235 Man’s Thinking Is Too Conservative
Verse 1
God’s work always moves forward.
Though His purpose never changes,
the way He works changes all the time,
so those who follow Him are changing too.
The more work God performs,
the more thoroughly man knows Him.
Man’s disposition changes through God’s work too.
Verse 2
Since the work of God keeps changing,
those who are unaware of
the work the Holy Spirit does
and those absurd ones who don’t know the truth
begin to resist God.
His work defies man’s notions,
His work is always new and is never old.
Chorus
God does not repeat His old work,
instead always forging ahead.
Man keeps judging God’s current work
by the work He did in the past.
It’s become hard for God to do
each stage of work in the new age.
Man has too many problems.
He thinks too conservatively!
All put limits on God’s work,
though no one really knows it.
Verse 3
When man leaves God behind,
he loses life and truth;
God’s blessings are taken away.
Man refuses all these things God gives to him.
People think that God can only
be the God under the law
and the God nailed to the cross for mankind’s sake.
Verse 4
They think God can’t and shouldn’t
go beyond the Bible,
so they’re bound to the laws of old,
firmly shackled to the old, dead rules.
There are still more who believe
that whatever God’s new work,
it must be confirmed by prophecies.
Bridge
They believe that in each stage of new work,
all those who follow Him with a “true” heart
must be shown revelations,
or else the work can’t be the work of God.
Verse 5
It’s hard for man to know God.
This plus man’s absurd heart
and man’s self-importance
makes it harder to accept God’s new work.
Man does not look deeply into it,
nor does he humbly accept it;
instead, he only views it with contempt.
Pre-chorus
He awaits revelations and guidance from God.
Is this not the behavior of those who rebel?
How can such people gain God’s approval?
Chorus
God does not repeat His old work,
instead always forging ahead.
Man keeps judging God’s current work
by the work He did in the past.
It’s become hard for God to do
each stage of work in the new age.
Man has too many problems.
He thinks too conservatively!
All put limits on God’s work,
though no one really knows it.
