355 The Authority of God’s Incarnation

Intro

When God is realized in flesh,

He seems to be an ordinary, normal man,

but the fruit borne by His words will show to man

that He is God Himself, He’s full of authority,

His words are the expression of God Himself.

Verse 1

God became flesh, and no one may offend Him,

or surpass God’s own judgment by the word,

no dark force can beat His power.

Man submits to Him because He’s the Word become flesh,

because of His sublime authority

and His judgment by the word.

Chorus

The work brought by God’s incarnate flesh

is His supreme authority.

The flesh can also possess authority.

And He is able to do real work among man,

the work that’s visible and tangible.

And this is why God incarnates.

Verse 2

God’s work in flesh is much more realistic

than the work done directly by His Spirit

who possesses all authority.

And its results are much more apparent because

God incarnate speaks and works

in ways so practical, so real.

Bridge

The outward form of God’s incarnate flesh

holds no authority, He’s so approachable,

while His essence carries authority

that’s visible to no one.

When God incarnate speaks and does His work,

nobody can detect His own authority.

This makes it possible for Him to do His work

that’s practical and tangible.

Verse 3

God became flesh, and all of His real work

achieves in practice all that God intends.

Though none knows His authority,

though man can’t see His wrath and He’s not to be offended,

His words accomplish all through

His veiled wrath and authority.

Chorus

The work brought by God’s incarnate flesh

is His supreme authority.

The flesh can also possess authority.

And He is able to do real work among man,

the work that’s visible and tangible.

And this is why God incarnates.

Verse 4

God became flesh, and through His tone of voice,

the sternness and the wisdom of His words,

man is completely convinced.

And in this way, man submits to God incarnate

who doesn’t seem to have authority.

This fulfills God’s aim of saving man.

Chorus

The work brought by God’s incarnate flesh

is His supreme authority.

The flesh can also possess authority.

And He is able to do real work among man,

the work that’s visible and tangible.

And this is why God incarnates.

Outro

One aim of God’s incarnation is

to speak in a more realistic way

and allow His words to bear fruits in man,

so that man may be able to

see the power of God’s word.
