God’s Words Made Me Drop My Notion About the Man Used by the Holy Spirit
When I read Christ’s Talks with Some Church Workers at ordinary times, I always paid attention to reading God’s fellowship and did not pay attention to reading the man’s fellowship attached to it, for I thought that as God is the Creator while the man is a created being, God’s fellowship is better than the man’s fellowship.
One day, in the man’s fellowship I came across these words: “Those who can never know themselves are the most muddle-headed, foolish, and spirit-blocked people in the church. Such people, like spiritless animals, are of no value and are sheer worthless wretches.” I had an aversion to them within: As God is the Creator, only God has the right to say so. The man used by the Holy Spirit is a man, and is a created being like any one of us; how could he have the right to say so? Since then, whenever I read words like this in the man’s fellowship, I felt uncomfortable.
Once, when I ate and drank Three Hundred Questions & Answers on the Truth in Christ’s Word, my heart was captured by question 94 on the truth of the vision: “What is God’s purpose in raising up a man used by God?” The answer of God’s word says: “The work done by the man used by God is to cooperate with the work of Christ or the work of the Holy Spirit. He is a man raised up by God among people to lead all God’s chosen people and a man raised up by God to do the work of cooperation in humanity. … It can be said that God’s purpose in using this man is that all those who follow God can better understand God’s will and meet more of God’s requirements. Because all people cannot directly understand God’s word or God’s will, God raises up a man used by him to do such work. The man used by God can be said to be a go-between through whom God leads people and an ‘interpreter’ through whom God communicates with people. … His work cannot be done by any other man in his stead and is an indispensable work of cooperation in humanity when God is working in divinity. … However, the man used by God is a man who has been prepared by God and who has very good qualities and has humanity. He has been prepared and perfected by the Holy Spirit ahead of time. He is led completely by the Holy Spirit, and he is directed and governed by the Holy Spirit especially in working. …”
God’s words undid the knot in my heart. Although the man used by the Holy Spirit is a created being like any one of us, he is one who has been preordained and perfected by God ahead of time, is one who has been prepared by God to lead all of God’s chosen people, and is an “interpreter” who helps us to understand God’s word. The work he does is completely directed and governed by the Holy Spirit. His fellowship about the truth is completely after God’s heart. It paves the way for us to understand God’s word; far from having errors, it edifies us very much. However, I always held a scornful attitude toward the man’s fellowship. And when I read some piercing and hard words in his fellowship, I thought that he had no right to speak in that way. I was really arrogant to the extreme that I dared to criticize the man used by the Holy Spirit. No wonder the 7th administrative decree stipulates: “Concerning the work or the church affairs, apart from obeying God, you should obey the man used by the Holy Spirit in every aspect and should not disobey him in any way but should obey him absolutely. Do not judge whether he is right or wrong. Whether he is right or wrong has nothing to do with you. You should just obey him absolutely.”
Inspired and enlightened by God’s words, I saw that I was erroneous, absurd, arrogant, and devoid of sense. I also realized that because I did not love the truth and did not pay attention to reading the man’s fellowship, I had lost many opportunities to gain and understand the truth. From now on, I’ll correct my erroneous viewpoint, and truly obey God and obey the man used by the Holy Spirit. However piercing the man’s fellowship is and however contrary his arrangements for the work are to my notions, I will be willing to accept and obey them, for I have understood that everything he does is completely directed and governed by the Holy Spirit.
