922 No Man or Thing Can Surpass God’s Authority and Power
Verse 1
Though Satan looked at Job with covetous eyes,
it could not touch a hair without God’s permission.
Though Satan is evil and cruel, it had no choice
but to abide by God’s command.
Satan doesn’t dare to disobey God’s words,
for each word is an order and heavenly law,
an expression of His authority,
implying punishment for those who oppose Him.
Chorus
No person, thing, nor Satan
can or dares to violate God’s laws,
for none can escape the punishment
God sends on those who disobey them.
Verse 2
Satan’s acts to Job were a small example
of its corruption of man,
and God’s limits and orders for Satan
were a microcosm of its principles.
Satan’s role was just a small display
of its role and position in God’s management.
And its obedience to God while tempting Job
was a small example of not daring oppose God.
Chorus
No person, thing, nor Satan
can or dares to violate God’s laws,
for none can escape the punishment
God sends on those who disobey them.
Bridge
Only God can establish heavenly laws and edicts.
Only He has power to put them into effect.
His power cannot be transgressed
by any person or thing.
This is God’s unique authority, above all things.
So you can’t say “God is greatest and Satan’s number two.”
Except for the Creator, possessed of unique authority,
there is no other God!
Chorus
No person, thing, nor Satan
can or dares to violate God’s laws,
for none can escape the punishment
God sends on those who disobey them.
