anymore, and have some sense and gain some insight. When your evil hand stretches out, draw it back, and do not stretch it so long; it’s no use! What you get from God will only be curse; be careful. Have some compassion for others, and do not always attack others with weapons; supply others more and speak about life more, and have some spirit of helping others. Do more and talk less. Practice more, and research and analyze less. Receive more moving from the Holy Spirit, and give God more opportunities to perfect you. Cast off more human elements; your human practices are still too many, and your superficial practices and acts are still loathsome; give up more of them. Your mental activities are still too disgusting; change them more. You still have too much place for man in your heart; give more place to God, and do not be so unreasonable; the “temple” is God’s and should not be occupied by man. In short, practice righteousness more and act according to emotions less, and it is best to cast off the flesh. Talk more about reality and speak less knowledge, and it is best to shut your mouth and not to speak it. Talk more about the ways of practice and speak fewer worthless big words. It is best to begin to practice now.
49 It is after practicing God’s word, not after reading God’s word, that man’s life grows. If you simply think that one will have life and have a stature as long as he understands God’s word, your knowledge is erroneous. Only when one practices the truth can he truly understand God’s word. You should know the word “It is through practicing the truth that one understands the truth.”
50 For man to pursue to practice the truth is to perform his duty, that is, to pursue to satisfy God’s requirement. The substance of such “requirement” is the most realistic truth, not empty doctrines that no one can live up to. If your pursuit is full of doctrines and without any reality, aren’t you one who disobeys the truth? Aren’t you one who attacks the truth? How could such people be ones who pursue to love God? These people who have no reality are all ones who betray the truth and ones who are disobedient by nature!
51 Understanding God’s word, practicing according to God’s word, and doing everything by principles, not observing regulations or doing it reluctantly for others to see but practicing the truth and living by God’s word, such practice is satisfying God. Any practice that satisfies God is not regulation but practicing the truth.
52 Those who believe in God but who always seek interests for themselves, are self-right and self-important, exhibit themselves, and preserve their position are ones who love satan and oppose the truth and ones who resist God and belong totally to satan.
53 Those who do not understand God’s will are the ones who resist God; those who understand God’s will but do not practice the truth are the ones who resist God; those who eat and drink God’s word but go against the substance of God’s word are the ones who resist God; those who have notions about the incarnated God and intentionally disobey are the ones who resist God; those who judge God are the ones who resist God; all those who cannot know God and cannot testify God are the ones who resist God.
54 The act of not being absolutely obedient to me is betrayal. The act of not being faithful to me is betrayal. The act of cheating me and telling lies to deceive me is betrayal. Having numerous notions and spreading them all around is betrayal. Not upholding my testimony or safeguarding my interests is betrayal. The act of staying away from me in the heart but seeing me off with smiles is betrayal. All these acts are your habitual doings and also your common practices. You all think that they are nothing serious, but I do not think so. I cannot treat things of betraying me as trifling matters, much less turn a blind eye to them. Now when I am working among you, you are even like this. If one day no one oversees you, won’t you all become bandits that occupy a mountain to act as a lord? If you cause tremendous troubles at that time, who will pick up the pieces?
55 As a created being, man should pursue to fulfill the duty of a created being and pursue to love God without any choice, because God is worthy for man to love. He who pursues to love God should not pursue his own interests or his own hopes. This is the most right way of pursuing.
56 “Love” means a pure and unblemished affection, to love with the heart, and to feel and care with the heart; in “love” there is no condition, no barrier, and no distance; in “love” there is no suspicion, no cheat, and no cunning; in “love” there is no distance and not any mixture. If you have love, you will not cheat, will not complain, will not betray, will not disobey, will not demand, and will not seek to receive anything or care how much you receive. If you have love, you will be willing to consecrate, will be willing to suffer, will be compatible with me, and will give up your all for me, giving up your family, your future, your youth, and your marriage. Otherwise, your love is not love but cheat and betrayal!
57 So, if man wants to love God, he has to cast off all the satanic disposition, such as, self-rightness, self-importance, arrogance, self-conceit, and so on. Otherwise, man’s love is all a mixed love and a satanic love and can by no means be approved by God. Without being directly perfected, dealt with, broken, pruned, disciplined, chastened, and refined by the Holy Spirit, no one can truly love God.
58 The less refining people undergo, the less love they will have for God, and the less of God’s power will be manifested in them. The greater refining people undergo, the greater suffering they undergo, and the more torments they undergo, the deeper true love they will have for God, the more true faith they will have in God, and the deeper knowledge they will have of God.
59 If you do not know God’s disposition, you will surely fall in trials, because you do not know how God perfects man and by what means God perfects man. When God’s trials come to you, which are discordant with your notions, you will not be able to stand. God’s true love is all God’s disposition. When all God’s disposition is revealed to you, what will it bring to your flesh? When God’s righteous disposition is revealed to you, your flesh will surely undergo many sufferings. Without undergoing these sufferings, you cannot be perfected by God, nor can you offer up your true love to God. For God to perfect you, he has to reveal all his disposition to you. From the creation of the world until now, all God’s disposition has never been revealed to man. In the end time, God reveals all his disposition to this group of people predestined and chosen by him, and he reveals his disposition at the time he perfects people, thereby making a group of people complete. This is God’s true love for man. To experience God’s true love for man, one needs to experience extremely great sufferings and pay a high price. Only thus can he eventually be gained by God and finally return his true love to God and can God’s heart be satisfied. If you want to be perfected by God, want to carry out God’s will, and want to offer up your true love to God completely, you have to experience many sufferings and environmental tortures, even to the point of being tormented half dead, so that in the end you will return your true heart to God under compulsion. Whether a person has a true love for God or not is revealed in the refining of sufferings, and God purifies a person’s love also through the refining of sufferings.
60 The more God refines one, the more his heart will be able to love God. When one’s heart suffers, it is beneficial to his life. He will be better able to be quiet before God, will be more intimate with God, and will be better able to see God’s great love and God’s great salvation. Peter experienced hundreds of refinings, and Job also experienced many trials. If you want to be perfected by God, you also have to experience hundreds of refinings. You also must go through such a course and such steps before you can satisfy God’s heart’s desire and be perfected by God.
61 Although one may have understood many truths before undergoing refining, he cannot practice all these truths. Only when he is in refining can he understand the true meaning of these truths and truly realize the inner meaning of these truths. At this time, when he practices these truths again, it will be accurate and after God’s heart. His practice at this time will be with less of his own will, his naturalness, and his emotion. Only his practice at this time will be the manifestation of truly loving God.
62 When you have satisfied God, you will have God’s guidance within and God will especially bless you so that you will have a feeling of enjoyment, feeling particularly honored for having satisfied God this time, feeling very brightened within, bright and peaceful in your heart, and comforted and not accused in your conscience, and feeling released and happy within when seeing the brothers and sisters. This is enjoying God’s love, and only this is truly enjoying God. It is through experience that people enjoy God’s love. Through experiencing suffering and experiencing practicing the truth, they receive God’s blessings. If you only say that God has really loved you and that God has really paid a great price for man, having spoken so many words earnestly and patiently and having been saving man all the time, this means that you have only enjoyed God in one aspect. Yet a lot more real enjoyment is got through your practicing the truth in practical life, after which you will feel peaceful and bright in your heart, feel particularly moved within, feel that God is very lovely, and feel that the price you have paid is very worthwhile. After you exert the painstaking effort and pay the price, you will feel particularly brightened within, feeling that you have truly enjoyed God’s love and understanding that God has done a work of salvation on man, that God refines man for the purpose of purifying man, and that God tries man for the purpose of testing if man has a true love. If you always practice the truth in this way, you will gradually know many works of God clearly. At that time, you will always feel that God’s word is as clear as crystal before you.
63 Those who do not love God do not love the truth, and thus they cannot gain God, much less receive God’s approval. No matter how such people experience the work of the Holy Spirit or experience judgment, they cannot have a fear of God. These are the ones whose nature is hard to change and whose disposition is extremely wicked. All those who do not have a fear of God are the ones to be eliminated and the ones to be punished, and they will receive the same punishment as those who do evil, and will even suffer more than those who do unrighteousness.
64 When you are experiencing trials, whether you are weak or are passive within, or whether you do not understand God’s will or are not very clear about the ways of practice, it is normal. But in any case you should have faith in God’s work and not deny God as Job did not. Although Job was weak and cursed the day he was born, he did not deny that all the things man has after his birth are bestowed by Jehovah and taken away by Jehovah. No matter how he was tried, he believed this. In your experience, no matter what refinings you undergo in God’s word, God wants your faith. He does so just to perfect your faith and your will. You cannot touch or see anything. Just when you cannot touch or see anything, you need to have faith. In the things you cannot see with your physical eyes, you need to have faith; when you cannot drop your notions, you need to have faith; when you cannot understand God’s work, you need to have faith and to stand the ground and stand the testimony. When Job reached this point, God appeared to him and spoke to him. That is to say, only in faith can you see God. If you have faith, God will perfect you. If you have no faith, God will have no way to perfect you. What you expect to receive, God will bestow to you. If you have no faith, you cannot be perfected and cannot see God’s deeds, much less see God’s almightiness. If you have faith to touch God’s deeds in your actual experience, God will appear to you, inspiring and guiding you within. If you do not have such a faith, God will have no way to work on you. As you lose hope in God, how can you experience God? So, if you have faith, do not doubt God, and you have a true belief in him no matter what he does, he will inspire and enlighten you in your experience, and you will be able to see his deeds. All these will be achieved by faith. Only through refining will you have faith, and without refining, you will not have faith. What does faith refer to? It refers to the true belief and the sincere heart that one should have when he cannot see or touch anything and when God’s work is discordant with his notions and is beyond his reach. This is what I mean by faith. One needs to have faith when suffering and needs to have faith when being refined. When one has faith, he will be refined. These two are inseparable. No matter what work God does and what circumstances you are in, if you can pursue life, pursue to have God’s work carried out on you, pursue the truth, know God’s deeds, and act according to the truth, this means that you have a true faith, and it proves that you do not lose hope in God. If in refining you still pursue the truth, can love God truly, and have no doubts about him, and no matter what he does, you still practice the truth to satisfy him and can seek his will deep within and care for his will, this means that you have a true faith in God.
65 You should know that for God to perfect men, make men complete, and gain men, all that it brings upon men’s flesh is sword and smiting, endless sufferings, burning of fire, merciless judgments, chastisements, and curses, and boundless trials. This is the inside truth and the real situation of the work of managing man. But all these are aimed at men’s flesh, and all the spearheads of opposition are mercilessly directed at men’s “flesh” (because men are innocent). He does all these for the sake of his glory and testimony and for the sake of his management, because his work is not only for men’s sake but for his whole plan and for the fulfillment of his original intention in creating men. Therefore, perhaps ninety percent of what men experience is sufferings and fiery trials, and they have few or even no sweet and happy days as their flesh expects, much less can they enjoy the happy moments when God and their flesh have a good time together. The flesh is filthy, so all that men’s flesh sees and enjoys is chastisements from God who is unfeeling and seems to have no normal sense. This is because God wants to reveal his righteous disposition that is “unfeeling,” tolerates no offense of man, and hates the enemies. He makes all his disposition known to men “unscrupulously,” so as to end his work of warring against satan that has lasted for six thousand years—the work of redeeming all mankind and destroying the old satan!
66 Only a refined love will be strong, not fragile. No matter when and how God tries you, if you can give no thought to your life and willingly give up everything for God and endure everything for God, your love will be pure and your belief will have reality. Only at that time will you be a person truly loved by God and a person truly perfected by God.
67 The further you go, the greater the trials will be. According to people’s need and according to their stature, God does the work of refining on people. In the period when God perfects people, the number of people cannot possibly increase, but will only decrease. Only through these refinings can people be perfected. The dealings, disciplines, trials, chastisements, and curses, can you withstand them?
68 In the future, everyone will walk the way he should walk under the leading of the Holy Spirit. When experiencing the tribulation, who will be able to take care of others? Everyone will have his own sufferings. Each one will have his own stature, and no one will have the same stature as others. Husbands will not be able to take care of their wives, and parents will not be able to take care of their children either. No one will be able to take care of others. It will not be like now when you can take care of or sustain each other. That will be the time for all kinds of people to be revealed. That is to say, when God strikes the shepherds, the flock will be scattered. At that time, you will not have true leaders. People will be scattered. How will you be able to meet together as you can now? In the future, all those who have no working of the Holy Spirit will show their true colors. Husbands will betray their wives, and wives will betray their husbands; children will betray their parents, and parents will persecute their children. Man’s heart is unpredictable! You can only hold fast to what you have to walk well the final part of the journey. Now none of you can see that clearly, and you all are shortsighted. It is not an easy thing to experience this stage of work successfully.
69 In the tribulation all people will have no working of the Holy Spirit and no guidance of God. However, those who have been truly conquered and who truly pursue God will all be able to stand firm in the end. They are all the ones who have humanity and who genuinely love God. No matter what God does, these people who overcome will not lose the vision and will still practice the truth and not lose the testimony. They will be the ones coming out of the great tribulation in the end.
70 A perfected person does not only have a normal humanity, but the truths he has are beyond the measure of conscience, higher than the standard of conscience. He does not only repay God’s love by his conscience, but even more he has known God and seen that God is lovely and is worthy of man’s love and that God has many things for man to love and man cannot but love him. A perfected person’s loving God is for fulfilling his own resolution. His love is a spontaneous love, a love based on no reward, and a love without any terms. He loves God only because of his knowledge of God. He is not concerned whether God will give him grace, and as long as he can satisfy God, he will be content. … A perfected person always thinks this way: God is the Creator, and he has done this work on us; since I have the opportunity, the condition, and the qualification to be perfected by him, I should pursue to live out a meaningful life and should satisfy him.
71 When you love God to a stage that you love God more than anything else and loving God is first, you will be able to give up everything and be willing to accept all God’s dealing and pruning. If you can love God more than anything else, you will be able to live in reality and live in God’s love.
72 Peter pursued to live out the image of a man who loves God and to be a man who obeys God, who accepts dealing and pruning, and who fulfills the duty of a created being. He could consecrate himself, fully commit himself into God’s hand, and be obedient unto death. He had such a resolution and he fulfilled it. This was the root of his outcome being different from Paul’s in the end.
73 It is precisely because time is pressing that God works like this. God hopes that you all will love God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength, just as you love and protect your own life. Isn’t this exactly the most meaningful human life? Where are you going to seek for the meaning of human life? Isn’t this being too blind? Are you willing to love God? Is God worthy of man’s love? Is a man worthy of man’s fondness? Then what should you do? Love God assuredly and boldly, and see what God can do to you and see if he will kill you. In a word, the task of loving God is even more important than copying something for God. You should put the more important thing in the very first place, making your life more valuable and full of joy. Then, await God’s “execution” of you. I wonder if there is the item of loving God in your schedule. May the plan of everyone become one to be perfected by God and become a reality.
74 The crucial point in obeying God is to be able to receive the newest light and to accept and practice it. This is true obedience.
75 If you really want to be perfected, you have to make a resolution, to completely drop all the former things, and even if what was done before was right and was done by God, you should drop it and not hold on to it; even if it was obviously the work of the Holy Spirit and was done directly by the Holy Spirit, today you have to drop it and can by no means hold on to it. This is God’s requirement. Everything should be renewed. When God works and speaks, he does not mention any of the former old things and does not consult the old almanac. God is an ever-new and never-old God. Even what he himself said before he does not hold on to. It can be well seen that God does not keep regulations. You, as a man, always hold on to the former things and do not drop them and apply them as formulas mechanically, while God does not work in the previous ways; then aren’t what you say and do disruptions? Aren’t they hostile to God? Do you want your whole life to be ruined by these old things? Because of these old things, you become a person who disrupts God’s work. Do you want to be such a person? If you really do not want to, you should immediately rein in and turn back and start all over again. Your former service God will not remember.
76 You should know that the testimony of my defeating satan lies in man’s faithfulness and obedience, and the testimony of my thoroughly conquering man also lies in man’s faithfulness and obedience. Your job as a believer in me is to testify for me, be utterly faithful to me, and be obedient to me to the end.
77 With every step of work God does on people, outwardly it seems to be that people are contacting each other and seems to be of man’s arrangement or of man’s disturbance. But behind every step of work and every thing, satan is making a wager before God, and people are required to stand the testimony for him. For example, when Job was tried, behind it satan was making a wager with God, but what came upon Job were man’s doings and man’s disturbances. With every step of work God does on you, behind it satan is making a wager with God, and behind it there is a war. For example, you have a prejudice against a brother or sister, and you want to say something, but you feel that God is not pleased with it and yet you feel disturbed within. At this time, a war starts within you: To say or not to say? This is a war. So with every thing there is a war. When there is a war within you, through your cooperating practically and undergoing sufferings practically, God will work on you. In the end, you will be able to drop this thing within, and naturally your anger will disappear. This is the result of your cooperating with God. In doing everything, you need to expend some painstaking effort and price. Without undergoing sufferings practically, you cannot satisfy God, you can in no way satisfy God, and you are only shouting empty slogans! Could these empty slogans satisfy God? When satan is warring against God in the spiritual realm, how should you satisfy God? How should you stand the testimony for God? You should know that every time a thing comes, it is a great trial to you, and it is the time God needs you to bear a testimony. Outwardly, it seems to you that they are not big things, but when they come, you will be revealed as to whether you love God. If you love God, you can stand the testimony for God. If you do not practice loving God, it shows that you are not a person who practices the truth and you do not have the truth nor have any life and you are chaff! Every time a person encounters a thing, it is the time God needs him to stand the testimony for him. Although now you have not encountered any big thing and do not have to bear any great testimony, all the details of your daily life have to do with God’s testimony. If you can be admired by the brothers and sisters, admired by your family, and admired by all people around you, and one day when the unbelievers come in, if they admire all your actions and behavior and see that what God has done is really so good, this will be a testimony in you. Although you have little insight and are poor in qualities, through God’s perfecting, you can satisfy God and can care for God’s will, and others can see that God has done such a great work on these people who are the poorest in qualities. They have known God, have all become overcomers before satan, and are faithful to God to a degree. So this group of people are the most backboned men. This will be the greatest testimony. Although you cannot do the great work, you can satisfy God. Others cannot drop notions, but you can. Others cannot testify God in their practical experience, but you can repay God’s love by your real stature and actual actions, bearing a resounding testimony for God. This is loving God practically. If you cannot achieve this, then you will have no testimony among your family, among the brothers and sisters, or before the world. If you cannot bear testimony before satan, satan will laugh at you, take you as its playgame and its plaything, and often play tricks on you, causing you to lose your mind. Maybe in the future there will be some great trials to come, but if now you can love God with a true heart, then no matter how great the future trials will be and what things will come, you will be able to stand the testimony and satisfy God. Then your heart will be comforted, and you will not be afraid no matter what great trials you will encounter later. The future things you cannot see clearly; all you can do is to satisfy God in the present situation. And you cannot do any great work; you should pay attention to experiencing God’s word in your practical life to satisfy God and bear a strong and resounding testimony, putting satan to shame. Although your flesh is not satisfied and undergoes suffering, you have satisfied God and put satan to shame. If you always practice this way, God will make a way out for you ahead. One day when great trials come, even if others all fall, you will still be able to stand; because of your price, God will keep you standing, not falling. If at ordinary times you can practice the truth and satisfy God with a heart of truly loving God, God will surely keep you in the future trials. Although you are ignorant, small in stature, and poor in qualities, God will not treat you unfairly. This depends on whether your intent is right. If now you can satisfy God, not letting go even in small things but satisfying God in everything, have a heart of truly loving God, and offer up your true heart to God, and though unable to see through some things, you come before God to right your intent and seek God’s will and do everything for the sake of satisfying God, and maybe the brothers and sisters reject you, but your heart is satisfying God and not hankering after fleshly enjoyment, if you always practice like this, you will be kept when great trials come.
78 Bearing a resounding testimony for God mainly has to do with whether you have the knowledge of the practical God and whether you can be obedient before this ordinary and normal person and even be obedient unto death. If you truly bear a testimony for God with this obedience, it shows that you have been gained by God. If you can be obedient unto death and before him you have no complaint, pass no judgment, do not slander, have no notions, and have no other intents, then God is glorified. Being obedient before an ordinary person despised by people and even being able to be obedient unto death without any notion, this is a true testimony.
79 When God requires man to enter into the reality, he requires that you obey the words he speaks, practice the words he speaks, fall prostrate before the practical God to know your corruptions, and open your heart before him, and in the end you be gained by him through these words. When these words have conquered you, making you completely obedient before him, then God will have gained glory. God will put satan to shame through this and end his work with this.
80 To bear testimony for God and put the great red dragon to shame, there has to be one principle, one condition: You must love God in your heart and must enter into God’s word. If you do not enter into God’s word, you cannot put satan to shame. Through growing up in life, you rebel against the great red dragon and thoroughly put it to shame. This is truly putting the great red dragon to shame.
81 In actual experience, if one can stand the testimony, stand the ground, stand on God’s side and never withdraw, have a normal relationship with those who love God, and obey God completely when encountering things and even obey God unto death, such a person has gained the truth.
82 When men live in the flesh, they are living in hell on earth. Without judgment and chastisement, men are all filthy like satan. How can they be holy? Peter believed: God’s chastisement and God’s judgment are the best keeping and the greatest grace to man. Only if God chastises and judges man can man wake up and hate the flesh and hate satan. God’s strict discipline causes man to break free from satan’s influence and break away from his own little world and live in the light of God’s presence. Chastisement and judgment are indeed the best salvation!
83 If one wants to be purified, be transformed in his disposition, live out a meaningful life, and fulfill his duty as a created being in his life, he has to accept God’s chastisement and judgment and let God’s discipline and smiting not leave him, so that he can break away from satan’s manipulation and satan’s influence and live in God’s light. You should know that God’s chastisement and judgment are the light, the light to save man, and are the best blessing, the greatest grace, and the best keeping to man.
84 From the differences between Peter’s substance and Paul’s, you should know that all those who do not pursue life will pursue in vain. Since you believe in God and follow God, you should have a heart of loving God, cast off your corrupt disposition, pursue to satisfy God’s heart’s desire, and fulfill your duty as a created being. Since you believe in God and follow God, you should consecrate everything for God and should not have your own choice or demand, and you should satisfy God’s heart’s desire. Since you are a created man, you should obey your Creator, because you cannot control yourself and do not have the natural ability to control your own destiny. Since you are a believer in God, you should pursue holiness and transformation. Since you are a created being, you should keep your own duty and know your own place and should not go beyond your duty. This is not to bind you or to suppress you with dogma. Rather, it is a way for you to perform your duty and is what a man who does righteousness can do and should do.
85 Now even if you are not a worker, you should fulfill your duty as a created being, pursue to submit to God’s manipulation in everything, and obey whatever God says, and you should experience any tribulation or refining and, though weak, still love God in your heart. Those who are responsible for their life are the ones who are willing to fulfill their duty as a created being. Such people’s viewpoint of pursuit is right. They are just the kind of people God needs.
86 You may have done many works and others may have received teachings from you, but if you yourself are not transformed and do not have any testimony or true experience, and even before your death you still do not have any testimony in the things you do, are you a transformed man? Are you a pursuer of the truth? At that time the Holy Spirit can use you. When he uses you, he uses the part in you that is fit for work, and he does not use the unusable part. If you pursue to be transformed, he will perfect you gradually in the course of using you. But he will not take the full responsibility as to whether you will be gained in the end. That depends on how you pursue. If you fail to be transformed in your own disposition, it will be because your viewpoint of pursuit is wrong. If you fail to receive a reward, it will be your own business, and it will be because you have not practiced the truth and cannot satisfy God’s heart’s desire. So, your own experience is most important and your own entering in is most crucial! In the end, some people will say, “I have done so many works for you and should be given credit for hard work if not for good work. It is all right even if you just let me go to heaven and eat the fruit of life.” You should know what kind of people I want. No filthy man will be allowed to enter the kingdom, and no filthy man will be allowed to defile the holy place. You may have done many works and have worked for many years, but if you are still extremely filthy in the end, it will be something Heaven forbids that you want to enter my kingdom! From the creation of the world until today, I have never opened such a door of convenience to anyone who curries favor with me. This is a heavenly rule, which no one can break!
87 The most crucial things man should keep today are: Do not deceive or hide anything from the God standing before you; do not speak filthy words and have foolish talk in the presence of the God before you; do not speak sweet words to win the trust of the God before you; do not behave irreverently before God, obey all the words from God’s mouth, and do not oppose, resist, or dispute; do not interpret at will the words from God’s mouth, and watch your tongue lest you fall into the schemes of the wicked because of your tongue; watch your steps lest you overstep the boundary God sets for you and speak arrogant words in God’s position and thus be loathed by God; do not pass at will the words from God’s mouth lest you be scoffed by others and fooled by the devil; obey all God’s work of today, and even if you do not understand it, you must not judge it but should only seek fellowship about it; no one shall overstep God’s original position, and you can only serve the God of today in the position of man, and cannot instruct the God of today in the position of man, which is a wrong doing; no one shall stand in the position of the God-testified man, and you must speak and act and think and consider in the place of man, and this is what man should keep and is man’s responsibility, which no one shall alter, and this is something offending God’s administration, and everyone should remember it.
88 Man must keep many duties man should perform. They are what man should keep and what man must do. Let the Holy Spirit do what he ought to do, in which man cannot have a hand. And man should keep what man should do, which has nothing to do with the Holy Spirit. It is completely what man should do, and man should keep it as commandments, as man kept the laws in the Old Testament. Although now is not the Age of the Law, there are still many words like those of the Age of the Law that man should keep. Man should not just rely on the Holy Spirit’s moving to keep them, but they are what man should keep. For example: Do not judge the work done by the practical God; do not resist the God-testified man; keep your place and do not be unrestrained before God; speak in a proper way, and act and speak according to the arrangements of the God-testified man; fear God’s testimony and do not neglect God’s work or the word from God’s mouth; do not imitate God’s tones and purposes of speaking; do not do anything outwardly that obviously resists the God-testified man. And so on. All these are what everyone should keep. … Although now is the Age of the Kingdom, there are still many regulations for man to keep. The past regulations have become inapplicable. Now there are a lot of more suitable practices for man to keep. They are necessary and do not involve the working of the Holy Spirit and are what man must keep.
89 In every word I speak there is contained God’s disposition. You might investigate it carefully, and then you will surely gain a lot. God’s substance is very hard to fathom, yet as for God’s disposition, I believe that you all might have known something about it! Then I hope that you will do more things that do not offend God’s disposition for me to see. In that case my heart will be at rest. For example, you put God in your heart all the time, do things according to his words, and seek his will in everything. Do not do things that disrespect and dishonor God, much less put God behind your mind to fill the future emptiness in your heart. If you do so, you will offend God’s disposition. Again, for example, you never speak words of blaspheming and complaining against God in all your life. Again, for example, in all your life you can do properly the things God commits to you and can obey all God’s words. In that case, you will have achieved not offending the administrative decrees.
90 Only when one knows God will he have true faith in God, and only when one knows God will he have true fear of and true obedience to God. Those who do not know God will never have true obedience to and true fear of God. Knowing God’s disposition, understanding God’s will, and knowing God’s being are all included in knowing God. However, knowing any of these requires people to pay a great price and have the will to obey. Otherwise, no one can follow to the end. God’s work is greatly discordant with man’s notions. God’s disposition and God’s being are very difficult for man to know. God’s every word and deed and every act and move are really very hard for man to understand. If one wants to follow God but is not willing to obey God, he will gain nothing.
91 Knowing God’s substance is not child’s play. It requires you to know God’s disposition. In this way, unconsciously you will gradually have knowledge of God’s substance. At the same time when you have the knowledge, you will stride toward a higher and more beautiful state. In the end, you will feel ashamed of your ugly soul and even more feel too ashamed to show your face. At that time, your deeds that offend God’s disposition will become fewer and fewer, your heart will become closer and closer to God’s heart, and you will gradually have adoration for God. That will be a symbol of mankind entering into a beautiful state. But now you have not reached it. You all are busy rushing about for the sake of your destiny, so who would have the mind to know God’s substance? If this continues for long, you all will unconsciously do things that offend the administrative decrees, because you know too little about God’s disposition. So isn’t what you are doing now laying a foundation in preparation for offending God’s disposition? My requiring you to know God’s disposition is not divorced from my work, because if you often offend the administrative decrees, who of you can escape the punishment? In that case, won’t all my work be futile? So, I require you to guard your steps besides watching your doings. This is my higher requirement for you. I hope that you all will think about it carefully and take it seriously. If one day your doings provoke me to a towering rage, then its consequences will be left only for you to consider, and no one will bear the punishment for you.
92 To be honest means to give the heart to God, not to play false with him in anything, to be open with him in everything, not to hide the facts, not to be one who cheats those above and deludes those below, and not to do things of merely currying favor with God. In a word, to be honest means to do things and speak without impurity and not to cheat God or cheat others. … If you have many privacies and feel it hard to speak them out, and if you are very unwilling to lay open to others your secrets, that is, your difficulties, so as to seek the way of light, I say that you are one who is very hard to be saved and you are one who can hardly come up out of the darkness. If you like very much to seek the way of truth, you are one who always lives in the light. If you are very willing to be a service-doer in God’s family, working in obscurity, laboring diligently, and demanding nothing but only making contributions, I say that you are a faithful saint, because you expect no reward but only seek to be an honest person. If you are willing to be candid, if you are willing to fully spend your whole being, if you can sacrifice your life for God and stand testimony, and if you are so honest a person that you only know to satisfy God but do not think about yourself or demand anything for yourself, I say that such people are ones who are nourished in the light and who will live forever in the kingdom.
93 I appreciate very much those who have no suspicion about others and like very much those who are willing to accept the truth. Toward these people, I show much care, because these two kinds of people are honest people in my eyes. If you are a very crafty person, you will have guard against and suspicion about everything and everyone. So your belief in me is also based on suspicion. Such a belief can never be acknowledged by me. Since you do not have a true belief, much less do you have a truer love. You even doubt God and even suspect him at will, so you are undoubtedly a most crafty person.
94 God likes those who can be absolute to him and those who can be utterly faithful to him, and loathes those who treat him half-heartedly and those who disobey him. He loathes those who always want to enjoy him in believing in him but cannot spend for him unreservedly, loathes those who love him with their lips but disobey him in their heart, and loathes those who practice deception with fine words.
95 I see that you have done a great many things unrelated to the truth in your life. So, I particularly require you all to be the servants of the truth; do not be the slaves of evil and ugliness, and do not trample the truth or defile any corner of God’s house. This is my admonition to you.
96 Many people would rather go to hell than speak honest words and do honest things. So, it is no wonder that I deal with these dishonest people differently. Of course, I know very well how difficult it is for you to be an honest person. As you all are very shrewd and very good at gauging the heart of a gentleman by your own mean measure, my work is much simpler. As you all keep your secrets in your heart, well, I will put each one of you into the disasters to receive the “teaching” of fire. After that, you will believe my words “steadyheartedly.” In the end, I will squeeze such a word out of your mouth: “God is a faithful God.” And then you will beat your breasts weeping, “Man’s heart is too crafty.” How will you feel at that time? You will not be so pleased with yourselves as you are now, will you? You will even less be so “unfathomable” as you are now, will you? Some people are well-behaved and especially “honest” before God, but they act wildly before the Spirit. Will you put such ones among the group of honest people?
97 You do not adore Christ’s humbleness, but revere the false shepherds in prominent positions; you do not love Christ’s loveliness and Christ’s wisdom, but like the licentious men who wallow in the mire with the world; you just laugh at Christ’s suffering of having no place to lay his head, but admire the corpses that hunt for offerings and live in luxury and debauchery; you are not willing to suffer with Christ, but are willing to throw yourself into the bosom of those antichrists who act willfully and recklessly, although what they supply you with are only flesh, letters, and control. Even now your heart is still toward them, toward their fame, toward their position in the hearts of all the satans, toward their influence, and toward their authority. And toward Christ’s work, you still take an attitude that you can hardly accept it and do not want to accept it. This is why I say that you do not have the “belief” of acknowledging Christ.
98 You always half believe the words spoken by Christ and cannot practice them immediately, and this is the reason why you do not “believe” in Christ. You always have notions about Christ, and this is also the reason why you do not believe in Christ. You always hold an unbelieving attitude toward the work done by Christ and always turn a deaf ear to Christ’s words; whatever Christ does, you have critical views and cannot understand it properly, and no matter how it is explained, you can hardly drop your notions; and so on. All these are the elements of unbelief mixed in your hearts.
99 If you only want your good dream to come true, then you should never dream but always face the truth and face the fact. This is the only way for you to be saved. Then what are the specific steps of this way?
First, make an examination of all your transgressions and make an examination of all your deeds and thoughts that are discordant with the truths.
… The ones I speak to are those who are approved by God, who are honest, and who have not seriously offended the administrative decrees, and are those who can easily find their transgressions. This requirement I make of you is very easy to meet, but it is not my only requirement for you. Anyway, I hope that you will not secretly laugh at my requirement, much less slight or despise this requirement of mine; treat it seriously and do not be casual about it.
Second, find out the relevant truths to resolve each of your transgressions and disobediences. Then, replace your transgressions and your disobedient thoughts and deeds with your practice of the truths.
Third, be an honest person, do not act in a slick way, and do not be a crafty person. (This is another time I require you to be an honest person.)
When you have met these three requirements, you will be very fortunate, and you will be one whose good dream has come true and who receives a good fortune. Maybe you will treat these three ordinary requirements very seriously, or maybe you will look at these requirements very irresponsibly. Anyway, my purpose is to fulfill your dream and realize your ideal, not to make fun of you or make a fool of you.
100 Blessings cannot be gained in one or two days. You have to pay much price. That is, you have to have a refined love, have a great faith, and have the many truths God requires you to live up to, you have to be able to stand with justice, not bending or swerving, and have to have a heart that loves God without change even unto death, and you need to have the will, have your life disposition transformed and your corruptions cured, and accept all God’s manipulations without complaint and even be able to obey unto death. These are what you should achieve, are God’s ultimate purpose, and are God’s requirements for this group of people.
101 Now you all should examine as soon as possible how many elements of betraying me there are still in you. I am waiting for your answers anxiously. None of you should deal with me perfunctorily. I never play games with man. What I can say I will surely do. I hope that you all will be a person who treats my words seriously. Do not think that my words are just science fiction. What I want are your actual actions, not your imaginations. Next, you all should answer me such questions: 1. If you are truly a service-doer, can you do service for me faithfully without any perfunctoriness and passive elements? 2. If you learn that I have never appreciated you, can you stay and do service for me all your life? 3. If you have exerted much effort but I am still very indifferent toward you, can you continue to do things for me in obscurity? 4. If after you have expended something for me, your small request is not satisfied by me, will you be discouraged and disappointed with me and even be full of resentments and shout abuse? 5. If you have been very faithful and have much love for me all along, but you suffer the torment of illness, poverty in life, and also desertion by your relatives and friends or any misfortune in life, can your faithfulness and love to me continue? 6. If all that you imagine in your heart is incompatible with what I do, how should you walk your future way? 7. If you fail to receive anything you hope for, can you continue to be my follower? 8. If you never understand the purpose and significance of my work, can you be an obedient person, not passing judgment on or drawing conclusions about it at will? 9. Can you treasure all the words and works I speak and do when I am together with man? 10. Can you be my faithful follower and be willing to suffer for me all your life even if you will gain nothing? 11. Can you for my sake not consider, plan, or prepare your future path of living? These questions are my last requirements for you. I hope that you all will answer me.
102 If your goal of pursuit is not to seek the truth, then it would be better for you to take this opportunity to return to the world and do something splendid. It is really not worthwhile for you to idle away your time like this. Why torment yourself like this? What thing in the wonderful world could not be an enjoyment to you? Aren’t all the products of the world, such as money, beauty, position, vainglory, family, children, etc., the best things for you to enjoy? Why should you go around here looking for a place to live comfortably? Even the Son of man has no place to lay his head, so how could you have a comfortable place? How could he create a wonderful and comfortable place for you? Is it possible? What you receive from me today are only the teachings of the truth besides judgments. You cannot possibly receive from me ease and comfort, nor can you possibly receive the cozy nest you expect day and night. I will not bestow to you the worldly wealth and honor. If you pursue genuinely, I am willing to bestow all the ways of life to you and let you feel just like a fish in water. If you do not pursue genuinely, I will take everything back. I do not want to bestow the word of my mouth to those like swine and dogs who seek ease and comfort!
103 Aren’t all those who live outside my word and escape the suffering from trials wandering in the world? They drift about like the fallen leaves in late autumn and do not have a place to rest, much less have my words of comfort. Although they are not accompanied by my chastisement and refining, aren’t they beggars drifting about and roving the streets outside the kingdom of heaven? Is the world truly your place of rest? Can you really receive a gratified smile from the world by escaping my chastisement? Can you really cover the unconcealable emptiness in your heart with your temporary enjoyment?
104 Man’s criterion for judging a person is according to his deeds: He whose deeds are good is a righteous one and he whose deeds are evil is a wicked one. But God’s criterion for judging a person is according to whether he obeys God in substance: He who obeys God is a righteous one and he who does not obey God is an enemy and an evil one, regardless of whether his deeds are good or bad or whether his words are right or wrong. Some people want to obtain the future pleasant destination by good deeds, and some want to buy it with nice words. People all mistakenly think that God will decide a person’s outcome by his deeds or his words. So, many people want to receive some temporary grace by deception with those things. Those who are kept alive in the future rest will all be the ones who have passed through the days of suffering and have borne testimony for God, who have fulfilled man’s duty, and who have a mind to obey God. Those who only want to take advantage of doing service to be exempted from practicing the truth are all the ones who cannot remain.
105 No one knows such a truth: My word is the never-changing truth, and I am man’s life supply and the only guide for mankind; the value and the significance of my word are not determined by whether mankind acknowledges and accepts it but by the substance of my word itself; even if no one in this world can receive my word, the value of my word and its help to mankind cannot be estimated by anyone. So, toward many people who disobey my word, who argue against my word, or who simply do not have any regard for my word, my attitude is just this: Let time and facts be my testimony, testifying that my word is the truth, the way, and the life, and testifying that everything I say is right, is what man should possess, and even more is what man should accept. I will cause all those who follow me to know such a fact: Those who cannot fully accept my word, those who cannot practice my word, those who cannot find their goals in my word, and those who cannot receive salvation through my word, are all the ones condemned by my word and are even more the ones losing my salvation, and my rod will never leave them.
106 Now, as long as you have a gleam of hope, regardless of whether God remembers the past things, you should have this kind of mind: I must pursue to have my disposition transformed and pursue to know God. I should never again let myself fall into satan’s trap and should never again do things that bring shame to God’s name.
107 Some people are in a passive state now, but they still perform their duty with the attitude that “I will be faithful to God for the last time, regardless of what outcome I will have.” I say, this is transformation. But you yourselves are unaware of it. In fact, if you make a careful examination, you will find that some of your corrupt dispositions have been transformed. However, you always measure yourself by the highest required standard. As a result, you not only cannot reach the highest standard, but on the contrary you deny the transformation you have gained. This is man’s fault. If you are really a person who is clear about what is right and wrong, you may examine the transformation in you. You will not only see your transformation but also find the ways for you to practice in the future. Then you will see that as long as you strive hard, there is still hope for you, and you are not a person beyond salvation. Now I tell you: He who treats the problems in him properly is hopeful and can come out of the passive state.
108 Do not be a person who follows passively, and do not be a person who pursues curious things. Your being lukewarm like this will ruin you and spoil your life. You should break away from such a passive and inactive state, and know how to pursue positive things and how to overcome your weak points so as to gain the truth and live out the truth. Your weaknesses are not to be feared, and your defects are not your biggest problem. But your lukewarm heart of not seeking the truth is your biggest problem and biggest defect. The biggest problem with every one of you is your cowardly mind of being content with your present situation and waiting passively. This is the greatest hindrance to you and the greatest enemy to your pursuing the truth.
109 A truly wise person will have this attitude: Regardless of what God does, how God treats me, and how corrupt I am and what my humanity is like, I should pursue the truth and pursue to know God perseveringly! This is the direction of man’s life and is what man should pursue to achieve. This is the only way to be saved.
110 We should have a resolution: No matter how harsh the environment we encounter, what difficulty we encounter, and how weak and passive we are, we cannot lose faith in the transformation of our disposition or in the words God speaks. God gives man promises and man needs to have a resolution and the willpower to inherit them. God doesn’t like a coward. God likes one who has a resolution. Even if you have expressed many corruptions, and even if you have taken many detours, have committed many transgressions along the way, or have once resisted God, or even if some people ever had some blasphemies, complaints, or resistance against God in their heart, God doesn’t look at these. God only looks at whether one can be transformed one day.
111 Don’t be disheartened. Don’t be weak. I will reveal it to you. It is not so smooth on the way to the kingdom. There is not so easy a thing! You want to gain blessings in a breeze, don’t you? Today, everyone will have painful trials. Otherwise, your heart of loving me will not be strengthened, and you will not have a true love for me. Even if it is a little environment, everyone has to go through it. It is only that the degree is different.
112 Maybe you all remember this word: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” In the past, you all heard this word, but none of you understood its true meaning. Today, you deeply know its real meaning. This word will be accomplished by God in the end time, and it will be accomplished in people in the dwelling place of the great red dragon who are cruelly persecuted by the great red dragon. Because the great red dragon is the persecutor of God and the enemy of God, people in this place all suffer humiliations and persecutions for believing in God. So, this word is accomplished in you group of people. Because the work is carried out in the place that resists God, all God’s work is greatly hindered, and many of God’s words cannot be accomplished in time. Thus people suffer refining because of God’s word. This is also a part of the “affliction.” It is very difficult for God to carry out his work in the place of the great red dragon, but through this “difficulty” God does a stage of his work and manifests his wisdom and his wonderful deeds, and through this opportunity he will make this group of people complete. Through the affliction people suffer, through people’s qualities, and through all the satanic disposition of people in this filthy place, God does his purifying and conquering work, from which he will gain glory and gain those who testify his deeds; this is the full significance of God paying all the price for this group of people. That is to say, God does the conquering work just through the people who resist him. Therefore, only by doing so can God’s great power be manifested, that is, only people in the filthy place are qualified to inherit God’s glory, and only in this way can God’s great power be set off. So, it is from the filthy place and from people in the filthy place that God gains glory. This is God’s will.
113 Now is the time we should requite God’s love. Although we have suffered many ridicules, slanders, and persecutions because of walking the path of believing in God, I think it is a meaningful thing and is a glory, not a shame, and anyway, we have also enjoyed a lot of blessings. So many times when we were disappointed, God’s word comforted us, and we changed from sorrowful to joyful; so many times when we were lacking, God blessed us, and we were enriched because of God’s word; so many times when we were ill, God’s word enlivened us, and we were out of danger and got well. And so on. All of these we have enjoyed without knowing it. Could it be that you do not remember any of them?
114 Rise up to cooperate with me! I will surely not shortchange anyone who truly spends for me. Anyone who truly consecrates for me, all my blessings will be bestowed to you. Offer up your whole being for me! Your eating and clothing and your future are all in my hand. I will make proper arrangements, so that they will never be exhausted for you to enjoy and use. This is because I have said: “Anyone who truly spends for me, I will surely greatly bless you.” All blessings will come upon all those who truly spend for me.
115 The disposition of normal men does not contain crookedness and craftiness, and they have a normal relationship with others and do not act independently, do not live a vulgar or rotten life, and exalt God among all people and have God’s word permeated among all people. They live in harmony with one another and all live under God’s care and keeping. The earth is full of harmony and is free from satan’s disturbance. Among people they all can take God’s glory as the fundamental thing. Such people are all like angels, simple and lively, and they never utter complaints to God, but just dedicate all they can for the sake of God’s glory on earth.
116 Man’s requirement for himself is not high, but his requirement for others is quite high. Others should be patient and forbearing with him, care for him, supply him, smile at him, tolerate him, humor him, and take care of him in many respects, and should not be severe with him at all, not irritate him at all, and not do anything he considers bad. Man’s sense is too poor! What position man should stand in, what man should do, what man should achieve, what viewpoint man should have, what position man should stand in when serving God, what is the proper position man should put himself in, none of these things is clear to man. Those who have some position consider themselves very high, those who have no position also consider themselves very high. People never know themselves. When you reach the point where no matter what I speak to you, how severe I am with you, or how I ignore you, you can still follow and believe, do not complain, and still perform your duty as before, then you will be a mature and experienced one, really having some stature and having some sense of a normal man, and you will no longer demand anything from God, no longer have extravagant desires, and no longer impose requirements on others or on God according to your own liking. This will mean that you have some likeness of man. Now you demand too much and too excessively. You have too much of human will, and this proves that you stand in a wrong position. You stand in so high a position and consider yourself so honorable, as if you were only a little lower than God. So, you are an impossible person. This is exactly the nature of satan.
117 Those who only plan for their flesh and like ease, those who half believe, those who practice witch-doctoring and sorcery, those who indulge in adultery and are utterly ragged, those who steal Jehovah’s offerings and steal Jehovah’s property, those who like bribery, those who dream of going to heaven, those who are arrogant and self-conceited and just contend for fame and gain, those who spread disdainful words, those who blaspheme God Godself, those who engage in judging and slandering God Godself, those who form factions and seek independence, those who exalt themselves more than God, those frivolous young men, young women, and middleaged or old men and women who fall into adultery, those men and women who like personal fame and gain and pursue personal position among people, aren’t all such people who fall into sin and never repent irredeemable ones?
118 You adorn yourselves like this; are you not afraid of sinking deeper and deeper? Don’t you know that you belonged to sin originally? Don’t you know that your whole being is filled with lusts? So much so that your lusts even ooze out through your clothes, revealing your extremely ugly manner like that of unclean spirits. Aren’t you yourselves most clear about these? Haven’t your heart, your eyes, and your lips been defiled by unclean spirits? Aren’t they all filthy? You think that you are most pure as long as you do not have an affair, and you think that you can cover up your ugly soul by being gorgeously dressed. That is impossible! I advise you to pay some attention to the reality and not to behave affectedly or show off your charms. You flirt with one another, and what you get will be eternal sufferings and ruthless smitings! Why should you ogle at and be in love with one another? Is it your integrity? Is it your uprightness and tenacity? I loathe those among you who practice witch-doctoring and sorcery and loathe those boys and girls among you who adore their flesh. You’d better restrain it, because now you are required to have a normal humanity and not required to flirt with one another. You always try to seize every possible chance, because you are too fleshly and your lusts are too strong!
119 Actually, the “truth” is the most practical and the highest maxim of life for mankind. Because it is God’s requirement for man and is the work done by God personally, it is called the “maxim of life.” Such maxim is not something summed up or famous remarks of a great man, but the utterance to mankind from the Ruler of the heavens and the earth and all things. It is not words summed up by man in any way but is God’s original life. So it is called the “highest maxim of life.”
120 What is judgment and what is truth, have you understood? If you have understood, I advise you to receive judgment submissively. Otherwise, you will never have the opportunity to receive God’s approval or have the opportunity to be brought by God into his kingdom. Those who only receive judgment but can never be purified, that is, those who run away in the work of judgment, will be detested and rejected by God forever. Their sins are graver and more than those of the Pharisees, because they have betrayed God and they are rebels of God. These people who are not even worthy to do service will suffer a severer punishment, an eternal punishment. God will not let off any betrayer who was once faithful to him in word but betrays him. Such people will receive the retribution that their spirit, soul, and body are all punished. Isn’t this the very expression of God’s righteous disposition? Isn’t this the very purpose of God’s judging and exposing man? God puts those who do all kinds of evil during the judgment in the place inhabited by swarms of evil spirits and lets them ravage their flesh at will. Their flesh gives off the smell of corpses. This is their deserved retribution. God lists all kinds of sins of the unfaithful false believers, false apostles, and false workers in their record book, and at the proper time, casts them among the unclean spirits, letting the unclean spirits defile their whole body at will, so that they can never be reincarnated and can never see the light again. God classes with the wicked the hypocrites who once did service for some time but who are not faithful to the end, leaving them wallowing in the mire with the wicked and becoming a mob, and will destroy them in the end. God leaves aside and never pays attention to those who have never been faithful to Christ or never dedicated any strength, and will destroy them all when the age is renewed, so they will no longer live on the earth, much less enter into God’s kingdom. God classes those who are never sincere to him but deal with him perfunctorily under compulsion with those who do service for his people; only a small number of them can remain alive, and the majority will be destroyed with those who are not even up to the standard in doing service. Finally, God will bring into his kingdom all those who are of one heart and one mind with him, his people and sons and those whom he has predestined to be priests. All these are the crystallization God gains in his work. But those who do not fall into any of the kinds God lists will all be classed with the unbelievers. You can imagine what their outcome will be. I have spoken to you all that I ought to. Which way to choose is completely up to you. You should understand such a word: God’s work never waits for anyone who cannot keep up with his pace, and God’s righteous disposition is merciless toward anyone.
121 The truth means the life disposition of the normal humanity, which is what God required of man when he first created man, that is, all the normal humanity (including human sense, insight, wisdom, and the common sense in conducting oneself). That is, you need to see whether this way leads people into the normal human living, whether the truth expressed in it is required of man according to the reality of the normal humanity, and whether the truth is realistic, practical, and most timely. If it has the truth, it can lead people into the normal and practical experiences, and people will become more and more normal, their human sense will become more and more complete, their physical living and spiritual living will become more and more regulated, and their feelings of pleasure, anger, sorrow, and joy will become more and more normal. This is the second aspect. The third aspect is to see whether people will have more and more knowledge of God and through experiencing such work and truth whether their heart of loving God can be stirred up and they can have a closer and closer relationship with God. By these you will be able to judge whether it is the true way. The most basic is whether this way is realistic and not supernatural and whether it can be man’s life supply. If a way meets these several conditions, it can be concluded that it is the true way.
122 Pursuing to perform the duty of a created being initiatively is the way to success, pursuing to truly love God is the most right way, and pursuing to have the old disposition transformed and to love God purely is the way to success. The way to success that is spoken of is the way for created beings to be recovered to their original duty and original likeness. It is a way of recovery and is also the purpose of all the work God has been doing from beginning to end.
123 It is in the course of performing his duty that one is transformed gradually, and it is also in the course of performing his duty that one’s faithfulness is revealed. So, the more you can perform your duty, the more truths you will gain, and the more practical your expressions will be. Those who just perform their duty perfunctorily and do not seek the truth will still be eliminated in the end, because they are not performing their duty in the course of practicing the truth and they do not practice the truth in the course of performing their duty. Such people are the ones not transformed who will suffer disasters. What they express is not only with mixtures, but all that they express is evil.
124 Man’s duty has nothing to do with whether he will receive blessings or suffer disasters. Duty is what man should do and is man’s mission, and man should perform it without seeking rewards, bargaining over terms, or reasoning. Only this is performing duty. Receiving blessings means that one will enjoy blessings because he is perfected after being judged. Suffering disasters means that one will suffer punishment because he is not transformed in his disposition, that is, is not perfected, after being chastised and judged. However, regardless of whether one will receive blessings or suffer disasters, as a created being, he should fulfill his duty and do what he should do and do what he can do. This is what a man, a man who pursues God, should at least live up to. You should not perform your duty for the sake of receiving blessings or refuse to perform your duty for fear of suffering disasters. I say this word to you: If one can perform his duty, that is what he should do; if one cannot perform his duty, it is his disobedience. It is in the course of performing his duty that one is transformed gradually, and it is also in the course of performing his duty that one’s faithfulness is revealed. So, the more you can perform your duty, the more truths you will gain, and the more practical your expressions will be.
125 For man to perform his duty actually means for him to do all that he originally has, that is, all that he is able to do. Then, he will have fulfilled his duty. As to the defects in his service, they will gradually decrease in his progressive experience and in the course of his experiencing judgment, and they will not hinder or affect his duty. If anyone stops serving or draws back and gives in for fear that there will be defects in his service, he is a most cowardly person. If in his service one cannot express what he should express and cannot do what he is able to do, but acts deceitfully and perfunctorily, he has lost the function he should have as a created being. Such a person is a so-called “good-for-nothing” and is a useless one. How could such a person be called a worthy created being? Isn’t he a rotten thing that is fair without and foul within?
126 Everyone should pursue to live out a meaningful life. Do not be content with your present situation. To live out the image of Peter, you have to have Peter’s knowledge and Peter’s experience. You should pursue higher and deeper things, pursue to love God more deeply and more purely, and pursue a worthy and meaningful life. Only this is human life, and only such a person is one like Peter. You should pay attention to initiatively entering in on the positive side. Do not be passive and draw back for being content with temporary ease while neglecting the deeper and more detailed and practical truths. You should have a practical love. You should make every effort to break free from such a fallen and carefree life like an animal’s and live out a meaningful life and a worthy life. Do not fool yourself, and do not play with your life as a toy. With everyone who has the will and loves God, there is no truth he cannot gain, and there is no justice he cannot stand up for. How should you live your whole life? How should you love God so as to satisfy God’s heart’s desire? These are the greatest things in your whole life. Most importantly, you should have such a will and such perseverance. Do not be a spineless weakling. You should learn to experience a meaningful life and experience meaningful truths. Do not treat yourself perfunctorily like this. After your life glides away imperceptibly, will you still have such an opportunity to love God? Is it possible for man to love God after his death? You should have the will and the conscience like Peter’s and should live with meaning. Do not trifle with yourself! As a man, a man who pursues God, you should think about and treat your life seriously: how you should consecrate yourself to God, how you should believe in God more meaningfully, and since you love God, how you should love God more purely, more beautifully, and more perfectly. Now you should not just be content to be conquered, but should consider how to walk your future path. You should have the will and the courage to be perfected. Do not always think that you cannot make it. Will the truth show partiality to anyone? Will the truth oppose anyone purposely? If you pursue the truth, will the truth press you down? If you stand up for justice, will justice knock you down? If you really have the will to pursue life, will life shun you? You do not have the truth, not because the truth ignores you but because you stay away from the truth; you cannot stand up for justice, not because justice makes a mistake but because you think that justice distorts the fact; you fail to gain life after pursuing for years, not because life is conscienceless toward you but because you are conscienceless toward life and you banish life; you live in the light but fail to gain the light, not because the light fails to light you up but because you do not pay attention to the existence of the light at all and the light thus leaves quietly. You do not pursue, and this can only mean that you are a worthless wretch, you do not have the courage to live, you do not have the spirit to rebel against the force of darkness, and you are too cowardly! You cannot break free from the siege of satanic forces and are willing to live your whole life peacefully and die ignorant like this. You pursue to be conquered, and this is what you should do and is the obligation you should fulfill. If you content yourself with being conquered, you are banishing the existence of the light. You should suffer for the truth, devote yourself for the truth, endure humiliations for the truth, and endure more and more afflictions so as to gain more and more truths. This is what you should do. Do not discard the truth for the sake of enjoying the harmony of your family. Do not lose your life’s dignity and integrity for the sake of temporary enjoyment. You should pursue all the beautiful and good things and pursue a more meaningful path of life. Living such a vulgar life and not having any goal to pursue, aren’t you idling your life away? What can you gain? You should give up all your fleshly enjoyments for one truth. You should not discard all the truths for the sake of a little enjoyment. Such a person has no integrity, no dignity, and no meaning to his living!
127 The biggest problem with man is that he always has his destiny and future on his heart, which have become his idol. Men all pursue God for the sake of their destiny and future, but they do not worship God out of love for God. So, for man to be conquered, man’s selfishness and greed and the things of man that hinder him the most from worshiping God have to be dealt with. In this way, the result of conquering man will be achieved. So, when conquering man in the beginning, God has to first rid man of his ambitions and his most fatal things, thereby revealing man’s heart of loving God, changing man’s knowledge of human life, changing man’s views about God, and changing the meaning of man’s existence. Then, man’s heart of loving God will be pure; that is, man’s heart will be conquered.
128 I wish that you, in my word, touch my will for you and no longer think about your own future, but do as you say in your resolution made before me “to submit to God’s manipulation in everything.” All those who stand in my house should do all you can and offer your best portion for the last part of my work on earth. Are you really willing to practice this way?
129 Whether a person genuinely pursues does not depend on what others say about him or how the surrounding people look at him. Rather, it depends on whether he has the working of the Holy Spirit and the presence of the Holy Spirit and depends even more on whether he has some transformation in his disposition and has some knowledge of God after the Holy Spirit works on him for a period of time. If one has the working of the Holy Spirit, his disposition will be gradually transformed and his knowledge about the viewpoint of believing in God will become purer and purer. No matter how long a person has followed, as long as he has transformation, it means that he has the working of the Holy Spirit; if he has no transformation, it means that he has no working of the Holy Spirit. Even if such a person does service, he is driven by his intent of receiving blessings. Doing service occasionally cannot be a substitute for the transformation of his disposition, and in the end he will still be one to perish. This is because in the kingdom, there is no need of service-doers and no need for anyone whose disposition is not transformed to wait upon the perfected ones who are faithful to God.
130 The transformation in disposition means that you have knowledge and experiences in the truth and the truth becomes your life. Before, you understood the truth in a matter, but you could not put it into practice, which means that for you, the truth seemed to be doctrine, and you understood it but did not retain it. Now you have the transformation in your disposition. You not only understand the truth, but also can act according to the truth. You can drop now what you liked in the past and can drop what you want to do, your imaginations, and your notions. You can drop now what you could not drop in the past. This means that you have been transformed in your disposition, and this is also the process of the transformation in disposition.
131 One day when one experiences to an extent that his outlook on life, the meaning of his existence, and the foundation of his existence have all changed, that is, he has been thoroughly remolded and has become a new man, this will be amazing! This will be a great change, a tremendous change. For the worldly fame and gain, position, money, pleasure, and wealth and honor, you feel it makes no difference to you whether you have them or not, and you can easily drop these things. Then you will be a person who has human likeness. The ones made complete in the end will be such a group of people, who live for the truth, live for God, and live for the just things. Such is human likeness.
132 Only if one knows God and has the truth does it mean that he lives in the light; and only if his world outlook and outlook on life are changed does it mean that he has a fundamental change. He has the goal of life and conducts himself by the truth, absolutely obeys God and lives by God’s word, feels assured and brightened deep in his heart, has no darkness in his heart, and lives before God in a completely released and free way. Only then has he gained the true human life and is he a person who has the truth. Besides, the truths you have are from God’s word and from God. The Ruler of the entire universe and all things—God Most High—approves you, saying that you are a real man and you truly live out the human life. Isn’t it most meaningful that God approves you?
133 All people should understand the purpose of my work on earth, that is, what I want to gain in the end through my work and to what extent I will do my work before it ends. If people, having followed me until today, do not understand what my work is, haven’t they followed me in vain? People, following me, should know what my will is. I have been working on earth for thousands of years, and today I am still doing my work like this. Although my work includes a great many items, its purpose remains unchanged. For example, although I am full of judgment and chastisement toward people, my purpose is still to save them and is still to make them complete and then better spread my gospel and better spread my work among all the Gentile nations. So, today when many people have long become greatly disappointed, I am still continuing my work, still doing the work I ought to do to judge and chastise people. Although people are all tired of my word, and although they all have no heart to pay attention to my work, I am still doing the work within my ministry, because the purpose of my work will not change and my original plan will not be broken. My judgment is for people to better obey me, and my chastisement is for people to be better transformed. Although all that I do is for the sake of my management, none of my works is not beneficial to people, because I will make the nations outside Israel as obedient as Israel and make them real men, so that I will also have a footing outside Israel. This is my management and is my work among the Gentile nations. Even today many people still do not understand my management, because they do not care about it but rather care about their own future and destination. No matter what I say, they are still indifferent to my work and are only concerned about their destination of tomorrow. If this continues, how could my work be spread? How could my gospel be preached to the whole world? You should know that when my work is spread, I will scatter you, and I will strike you as Jehovah struck all the tribes of Israel. All this is for the purpose that my gospel will be spread throughout the earth and my work will be spread among the Gentile nations, so that my name will be honored as great by adults and children and my holy name will be praised in the mouth of people of every nation and race. In this final age, I will let my name be called great among the Gentile nations and let people in the Gentile nations see my deeds and call me the Almighty because of my deeds, so that the words of my mouth will be fulfilled soon. I will let all people know that I am not only the God of the Israelites, but also the God of people of all the Gentile nations, even the nations cursed by me. I will let all people see that I am the God of all created beings. This is my greatest work, is the purpose of the plan of my work in the end time, and is the only work I will accomplish in the end time.
Only in the end time have I completely revealed to people the work I have been managing for thousands of years. Only today have I completely disclosed to people all the mysteries of my management. They have known the purpose of my work and even more known all my mysteries. And I have told them everything about men’s destinations which they are concerned about. I have disclosed to them all my mysteries which have been hidden for more than five thousand nine hundred years. Who is Jehovah? Who is Messiah? Who is Jesus? You should know about all these. The turning points of my work all lie in these several names. Have you known this? How should you proclaim my holy name? How should you preach my name to any nation that once called upon any of my names? My work has been spreading, and I will spread all my work to every nation. As all my work has been done on you, I will strike you as Jehovah struck the shepherds of the house of David in Israel, so that you will be scattered among all nations, because in the end time I will crush all the nations and divide their people into new nations and groups. When I return again, all the nations will have already been delimited by my burning fire. At that time, I will reappear to people as the burning sun, appear to them publicly in the image of the Holy One which they have never seen, and walk among all nations as I Jehovah walked among all the Jewish tribes. From then on, I will lead people to live on earth, and they will surely see my glory on it and see a pillar of cloud leading their life from the sky, for I appear in the holy place. People will see the day of my righteousness and will also see my glorious appearing. That will be the time I reign on all the earth and also the time I lead many sons into glory. People will all prostrate themselves on all the earth. My tabernacle will surely be established among them and will be built on the rock of my work of today. And they will all serve me in the temple. The altar heaped with filthy and detestable things will surely be smashed and rebuilt by me, and the firstborn lambs and calves will surely be heaped on the holy altar. As I will destroy the temple of today, I will surely rebuild it. The temple of today which is filled with detestable people will surely collapse, and the temple I build will surely be filled with servants who are faithful to me. They will stand up again to serve me for the sake of the glory of my temple. You will surely see the day I am greatly glorified, see the day I destroy the temple and rebuild it, and see the day my tabernacle descends among men. As I will smash the temple, so will I make my tabernacle descend among men, just as they see me descend. After I crush all the nations, I will reorganize them, and then I will build up my temple and set up my altar, so that all people will offer sacrifices to me, serve me in my temple, and be faithful to my work among the Gentile nations. This is like the people of Israel of today who wear priestly robes and have crowns on their heads, having the glory of me Jehovah among them and having my majesty with them overhead. And my work in the Gentile nations will be the same. As is my work in Israel, so will be my work in the Gentile nations, because I will spread the work done in Israel and spread it to the Gentile nations.
Now is the time my Spirit is working greatly, the time I am working among the Gentile nations, and even more the time I am putting all created beings under their kinds. I will divide them into their kinds, so that my work can be carried out faster and can better produce results. So what I require of you is still that you should offer up your whole being for all my work, even more know and see clearly all my work on you, and spend all your energies for my work to achieve better results. This is what you should understand. Do not vie with one another anymore, do not seek a way out for yourselves anymore, and do not seek after ease for your flesh anymore, lest my work be delayed and your beautiful future be forfeited. Doing that will only ruin yourselves but cannot protect yourselves. Aren’t you foolish? What you crave today is exactly that which will ruin your future, and the sufferings you endure today are exactly that which will protect yourselves. You should be clear about these, lest you fall into temptations and be unable to free yourselves from them and you go astray into the dense fog and be unable to find the sun again. When the dense fog clears off, you will be in the judgment of the great day. At that time, my day will have approached mankind. How can you escape from my judgment? How can you withstand the scorching heat of the burning sun? When I bestow my riches to mankind, they do not cherish what I bestow to them in their bosom but leave it in somewhere unnoticeable. When my day comes upon them, they can no longer find my riches or find the words unpleasant to their ears that I spoke to them long ago. So they will wail bitterly, because they have lost the shining of the light and fallen into darkness. Today you have only seen the sharp sword of my mouth, and you have not seen the rod in my hand or the flaming fire I burn man with. So you still act insolently and unbridledly before me and still fight against me in my family and answer me back with your tongue. People have no dread of me, and they have been against me to this day, yet they are still not in the least afraid. You have the tongue and the teeth of the unrighteous in your mouth, and you speak and act like the serpent that beguiled Eve into sinning, returning a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye and scrambling for position and for fame and gain before me, without knowing that I am in secret observing your words and deeds. Before you come before my eyes, I have already penetrated your hearts. People always want to escape out of my hand and always want to shun the searching of my eyes. Yet I never turn away from their words and deeds but intentionally let them reach my eyes, so that I can chastise their unrighteousness and judge their disobedience. So, people’s words and deeds in private are always before my judgment seat and it has never left them, because they have too much disobedience. My work is to burn and purify all of people’s words and deeds that are before my Spirit, so that after I leave the earth, they will still be faithful to me and treat my work as my holy servants serve me, so that my work on earth can go on until the day my work ends.
