991 How Should You Treat Your Own Words and Actions?
Intro
Do you believe God’s words and retribution?
That He’ll punish those who deceive, betray Him?
Do you prefer that day to come sooner or later?
Verse 1
Are you afraid of punishment, or will you resist God,
even knowing there’s punishment?
And when that day does arrive,
will you be midst the crying or cheers?
Pre-chorus
Are you hopeful or afraid
that all God’s words will be fulfilled?
Chorus
If you’re hopeful God departs soon to fulfill His words,
how should you treat your words and actions?
If you don’t hope for this to happen,
why believe in Him at all?
Verse 2
What endings do you wish to have?
Do you fully believe or doubt God?
Have you studied the results and endings
your actions and behavior will bring?
Pre-chorus
Are you hopeful or afraid
that all God’s words will be fulfilled?
Chorus
If you’re hopeful God departs soon to fulfill His words,
how should you treat your words and actions?
If you don’t hope for this to happen,
why believe in Him at all?
Bridge
Do you know why you’re following Him?
If just to widen your horizons,
then there’s no need to suffer these grievances.
But if it’s to be blessed and evade disaster,
why aren’t you concerned about your conduct?
Why don’t you ask yourself
if you can meet His demands
or are qualified to receive His future blessings?
Chorus
If you’re hopeful God departs soon to fulfill His words,
how should you treat your words and actions?
If you don’t hope for this to happen,
why believe in Him at all?
