959 The Consequences of Offending God’s Disposition

Verse 1

God doesn’t turn a blind eye or deaf ear

to people who blaspheme or resist Him,

who purposely attack, curse or malign Him.

No, He has a clear attitude toward them.

Chorus 1

He despises them, condemns them in His heart.

He even openly declares their outcome,

so that all may understand His attitude,

how blasphemers’ outcome will be determined.

Verse 2

God uses facts to deal with some evil acts:

punishments of the flesh that can be clearly seen.

Other evil acts anger God and are cursed,

but their punishment may remain unseen.

Chorus 2

But that does not make it any lesser

because this sort of unseen punishment

can be more serious than that which is seen,

such as being punished or even killed.

Verse 3

So when people resist, malign and blaspheme,

if they truly offend God’s disposition,

pushing past the limit of His tolerance,

the consequences don’t bear thinking of.

Chorus 3

The worst is God hands them over to Satan

for once and for all of eternity.

They’ll become food in its mouth, toys in its hand,

and God will have no more to do with them.
