141 God’s Disposition Is Seen in Each Stage of His Work
Verse 1
During the Age of Law,
the work of guiding man
was done under Jehovah’s name;
here the first stage of work began.
The work at this stage was building
the temple and the altar,
with the law to guide Israel’s people
and in their midst to perform work.
His work extended from Israel,
so those who came later learned
that Jehovah was God Himself,
who made all creatures, heaven and earth.
Pre-chorus 1
He spread His work through Israel’s people,
then He extended it outward,
outward and further beyond them.
In the Age of Law this was God’s work.
Chorus
God’s true disposition is displayed
in the work He does in every age,
and both His name and the work He performs
change and are new when each new age is born.
Verse 2
During the Age of Grace,
the name of God was Jesus.
God was the God of salvation,
full of love and compassion.
For this stage God was with man,
His love and His compassion,
and His salvation accompanied
each and every person.
Only by accepting
Jesus’s presence and His name
could man gain peace, joy, His blessings,
His salvation and many graces.
Pre-chorus 2
Through Jesus’s crucifixion,
all of those who followed Him,
they received their salvation,
were forgiven all their sins.
Chorus
God’s true disposition is displayed
in the work He does in every age,
and both His name and the work He performs
change and are new when each new age is born.
Bridge
During the final days, His name is the Almighty—
Almighty God, who uses His power
to guide man, conquer, gain him.
And finally in the end, He brings the age to its close.
In every age at every stage, God’s disposition is shown.
Chorus
God’s true disposition is displayed
in the work He does in every age,
and both His name and the work He performs
change and are new when each new age is born.
