God’s work has been progressing forward all the time. Although the purpose of his work does not change, the way of his working has been changing continuously. Thus, those who follow God have also been changing continuously. The more works God does, the more fully people will know God, and their disposition will also change accordingly with God’s work. However, because God’s work is always changing, those who do not know the work of the Holy Spirit and those who are absurd and do not know the truth all become ones who resist God. God’s work is always discordant with people’s notions, because his work is ever new and never old and he does not repeat his old work but does works he has never done before. Because God does not repeat his work and because people always measure God’s work today by his past work, God’s work in every new age is very difficult to carry out. People have too many difficulties! People are too conservative in thought! They do not know God’s work, but they all circumscribe God’s work. Apart from God, people will lose the life, lose the truth, and lose the blessings of God, but they all refuse to receive the life, refuse to receive the truth, and even more refuse to receive God’s greater blessings to mankind. People all want to gain God, but they do not allow God’s work to change. Those who do not accept God’s new work all believe that God’s work is unchanging and that God’s work always remains at a standstill. They believe that as long as they keep the law, they will receive God’s eternal salvation. They believe that as long as they repent and confess their sins, they can satisfy God’s heart’s desire forever. They believe that God can only be the God under the law and God can only be the God crucified for man, and believe that God should not and cannot go beyond the Bible. Their “believes” have tightly nailed them to the old law and to the dead regulations. Still more people believe that no matter which stage of new work God does, he must do it on the basis of some prophecies, and when he does each stage of new work, he must give a revelation to all “those who genuinely follow him,” otherwise, it is not God’s work. It is already difficult for people to know God, and in addition, they have an absurd heart and a self-important, self-conceited, and disobedient nature, so it is more difficult for them to accept God’s new work. People do not investigate God’s new work carefully nor receive it with a humble heart, but take a despising attitude toward it and wait for God’s revelation and God’s guidance. Aren’t these all manifestations of their disobeying and resisting God? How could such people receive God’s approval?
At that time Jesus said that Jehovah’s work was outdated in the Age of the Grace, just as today I say that Jesus’ work is outdated. If there had not been the Age of the Grace but only the Age of the Law, Jesus could not have been crucified and could not have redeemed the whole mankind. If there had only been the Age of the Law, could mankind develop to this day? History moves forward. Isn’t history the natural course of God’s working? Isn’t it a portrayal of God’s managing man in the entire universe? History progresses forward, so does God’s work. And God’s will is changing continuously. He cannot continue one stage of work for six thousand years, for God is ever new and never old, as everyone knows. He cannot possibly keep doing a work like the crucifixion all the time, being crucified once, twice, three times…. This is the knowledge of absurd people. God does not continue the same work. His work changes continuously, and he always does new works. For example, every day I speak new words to you and do new works on you. This is the work I do, which is mainly characterized by being “new” and “amazing.” The word, “God is unchanging, and God is God after all,” is absolutely true. God’s essence does not change, God is God after all, and he cannot become satan. But these do not prove that his work is unchanging as his essence is. If you say that God is unchanging, then how do you explain God’s being ever new and never old? God’s work spreads continuously and changes continuously, and God’s will is revealed and made known to people continuously. When people experience God’s work, their disposition changes continuously, and their knowledge also changes continuously. Where do they gain these changes? Don’t they gain them from God’s work changing continuously? Since people’s disposition can change, do you not allow my work and word to change continuously? Must they be restricted by man? Aren’t you being unreasonable?
After Jesus resurrected, he appeared to his disciples, and he said, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Do you know what this word means? Have you been clothed with his power now? Have you understood what the power is? Jesus said that in the end time the Spirit of truth would be bestowed to people. Now is the end time; do you have the Spirit of truth? Where is the Spirit of truth? Are those unclean spirits and evil spirits the Spirit of truth? They do not have justice, much less the supply of life. And they still keep the old law and do not have any new work. Are these the Spirit of truth? Do they have the life, the truth, and the way? Are they separated from the world? Have you who obstinately hold to the Bible and stubbornly cling to Jesus obeyed the work Jesus did and the words he spoke at that time? How faithful are you to Jesus? At that time, even in the greatest book of prophecy by Isaiah in the Old Testament, he did not say that one named “Jesus” would be born in the New Testament age. He only said that a baby boy would be born and he would be called Immanuel. Why did he not say that he would be called “Jesus”? There is no such word in the Old Testament at all, so why do you still believe in Jesus? Did you believe in Jesus after you saw him? Or did you believe in him after you received a revelation? Could God have been so gracious to you? Could he have given you so great a blessing? By what did you believe in Jesus? Why can you not believe in God incarnate of today? Why do you say that as God has not given you a revelation, it proves that God has not been incarnated? Must God first tell man before he does a work? Must he get man’s permission? Isaiah only said that a baby boy would be born in a manger, but he did not prophesy that Jesus would be born of Mary. By what did you believe in Jesus who was born of Mary? You didn’t believe foolishly, did you? Some say that God’s name does not change. Then why did the name of Jehovah change to Jesus? It had been said that Messiah would come, but why did one named Jesus come? How could God’s name change? Aren’t these the works God did long ago? Can God not do a newer work today? Since the work of yesterday could be changed and the work of “Jehovah” could be continued by “Jesus,” can’t the work of “Jesus” be succeeded by another work? Since the name of “Jehovah” could change to “Jesus,” can’t the name of “Jesus” also be changed? These are not strange things. People think so, only because their mind is too simple. God is God after all. No matter how his work changes and how his name changes, his disposition and his wisdom will never change. If you think that God can only be called by the name of Jesus, your knowledge is too little. Do you dare to say that Jesus will forever be God’s name and God will forever be called Jesus and his name will never change again? Can you be certain that the name “Jesus” is the name that ended the Age of the Law and will also end the final age? Who can say that the grace of “Jesus” can end the age? If now you cannot know these truths clearly, not only will you not be able to do the work of preaching the gospel, but even you yourself will not be able to stand. If one day you can resolve all the problems of the religious people and refute all their fallacies, it will be proof that you are completely certain about this stage of work and do not have any doubt about it. If you cannot refute their fallacies, they will frame you and slander you. Won’t that be a shameful thing?
At that time, the Jews all read the Old Testament, and they knew that Isaiah had prophesied that a baby boy would be born in a manger. Why did they still persecute Jesus although they clearly knew there was such a prophecy? Wasn’t it all because of their disobedient nature and because they did not know the work of the Holy Spirit? The Pharisees of that time thought that what Jesus did was different from what they knew about the baby boy in the prophecy. And people of today reject God because the incarnated God does not work according to the Bible. Isn’t their substance of disobeying God the same? Can you accept it as long as it is the work of the Holy Spirit? If it is the work of the Holy Spirit, it means that it is the right “stream,” so you should accept it without any misgiving and should not accept it selectively. Isn’t it unnecessary for you to exercise some discernment toward and caution against God? You should accept a work without looking for more biblical bases as long as it is the work of the Holy Spirit, because in believing in God, you are to follow God, and you should not investigate God. You should not look for more bases for me to prove that I am your God. You should be able to discern whether I am beneficial to you. This is most crucial. Even if you find more conclusive evidence in the Bible, it cannot bring you completely into my presence, and you are only a person living in the Bible but not a person living in my presence. The Bible cannot help you to know me or to have a deeper love for me. Although the Bible prophesied that a baby boy would be born, yet because people did not know God’s work, no one could discern in whom that prophecy would be fulfilled. Consequently, those Pharisees all resisted Jesus. Some people know that everything I do is beneficial to man, but they always think that I and Jesus are very different and are completely alien from each other. At that time, Jesus only delivered a series of sermons of the Age of the Grace, such as what his disciples should practice, how they should have meetings, how they should pray and supplicate, and how they should treat others in the Age of the Grace. What he did was the work of the Age of the Grace. He only spoke about what his disciples should practice at that time and what his followers should practice at that time. At that time he only did the work of the Age of the Grace and did not do the work of the end time. In the Age of the Law, Jehovah made the law of the Old Testament. Why did he not do the work of the Age of the Grace? Why did he not speak clearly about all the work of the Age of the Grace ahead of time? Wasn’t all this helpful to people’s accepting it? He only prophesied that a baby boy would be born and shoulder the government, but he did not do the work of the Age of the Grace ahead of time. God does the work of each age within very clear boundaries. He only does the work of that age and does not do the work of the next stage ahead of time. Only in this way can his representative work in each age be highlighted. At that time, Jesus only spoke about what the sign of the end time would be and about how people at that time should be patient, how they could be saved, and how they should repent, confess their sins, bear the cross, and endure sufferings, and he did not speak about what people in the end time should enter into and how they should pursue so that they can satisfy God’s heart’s desire. So, if you look for God’s end-time work in the Bible, aren’t you absurd? What can you find out by only reading the Bible? Could anyone, whether a Bible expositor or a preacher, see the work of today clearly beforehand?
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Now have you heard the word of the Holy Spirit? God’s word has come to you; have you heard it? God does the work of the word in the end time, and this word is the word of the Holy Spirit. This is because God is the Holy Spirit and God can also be incarnated. So, the word of the Holy Spirit, which was spoken of before, is the word of the incarnated God of today. Many absurd people think that since the Holy Spirit speaks, he should utter his voice from heaven for men to hear. Those who think this way are all ones who do not know God’s work. Actually, for the Holy Spirit to speak and utter his voice is for God incarnate to speak and utter his voice. The Holy Spirit cannot possibly speak to men directly. Even in the Age of the Law, Jehovah did not speak to the people directly. How much less in the present age? For God to do his work by speaking and uttering his voice, he has to be incarnated. Otherwise, his work cannot achieve its purpose. Those who do not acknowledge God incarnate are all ones who do not know the Spirit and who do not know the principle of God’s working. Those who believe that now is the age of the Holy Spirit but do not accept the new work of the Holy Spirit are all ones living in a vague belief. Such people can never receive the working of the Holy Spirit. Those who only seek the direct speaking and working of the Holy Spirit but do not accept the word and work of the incarnated God can never enter into the new age and can never be thoroughly saved by God!
