328 People Simply Haven’t Given Their Hearts to God

Verse 1

Though man allows God to look within their heart,

this doesn’t mean they can obey God’s arrangement,

or that they have left their fate and their all

under the control of God.

Regardless of the oaths you make to God

or what you declare to Him,

in God’s eyes your heart is still closed to Him,

for you don’t permit Him to control it.

Chorus

Though man believes in God,

man’s heart is without Him.

They don’t know how to love God,

nor do they want to love Him,

for their heart never draws near God;

they always try to avoid Him.

So man’s heart is far from God.

Verse 2

You have not given your heart to God,

and only speak nice-sounding words for God to hear.

Your various deceitful intentions you hide from God,

together with your intrigues and plans,

you clutch your prospects in your own hands,

afraid that they will be taken away by God.

Thus, God never beholds man’s

sincerity toward Him.

Chorus

Though man believes in God,

man’s heart is without Him.

They don’t know how to love God,

nor do they want to love Him,

for their heart never draws near God;

they always try to avoid Him.

So man’s heart is far from God.

Verse 3

Though God does observe the depths of man’s heart,

and can see what man is thinking and wishing,

and see what things are kept within their heart,

man’s heart doesn’t belong to God.

God has the right to observe,

but He does not have the right to control.

In the subjective consciousness of man,

man doesn’t want to give themselves to God’s mercy.

Bridge

Not only has man closed themselves off to God,

there are even people who think of ways

to wrap up their hearts, using smooth talk and flattery

to create false impressions to gain God’s trust,

concealing their true face out of sight from God,

concealing their true face.

Chorus

Though man believes in God,

man’s heart is without Him.

They don’t know how to love God,

nor do they want to love Him,

for their heart never draws near God;

they always try to avoid Him.

So man’s heart is far from God.
