You all want very much to receive some reward before God and to find favor in God’s eyes. This is a wish everyone has after believing in God, because everyone sets his heart on pursuing high things and no one wants to fall behind others, which is natural and normal. For this very reason, many of you simply curry favor with the God in heaven. But in reality your faithfulness and frankness to God fall far short of your faithfulness and frankness to yourselves. Why do I say so? It is because I do not at all acknowledge your faithfulness to God, and even more I deny the existence of the god in your hearts. That is to say, the god you worship does not exist at all, and the vague god you adore does not exist at all. The reason why I say this with such certainty is that you are too far from the true God. You have some faithfulness because of the existence of other idols in your hearts. But as for me, a God who is not great and not small in your eyes, you all only acknowledge with your mouth. To say that you are too far from God means that you are far away from the true God but seem to be a few feet away from the vague god. To say that he is not great means that the God you believe in today seems to be only a man who does not have very great “power” and who is not very lofty. To say that he is not small means that this person, though unable to summon wind and rain, can call in God’s Spirit to do a work that shakes heaven and earth, leaving man puzzled despite his much thought. Outwardly, you all are very submissive to this Christ on earth, but in substance you do not believe in him or love him. That is to say, the one you really believe in is the vague god in your feelings, and the one you really love is the god you yearn for day and night and you have never seen. Your belief in this Christ is only ten or twenty percent, and your love for him is only zero. Belief means to believe and trust; love means to long for and look up to in the heart and never part with. But your belief in and love for the Christ of today fall far short of these. Speaking of belief, how do you believe in him? Speaking of love, how do you love him? You do not know his disposition at all, much less know his substance. Then how do you believe in him? Where is the reality of your believing in him? How do you love him? Where is the reality of your loving him?
Many people have resolutely followed me to today without turning back. During these years, you have suffered much from “fatigue.” I have known very clearly about the character and likes of each of you. It is really far more hard to have dealings with each of you. However, it is a pity that although I have grasped much information concerning you, you have not known anything about me. It is no wonder that others all say that you have been duped by a person due to your momentary foolishness. As it turns out, you do not know my disposition, much less can you fathom my mind. Now your misunderstandings of me even become more and more serious, and your belief is still a foolish belief. You all are currying favor with and fawning on me rather than believing in me. Your purpose is very simple—I will follow whoever can give me a reward and believe in whoever can help me escape the great disasters, regardless of whether he is God or which Person of God he is, which has nothing to do with me. There are many such people among you, and such a state is very serious. If one day a test is given to see how many of you believe in Christ because of having clearly seen his substance, I am afraid that none of you can satisfy my wish. Each of you may as well think about such a matter: The god you believe in is far different from me, so what is the substance of your believing in God? The more you believe in your so-called god, the further you are away from me; what is the substance of this matter? You must have not thought about such a matter. But have you thought about the seriousness of this matter? Have you thought about what the consequences will be if you continue to believe like this?
Now, there are many problems confronting you, yet none of you is good at solving problems. If this situation continues, the ones who suffer loss will be you yourselves. I will help you know the problems, but you yourselves have to solve them.
I appreciate very much those who have no suspicion about others and like very much those who are willing to accept the truth. Toward these people, I show much care, because these two kinds of people are honest people in my eyes. If you are a very crafty person, you will have guard against and suspicion about everything and everyone. So your belief in me is also based on suspicion. Such a belief can never be acknowledged by me. Since you do not have a true belief, much less do you have a truer love. You even doubt God and even suspect him at will, so you are undoubtedly a most crafty person. You suspect whether God is unforgivably sinful like man, narrow-minded like man, unfair and unreasonable like man, without the sense of justice like man, diabolic in his ways and sinister and cunning like man, fond of evil and darkness like man, and so on. Isn’t it all because people do not have any knowledge of God that they have these thoughts? Such a belief is simply committing iniquity! Some even think that the ones I like are just those who know how to curry favor and flatter and that those who do not know these will be unpopular and unable to stand in God’s family. Is this your knowledge over the years? Is this your gain? Your knowledge of me is not just these misunderstandings but even more your blasphemies against God’s Spirit and slanders against Heaven. So I say that such a belief of yours will only cause you to be further from me and will only cause you to be more hostile to me. During the years of work, you have seen many truths, but do you know what I have heard in the ear? How many among you are willing to accept the truth? You all think that you are willing to pay the price for the truth, but how many of you really suffer because of the truth? All that you have in your hearts is only unrighteousness. So you think that anyone, no matter who, is crafty and crooked. You even think that God incarnate, like a normal man, also does not have a kind heart and compassionate love. And you even think that a noble character and a merciful and compassionate nature are only possessed by the God in heaven, and you also think that such a holy man does not exist, that only darkness and evil rule in the world, and that God is only one whom man puts his beautiful hope on and is a legendary character invented by man. In your heart, the God in heaven is very upright, very righteous, and very great, worthy for man to worship and look up to, whereas this God on earth is merely a substitute for and a tool of the God in heaven, and this God cannot be considered equal to the God in heaven, much less be mentioned in the same breath with the God in heaven. When God’s greatness and honor are mentioned, they are the glory of the God in heaven. When man’s nature and corruption are mentioned, this God on earth has a part in them. The God in heaven is forever lofty, whereas the God on earth is forever small and weak and powerless; the God in heaven has no emotion but only righteousness, whereas the God on earth only has selfishness but not any fairness and justice; the God in heaven is not at all crooked and is forever faithful, whereas the God on earth forever has a dishonest aspect; the God in heaven loves man to the utmost, whereas the God on earth does not take considerate care of man and even disregards man. Such fallacious knowledge is wrong knowledge that you have kept in your hearts for a long time and that you can continue to have in the future. You look at everything done by Christ in the position of an unrighteous man and judge all the work of Christ and his identity and substance from the angle of a wicked man. You have made a very great mistake and have done something that men of former times had never done. That is, you have always only served the lofty God in heaven who wears a crown, but have never “waited on” such a God who is too small for you to see at all. Isn’t this your sinful deed? Isn’t this a typical example of your offending God’s disposition? You worship very much the God in heaven, adore very much lofty images, admire very much men who speak elegantly, like very much to be at the command of the god who makes your hands full of money, and miss very much the god who could satisfy your desire in every aspect. You just do not worship such a God who is not lofty, just hate to have dealings with such a God whom no one thinks highly of, just do not want to do service for such a God who never gives you a single cent, and just do not yearn for such a God who is not lovely. Such a God cannot feed your eyes or make you feel as if you had got the most valuable treasure, much less fulfill your wishes. Then why do you follow him? Have you ever thought about such a matter?
What you have done has not only offended this Christ, but even more offended the God in heaven. I don’t think this is your purpose of believing in God! You want very much to please God, but you yourselves are very far from God. How is this? You only accept his words but do not accept his dealing and pruning, much less can you accept his every arrangement or fully believe in him. And how is this? In a word, your belief is an empty eggshell and can never bring forth a chick. This is because your belief has not brought you the truth or gained you life but brought you a kind of dreamy expectation and hope. You believe in God just for this expectation and hope but not for the truth and life. So, I say that the course of your believing in God is nothing but a course of currying favor with God servilely and shamelessly and is far from a true belief. How could such a belief bring forth a chick? That is to say, how could such a belief produce any fruit? Your purpose of believing in God is to make use of God to achieve your aim. Isn’t this even more a fact of your offending God’s disposition? You believe in the existence of the God in heaven but deny the existence of the God on earth. But I do not recognize your viewpoint. I only approve those who serve the God on earth in a down-to-earth manner but never approve those who never acknowledge the Christ on earth. No matter how faithful these people are to the God in heaven, in the end they cannot escape my hand that punishes the evil ones. These people are the evil ones, the evil ones who resist God and who are never willing to obey Christ. These evil ones, of course, include all those who do not know Christ and those who do not even acknowledge Christ. You think that as long as you are faithful to the God in heaven, you can do to Christ whatever you want to do. It is wrong! If you do not know Christ, it means that you do not know the God in heaven. No matter how faithful you are to the God in heaven, it is only an empty talk and only hypocrisy. For the God on earth is not only beneficial to man’s gaining the truth and beneficial to man’s having a deeper knowledge, but even more advantageous to condemning man, and then advantageous to grasping the facts so as to punish the evil ones. Have you understood the benefits and consequences here? Have you experienced them? I wish that you all could understand this truth sooner—In knowing God, you should not only know the God in heaven, but more importantly know the God on earth. Do not confuse the primary with the secondary or replace the major with the minor. Only in this way can you truly build a good relationship with God and can you have a closer relationship with God and be closer to God’s heart. If you have believed in God for years and have been dealing with me for a long time but you are far estranged from me, then I say that you must have often offended God’s disposition and that your outcome is certainly very hard to tell. If you, having dealt with me for years, have not been transformed into a person who has humanity and the truth but on the contrary have become accustomed to evil practices, and you have not only become extremely arrogant but have increasingly serious misunderstandings of me and even treat me as a playmate of yours, then I say that your disease is not skin deep but in your marrow. You just wait for your funeral affairs! You do not need to beseech me again to be your God, because you have committed a capital offense, an unforgivable sin. Even if I can forgive you, the God in heaven will certainly take your life, because your offending God’s disposition is not a common problem but is very serious. At that time, you shall not complain that I have not told you this beforehand. I will still say this word: When you associate with Christ, the God on earth, as an ordinary man, that is, when you think that this God is a man, it will be the time you go to the netherworld. This is my only admonition to everyone.
