I Realize That Only If One Has the Truth Can He Do Well the Work of Serving God

In the past, it was often mentioned in the meetings that “only if one understands and has the truth can he do well the work of serving God,” but I did not have any true knowledge of this word. Recently, through cooperating in the work of God’s family clearing the church, I have had some true experience and knowledge of this word.

In our small district, there was a sister who was dismissed from her position in 2004 because she was always perfunctory about her work. Afterward, instead of examining and knowing herself, she was disobedient and resentful all along. She often spread among the brothers and sisters that all the work of God’s family was done by man, and as a result many of the brothers and sisters in the church were disturbed by her. When the work arrangement “The Thirteen Criteria of Expelling Two Kinds of People” came, I expelled her in view of her behavior and put her case on record. Later, God’s family demanded that all the records of the expellees be reviewed and that they must be absolutely true and accurate. Then, through the brothers and sisters’ inquiry, I learned that she had now gained some knowledge and she said “no matter how others treat me I believe God is righteous….” I could not but waver: Should this person be expelled or not? According to the recent information, if it’s wrong to expel her, won’t I become an evildoer? But, according to her usual behavior, if she’s really an antichrist, it will be a danger to let her stay in God’s family…. Then I fell into a quandary about what to do, feeling as if a heavy load weighed on my mind.

When I was at a loss, I read in a new work arrangement from above these words: “To do things according to the principles, we have to see clearly the essence of the problems and can never deal with people according to their outward transgressions. Only thus can we ensure what we do is after God’s heart. But those who cannot see people’s substance clearly are apt to violate the principles and observe regulations rigidly. Now most leaders have this deficiency. This is mainly because they understand too little about the truth and cannot see clearly the substance of most people. Thus, when encountering things they become confused and do not know what to do…. To expel or clear away a person from the church, you have to see clearly the substance of this person; at least, you should see clearly that this person will not gain transformation no matter how many more years he may believe, that this person is absolutely not a pursuer of the truth, that this person does not at all have the conscience and sense of a normal man, and that the Holy Spirit will never work on such a person. Only if he is generally considered as such a person can he be cleared away or expelled. Thus, you can ensure that no mistakes are made. If you do not understand God’s will as to what kind of people he saves, what kind of people he gives up, and what kind of people he eliminates, you will have no way to do the work of God’s family expelling or clearing away people.”

After reading this passage, I realized that I always felt oppressed and uncertain in doing the church-clearing work in this period just because I understood too little about the truth, knew the truth too superficially, could not see people’s substance clearly, and did not understand God’s will as to what kind of people he saves, what kind of people he eliminates, and what kind of people he gives up. Actually, God’s family decides whether a person should be expelled according to his substance. The main things to consider are how this person behaves all along, whether he is a pursuer of the truth, and whether he can gain transformation. Only measuring this way is accurate. However, when I reviewed the expulsion of the sister, I was deceived by her temporary words and did not see her substance through her usual behavior. Thus, I was in a quandary about what to do. On reflection, she said the word “no matter how others treat me I believe God is righteous,” the substance of which is not that she had knowledge of God and had obedience to God. Rather, she asserted herself to be right, still holding that the work of God’s family was done by man, and she had notions and complaints within. She did not have any knowledge of her behavior of disturbing the church and spreading notions or her nature and substance of disobeying and resisting God, nor did she show a sign of true repentance. Judging from her behavior of many years, she is in substance of the kind of antichrists and fully fits the condition of being expelled from God’s family. When I understood these, I felt oppressed no more. And I felt peaceful about the expulsion of this person.

Through this experience, I have truly realized that without the truth, one cannot see clearly the essence of problems and will do things in confusion and without principles, unable to do the work of God’s family properly. Only if one understands the truth and has the truth can he do well the substantial work of serving God. O God, thanks for your leading. From now on, I will spend more effort on the truth and pursue to understand more truths, so that I can truly solve problems with the truth and perform my duty properly.
