30. Several Practical Problems Relating to the Necessity of Escaping the Influence of Satan to Attain Salvation

Fellowship on Understanding the Section of God’s Word “Escape From the Influence of Darkness and You Will Be Gained by God

Any who truly understand the truth know clearly that believing in God only gains one salvation when one escapes from the influence of Satan. In one’s belief in God, escaping the influence of Satan for gaining salvation is the actual life experience of pursuing the truth and submitting to God’s work to achieve understanding of God, but it is also a necessary process in the pursuit of truth for attainment of salvation, which means that escaping the influence of Satan and attaining salvation share a direct relationship. Attaining salvation is a necessary result of its being built upon the foundation of escaping the influence of Satan. In fact, attaining salvation is what it means to escape the influence of Satan, because only those who have escaped the influence of Satan have truly attained salvation, and if someone hasn’t escaped the influence of Satan, he hasn’t attained salvation. Attaining salvation is the fruit of attaining the work of the Holy Spirit and the pursuit of truth. If someone doesn’t understand the truth, he can’t escape the deceit and bondage of Satan’s influence, and therefore cannot attain salvation. Only those who have the Holy Spirit’s work and possess a heart that fears God are those who have truly turned to God, because possessing a heart that can turn to God is the key to escaping the influence of Satan, as well as a good start to attaining salvation. Whether or not someone can escape the influence of Satan depends on whether that person’s heart is truly turned to God. When people’s hearts are truly turned to God, they can truly pray to God and truly communicate with God, and only then can they achieve understanding of the truth and entry into the reality, and only then does God have a place in their heart, do they gradually begin to achieve growth in their spiritual life, are they able to stand with God in all things, and can they practice truth and submit to God. If people believe in God but their hearts are not turned to God, they do not receive the work of the Holy Spirit, and therefore cannot achieve understanding of the truth or entry into the reality. No matter how many years they believe in God, they have no place for God in their hearts, and cannot develop a heart that fears God, because they cannot experience the work of the Holy Spirit, and are even less able to develop true belief. Such people will never escape the influence of Satan. Believers whose hearts cannot be turned to God will never be admitted by Him. Only those whose hearts are turned to God truly believe in God, and only they are predestined and selected by God to attain salvation, because only those whose hearts are turned to God truly possess true belief, only they can truly pray to God and exchange with God, only they can truly accept and pursue the truth, only they can practically submit to God’s work, understand and practice the truth, and become people obedient to God. These are the people who will truly attain salvation. Those who have attained salvation and become perfected are those who have truly turned to God and obey God, which means they are those gained by God, and only those gained by God are those who have truly escaped the influence of Satan. Those gained by God are those who have gained the truth and understanding of God, so they have entirely belonged to God and Satan has no power to deceive or corrupt them. If, in his pursuit of truth, a person’s attainment is such that Satan has no power to deceive or corrupt him, if in his belief in God he only follows God, obeys God, sincerely expends for God and loyally performs his duties, if he is not controlled at all by the influence of various people, events, and things, if he only worships God and worships no other person, then he is someone who has been truly gained by God. To be gained by God, a person must accept and pursue the truth. Those who do not pursue the truth will never attain the truth, and cannot be gained by God, and they are therefore unable to escape the influence of Satan. Escaping the influence of Satan is no easy thing.

What, precisely, is Satan’s influence of darkness? “What is referred to as the influence of darkness is the bondage of Satan, the influence of Satan, and it is an influence that has an aura of death.” From God’s word we can see that any under the bondage, restraint, or control of Satan are those living under the domain of Satan. What, precisely, restrains and controls those living under the influence of Satan? From our own experience we can tell it is the restraints and control of satanic natures, satanic dispositions, satanic philosophy, satanic principles and logic, satanic outlook on life and values, and fleshly interests and preferences. Without truth, people are unable to discern Satan’s reactionary essence of evil and ugliness, and they are never able to clearly see Satan’s evil face. How, then, can they be able to hate and forsake Satan, reject the darkness for the light, and turn to God? Therefore, if people do not understand and gain the truth, they are never able to escape the bondage and influence of Satan, which is why escaping the influence of Satan can only be accomplished through the pursuit of truth. Why can’t those who believe in God fear God and respect God above all? Why can’t they love and obey God? It is because man does not understand the truth, does not know God, has no discernment of Satan, and is therefore never able to gain penetration into Satan’s essence that he is in bondage to and control of his satanic nature and lives under the domain of Satan. This is a fact, make no mistake about it. So, if anyone who truly believes in God wishes to escape the influence of Satan and achieve salvation, he must pursue the truth, truly submit to God’s work, and gain the truth as life. Only this way will he be able to see clearly the fact of humanity’s corruption by Satan, to see clearly that Satan is the root cause of all humanity’s corruption and evil, to discern, hate, forsake, and cast aside Satan, and to entirely escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation. Now let’s look at all the antichrists and the various evil people who hate the truth. All they think, say, and do is rejection and hatred of the truth, resistance to God and opposition to God’s work, and they just cannot truly repent and submit to God’s work. They show us clearly how pitiable a state it is to live under the domain of Satan. They speak and argue only for themselves and do not accept the truth at all, even to the point of ridiculousness, not even submitting after being eliminated. Such people reject God’s salvation and adhere to the path of Satan. They are evil people who reject the truth, hate the truth, and hate the light, and they are sworn enemies of God. They will never attain salvation, because God does not save evil people.

If you wish to attain salvation through belief in God, your heart must turn to God, and this is critically important to escaping the influence of Satan. Let’s look at a passage from God’s word: “After you have sincerely prayed to God, you turn your heart to Him completely. At this point, your heart is moved by God’s Spirit, you are willing to give yourself completely, and in this moment, you have escaped from the influence of darkness. If all that man does is pleasing to God and fits with His requirements, then he is someone who lives inside God’s words, and he is someone who lives under the care and protection of God. If men are unable to practice God’s words, always fooling Him, acting in a perfunctory manner with Him, and not believing in His existence, such men are all living under the influence of darkness. Men who have not received the salvation of God are all living under the domain of Satan, that is, they all live under the influence of darkness. Those who do not believe in God are living under the domain of Satan. Even those who believe in the existence of God may not necessarily be living in the light of God, because those who believe in Him may not necessarily be living inside God’s words, and they may not necessarily be men who are able to obey God. Man only believes in God, and due to his failure to know God, he is still living within the old rules, living within dead words, living in a life that is dark and uncertain, not fully purified by God or completely gained by God. Therefore, while it goes without saying that those who do not believe in God are living under the influence of darkness, even those who believe in God may still be living under its influence, for the Holy Spirit has not performed work on them.” From God’s words we can clearly see that having one’s heart turned to God is a true state. Especially when praying sincerely to God, we feel our hearts filled with reliance, love, admiration, and worship for God, filled with passion, filled with gratitude and praise, as if we were actually seeing God—our hearts have already been turned to God and we are willing to give our heart over entirely to God. At this moment, we have truly escaped the influence of darkness and gained God’s care and protection. This is the true state of man’s heart when touched by the Holy Spirit and turned to God. The Holy Spirit touches people to grant them confidence, to make them see God’s ultimate goodness, that God is truly both respectable and lovable, that it is possible for people to love and obey God, and that these things are practical. But this is the work of the Holy Spirit, and by no means a measure of a person’s true spiritual stature. If a person is truly able to understand and practice the truth, strive to fulfill God’s requirements, give every care to God’s will, live in God’s word, and gain entry into the reality of truth, then this is someone who has completely attained salvation. If a person’s heart is not turned to God, he cannot receive the work of the Holy Spirit, and does not have God’s care and protection. God sees into people’s hearts and can observe whether someone truly believes in God or whether a person’s heart is truly turned to God, and God does not force people. All those who pursue the truth have had such experiences. When the Holy Spirit works, their hearts are turned to God, but without the work of the Holy Spirit, they often live in negative states and fleshly desires and return to the domain of Satan. So, God disciplines, prunes, and deals with them, He judges, chastises, tries, and refines them. This is the work of God that people must experience before they gain the truth. Those who turn their hearts to God in prayer but live under the domain of Satan when not praying have not completely escaped the influence of Satan, which means they have not truly attained salvation. When people’s hearts turn to God and they escape the influence of Satan because they are touched by the Holy Spirit, this is the result of the Holy Spirit’s work. One can only completely and utterly escape the influence of Satan by striving to pursue the truth, actually experiencing God’s work, and gaining the truth as life. Without the truth, people can be deceived and controlled by Satan at any moment. In that case, they cannot truly escape the influence of Satan. Without the truth, they have no new support for life, and they are left relying on their fleshly natures to support their lives. They can only live according to satanic philosophies, logic and principles, and live in their satanic dispositions where they are controlled by their satanic natures, which means such people have no way to escape the influence of Satan. In belief in God, one must turn one’s heart to God to receive the work of the Holy Spirit and gain God’s care and protection, and after one’s heart is turned to God, one must pursue the truth and cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit, and gain the truth to completely escape the influence of Satan. Turning your heart to God is a condition for receiving the work of the Holy Spirit, and without the work of the Holy Spirit, you are unable to understand and gain the truth, and therefore unable to escape the influence of Satan. So, turning your heart to God is absolutely critical to receiving the work of the Holy Spirit, entering into the reality of truth, and escaping the influence of Satan! Believers in God who can turn their hearts to God are those who love the truth and are oriented toward justice, and these are the people who can attain salvation and be perfected. That people live under the bondage and control of their satanic natures is an essential problem of corrupt mankind, and is also the main reason people live under the influence of Satan. If people are unable to turn their hearts to God, they are unable to receive the work of the Holy Spirit, without which they cannot escape the influence of Satan, and people can only solve it by pursuing truth. This is the key problem that must be resolved to escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation. The result that must be obtained in the pursuit of truth is to allow truth to rule in your heart and become your life, because only in this way can the problem of bondage and control by your satanic natures be thoroughly resolved. When a person is able to understand the whole truth in God’s word and have true knowledge of God, his heart will be one completely belonging to and gained by God, he will truly love and obey God, God will truly have a place in his heart, he will truly be able to respect God above all and worship God, and this is when he truly escapes the influence of Satan. All who understand the truth know clearly that when someone truly understands the truth and knows God, God naturally has a place in his heart, and this is when a person becomes able to respect God above all, can truly obey and worship God, and he thus forsakes Satan, escapes the influence of Satan, and belongs entirely to God. It is obvious, then, that if a person is not able to love the truth, he is unable to turn his heart to God, that if a person does not love God, he is unable to hate Satan, and that if a person cannot truly obey God, he cannot thoroughly forsake Satan. Without true understanding of God, he cannot escape the influence of Satan. These are absolute truths. So, to escape the influence of Satan requires the pursuit of truth and gaining the truth. Only this way can a person truly turn to God, obey God, and worship God, and those who accomplish this are those whose love and obedience for God is sincere. Without gaining the truth, none of this is true, which is why escaping the influence of darkness is no simple matter. Without 3-5 or 7-8 years of unrelenting pursuit of the truth, it’s nearly impossible.

Now, all those who understand truth can see clearly that escaping the influence of Satan requires resolving the problem of turning one’s heart to God, because only when the heart is turned to God can one receive the work of the Holy Spirit, understand the truth, and truly submit to God’s work. Those who can turn their hearts to God have hearts honest and upright in their belief in God, and are certainly people who love the truth and positive things. Whether or not people love the truth is very important! There are three primary reasons there exist so many who have believed in God for years, but cannot truly turn their hearts to God:

The first is a lack of true faith in God incarnate, and the determination that God only reveals Himself through miracles.

The second is a lack of interest in the truth, which means they have no place for God in their hearts, and feel cold and distant toward God.

The third is that they despise the truth, and therefore they always have notions, misunderstandings, and even enmity toward God and are unable to accept truth.

These three reasons represent three types of people, none of whom are able to turn their hearts to God, which makes it difficult for them to receive the work of the Holy Spirit, and therefore it is impossible for them to escape the influence of Satan. Now, let’s analyze the true state of these three types of people:

First, the true state of those without real faith in God. For these people, belief in God means a mere admission that God exists. They need to see a miracle to believe it’s really God, and they are always suspicious of the practical God who comes incarnate in the flesh to express the truth, just like Thomas doubted Jesus, as written in the Bible, so it is impossible for them to truly pray to God and exchange with God, impossible for them to achieve understanding of truth. Naturally, they also have no place for God in their hearts and do not possess hearts that fear God. Therefore, they do not seek or accept the truth in all things, and it becomes impossible for them to stand with God, give every care to God’s will, or obey and satisfy God. They exist entirely outside of God’s word. All such people live under the influence of Satan. In the church they are unbelievers, and they most certainly do not attempt to pursue the truth or desire to perform their duties. It is obvious that any who believe in God but have not turned their hearts to God cannot escape the bondage and control of Satan’s influence, and no matter how many years they believe in God, they cannot attain salvation.

Second, the true state of those uninterested in the truth and without a place for God in their hearts. This type of people has no interest in the truth and cannot accept or submit to the truth, and so has no place for God in their hearts. Even though they say in prayer that they wish to submit to God and respect God above all, they are still unable to accept and practice the truth and are never able to truly submit to God no matter how many sermons or how much fellowship they hear, because they have no love of the truth in their hearts and have not turned their hearts to God. They speak rote words and doctrines with their tongues to disguise themselves, deceive others, and cheat God, but they achieve no change. Such people believe in God, but their hearts have never truly turned to God, so they are unable to escape the bondage of Satan’s influence. We have all seen many believers in God be cold and distant to God, and this is because they are uninterested in truth or positive things. Such people have no humanity, and only believe in God to receive blessings, or more often to escape disaster. It is impossible for such people to attain salvation.

Third, the true state of those who always have notions, misunderstandings, and even enmity toward God. Most people of this type are preposterous and stubborn, refuse to change their minds, put faith in slander, and believe nonsense, but they refuse to believe or accept the truth. The better a person, the more a person understands the truth or the more positive the things, the more suspicious this type becomes. They always half-disbelieve positive words, and even though they may acknowledge it they refuse to accept it, meanwhile accepting every word of evil spirits and demons and those preposterous words of antichrists. They believe such things to the fullest extent, and immediately put such beliefs into practice. They are natural-born demons, which is why they form notions, misunderstandings, and even enmity toward God and the truth. Such preposterous people in the church are easily deceived by evil spirits and happily follow evildoers in causing trouble. Wherever they find evil spirits and antichrists active, this type of people stands out as Satan’s vanguard, waves its flag, and shouts its battle cry, as if they were born to be the tools of Satan the devil. No matter how many sermons or how much fellowship such people hear, it is difficult to change their preposterous and truth-loathing essence. The Holy Spirit never works in such people. Should they make their way into God’s house, they can at best be used as service-doers, and the final revelation shall be their doomsday.

For believers in God to escape Satan’s influence of darkness, the pursuit of truth is required. Any who believe in God for years without turning their hearts to God are people who do not pursue truth at all. Some even despise and hate the truth, among which most are cranks, evil spirits, antichrists, evildoers, and louts. It is impossible for these types of people to escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation. Satan has corrupted mankind deeply. Satanic poisons, satanic philosophy, satanic logic, and satanic principles have accumulated in their heart. These things that become man’s nature and take firm control of him comprise Satan’s influence, so if he does not pursue truth, he has no way to attack the fortress of his satanic nature, and no way to allow truth to occupy his heart and make a place in his heart for God. Truth is the only potent weapon against a satanic nature, and only God’s word can act as people’s life and allow them to escape the influence of Satan. We have all seen that any who pursue the truth, practice the truth, and attain obedience to God are able to do so because they are people whose understanding of truth gradually becomes deeper and who thereby achieve dispositional change. The more you grow in the truth, the less you suffer the bondage and control of Satan; the more you practice the truth, the less of your corruption is revealed; the more you accept the truth in your heart, the less of Satan’s poisons exist there; and in the end your obedience to God will be ever more and your resistance to Him will be ever less. In this manner, step by step, you escape the influence of Satan, and when your heart is completely turned to God, you attain salvation.

To live under the domain of Satan is primarily to be compelled against your will by the control of your satanic nature to do many evil deeds contrary to the truth, or even to become frenzied, wild, and inhuman, as if you were a satanic monster. This proves the depth of mankind’s corruption by Satan, that at root mankind doesn’t even possess the likeness of a man, and that without accepting the truth as life, man cannot attain salvation. Many believe in God for years without the slightest change, but in fact are nearly indistinguishable from the unbelievers. Because such people do not pursue truth, they still live under the domain of Satan. In God’s word we can find the many examples of how corrupt humanity behaves under the domain of Satan:

All those who cannot accept God’s work and therefore are unable to meet His demands are living under the influence of darkness; only those who seek the truth and are able to meet God’s demands will receive blessings from Him, and only they will escape from the influence of darkness.

Men who have not been released, who are always controlled by certain things and unable to give their hearts to God, are men who are under the bondage of Satan, and who are living under an aura of death.

Those unfaithful to their own duties, unfaithful to God’s commission, and those not performing their function at the church are living under the influence of darkness.

Those who deliberately disturb the church life, who deliberately destroy relationships between the brothers and sisters, or assemble their own gangs are living even deeper under the influence of darkness; they are living within the bondage of Satan.

Those who have an improper relationship with God, who always have extravagant desires, who always want to gain an advantage, and who never seek transformation in their disposition are men living under the influence of darkness.

Those who are always sloppy, are not serious in their practice of the truth, and who do not seek to meet the desires of God but only satisfy their own flesh are also men who are living under the influence of darkness and shrouded in death.

Those who engage in crookedness and deception when performing work for God, who deal with God in a perfunctory manner, cheat God, and who always think for themselves are men living under the influence of darkness.

All those who cannot sincerely love God, who do not seek the truth, and who do not focus on transforming their disposition are living under the influence of darkness.

…………

Those who do not live their life with honesty, who behave one way in front of others but another way behind their backs, who give an appearance of humility, patience, and love while in essence they are insidious, cunning, and have no loyalty to God—these people are the typical representatives of those living under the influence of darkness. They are the ilk of the serpent.

Those whose belief in God is always for their own gains, who are self-righteous and haughty, who show themselves off, and protect their own status are those who love Satan and oppose the truth. They resist God and belong completely to Satan.

Those who are not attentive to God’s burdens, who do not wholeheartedly serve God, who are always concerned with their own interests and the interests of their family, who are unable to abandon everything to expend themselves for God, and never live by His words are living outside of God’s words. Such men cannot receive God’s praise.

These expressions revealed in God’s word are the true conditions of those living under the domain of Satan. Those who don’t understand what it is to live under the domain of Satan can read God’s word, find their slot, reflect on their own behaviors, decide whether or not they have escaped the influence of Satan, and from there deduce whether or not they have attained salvation. Practically speaking, to live under the domain of Satan is to live in reliance on satanic philosophy and under the control of one’s satanic nature. Those controlled by their satanic nature naturally live out a satanic disposition, without any likeness of a man. We can see this in any person who believes in God for years without pursuing the truth: People who do not pursue or practice the truth are actually unbelievers. No matter how many years they believe in God, they are still unbelievers, which is definitive proof of what is stated in God’s word that all who live outside God’s word are unbelievers. God is entirely correct. Today, in God’s house, we have instituted the placement of those who have believed for years but do not pursue the truth in Group B for a final chance to reflect and repent, and this is absolutely necessary, because such individuals should never be allowed to disturb the church life of the real chosen people of God. In God’s word we see clearly the true state of every kind of person who lives under the domain of Satan, and even more clearly that the antichrists are the ilk of the snake, the classic examples of those living under the domain of Satan. Antichrists are those who love Satan and oppose truth, they resist God and belong entirely to Satan. The revelation in God’s word for the nature and essence of antichrists is absolutely accurate, and God’s word is very beneficial to our discernment of antichrists. If someone has believed in God for years but never pursues the truth, they will never escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation, but things are different for those who pursue truth. When someone actually understands the truth, a change is slowly produced in their perspective. When someone truly comes to know God, their outlook on life and values change, and they are willing to practice the truth, truly submit to God, and expend for God without asking recompense or attempting to bargain. They are happy and willing to offer up their lives and everything else that belongs to them to God. These are the people who have escaped the influence of Satan. Those who gain the truth as life are able to obey God and loyally perform their duties, which is the result of a change in life disposition. The influence of Satan’s poisons and philosophy completely disappears in such people, they reveal less and less satanic disposition and corruption, and you are able to see that only the truth and God rule such people. Their hearts are already turned to God, and belong to God, so they are not restrained by any person, matter, or thing as they expend for God, and Satan has no power to deceive or corrupt them. Such are people who have truly escaped the influence of Satan and attained salvation. Today, any engaged in spreading the kingdom gospel who can fully invest themselves in their work and labor in their duties without complaint, any who expend for God with their best efforts only to pursue and gain truth and do God’s will are those loyal and obedient to God and are those currently undergoing God’s salvation and perfection. This and none other is the group of people whose hearts and wills are in accord with God’s, and who will be gained by God in the last days.

Whether or not someone can escape the influence of Satan depends primarily on whether his heart is turned to God, whether he has gained the truth, and whether he has God’s word as the reality of life. These are the most crucial factors. If a person’s heart can turn to God, he can pursue, seek, and accept truth, and is willing to pray to God, practice obedience to God, and be loyal to God even though he has no truth. If someone’s heart is unable to turn to God, it becomes difficult for him to accept or practice the truth. So, the key to whether people can escape the influence is how their heart treats God and whether it is truly turned toward God, and the key to whether people share a normal relationship with God is whether their hearts are turned to God. When a person’s heart is turned to God, it produces the following effects:

One, the Holy Spirit often moves, enlightens, and illuminates him. It is easy for him to understand truth, and he often feels the presence of God.

Two, because he has the work of the Holy Spirit, he develops sincere faith in God, and can fulfill his duties and pay the price in following God.

Three, because he feels the presence of God and enjoys God’s protection and blessings, he feels true peace and joy, and feels no suffering even when he suffers.

Four, his beautiful aspirations are a consolation to him, so no matter what difficulties he encounters in life, he has the confidence to live on and stand testimony.

The preceding four effects are achieved when one’s heart is turned to God. Believers in God can only feel true peace and joy when their hearts are turned to God. Any believers in God who always feel miserable or that there is no point in living feel that way because they suffer the restraints and bondage under Satan’s domain. Those living under Satan’s domain do not have the work of the Holy Spirit and do not have sincere faith in God, so they have no beautiful aspirations, and because they lack the work of the Holy Spirit, they cannot enjoy true release and freedom or the joy and comfort brought by the work of the Holy Spirit. So, those believing in God without a heart turned to God essentially feel no joy and peace. We see some believers in God grimacing in misery, who never smile, who feel no peace and joy at all, which is the result of living under Satan’s domain and having a heart not turned to God. Such people’s belief in God is empty. If someone has a heart that loves and thirsts for the truth, he will receive the work of the Holy Spirit, and after experiencing God’s work for several years, he will be able to understand and gain the truth. The moment such people gain the truth and truly come to know God, they have already escaped the influence of Satan and attained salvation. If they can no longer be corrupted or deceived by Satan, are loyal and obedient to God without constraint by any person, matter, or thing, and are fit for God’s use todo God’s will, they have been perfected. God’s work in the last days is to perfect a group of people who are of the same mind as God. Can people not see this? If one does not love the truth in his heart, he has no hope of attaining salvation or being perfected, because those who do not love truth will never escape the influence of Satan. In the church there are many who do not pursue the truth and only speak rote words and doctrines to deceive others and cheat God, which in turns leads to them believing in God for years without any change in their life disposition. This exposes that such people still live under the domain of Satan. Living under the domain of Satan primarily expresses itself in six ways:

One, such people are unable to truly submit to the work of God, that is, they do not accept the judgment and chastisement of God’s word, much less accept all varieties of pruning and dealing. They have a constant focus on status and prestige and gain and a constant desire to succeed and outdo others, only allowing worship and flattery from others while never allowing exposure or blame. They always try to establish themselves and speak for themselves and are arrogant and self-righteous, not submitting to anyone, and not submitting to God’s work.

Two, such people never sincerely expend for God, and constantly attempt to fool others and be perfunctory when fulfilling their duties. They always make demands of God with the intent to barter, develop notions about, misunderstandings of, and blame toward God when God’s work is not in accord with their own will. They always take special care of the flesh and are unwilling to suffer, feeling that performing their duties means they have done a lot for God. They are unable to sincerely expend for God, and can never fulfill their duties as a creature of God in a satisfactory manner.

Three, such people do not safeguard God’s work in the fulfillment of their duties, and ignore problems when they discover disruptions and disturbances by evildoers or false leaders and antichrists deceiving people. They do not safeguard the interests of God’s house even when the great red dragon comes to oppress God’s chosen people, as though the church and God’s chosen people have no relation to themselves. They care only for their personal safety and have no place for God in their heart.

Four, after hearing years of sermons and fellowship, such people merely know doctrines but assume they are qualified to act as they please and have no regard for other people. They remain unable to seek and practice truth in all instances, and even loathe and resist the truth. They recklessly and carelessly criticize the work of God’s house and do not fear God at all.

Five, such people believe in God solely to gain blessings. They will not pay any price at all if blessings are not received, not to mention forsaking everything. They always attempt to bargain with God in their heart, earnestly hoping to sign a contract with God. If they are not certain to obtain blessings, they will betray the true way and leave God’s house. They are people who hate the truth and betray God, not sincere believers in God.

Six, such people are unable to pursue the truth despite believing in God, and do not yearn to be perfected by God. They focus solely on status and prestige and are willing to perform their duties and forsake everything only in exchange for fame and fortune. They do not want to expend for God without fame and fortune. They believe in God while continuing to walk the path of the antichrist. Even if they expend for God, it is to receive rewards, and they have no interest in God’s word or the truth.

Any who exhibit the manifestations listed above do so because they have not turned their hearts to God and live under the domain of Satan. If such people never pursue truth, they have no way to escape the bondage of Satan’s influence. If they believe in God yet never truly repent and walk the path of pursuing truth, they are destined to be eliminated. If they commit much evil and disturb and disrupt God’s work, they will end up rejected, eliminated, and punished. Those who believe in God but are unable to turn their hearts to God and live long-term under the domain of Satan are primarily of two types: One type is of good humanity and is capable of loving the truth, and if they often eat and drink God’s word and listen to sermons and fellowship, they become capable of understanding and accepting the truth, their hearts can turn to God, and there remains hope for such people to escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation; the other type is of bad humanity and does not love the truth, and because they do not love and reject the truth, no matter how many years they believe in God, they will never escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation. All those who believe in God for a few years without turning their hearts to God lack the work of the Holy Spirit, and therefore have great difficulty understanding truth and entering into its reality. So, those who believe in God for years yet lack the work of the Holy Spirit are people for whom attaining salvation is difficult. Among those whose hearts are not turned to God and who still live under the domain of Satan, only a minority have good humanity and have the hope of gaining salvation through often eating and drinking God’s word, listening to sermons and fellowship, and gaining a genuine supply of life. These people of good humanity should be treated with love, and one should practice patience and tolerance with them, because the moment they understand and accept the truth, their hearts will turn to God, and they will stand a chance of attaining salvation. Where those living under the domain of Satan are concerned, our first task is to discern which are of good humanity, which are not, and which are evildoers. Most of those of good humanity love the truth and are willing to pursue the truth, and can accept the truth as soon as they understand it, while those without good humanity or of evil humanity never love the truth and find it difficult to accept, which is why those who do not love or accept the truth are people without humanity, and are therefore evildoers. Good and bad people can be determined by whether or not they love the truth and can accept it, and this type of discernment is absolutely accurate. It is very difficult for those with bad or relatively evil humanity to attain salvation, because those who do not love the truth cannot turn their hearts to God, and they do not have the work of the Holy Spirit. This is an absolute certainty. So, the only course for those living under the domain of Satan without good humanity and who do not love the truth is to give up—providing watering and supply only to those of good humanity and who love the truth is in accordance with God’s will. We have all seen that most people expelled from the church are evildoers and antichrists. Because they do not love truth, and in fact reject it and hate it, because they lack even the slightest humanity, their hearts always rebel against and resist God and are full of evil. In the end, because they commit many wicked deeds, they are eliminated. Any who do not love the truth are destined to come to such an end.

All those who believe in God but are unable to turn their hearts to God live under the domain of Satan, and all those without the work of the Holy Spirit lack God’s care and protection. God only saves and blesses those who truly believe in Him and turn their hearts to Him. Only by turning his heart to God can a person have the work of the Holy Spirit, and only in this way can a person receive God’s discipline, pruning, dealing, judgment, chastisement, trial, and refinement. Therefore, those who truly turn their hearts to God are those God loves and blesses. No matter how many years one believes in God, or with how much passion, or how many good deeds one does, no matter if one is of good or bad humanity, any who do not pursue the truth live under the influence of Satan; any who do not sincerely expend for God or loyally fulfill their duties live under the influence of Satan; any with an abnormal relationship to God, or who pray only with fleshly appeals instead of genuinely exchanging with God, and who do not truly submit to God live under the influence of Satan; and any who are dishonest or who do not love the truth or love God in their hearts live under the influence of Satan. In sum, any who do not pursue the truth, any who cannot satisfactorily fulfill their duties, and any who do not truly submit to God live under the domain of Satan and have not attained salvation. Especially those who always have notions and suspicions about God, do not truly submit to but instead resist Him, and dare to judge and blaspheme Him—such demonic antichrists not only have not escaped Satan’s influence, they are accursed and execrable degenerates. They are Satan and evil spirits incarnated as devils, and they are not at all those God wants to save. These creatures serve so that God’s chosen people may learn discernment. God’s work of salvation is directed primarily at those who love and can pursue the truth, not at Satan, evil spirits, and all these wicked men. If someone desires to help grant salvation to Satan, evil spirits, and demons, and help these escape the influence of Satan, he is a blind fool, someone who is disrupting and disturbing God’s work and resisting God. God’s house deals with these degenerates who do not love but hate the truth by thoroughly cleaning them out. Such people should not be treated with love, because that is not in accord with God’s will.

To escape from the influence of darkness, one aspect is that it requires the work of the Holy Spirit, and another aspect is that it requires dedicated cooperation from man. Why do I say that man is not on the right track? In the first place, if a man is on the right track, he will be able to give his heart to God, which is a task that requires a long period of time to enter into because humankind has always been living under the influence of darkness and has been under Satan’s bondage for thousands of years. Therefore, this entry cannot be achieved in a day or two. I brought up this issue today so that men can have a grasp of their own state; regarding what is the influence of darkness and what it is to live within the light, entry becomes possible when man is able to discern these things. This is because you must know what Satan’s influence is before you can escape from it, and only then will you have the path for gradually ridding yourself of it. As to what to do thereafter, that is a matter for humans themselves. You must always enter in from a positive aspect and you must never wait passively. It is only this way that you can be gained by God.” Only those who have escaped Satan’s influence can attain salvation, which is something that all those who pursue truth must understand clearly. To attain salvation, we must resolve the problem of escaping Satan’s influence. Any who experiences God’s work can see clearly that escaping the influence of Satan is no simple issue. It must be resolved step by step through the pursuit of truth. To truly escape the influence of Satan requires solving five practical problems:

One, one must solve the problem of turning one’s heart to God.

Two, one must solve the problem of being an honest person who does not engage in schemes and plotting or act perfunctorily to deceive God.

Three, one must practice the truth, submit to God, and fulfill one’s duties in a satisfactory manner.

Four, one must have true discernment of the forces of Satan and that which is negative, and ensure that one can no longer be deceived or corrupted by Satan.

Five, one must have a heart that fears God, obey and worship only God, and not worship men or be constrained or controlled by any man or thing.

If a person possesses the reality of the preceding five aspects in his pursuit of truth, he has truly escaped the influence of Satan and achieved salvation, but if he does not, it proves that he has not truly escaped the influence of Satan. The reason people fail to practice the truth, at root, is because they are constrained by Satan’s influence. No matter if they are constrained by another person or thing, any sort of thought, viewpoint, or philosophy, or fleshly interests, at root these all fall under Satan’s bondage and constraints, and the existence of such constraints proves a person still lives under the domain of Satan. No matter at what time or in what circumstances, if a person rebels against or resists God, and cannot practice truth or obey God, it is enough to show that person has not truly turned to God and still lives under the domain of Satan. No matter how many years a person believes in God, if they are unable to escape the influence of Satan, they cannot attain salvation, and their belief will come to nothing. Escaping Satan’s influence requires pursuing and gaining the truth to alter the state of living under Satan’s influence. In fact, any who do not understand the truth and enter into the reality of truth have not truly escaped Satan’s influence, especially those who are often weak, negative, and even blame God for their missteps and failures. Satan has such people securely in its bondage, and they can find no release, which is why they fail to practice truth in the slightest. Do they not live out the pathetic image of Satan’s slaves? If people living under the bondage of Satan do not actively seek to make progress, if they have no determination to turn toward justice, they will never truly escape Satan’s influence. When others see what is expressed in them, the only reaction is pity, but people who never pursue the truth are unworthy of pity, because such people can only be eliminated. Negativity, weakness, revealing corruption, and missteps and failures are all too common among those who genuinely pursue truth, and such people should be treated with love. But if evildoers who despise, hate, reject, and resist the truth disrupt or disturb God’s work, or even worse, do plenty of evil, they are accursed and execrable degenerates. Do not pity them or sympathize, because these are your enemies, and they should be spurned and expelled. God saves those who love and pursue truth, so any who can love and accept truth and truly turn their hearts to God are the real chosen people of God. We should practice loving what God loves and loathing what God loathes, so leaders and workers should focus on watering all those who love the truth and can pursue it, because watering, providing for, and shepherding these people properly is in accord with God’s will.

Now, let’s fellowship on the specifics of the five practical problems that must be solved before one can escape the influence of Satan:

First, one must solve the problem of turning one’s heart to God. To solve the problem of turning one’s heart to God, one must focus on eating and drinking God’s word, seeking truth in God’s word, praying sincerely to God, and yearning for the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment and illumination. When people understand the truth, their hearts naturally turn to God. Some who believe in God naturally love the truth and have hearts willing to pray to God and be near God, so they believe in God passionately. They pray to God from the moment they start believing, and their pure hearts burn with passion, which means they are moved by the Holy Spirit. At that time, their hearts are already turned to God, so they receive the work of the Holy Spirit and forsake everything to expend for God without complaint. Such people seem to be natural-born believers in God, so from the moment they start believing, they are willing to pray and call out to God, and they are moved, enlightened, and illuminated by the Holy Spirit. Very few people possess this state. Most believers only turn their hearts to God after they understand some of the truth, which is a normal state. At any rate, no matter how passionately a person believes or how strong their faith, what matters most is relying on the pursuit of truth to reach an understanding of truth, which is the sincerest turning of the heart to God. When a person’s heart is truly turned to God, he can live in the presence of God and pray and be close to God more often, giving him more chances to receive the work of the Holy Spirit, thereby making it easier to understand the truth and enter into the reality. When people enter onto the right track of belief in God, they can gradually escape the influence of Satan and be gained by God. So, solving the problem of turning one’s heart to God is critical to escaping the influence of Satan and attaining salvation. Turning one’s heart to God is the starting point for escaping the influence of Satan, the beginning of one’s understanding the truth and entering into the reality. A person’s life experience begins with turning his heart to God and receiving the work of the Holy Spirit, and one only has a hope of escaping the influence of Satan and attaining salvation if one can truly turn one’s heart to God. God’s chosen people must understand that only those whose hearts are turned to God sincerely believe in God, possess true faith in God, and are the people predestined and chosen by God to receive salvation.

Second, one must solve the problem of being an honest person who does not engage in schemes and plotting or act perfunctorily to deceive God. Becoming an honest person refers to making oneself anew, and involves what path one walks. Only by being an honest person can a believer be loyal to God and submit to God; only this way can one have a normal relationship with God, practice the truth, obey God, and satisfactorily fulfill one’s duty. If one succeeds at becoming an honest person, he can practice and enter into all the truth God requires of man, but if one does not, he fails at being a man, and will never walk the path of pursuing truth and being perfected, nor will he submit to God or be loyal to God in his belief, and therefore will never enter into the reality of truth. So, becoming an honest person is critical to escaping the influence of Satan. Those who do not love the truth are walking the incorrect path, and those without normal humanity cannot pursue the truth, and their belief in God is pretended, false, and deceitful, so whether or not one can become an honest person is critical to escaping the influence of Satan and attaining salvation. Why does corrupt mankind, in their belief, act perfunctorily to deceive God and rebel against and resist God? Because they are not honest people and have no normal humanity. They know only how to be crafty, crooked, perfunctory, and deceptive. Even if they wish to, they are unable to practice truth, which proves the depth of Satan’s corruption of mankind. Therefore, God requires that one become an honest person for one to be after God’s heart.

Being an honest person first requires turning one’s heart to God. Only those with hearts turned to God can sincerely pray to and commune with God, receive the work of the Holy Spirit, and accept God’s judgment, chastisement, pruning, and dealing. Only this way can one truly practice and enter into being an honest person. It is impossible to be an honest person without accepting God’s judgment, chastisement, pruning, and dealing. If one can become an honest person, he can resolve the problem of turning his heart to God, and by continuing to pursue the truth and enter into its reality, he can completely escape Satan’s influence and attain salvation.

Third, one must practice the truth, submit to God, and fulfill one’s duties in a satisfactory manner. We believe in God and pursue truth to achieve knowledge of God, and with knowledge of God, we can obey and worship God. The practice of truth and obedience to God is a reality of truth required to escape the influence of Satan, because only through the practice of truth and obedience to God can we fulfill our duties in a satisfactory manner. The most important requirement for attaining salvation is being able to practice the truth, obey God, and perform one’s duties satisfactorily. Only being able to do those things proves that one has truly escaped the influence of Satan. When a person can practice the truth and obey God, he can perform his duties to a satisfactory level, and he has completely escaped the influence of Satan. Anyone constrained or controlled by Satan’s influence cannot practice the truth, obey God, or fulfill his duties in a satisfactory manner, while someone who can practice the truth, obey God, and perform his duties satisfactorily is someone who has completely escaped the influence of Satan. This is unquestionably true, because those who perform their duties satisfactorily are all surely honest people. We can see that those who do not practice truth or obey God in the slightest are not honest people, they are crafty and crooked, and even if they are performing their duties they are full of perfunctoriness and deception, and they are not loyal at all, which proves that they still live under the domain of Satan. So, to escape the influence of Satan, one should make efforts to practice the truth and obey God to achieve entry into the reality of truth. This way, one is able to fulfill one’s duties in a satisfactory manner. Once someone can perform his duties in a satisfactory manner, it proves he has escaped the influence of Satan, which means he has attained salvation, and also that he has succeeded at being a man.

Fourth, one must have true discernment of the forces of Satan and that which is negative, and ensure that one can no longer be deceived or corrupted by Satan. To escape the influence of Satan requires true discernment of Satan’s essence. One must possess true discernment of antichrists, evil spirits, and all negative things. One must be able to see through to their essence to ensure one can no longer be deceived or corrupted by Satan, because only by understanding truth are people able to hate Satan and one must hate Satan to rebel against it and truly turn one’s heart to God. This is absolute. So, to escape the constraints and bondage of the influence of Satan, one must pursue, understand, and gain the truth. Only in this way can one no longer be deceived or corrupted by Satan, and only in this way can one ensure his escape from the constraints and bondage of Satan. If someone can be deceived or corrupted by Satan, it is impossible for him to escape Satan’s constraints and bondage, which is a practical problem. We must be clear in our belief that attaining salvation requires pursuing and gaining the truth, because only through such practice can we escape the influence of Satan. Without the truth, we cannot battle with Satan or be victorious over Satan, so those who never pursue truth can never escape Satan’s influence. Many people have no discernment of false leaders or antichrists in their belief in God, and the result is that they can be deceived and controlled by false leaders and antichrists, that they protect false leaders and antichrists in all aspects, and that they are proud even as they become Satan’s accomplices. These are people living under the influence of Satan. It is obvious that people are easily deceived and controlled by Satan without understanding of the truth, and that they easily follow and worship men, thereby becoming Satan’s tools, accomplices, and puppets, and enemies of God who will be cursed and eliminated.

Fifth, one must have a heart that fears God, obey and worship only God, and not worship men or be constrained or controlled by any man or thing. Believers in God must come to know God before they can be gained by God, because those who do not know God cannot completely give their hearts to God, and even less are they capable of submitting to God’s orchestrations and arrangements. If corrupt humanity does not believe in God, they only trust themselves and believe that their fate is in their own hands and can be controlled by them, and the result will be failure and humiliation. Those who understand the truth see clearly that giving one’s heart over to God and letting God manage and rule over him is never wrong, because God is truth and righteousness, a good and beautiful God, a God worthy of man’s love and worship. God decides people’s end based on whether they have the truth, and He treats people entirely according to their essence, so God is a righteous God and treats everyone fairly. The more someone understands the truth, the more he can give himself completely to God and the more he can obey God’s orchestrations and arrangements, which shows that those who truly obey God by necessity truly know God. Man must know God before he can have a heart that fears God and respect God above all. If someone can obey God and worship God without constraint by any person, matter or thing, this proves he has been gained by God, that he is someone who belongs completely to God. Such people can never be deceived or corrupted by Satan, and such people have completely escaped Satan’s influence. If someone attains salvation to this degree in his belief in God, he has been perfected by God. We can see that if someone has a heart that fears God, respects God above all and obeys and worships only God without the constraint of any man, matter or thing, he is someone who has truly gained the truth and life. When people gain the truth, have God’s word as the reality of life, and can live by God’s word, it is truly a meaningful thing!

The five practical problems above are those God’s chosen people must solve to escape the influence of Satan, but they are also the five aspects of reality of the truth God’s chosen people must achieve entry into in their belief in God. This is critical, absolutely crucial to escaping the influence of Satan! If you are truly someone who pursues truth, you should focus your efforts on resolving these five problems and achieving entry into these five aspects of reality of the truth. Doing so means you are wise, because if you can achieve entry into these five aspects of reality of the truth, you are someone who will surely escape the influence of Satan and attain salvation. This is unquestionable. There are some who do not pursue truth, but instead spend their days peddling gossip and tying themselves in knots over right and wrong. There are leaders and workers who were once dismissed and yet are never able to obey God’s chastisement, judgment, pruning, and dealing. There are those in the church constrained administratively, segregated for reflection, or expelled who are never able to seriously reflect on themselves, who never admit their wrongdoings but hate the leaders and workers and hate arrangements of God’s house. Such people believe in God, yet do not obey God’s judgment and chastisement in the slightest, and do not accept pruning and dealing, they commit much evil and do not allow God’s chosen people to reveal it, and it is they who are exposed as Satan. Any who do not accept the truth and are never able to sincerely repent are unreasonable people who hate the truth. Such people do not know God’s work, and do not understand that God decides a person’s end based on whether he has the truth. They cause endless disturbances and trouble, and are beyond salvation. Those who cannot submit to God’s judgment and chastisement are exposed when they are dismissed or eliminated. Such people have no reality of truth at all. They are all resisting God, making an enemy of God, and opposing God’s judgment and chastisement, so in the end, no matter how they struggle and refuse, there is no result for them but punishment. If someone has a conscience and sense, he should give up his stubbornness and insistence and stop making arguments, because time is of the essence. Submit to God’s judgment and chastisement now, because what God requires of man is obedience to His work and entry into the reality of truth. None of your arguments represent that you have the reality of truth, none of your arguments represent that you submit to God, instead they simply prove you are a corrupted man full of satanic disposition. Only if people can learn to be rational in their belief, learn to submit to God’s judgment, chastisement, pruning, and dealing, and to obey God’s arrangements can they gain God’s approval. Those who make arguments before God are the most foolish and most ridiculous of men. God never judges who is right or wrong during His work; He simply does the work of saving mankind. If people can sincerely pursue truth, they should learn to submit to God’s judgment and chastisement and focus on gaining entry into the reality of truth, because only then can they act in accordance with the will of God and be those most favored by God. Those exposed after only a little insult and suffering are pitiable indeed! Any who argue with God do not obey God and possess no reality of truth. Is a little insult and suffering too much to ask? That you suffer insult does not mean you have the reality of truth. Only those who submit to God’s work have the reality of truth. Those who possess the reality of truth live it out, they do not argue for it. No matter what arguments you have or how many insults you suffer, such do not mean that you have the reality of truth, nor do they mean you have attained salvation. Pursuing the truth is more important, and arguing over right and wrong is not pursuing the truth, nor is it significant in any way. Solving these five practical problems should be your priority, because God’s work requires entry into these realities.

Believers in God must turn their hearts to God to escape the influence of Satan, and this is the beginning of entry into life. When people turn their hearts to God and receive the work of the Holy Spirit, they set out down the path of pursuing the truth and being perfected. In the work to spread the kingdom gospel, any who sincerely expend for God should not only loyally fulfill their duty, but more importantly pursue truth, learn to practice and obey truth in their duties, which is critically important for gaining entry into life. Also, one must be able to suffer and learn to obey as they accept pruning, dealing, judgment, and chastisement, and he must practice love of God, learn to endure pain and forsake that which they love, and take joy in obeying and satisfying God. In this way, he is certain to be perfected by God. Suffering to spread the kingdom gospel, suffering to do God’s will—this is glory! It’s worth it! You’ll never regret it. Suffering to gain the truth and to glorify God is a blessing. No matter how much corruption was exposed in you or how many transgressions you committed in the past, if you are able to exert all your efforts to perform your duties for satisfying God when spreading the kingdom gospel, you can atone for all of it, and you can also comfort God. Even those who have never pursued the truth, if they remain loyal to God and give their all to spread the kingdom gospel, submit to God’s arrangements, and prepare a sufficiency of good deeds, they will gain God’s approval. Any unwilling to suffer or only willing to suffer slightly to spread the kingdom gospel should repent, weep, and gnash their teeth, because there will never be another chance to suffer like this again. Any who truly love God will pay the price and take up their burden; to spread the kingdom gospel and carry out God’s will they will forsake everything and expend everything, which is the most perfect and most resonant testimony. Whether or not people have the reality of truth or can bear true testimony as they experience the final phase of God’s work depends on whether they have a conscience and reason, and whether they can repay God’s love. It depends on whether they truly love God, and whether they are willing to live for God. All will be revealed in this final phase of spreading the kingdom gospel. People must experience much of God’s judgment, chastisement, trials, and refinement as they advance in their belief from turning their hearts to God to sincerely loving God. To gain the truth as life they must undergo much suffering and make many sacrifices. When they can truly know and love God, their life disposition is changed entirely, and this means they are perfected and gained by God. Those who pursue the truth should be able to see that this, starting from turning one’s heart to God and moving to being perfected into God’s intimate and witness, is the path Peter walked to being perfected. Believers in God who become perfected are those that live in God’s word to experience God’s work. They practice God’s word according to God’s word, and finally from God’s word understand the entirety of truth and enter into the reality of God’s word. This means what it is to be completely perfected by God. All true believers in God should recognize this path, should know how to believe to attain salvation, and should recognize that the only path to salvation is pursuit of the truth, and thus, will also naturally know how to solve the several practical problems of escaping the influence of Satan. Just as God says: “To escape from the influence of darkness, you must first be loyal to God and have the eagerness to seek the truth—only then will you have a correct state. Living in the correct state is the precondition for escaping from the influence of darkness. Not having the correct state means that you are not loyal to God and that you do not have the eagerness to seek the truth. Then, escaping from the influence of darkness is out of the question. Man’s escape from the influence of darkness is based on My words, and if man cannot practice in accordance with My words, they will not escape from the bondage of the influence of darkness. To live in the correct state is to live under the guidance of God’s words, to live in the state of being loyal to God, to live in the state of seeking the truth, to live in the reality of sincerely expending for God, to live in the state of genuinely loving God. Those who live in these states and within this reality will gradually transform as they enter more deeply into the truth, and they will transform with the deepening of the work, until eventually they will certainly be gained by God, and they will come to genuinely love God. Those who have escaped from the influence of darkness will be able to gradually grasp God’s will, gradually understand the heart of God, and eventually become intimate with God. Not only will they have no notions of God and no rebellion against Him, but they will come to detest even more the notions and rebellion that they had before, engendering genuine love for God in their hearts. Those who are unable to escape from the influence of darkness are occupied with their flesh, and they are full of rebellion; their hearts are filled with human notions and philosophies of life as well as their own intentions and deliberations. God requires the singular love of man, and He requires man to be occupied by His words and man’s love for Him. To live within God’s words, to discover that which man should seek from within His words, to love God as a result of His words, to run around for the sake of God’s words, to live for God’s words—these are all things that man should achieve. Everything must be built on God’s words, and only then will man be able to meet God’s requirements. If man is not equipped with God’s words, he is nothing but a maggot who is possessed by Satan. Weigh it in your own heart—how many words of God have taken root inside of you? In which things are you living in accordance with God’s words? In which things have you not been living in accordance with God’s words? If they have not fully taken hold of you, then to what extent have they taken hold of you? In your everyday life, are you being controlled by Satan, or are you being guided by God’s words? Are your prayers initiated from His words? Have you come out of your negative state through the enlightenment of God’s words? To take God’s words as the foundation of your existence, this is what everyone should enter into. If God’s words are not present in your life, then you are living under the influence of darkness, you are rebellious against God, you are resisting God, and you are dishonoring His name—such men’s belief in God is purely mischief and disturbance.
