13 God’s Glory Shines From the East
Verse 1
Only when God entered the new heaven, earth,
did He reveal the other part of His glory.
He showed it first in the land of Canaan,
then a glimmer of light shone forth in the dark earth.
Let all come to the light, draw strength from its power,
so God’s glory grows, shows anew to all nations.
Let people know God came to earth long ago,
brought glory from Israel to the eastern nation.
Pre-chorus
For His glory shines bright out in the East,
it was brought to this day from the Age of Grace.
But Israel’s where He departed from,
and from there He arrived in the East and stayed.
Chorus
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
God came to the East, not to the West.
And He brought the land, the land of Canaan
to the people of the eastern nation.
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
Verse 2
When the light in the East slowly turns white,
then the darkness on earth will become light.
Man will learn God left Israel long ago,
and He’s rising anew in the East this time.
God had once descended into Israel,
He later departed from that land.
But because His work leads all the universe,
in Israel He can’t be born again.
Chorus
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
God came to the East, not to the West.
And He brought the land, the land of Canaan
to the people of the eastern nation.
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
Bridge
He wishes to take all people to Canaan,
so He speaks from Canaan to control the universe.
There’s no light on earth apart from Canaan.
Unless they get there, men face cold and hunger.
Chorus
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
God came to the East, not to the West.
And He brought the land, the land of Canaan
to the people of the eastern nation.
Lightning flashes straight from East to West.
