705 Only Dispositional Changes Are True Changes
Verse 1
Satan poisoned man and trampled on him.
That’s where man’s corrupt disposition stems from.
His fundamental things have been corrupted:
his thinking, morality, insight, and sense.
All are vastly changed from how God made them:
he can’t understand the truth and opposes God.
Pre-chorus 1
And so changes in man’s disposition
should begin with changes in his thinking,
in his sense, and in his insight,
to change his knowledge of God and of truth.
Chorus
Achieving true changes in man’s disposition
begins with thorough knowledge of his essence,
and through changes in his thinking, nature, outlook.
Then can fundamental changes be achieved.
Verse 2
Before he was corrupted by Satan,
man followed God, obeyed His words on hearing;
he had sound sense, conscience, and humanity.
But that humanity, sense and conscience,
all grew dull after Satan corrupted him.
He’s lost obedience and love toward God.
Pre-chorus 2
Man’s sense has gone astray, his disposition
alike to animal’s, his rebellions more grievous;
yet he remains ignorant of all of this,
and blindly rebels against and opposes God.
Chorus
Achieving true changes in man’s disposition
begins with thorough knowledge of his essence,
and through changes in his thinking, nature, outlook.
Then can fundamental changes be achieved.
Bridge
Man’s disposition is revealed
through his sense, insight and conscience
that dull and unsound have become.
And thus his disposition has
grown rebellious against God.
If his sense and insight cannot change,
then neither shall his disposition,
and never shall he conform to God’s will.
Chorus
Achieving true changes in man’s disposition
begins with thorough knowledge of his essence,
and through changes in his thinking, nature, outlook.
Then can fundamental changes be achieved.
