32. A Person Who Can Truly Love God in the Battle Against Satan Is One Perfected by God
A person who understands the truth has already realized that the deepest lesson regarding belief in God is loving and submitting to God as well as knowing Him, and there are many truths and mysteries beneath all these. Loving and submitting to God and knowing Him are far more profound, deeper and more meaningful than any scientific knowledge because a person who truly knows God sees the fact and the truth about God creating the heaven and earth and everything in it as well as His dominion over all things in the universe; knows that God’s almightiness and wisdom are beyond comprehension; knows God’s disposition of righteousness and His essence of holiness and kindness; knows that God’s wonderful work is great and to be feared and is unfathomable; knows that all that man gets to enjoy has been predestined and arranged by God; knows that Satan is the one who has corrupted and trampled on mankind and is devouring mankind right now and causes it to plunge deeply into sin and overwhelming destruction, that mankind would have been devoured and destroyed by Satan long ago had it not been for God’s leading and protection; and sees clearly that Satan and the evil forces of the great red dragon is the root of the darkness and evil in the world, and that mankind would not be able to truly turn to God and receive salvation if it is not able to escape Satan’s dark influence. A person who truly knows God knows that God is the most adorable and always the most worthy of man’s praise and worship. Mankind is able to enjoy, love, obey and worship God to the fullest extent when it has true knowledge of God. Mankind is then able to truly enter rest and need never to run around busily and tiringly in search of it. As man would naturally enjoy God’s love and receive His full salvation when he truly knows Him, he thus becomes a person who truly loves God. This is the true mark of having a change in one’s life disposition after having been perfected by God. Only a person who loves, obeys and worships God is able to live a true life and experience the true meaning of His promises and blessings. This is mankind’s only way to receive salvation and escape Satan’s dark influence. The more man loves and satisfies God, the more he would feel that God is indeed too adorable and be able to see that the life that God gives to man is one full of the truth and love for God. It is indeed very abundant. Therefore, the more man pursues the truth, the truer, purer and stronger his heart to love God becomes, and the more absolutely and faithfully he would obey Him. He would love God to the fullest and submit to Him even to death just like Peter. He would then live out the likeness of a true man completely. This is also the true meaning of man pursuing the truth and being perfected by God.
After having experienced the great red dragon’s frenzied attack and cruel persecution, God’s chosen people have seen that this is the actual training of the kingdom. God’s chosen people have deep sentiments about this. When thinking back, they become aware that they have no real understanding of God’s work even after they have believed in Him for a few years. Though they understand from theory that God is indeed saving and perfecting people, they are still negative and complain against God when they face the great red dragon’s frenzied attack and cruel persecution, and they do not bear resounding testimonies for Him. Their stature is indeed small, and they have not become Christ’s elite soldiers. They are not people who truly love God and are far from the standards of the overcomers. This proves sufficiently that man does not understand sufficiently the significance behind God’s use of the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service. Though most of God’s chosen people have experienced the persecution and oppression of the great red dragon and various other tribulations and have developed real hatred and curses for the great red dragon and have seen that it is indeed Satan the devil, the enemy of God, yet not many of them were able to pursue the truth and love God truly. God’s purpose of using the great red dragon to serve as a foil is to let God’s chosen people know its evil, reactionary substance of Satan the devil. God wants to awaken His chosen people to develop a thirst and pursuit of the light and justice so that they may truly love the truth and truly love, obey and worship God. This is God’s love. “How do you learn how to love God? Without torment and refinement, without painful trials—and if, furthermore, all that God gave man were grace, love, and mercy—would you be able to attain the true love of God? On one hand, during God’s trials man comes to know his deficiencies, and sees that he is insignificant, contemptible, and lowly, that he has nothing, and is nothing; on the other hand, during His trials God creates different environments for man that make man more able to experience the loveliness of God. Although the pain is great, and sometimes insurmountable—and it even reaches the level of crushing grief—having experienced it, man sees how lovely is God’s work in him, and only upon this foundation is there born in man the true love of God.” Is this not God perfecting His chosen ones through trials and refinement?
All those who have been persecuted and oppressed by the great red dragon have begun to hate and curse it in their hearts. This is the preliminary effect achieved in escaping Satan’s dark influence. True hatred for the great red dragon is the beginning of forsaking it because true hatred for the great red dragon causes one to hate everything that comes from it. It is definitely not merely hating its lies, evil deeds and violent actions; it is most importantly hating its disposition of Satan as well as its demonic nature and various poisons. Only in this way can one’s rebellion of the great red dragon be realized and can one receive all the truth and entrustments given by God and fulfill all the duties that His creation ought to fulfill. This is the actual action of and true entry into the rebellion of the great red dragon. When man understands and practices the truth and does his duties competently, he would see many more adorable sides of God. Not only would he have true knowledge of God’s disposition of righteousness and His almightiness and wisdom, he would have thirst and longing for what He is and has at the same time. He would hope to live out the image of the truth as soon as possible and be equipped with the reality of truth and become a person loving God so as to be perfected by Him. When man is able to truly love God, he would be able to understand fully the significance of His use of the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service. Therefore, man is able to pursue the truth to achieve true love of God and to exalt and witness Him at the same time as he hates and curses the great red dragon, and seek to be fit for use by God so as to be able to serve His will. Such experience of and submission to God’s work would take him on the road to being perfected.
“Today, as you seek to love and know God, in one respect you must endure hardship and refinement, and in another, you must pay a price. No lesson is more profound than the lesson of loving God, and it can be said that the lesson that people learn from a lifetime of belief is how to love God. Which is to say, if you believe in God you must love God. If you only believe in God but do not love Him, have not attained the knowledge of God, and have never loved God with a true love that comes from within your heart, then your belief in God is futile; if, in your belief in God, you do not love God, then you live in vain, and your entire life is the most lowly of all lives. If, throughout your whole life, you have never loved or satisfied God, then what is the point of you living? And what is the point of your belief in God? Isn’t that a waste of effort?” God’s chosen people have seen the great red dragon’s true evil, brutal, cruel, despicable and ugly face in its frenzied capturing and cruel persecution of them, and have seen completely through the demonic essence of its nature. Only those who pursue the truth would be able to submit themselves to God’s control when they are going through trials and tribulations, and they could forsake their flesh and set their mind to rather die satisfying God. They could forsake the flesh and endure the pain suffered during the torture meted out by the great red dragon while in prison and would rather rot in prison than submit to Satan. In the end, the great red dragon is completely shamed and defeated and God’s chosen people bear a beautiful and resounding testimony for Him. These are the people who truly hate and forsake the great red dragon. They would have thus escaped Satan’s influence and truly turn and submit to God and truly love God in their hearts. They would then be on the path of being perfected and their lives would be growing and maturing by the day. However, when those who do not have even a bit of love for God in their hearts suffer pain and torture in their flesh upon their capture they would beg the great red dragon to have mercy and compassion on them, and they are thus defeated and have fallen. Therefore, only those who truly love the truth and who could love God in their heart are able to withstand the tortures being meted out and are able to submit even to their deaths and bear a beautiful and resounding witness for God so as to shame Satan. Even though those who do not love the truth and those who do not have even a bit of love for God in their hearts hate the great red dragon as well, they cannot endure the pain suffered by the flesh. They would even deny and betray God and fall under Satan’s domain. Whether man has love for God or not would be completely revealed this way. God’s chosen people should think about and reflect upon their experiences seriously. Why were the others able to withstand all that they have been through whereas they themselves have fallen and been defeated? Why had the others been able to bear a resounding testimony whereas they failed? What is the root of the problem? A person would not have even a bit of love for God if he does not love the truth, and so he would fall and be defeated during trials and tribulations, and he would not have true testimonies. How God’s chosen people pursue the truth during trials and tribulations so as to truly love God concerns directly whether or not they are able to be perfected by God. Some people just do not understand why God uses the great red dragon as a foil to perfect His chosen ones and could not see at all that this is the best way and the critical moment with which God perfects them. It is clear that man does not know how to pursue the truth so as to be able to stand witness and be perfected by God if he does not know His work. One would not be able to be on the path to pursuing the truth so as to be perfected by God if he does not understand His will.
During the various trials and tribulations, especially during the critical moment of experiencing the cruel persecution by the great red dragon, which both perfects and reveals man, whether man is indeed truly pursuing the truth is determined by whether his heart loves God truly. This is the key to whether man is able to bear a beautiful and resounding testimony for God. God is using the foil and object of service that is the great red dragon to reveal whether man loves and is faithful to Him and whether he truly fears and submits to Him. No matter how well man talks during normal times, it does not mean he practices what he preaches. Whether man is able to bear a victorious testimony for God before the great red dragon is the most revealing of whether man has the reality of truth. A person who truly pursues the truth is able to pray to God to seek the truth while going through trials and tribulations and is able to fellowship truly with God to receive His illumination and enlightenment. He would then be able to discover how affable and adorable God is, and his heart would be able to truly love and submit to Him. He would then be able to endure all pain and suffering to satisfy God and be able to forsake the flesh and forsake his future and destiny. He would be able to offer his life to God and let Him take charge of it, and he would have no complaints even if he were to lose his life. Such obedience and love transcends the constraints of death and triumphs over Satan’s dark influence. Such a love for God is therefore true love for Him. Most people put their future and destiny first at critical moments and even take staying alive as the only objective. Such a person is not one who truly loves God and does not possess any reality of the truth at all. He is thus not able to stand firm. In the last days, that is, before this age of darkness and evil is destroyed, God is determined to perfect and gain even more people who love Him to make them people who are after His heart. Therefore, “God is eager for man to love Him, but the more man loves Him, the greater man’s suffering, and the more man loves Him, the greater man’s trials. If you love Him, then every kind of suffering will befall you—and if you don’t, then perhaps everything will go smoothly for you, and all will be peaceful around you. When you love God, you will feel that much around you is insurmountable, and because your stature is too small you will be refined; moreover, you are incapable of satisfying God, and you will always feel that God’s will is too lofty, that it is beyond the reach of man. Because of all this you will be refined—because there is much weakness within you, and much that is incapable of satisfying the will of God, you will be refined inside. Yet you must clearly see that purification is only achieved through refinement. Thus, during these last days you must bear testimony to God. No matter how great your suffering, you should go on to the very end, and even at your last breath, still you must be faithful to God, and at the mercy of God; only this is truly loving God, and only this is the strong and resounding testimony.” If man does not go through such insane and cruel persecution and oppression as those meted out by the great red dragon, he would indulge in loud and empty talk, be pleased with himself and be arrogant and obnoxious. God uses the contrast and service of the great red dragon to reveal man for the purpose of helping His chosen ones to enter into life and be perfected. Most people who are released from prison would feel that they are of small stature and that they are weak and negative or even tattered and ragged during trials and tribulations. They would then know the importance of pursuing the truth, and that not having a love for God is the root of their failure. It is as if it is then that they know what possessing the reality of truth means, but all is not too late because God’s work does not end as long as the great red dragon has not collapsed. Now is a good opportunity to pursue the truth. Failing and falling once or twice is nothing to be afraid of; it is scarier if man gives up on himself and denies and betrays God, for that is beyond redemption. People who are too negative have the nature of denying and betraying God and do not have true faith. They would be beyond redemption if they do not pursue the truth and truly repent. So, pursuing the truth is indeed not something that is simple. One must go through all sorts of trials and tribulations before he is able to enter the reality of truth in order to become one who truly loves God. In the face of the great red dragon’s frenzied attack and cruel persecution, man would not be able to stand firm if he does not possess the reality of truth. If he does not pursue the truth and love God truly, he would not have a testimony that is truly resounding, and he would not be a person who is successful in believing in God. He would betray the church and its leaders if he were captured. He would be a betrayer of God and would be punished by Him. If he did not truly repent and atone for his sin with merit, he would be completely eliminated. God would put man through all kinds of trials and refinement if he loves God truly for him to suffer all kinds of pain for the purpose of perfecting those who love God. If man bears a resounding testimony for God, he is qualified to be one of the people of the kingdom and meets the criteria for being perfected by God. Therefore, the more man goes through trials and tribulations, the more he is perfected, and the higher the criteria he is able to meet. This is God’s love, His making of an exception to uplift man and to show him grace and great love.
God’s chosen people have experienced the struggle between good and evil in their church life in the past and have seen through the true faces of all kinds of evil spirits and wicked people as well as antichrists, and they have become discerning. They have also seen the horror and danger of the devil’s dominion upon having gone through persecution and oppression by the great red dragon. All these negative events have shocked the souls of God’s chosen people greatly. It is as if they have been shocked awake from a dream and the truth has come to light. They have realized: Man cannot truly love God if he does not pursue the truth while he is alive and would not have real humanity. He would not be able to bear a resounding testimony. Man would have wasted his whole life if he is not able to love God while he is alive. He is a person who is selfish, despicable and of the lowest worth, and he would never receive God’s blessings. It is only now that God’s chosen people see that pursuing the truth is not something that is simple. It is indeed absolutely necessary for them to go through many persecutions, tribulations and trials so as to be able to love God. They finally understand that the contrast and service of the great red dragon is indeed necessary so that they may pursue the truth and gain life so as to achieve true love of God. It seems that going through the persecution and oppression of the great red dragon for God’s chosen people to know His work is indeed very meaningful. A person who truly loves God is the one who truly believes in Him and who has humanity. Man being able to truly love and obey God is something that is the most meaningful. He has to pass the persecution and oppression of the great red dragon in order to truly love God and have a resounding testimony before he is considered successful. This is precisely the reality of truth that God’s chosen people have to enter into right now. We can say that the objective of pursuing the truth is to know God, and the result of it is to truly love God. The purpose of pursuing the truth is to truly obey, witness, serve and worship God. This is very true. Man would have absolutely no reality of truth if he is not able to love God with his heart. A person who does not truly love God surely has no real knowledge of Him. Man would not be able to stand firm in tribulations and trials if he cannot truly love God in his heart, and he would be even less able to bear a good and resounding testimony to Him.
Most of God’s chosen people are now able to hate the great red dragon and are also able to emphasize on practicing the truth and obeying God in fulfilling their duties. They do their best to rid themselves of the great red dragon’s poisons and begin to forsake it. They begin to emphasize on entering the reality of truth. But most people do not understand God’s intention when He requires man to truly love Him. God’s requirement as such has deep and profound significance and is definitely not as simple as what man makes it out to be. God’s requirement of man to truly love Him is for them to pray to and communicate with Him and to accept and pursue the truth in order to know God. God requires man to love Him so that he may discover how much more adorable He is so that he may understand the truth, enter into reality and run toward the light. He would then receive all of God’s love at the end. This is truly God making an exception to uplift man and to show him grace and great love. Man knows that corrupt mankind does not deserve God’s love, but why does He still require man to love Him? This is exactly where God is adorable. God is willing to lower Himself and to descend from heaven because He loves mankind and wants to save it. He puts on ordinary mortal flesh, endures great humiliation, lives humbly hidden among and with man, and comes face-to-face and heart-to-heart with them so as to save and perfect man. This is God’s love for mankind. God’s love is too real and great that no words can describe. If God had not become flesh, how would man be able to interact with God and know Him? If God remains in heaven where no man can see Him, man would not be able to love Him practically. Because he cannot reach Him, how would he be able to love God who is in heaven? Man is dust before God in the first place, His creation, a microorganism. How does man deserve to love God in heaven? Therefore, God requires man to love Him during the period when He is in the flesh, and such a requirement only has practical significance this way. It is only now that man sees that God requires him to love Him because God wants to perfect and gain man. Therefore, man knows that God coming to perfect man during the last days is an opportunity of a lifetime. Many people are willing to pursue the truth, but they do not know that the significance of doing so is in essence the pursuit of loving God. The essence of pursuing to love God is the pursuit of being perfected. Man’s understanding and imagination of God’s requirement for him to love Him are too simple. He would only understand the true significance of loving God after he has gone through some trials and tribulations and has received the Holy Spirit’s illumination and enlightenment. God’s requirement for man to love Him was due to the fact that God loves man too much. God loves man like His own flesh and blood, like the apple of His eyes, and He does this to awaken man’s love for Him. Those who do not know God’s love certainly do not have love for God as well. When man has truly seen many adorable sides of God, he would feel that only God is able to truly love man this way, and that man has indeed too little love for Him, that his love for God is impure, and that he has no conscience and rationality indeed. Why does God use love to describe the relationship between Him and man? Why does God require man to love Him time and again? Man would never be able to finish talking about the adorable sides of God in these. If man were really able to somehow describe God’s love, he would have had true love for Him long ago and would hold nothing back in repaying God’s love. Man would never be aware of this if he has no conscience and rationality. God wants to perfect a group of people who truly love Him and who are of one mind with Him in His work during the last days. They will be a batch of overcomers who are the firstfruits when God’s work in China is done, and they are a group of people who truly love God. So God’s requirement for man to love Him is an exception that He makes to uplift mankind and show them grace and great love. Man is actually not deserving to love God, but He still requires man to pursue the truth to become one who loves Him. The significance therein is just too profound. God requires man to love Him because He loves man too much. It is clear to man that God is just too adorable, and only God is worthy of man’s praise and worship.
Why is the great red dragon resisting God insanely and persecuting His chosen ones cruelly? To put it bluntly, it is because the great red dragon is most afraid of God becoming flesh to save mankind, that the words spoken forth by God would spread throughout countless households and be known by all, and that God’s chosen people would understand and obtain the truth, be perfected and gained by God. The great red dragon thus resists, judges and profanes God with frenzied abandon and captures and persecutes God’s chosen people cruelly. God’s chosen ones have seen how the great red dragon is spreading lies everywhere to slander, resist and profane God. It is also doing all that it can to judge and attack the man that the Holy Spirit uses. This goes to prove that the great red dragon’s evil force is most fearful of God’s work and His truth. It is the enemy of God and of His chosen ones. God requires man to love Him because He wants to perfect and gain man while the great red dragon is most afraid of God’s chosen people being gained and perfected by God. It thus comes out in full force and attacks rampantly. This way, God, who became flesh, and the man used by the Holy Spirit become the foci and targets for the great red dragon’s attacks, slanders and profaning. The great red dragon’s objective is to make mankind distance itself from and forsake God through this. This is the great red dragon’s evil scheme. Therefore, God’s chosen people must bear beautiful and resounding testimonies if they want to be perfected by God and must have true love for Christ and absolute submission to Him. They must stand firm in loving, being faithful to and obeying God no matter how the great red dragon attacks and profanes Him. They must not give in to Satan even if it means their death, and must stand firm in loving, being faithful to and obeying God no matter how much pain they suffer. This is the beautiful and resounding testimony that they must bear in order to be perfected by God. God’s chosen people would naturally bear beautiful and resounding testimonies if they have true love for and absolute submission to Christ, the practical God. Those who do not have true love for and absolute submission to Christ cannot be saved and perfected by God, and are all failures in belief in God. It would not be practical however truly they believe in a vague God and however much they submit to him. They would not be commended by God. If God’s chosen people have true love for and absolute submission to Christ, the practical God, they would hold on to the true way and remain steadfast in their love for God no matter how the evil forces of the great red dragon attack, slander and profane Him. God’s chosen people would not be shaken in their true love for and submission to God no matter how the great red dragon deceives, threatens and persecutes them. They would believe only the truth and God and would definitely not listen to all of Satan’s lies and nonsense. People like this are able to bear a truly resounding testimony.
The leaders and workers of various levels in the church have experienced the revelation of a few months of gospel outreach, and most of them have come to realize that it is indeed not possible to do any practical work without the truth. They would not consider God’s will or truly submit to Him even if they fulfilled their duties if they do not have love for God. They would only go about their work by their own will without considering the consequences and pay attention to creating sensation and to formalities outside, hoodwinking every superior and subordinate with false data. When God unexpectedly requires man to pay attention to nurturing new believers and people studying the true way and to carry out practical and critical work, as well as requires him to report the actual number of people acquired, everyone gets stuck. Most people think that they would be able to receive God’s commendation when they report false data and create a little sensation, and it would make them look good as well. They did not expect that God does not look at any of these at all. Man does not understand and know it when God asks man to carry out practical and critical work time and again, and they do not understand God’s will at all. All they know is to make themselves look good and put on a show. Is this not cheating and resisting God openly and boldly? Does fulfilling one’s duty in such an absurd fashion serve to carry out God’s will? Does such a person have even a little true love for God? Man is shamed by the revelation of God. The great red dragon’s repeated frenzied arrests and cruel persecutions have revealed everybody. Those who are not able to fulfill their duties in strict accordance with the work arrangements do not have the heart that loves and obeys God. Man works only for his own status and reputation as well as desires and wants. Is this considering God’s will and obeying Him? Does this qualify as fulfilling one’s duties? Not only are some people fraudulent, they even spread the gospel using heresies and fallacies, and they allow the use of the unbelievers’ false rumors to spread the gospel. Such people are not even able to discern Satan’s heresies and fallacies. How are they able to exalt and witness God? Some people do things their own way during the critical moments of spiritual battles and even deceive people and try to disturb, destroy and damage the work of spreading the gospel using heresies and fallacies. Such people are Satan’s minions. Any leaders and workers who are not able to distinguish the various heresies and fallacies do not have the reality of truth. It would truly be a violation of the truth if they were also able to spread the gospel with groundless rumors. It would be cheating, humiliating and resisting God openly and boldly. The nature of such an issue is not merely one of purely using all sorts of despicable, low-down methods to spread the gospel. There are Satan’s schemes underneath it all, and the nature of these people is the antichrist. Even now, there are still people who insist on using despicable, low-down methods to spread the gospel. Such people do not have the reality of truth at all, and they thus resort to fooling and cheating God through heretic and crooked means. This is purely the evil spirits’ interruption and disruption of the work of spreading the gospel. Such people must be dismissed if they do not repent. Anyone who does not spread the gospel through practicing the truth but through heretic and crooked means are dubious and to be hated. They would be in grave danger if they do not repent, and they would not be able to receive salvation and be perfected. “If you do not know God’s disposition, then you will inevitably fall during trials, because you are unaware of how God makes people perfect, and by what means He makes them perfect, and when God’s trials come upon you and they don’t match your conceptions, you will be unable to stand firm. God’s true love is His entire disposition, and when God’s entire disposition is shown to you, what does this bring to your flesh? When God’s righteous disposition is shown to you, your flesh will inevitably suffer much pain. If you don’t suffer this pain, then you cannot be made perfect by God, nor will you be able to devote true love to God. If God makes you perfect, He will surely show His entire disposition to you. From the time of creation until today, God has never shown His entire disposition—but during the last days He reveals it to this group of people whom He has predestined and selected, and by making people perfect He lays bare His dispositions, through which He makes complete a group of people. Such is God’s true love for people. Experiencing God’s true love for them requires that people endure extreme pain, and pay a high price. Only after this will they be gained by God and be able to give their true love back to God, and only then will God’s heart be satisfied. If people wish to be made perfect by God, and if they wish to do His will, and fully give their true love to God, then they must experience much suffering and many torments from the circumstances, to suffer pain worse than death, ultimately they will be forced to give their true heart back to God. Whether or not someone truly loves God is revealed during hardship and refinement. God purifies people’s love, and this is also only achieved amid hardship and refinement.”
There are indeed some leaders and workers in the church who can basically persist in fulfilling their roles according to the work arrangements. These people are the ones who do practical work in a down-to-earth manner. Once they understand the truth and enter into reality, they would truly be people who are perfected by God. Those who truly love God have a distinctive characteristic, which is that they seek the truth and consider God’s will in whatever they do. They would never do things that resist and humiliate God. These are the people who fear God and shun evil. Those who truly love God have a heart that fears Him. They would be able to forsake and keep away from any evil actions that violate the truth or fallacies that do not conform to the truth, if they find any. They only carry out practical work that conform to God’s requirements and seek and practice the truth in all things. They are afraid of doing things that sadden and offend God unwittingly. Only those who consider God’s will this way are the ones who truly love God. The key to knowing if a person has true love for God lies in whether he is able to carry out practical work in a down-to-earth manner when fulfilling his duties, whether he is able to fulfill his duties according to the truth and work arrangements; and that he neither lusts after superficial reputation and status nor listens to other people’s irresponsible comments, but cares only if God is satisfied and is able to fear God and shun evil. Such is a person who truly loves God. It is clear from this that whether man has love for God is completely revealed in his fulfillment of his duties.
Love for God is achieved gradually through pursuing the truth and entering into reality in the course of fulfilling one’s duties. In fact, anyone who truly loves God has many impurities inside of him. These impurities come from their satanic nature and disposition, and so those who truly love God must accept His judgment and chastisement as well as trials and refinement before they can be perfected by Him. It is only when man seeks and pursues the truth and is pruned and dealt with during trials and tribulations that his love for God would become purer, and his impurities would surely be reduced. If man does not pursue the truth, his impurities would surely be much even if he were able to love God in his heart. Only a person who is willing to seek and pursue the truth in all things has the reality of truth. Only such a person is one who truly loves and obeys God, and he would surely have little impurities. Those arrogant people who do as they will and do not love and practice the truth at all are surely people with too many impurities and are filled with satanic disposition. Man’s impurities are manifested mainly in the four following aspects:
1. He always has his own ideas. In particular, he always acts on his own will based on man’s imagination when fulfilling his duties, and is unable to practice the truth.
2. He fulfills his duties only for the purpose of gaining status and reputation to satisfy his vanity. He is not able to do so faithfully to repay God for His love and to satisfy Him.
3. He does not practice the truth in a conscientious manner and pays attention only to creating a sensation and going through the motion so as to satisfy his own desires. He does not think of God’s will at all.
4. He always thinks of his own way out when fulfilling his duties. He fulfills his duties only for the purpose of gaining rewards and blessings and achieving his own ends rather than carrying out God’s will.
The four aspects above are the main impurities in man when he is fulfilling his duties. Man having these impurities goes to show that he is still living under the domain of Satan and has not escaped the shackles and constraints of the corrupted flesh. He does not fulfill his duties for the purpose of carrying out God’s will. He labors for his own status as well as future and destiny. This goes to show that man does not have love for God and is too selfish and despicable. Man should not think of his own future and destiny if he has love for God, and he should not scheme and strive to pursue his own status, vanity and reputation. He should fulfill his duties for the purpose of carrying out God’s will and satisfying God. He should be able to fear God and shun evil no matter how others look at and treat him. This is true love for God. Why is it so hard for some people to do some practical work but creating false sensations outside seems like such a breeze to them? They are so enthusiastic when it comes to matters outside but awkward, helpless and lifeless when it comes to doing practical work. What the issue is truly warrants deep contemplation. Those who do not love or even hate the truth have too much sickness and impurities. They employ only heretic and crooked means, which is really troublesome. People who are truly pragmatic and only do practical work never pay attention to creating sensation so that others can look up to them. They pay attention only to whether there are practical results and whether they satisfy God. They only want the practical results to get even better and work only to carry out God’s will. They do not care about sensations and formalities. Such people are those who do practical work. People who truly love God pay the most attention to practicality, and what they are most concerned with is definitely practicing the truth because there is no sensation and even less superficial formalities in doing so, only practical results. The more accurate the practice of the truth, the better the practical results. Those who are not able to truly love God in the end are people like Paul who walk on the path of the antichrist. Antichrists all pay attention to creating sensation and doing major work so that others may look up to and admire them. All that they do are for the purpose of receiving rewards and the crown. They are just not able to consider God’s will and do practical work for the sake of God’s chosen people’s entry into life. This is extremely selfish and despicable. We can see that though people with beautiful appearances catch the eyes, such beauty does not last as long as a beautiful spirit. Though a beautiful appearance grabs attention, it cannot withstand staying together over a long period of time. Once a person’s spirit is seen to not be beautiful or have too many defects, others would find it disgusting and repugnant. Though a person with a beautiful spirit does not grab attention, he could stand firm if he has humanity and would start to attract more people over time, and most people would like him in the end. The pursuit of loving God is the pursuit of a beautiful spirit, the pursuit of the truth to live out an image of loving God. Such a person would surely be commended by God and loved by most people. In the course of experiencing God’s work, those with spiritual gifts who only pay attention to exercising them would find that their abilities are falling increasingly short of their wishes and they are really unable to do any practical work. Those who pursue the truth, on the other hand, find even more avenues for themselves and become even more capable. They are able to do practical work and stand firm in the end. Whether man is able to fulfill his duties as God’s creation directly affects whether he has real testimony. The key to whether man fulfills his duties properly lies in whether he has true love for God. Whether man is able to love God determines everything. A person who truly loves God is one who truly pursues the truth, and a person who pursues the truth would surely have true love for God. It is clear that true love for God and the pursuit of the truth are closely related and inseparable. A person who truly loves God is one who really has the truth and humanity. He is one who is kind and has the most beautiful spirit. Those who have believed in God for many years but have not been able to love Him are evil people who are selfish and despicable. They are all like Paul, who was on the path of the antichrist. Such people would only be revealed and eliminated in the end.
True love for God is achieved through understanding the truth and knowing Him. When man knows that God’s disposition is righteousness, holiness, uprightness and kindness, he would naturally sense His loveliness. When man sees that what God has and is are all positive things and the truth, he would naturally sense that He is really too lovely. When man sees that God is just too lovely, he would naturally love Him in his heart. What, then, is true love? “‘Love,’ as it is called, refers to an emotion that is pure and without blemish, where you use your heart to love, to feel, and to be thoughtful. In love there are no conditions, no barriers, and no distance. In love there is no suspicion, no deceit, and no cunning. In love there is no distance and nothing impure. If you love, then you will not deceive, complain, betray, rebel, exact, or seek to gain something or to gain a certain amount. If you love, then you will gladly sacrifice and endure hardship, and you will become compatible with Me. You will give up your all for Me: your family, your future, your youth, and your marriage. Otherwise your love would not be love at all, but rather deceit and betrayal!” When man’s heart is able to truly love God, he would be able to consider His will and stand on His side in everything, obeying only the truth and God’s word as well as doing all he can to be faithful to Him. He would then be able to love what God loves and hate what He hates. He would be able to think what God thinks about and be worried about what worries God when fulfilling his duties. Satisfying God is the most important to him. He would then be able to fear God and shun evil and hate all the people, matters and things that come from Satan. The more a person loves God truly, the stronger his fear of God. He is afraid of saddening God in what he does, and so he is able to seek the truth in everything. He would never do anything evil that goes against God’s will and that resists Him. He focuses only on doing practical work to achieve practical results so as to satisfy God. A person who truly loves God would be able to understand His will and be able to act in accord with Him and offer himself to expend sincerely for Him. He would dedicate his life to carrying out God’s will and to completing what He has entrusted him. This is the greatest wish and pursuit of his life, and thus a person who truly loves God is able to forsake the flesh and complete what God has entrusted him no matter how much pain he has to suffer so as to perform his duties up to the standard. He would rather die than submit to Satan when he encounters trials and tribulations. He would remain faithful to God and obey Him to his last breath and bear a beautiful and resounding testimony at the end. True love for God is achieved gradually through pursuing the truth, and is perfected through undergoing God’s judgment and chastisement as well as trials and refinement. Man would be able to truly love God when he has a heart that wants to love and fear Him and when he is able to pursue the truth and submit to God’s work because God has decided to perfect a group of people who love Him in His work during the last days. Man would be perfected by the work of the Holy Spirit as long as he truly loves God and desires to become one who loves Him. This is for sure.
God’s chosen people have truly discovered that God is the loveliest only after having gone through cruel persecution by the great red dragon. Man would never be able to truly know God’s work had it not been for the great red dragon’s cruel persecution and oppression, and he would never be able to discover even more of God’s loveliness. The great red dragon as a foil and an object of service has indeed achieved its intended effect. “That people are able to discover God’s loveliness, to seek the way of loving God in this age, and that they are willing to accept the training of the kingdom of today—all of this is God’s grace and even more, it’s Him uplifting mankind. Whenever I think of this I strongly feel the loveliness of God. It is truly that God loves us. Otherwise, who would be able to discover His loveliness?” It is God who has led us on the road to His kingdom. God’s chosen people have all felt that the road to His kingdom is truly arduous and treacherous after having gone through the great red dragon’s persecution and oppression. It is a road fraught with difficulties and danger as well as spiritual battles. Man should be obligated to pursue the truth and fulfill his duties when faced with God’s true salvation. However, the great red dragon goes on a warpath to obstruct and restrict God’s chosen people in every way and captures and persecutes them in a frenzied manner. This makes us think back of how the Israelites were obstructed by the Pharaoh’s evil forces when they prepared to exit Egypt to go to the land of Canaan during the Age of Law. The Pharaoh was forced to relent in the end only after God has sent ten plagues on Egypt and he allowed the Israelites to follow and serve God. The Israelites were surrounded by the Pharaoh’s army when they were crossing the Red Sea. The Pharaoh’s army was decimated in the end when God intervened with His miracles. Now, God’s chosen people in China must also pass through the great red dragon’s frenzied persecution and oppression before they can be saved and perfected. Whoever is able to transcend the great red dragon’s deception, bondage, oppression and persecution and triumph over its influence and remain able to follow and obey God to fulfill his duties adequately in spite of the great red dragon’s frenzied persecution and opposition, he would be the one who is saved and perfected by God, and he is a qualified one of God’s people in the kingdom. Whoever crumbles in fear of the great red dragon’s deception, bondage, arrest and persecution and submits completely to it, he has failed and would be eliminated. This is the fact and truly so. Therefore, man would not be able to be on the road to salvation if he does not love the truth. If man is scared upon seeing the great red dragon’s persecution and oppression and retreats in fear and lives in cowardice, he would not receive God’s salvation. His final destiny is to be destroyed together with the great red dragon’s evil forces. This is because man would not be able to truly follow and obey God if he is deceived, bound and controlled by the great red dragon, and he would not be able to love and worship Him. This is the fact. If man remains able to worship the great red dragon and pursue status, reputation and future, he would surely follow it. He would then not be able to receive salvation and be the object of perdition and destruction. Man must therefore make a choice between the great red dragon and God. He would have to forsake the great red dragon if he were to follow and obey God. There is no middle path on which to tread. All the yes-men and those who take no sides and who watch from the sidelines are all on the side of Satan. They are people who have not truly turned to God, and they would definitely not be able to receive salvation. One has to first see through the great red dragon’s evilness and ugliness before he could hate and forsake it if he were to pursue the truth to receive salvation. It would be difficult for man to discover the positive things and the nature of the truth that is beauty and kindness and light without the contrast offered by this negative thing, the great red dragon. It would be even harder for man to discover God’s true love for him. It would be difficult for man to truly know God’s disposition of righteousness and His beautiful and kind essence. God therefore uses the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service completely for the purpose of perfecting His chosen ones so that they could know, love, obey and worship Him. God’s arrangement and His deployment of the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service is simply too meaningful. God’s chosen people must definitely fight against Satan’s forces if they were to pursue the truth and experience God’s work. They must pursue the truth to love God truly before they are able to stand firm in the battle against Satan’s forces. They must therefore seek and pursue the truth in the face of the great red dragon’s frenzied attack and cruel persecution. They must not be frightened by the great red dragon and forsake the truth, but should learn to know God’s will and His work in the spiritual battles. They would only be able to meet God’s requirements this way and enter the reality of truth to become people who truly love God and bear beautiful, resounding testimonies.
God’s chosen people must know what are the main effects that God wants to achieve when He uses the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service for the entry into life of His chosen ones in His work during the last days if they were to pursue the truth to become people who truly love God and be perfected by Him. God’s chosen people must be clear about this. I will now expound on the seven main effects in details, as follows:
1. The more the great red dragon captures and persecutes God’s chosen people cruelly and brazenly, carrying out searches and arrests, confiscation of properties, committing robberies and seizing their assets as well as torturing and persecuting them with all kinds of torture tools and hooligan methods, the more they could see that the great red dragon’s true face of Satan that is filled with evil and utterly inhumane, and the more they could see that the great red dragon is indeed the enemy and foe of God, that it is Satan the devil that corrupts and devours mankind. The status of the great red dragon in people’s hearts would take a plunge, and nobody would worship and follow it again because man has seen the true face of the great red dragon. They would hate it to the core and forsake it.
2. After having experienced the great red dragon’s manic arrests and cruel persecutions, God’s chosen people have seen that the great red dragon is Satan’s forces of evil. Everything that it does goes against heaven and is perverse. God’s chosen ones are finally able to discern what justice is and what evil is, what darkness is and what light is, what beauty and kindness is and what ugliness is, what a lie is and what the truth is, what humanity is and what the devil is, what dignity is and what slavery is, what happiness is and what pain is, as well as what positive things are and what negative things are. Without the great red dragon serving as a foil, God’s chosen ones would not be able to understand such truths, and they would not be able to truly turn to God and be saved.
3. It is due to the great red dragon’s manic attacks and cruel persecutions that God’s chosen people are able to feel even more that only God is lovely, that only God truly loves man and that only God is able to save man from Satan’s influence and bring true happiness to the life of mankind. The great red dragon’s forces of evil are the demon king that corrupts, entraps, binds and devours mankind. God’s chosen people would make a clear distinction between love and hate this way and be able to see that only God is love, salvation, righteousness and the light. They would then be able to love what God loves and hate what He hates. They would not be deceived by the great red dragon again and would be able to do their best to forsake it and escape Satan’s influence of darkness as quickly as they can. This way, God’s chosen ones would be able to truly turn to God and be saved.
4. The more the great red dragon attacks maniacally and persecutes God’s chosen people cruelly, the more it urges God’s chosen ones to reflect on their being deceived and corrupted by it for so many years. They would then come to know that they are full of the great red dragon’s poisons and have turned completely into demons that resist God and have no human likeness at all. Such reflection and awakening would cause God’s chosen ones to see the truth of their being corrupted by Satan and to know that their nature and substance filled with Satan’s disposition is completely the tragic result of being corrupted and afflicted by the great red dragon. This has all the more stirred the hatred of God’s chosen people for the great red dragon and their curses against it. It has also stirred their hearts to forsake it and follow and submit to God. They would not rest and die in peace if their belief in God does not result in their salvation and perfection by God.
5. The great red dragon’s cruel persecution causes God’s chosen people to see the darkness and evil of the world clearly for themselves as well as know that root of mankind’s corruption is the satanic forces of the great red dragon. All the calamities encountered by the Chinese people have been caused by the great red dragon’s manic resistance against God, its perverse acts against Heaven and its heinous sins. As God’s chosen ones hate and curse the great red dragon with a passion, this reinforces their faith in following and submitting to God. They are able to forsake the world and its trends, offer themselves to expend for God sincerely, dedicate themselves for the spreading of His kingdom gospel, spend the rest of their lives to strive hard in righteous causes to repay God’s love, and realize their goals of pursuing the truth and living a true life.
6. The great red dragon’s persecutions and oppression have put God’s chosen people through much pain and suffering, and they have come to know that they would be letting God down if they do not fulfill their duties well, and that it is only by fulfilling their duties well that they can repay God’s love and comfort His heart. The more man is tortured and afflicted by the great red dragon, the more they think about God’s love; the more they see how lovely God is, the more they would then want to fulfill their duties well to repay God’s love and satisfy Him. The great red dragon’s persecutions and oppression have led to God’s chosen people deepening their love for Him and have ignited their will to follow and serve Him. It has caused them to be able to pursue the truth as well as to pursue knowing God, loving Him and living out the image of them loving God. These are the effects that resulted from the great red dragon’s cruel persecutions and oppression.
7. The more the great red dragon persecutes God’s chosen people cruelly, the more they hate it. God’s chosen people would thus be able to do their best in pursuing the truth and to fulfill their duties as God’s creation and be perfected by Him in the midst of all kinds of trials and tribulations. It is such trials and tribulations that result from the great red dragon’s persecutions and oppression that created the conditions for the perfection of God’s chosen people by God. Though the great red dragon’s persecutions and cruel oppression have caused God’s chosen people to go through countless sufferings and tortures, they helped God’s chosen ones to understand the truth and achieve a change in their dispositions to become people who truly love God. These trials and tribulations brought about by the great red dragon’s persecutions and oppression have been used by God for His purpose of perfecting His chosen people. It is clear to see how God’s wisdom is exercised based on the schemes of Satan.
The effects in the seven aspects above are the result of the great red dragon being the foil and object of service. We have seen that many of God’s chosen people have achieved certainty of the true way, found their resolve and built up their courage through experiencing the great red dragon’s persecution and oppression. This is a fact. Man would not be driven in their belief in God without pressure. Because of the great red dragon’s manic arrests and cruel persecutions, God’s chosen people have given up their pursuit of comfortable and decadent lives. They have forsaken and left the trends of the world to join the ranks of people experiencing God’s work. The path of retreat to pursue the world has been sealed off, and they could only dedicate themselves to following God and pursuing the truth so as to be on the path that leads to God’s kingdom. Such an effect would have been difficult to achieve had it not been for the great red dragon’s persecutions and oppression. We have read the testimonies written by the chosen ones of God who have undergone the great red dragon’s arrests and persecutions. All the vivid accounts expressed their hatred for the great red dragon and their true love for God. All the people who love the truth are even more determined to follow God when faced with the tribulations of the great red dragon’s persecutions. Not only are they not frightened and defeated by the great red dragon’s influence, their will, faith and loyalty in following and submitting to God are instead being stirred up. They would not rest until they have obtained the truth and gained God. These are the effects achieved by God when He uses the great red dragon as a foil and an object of service. These various trials, refinements, persecutions and tribulations created by the great red dragon taught God’s chosen ones many lessons, and they begin to understand the truth and enter into reality. “The greater God’s refinement, the more people’s hearts are able to love God. The torment in their hearts is of benefit to their lives, they are more able to be at peace before God, their relationship with God is closer, and they are better able to see God’s supreme love and His supreme salvation. Peter experienced refinement hundreds of times, and Job underwent several trials. If you wish to be made perfect by God, you too must undergo refinement hundreds of times; only if you have to go through this process, and have to rely upon this step, are you able to satisfy God’s will, and be made perfect by God. Refinement is the best means by which God makes people perfect; only refinement and bitter trials can bring out the true love for God in people’s hearts. Without hardship, people lack the true love for God; if they are not tested within, and are not truly subjected to refinement, then their hearts will always be floating in the outside world. Having been refined to a certain point, you will see your own weaknesses and difficulties, you will see how much you are lacking and that you are unable to overcome the many problems you encounter, and you will see how great is your disobedience. Only during trials will people be able to truly know their real states, and trials make people better able to be made perfect.”
God’s chosen people are starting to pursue the truth as they are fulfilling their duties. They have gone through much suffering, especially that from the great red dragon’s persecutions, oppression and all kinds of tribulations. Though these sufferings are caused by the great red dragon’s manic resistance of God, they are too beneficial and meaningful for completing the change in the life disposition of God’s chosen ones. These sufferings will become the wealth of their lives. God’s chosen people will be perfected into God’s people once they have finished going through these sufferings. Just as God’s word says: “Perhaps you all remember these words: ‘For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.’ In the past, you have all heard this saying, yet none understood the true meaning of the words. Today, you know well the real significance they hold. These words are what God will accomplish in the last days. And they will be accomplished upon those cruelly afflicted by the great red dragon in the land where it lies. The great red dragon persecutes God and is the enemy of God, so in this land, those who believe in God are subjected to humiliation and persecution. That is why these words will become reality in you group of people. As the work is carried out in a land that opposes God, all of His work is met with inordinate hindrance, and many of His words cannot be accomplished in good time; hence, people are refined because of the words of God. This too is an element of suffering. It is greatly arduous for God to carry out His work in the land of the great red dragon, but it is through such difficulty that God does a stage of His work to make manifest His wisdom and wondrous deeds. God takes this opportunity to make this group of people complete. Because of people’s suffering, their caliber, and all the satanic disposition of people in this unclean land, God does His work of purification and conquest so that, from this, He may gain glory and gain those who stand witness to His deeds. This is the full significance of all the sacrifices that God has made for this group of people. That is to say, God does the work of conquest just through those who oppose Him. Therefore, only doing so can manifest the great power of God. In other words, only those in the unclean land are worthy to inherit the glory of God, and only this can give prominence to the great power of God. That is why I say the glory of God is gained in the unclean land and from those who live within. This is the will of God. This is just as in the stage of Jesus’ work; He could only be glorified among those Pharisees who persecuted Him. If not for such persecution and the betrayal of Judas, Jesus would not have been ridiculed or slandered, much less crucified, and thus could never have gained glory. Wherever God works in each age and wherever He does His work in the flesh, He gains glory there and there gains those He intends to gain. This is the plan of God’s work, and this is His management.” “Among you, there is not one man who receives the protection of the law; rather, you are penalized by the law, and the greater difficulty is that no man understands you, be it your relatives, your parents, your friends, or your colleagues. None understand you. When God rejects you, there is no way for you to continue living on earth. However, even so, people cannot bear to leave God; this is the significance of God’s conquest of people, and this is God’s glory. What you have inherited this day surpasses that of all former apostles and prophets and is greater even than that of Moses and Peter. Blessings cannot be received in a day or two; they must be earned through much sacrifice. That is, you must have refined love, great faith, and the many truths that God asks you to attain; in addition, you must be able to set your face toward justice and never be cowed or submit, and you must have a constant and unabating love for God. Resolution is demanded of you, as is change in your life disposition; your corruption must be remedied, and you must accept all the orchestration of God without complaint, and even be obedient until death. This is what you ought to achieve. This is the final aim of God, and the demands God asks of this group of people. As He bestows upon you, so too must He ask of you in return and make of you fitting demands. Therefore, all the work of God is not without reason, and from this can be seen why God time and again does the work of high standards and strict requirements. This is why you ought to be filled with faith in God. In short, all the work of God is done for your sake, so that you will be worthy to receive His inheritance. This is not so much for the sake of God’s own glory but for the sake of your salvation and for perfecting this group of people deeply afflicted in the unclean land. You must understand the will of God.” “You should see that the will and the work of God are not as simple as the creation of the heavens and earth and all things. For the work of today is to transform those who have been corrupted, who have grown extremely numb, and to purify those who were created then worked on by Satan, not to create Adam or Eve, much less to make the light or create all manner of plants and animals. His work now is to make pure all that has been corrupted by Satan so that they may be regained and become His possession and become His glory. Such work is not as simple as man imagines the creation of the heavens and earth and all things to be, and it is not akin to the work of cursing Satan to the bottomless pit as man imagines. Rather, it is to transform man, to turn that which is negative into the positive and to take into His possession that which does not belong to Him. This is the inside story of this stage of God’s work. You must realize it, and should not oversimplify matters. The work of God is unlike any ordinary work. Its marvel cannot be conceived by the mind of man, and its wisdom cannot be attained by such. God is not creating all things, and He is not destroying them. Rather, He is changing all of His creation and purifying all things that have been defiled by Satan. Therefore, God shall commence work of great magnitude, and this is the total significance of the work of God. From these words, do you believe that the work of God is so simple?” “All of God’s work in the entire universe has focused on this group of people. He has devoted all His efforts to you and sacrificed all for you; He has reclaimed and given to you all the work of the Spirit throughout the universe. That is why I say, you are the fortunate. Moreover, He has shifted His glory from Israel, His chosen people, to you, in order to make the purpose of His plan fully manifest through you group of people. Therefore, you are those who will receive the inheritance of God, and even more the heirs of God’s glory.”
God’s chosen people now know that they must fulfill their duties as God’s creation in experiencing His work in order to be able to gain more of the work of the Holy Spirit. It is very important to meet the criteria for fulfilling one’s duties in pursuing the truth because whether man fulfills his duties adequately involves the issue of whether he has the reality of the truth as well as whether he is able to practice the truth and obey God. This directly affects whether a person is able to become an honest person. A person who does not pursue the truth would not fulfill his duties adequately. Because man has a corrupted disposition, it would not be possible for him to submit truly to God, and neither would it be possible for him to be absolutely faithful. Therefore, man can only know the substance of his own nature as well as the truth of his corruption by pursuing the truth and going through various trials and refinement. Only then can he truly understand the truth and forsake his flesh completely; achieve the criteria for fulfilling his duties in accordance with God’s word and by obeying Him without being restricted by any man, matters or things; and to live out the likeness of a true man. It is impossible for man to truly obey God if he does not have a heart that loves Him, and neither would he have the resolve to practice the truth. Man would not be able to fulfill his duty in a qualified manner this way. Whether man has a heart that loves God is simply too critical. “And so, seeking to actively perform one’s duty as a creature of God is the path to success; seeking the path of a true love of God is the most correct path; seeking changes in one’s old disposition, and a pure love of God, is the path to success.”
People who truly love God are able to care for God’s will in all things. All that they are concerned about is how to satisfy God and how to complete all that He has entrusted them. Those who love God would focus on fulfilling their duties well and completing all that He has entrusted them. This is the basic practice of loving God. One does not have a heart that truly loves God if he does not fulfill his duties in a qualified manner. Even if he claims to love God, it is all empty talk. To truly love God is to satisfy Him, and satisfying God can only be achieved in the fulfillment of one’s duties because God has no other requirements and the fulfillment of one’s duties in a qualified manner is precisely God’s will and requirement. Therefore, people who truly love God would put in the effort to pursue the truth and solve the problems of going through the motions as well as those of fraud and deceit in the fulfillment of their duties in order to fulfill their duties faithfully and satisfy God and gain the approval of God’s chosen ones. This is the criterion of fulfilling one’s duties in a qualified manner. A person is one who truly obeys God when he is able to fulfill his duties in a qualified manner. Only then is he one who truly loves God and has lived out the likeness of a true man. “You must experience such that God is your life, such that if God were taken away from you it would be like losing your life; God must be your life, and you must be incapable of leaving Him. In this way, you will have actually experienced God, and at this time, when you love God again, you will truly love God, and it will be a singular, pure love. One day when your experiences are such that your life has reached a certain point, you will pray to God, eat and drink the words of God, and will be unable to leave God inside, and even if you wanted to, you would not be able to forget Him. God will have become your life; you can forget the world, you can forget your wife and children, but you’ll have trouble forgetting God—that is impossible, this is your true life, and your true love for God. When people’s love of God has reached a certain point, nothing they love is equal to their love of God, He is their number one love, and in this way they are able to give up everything else, and are willing to accept all dealing and pruning from God. When you have achieved a love of God that surpasses all else, you will live in reality, and in God’s love.”
God’s chosen people have now sensed that the pursuit of the truth is fundamental in the belief of God. True love for God is the reality of that belief and even more the practice and entry of obedience to Him. If man does not pursue the truth, his belief in God would be empty. Man does not have humanity if he is not able to love God. Only a person who pursues the truth is able to love and obey God in his belief in God. The objective of the pursuit of the truth is therefore to know God, and the effect of this is to be able to truly love Him. The purpose of the pursuit of the truth is thus to be able to truly obey, witness, serve and worship God. It is clear then that the pursuit of the truth is simply too meaningful. A person who truly loves God would surely be equipped with three criteria:
First, he fears and reveres God and shuns evil. He will not be deceived or influenced by Satan’s evil forces and all kinds of fallacies. He is only obedient and faithful to God.
Second, he is able to fulfill his duties in a qualified manner, which is to exalt and witness God and to serve His will in order to complete all that God has entrusted.
Third, he is able to be an honest person and have normal interpersonal relationships. He is able to live in love and in the light as well as live out the likeness of a true man.
A person who truly loves God is one who is saved and perfected by God. He is one who receives the full saving grace of God and is able to inherit God’s promises and blessings. “If, on the road to loving God, you are able to stand on the side of God when He does battle with Satan, and you do not turn back to Satan, then you will have achieved the love of God, and you will have stood firm in your testimony.” “All those who truly love God will ultimately remain in the kingdom, and God will not mistreat anyone who truly loves Him. ”
God’s chosen people have now sensed in the fulfillment of their duties that they would not be able to fulfill their duties in a qualified manner if their understanding of the truth is too shallow. They have thus come to know the importance of pursuing the truth. Man gradually develops obedience and faithfulness to God because of his resolve to pursue the truth. He is able to obey and accept any dealing and pruning that he faces, and he could see what he himself lacks while helping others. He is also helping himself this way. He is able to treat brothers and sisters with love when pursuing the truth and practicing love for God. He is able to support and help those who have but a ray of hope of receiving salvation with love without restricting and oppressing them at all. He is able to get along harmoniously with brothers and sisters, and live in love and in the light as well as be of one heart and mind with them. This way, Christ’s kingdom shall truly appear. This is the result achieved by God’s chosen people’s experiencing of God’s work and pursuit of the truth, of which the great red dragon’s role as a foil and a serving object is a contributor. That is why God’s chosen would definitely not be able to achieve such a result so quickly if it hadn’t been for the various trials, refinements and tribulations brought about by the great red dragon’s manic attacks and cruel persecutions. Even though the quality of whatever is produced by the great red dragon is mediocre, the trials, refinements and tribulations that it creates are indeed evil, dark and heinous enough. They are developed from the great red dragon’s devilish nature, and are completely suitable to be used to try and refine God’s chosen ones, who are subsequently perfected through the enlightenment and illumination and the work of the Holy Spirit. This is therefore an extremely good opportunity for God’s chosen people to experience God’s work to achieve perfection by God. “God does the work of judgment and chastisement so that man may know Him, and for the sake of His testimony. Without His judgment of man’s corrupt disposition, man would not know His righteous disposition that allows no offense, and could not turn his old knowledge of God into a new one. For the sake of His testimony, and for the sake of His management, He makes His entirety public, thus enabling man to achieve the knowledge of God, and change his disposition, and bear resounding testimony to God through God’s public appearance. Change is achieved in the disposition of man through different kinds of God’s work; without such changes in man’s disposition, man would be unable to bear testimony to God, and could not be after God’s heart. Changes in man’s disposition signify that man has freed himself from Satan’s bondage, has freed himself from the influence of darkness, and has truly become a model and specimen of God’s work, has truly become a witness of God and someone who is after God’s heart. Today, God incarnate has come to do His work on earth, and He requires that man achieve knowledge of Him, obedience to Him, testimony to Him—know His practical and normal work, obey all of His words and work which do not accord with the conceptions of man, and bear testimony to all His work of saving man, and all the deeds He does that conquer man. Those who bear testimony to God must have a knowledge of God; only this kind of testimony is accurate, and real, and only this kind of testimony can shame Satan. God uses those who have come to know Him through undergoing His judgment and chastisement, dealing and pruning, to bear testimony to Him. He uses those who have been corrupted by Satan to bear testimony to Him, and so too does He use those whose disposition has changed, and who have thus gained His blessings, to bear testimony to Him. He does not need man to praise Him in word only, nor does He need the praise and testimony of the ilk of Satan, who have not been saved by Him. Only those who know God are qualified to bear testimony to God, and only those whose disposition has changed are qualified to bear testimony to God, and God will not allow man to intentionally bring shame upon His name.”
In order to achieve perfection by God, man must pursue the truth in the fulfillment of his duties. He must make particular effort in doing so especially during trials and tribulations. He would have the way to follow by understanding God’s will. Man would be able to gain the work of the Holy Spirit if he has a heart that loves God. He would then be able to be enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit in all things, be able to discover more of how lovely God is and see the thought He has put into loving man. All of these originate from the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment and illumination. Man’s capacity to love God is due even more to God’s grace and great love. Otherwise, man is not worthy to love God. It is true blessing for man to be able to truly love God. It is indeed exaltation by God. Man is already on the path of being perfected when he has a heart that loves God. No one is able to frighten and defeat a person who loves God. A person who loves God is upright and straightforward. Only a person who loves God is one who truly exalts, witnesses and serves Him. If man is able to truly love God in his heart, he would never abide by the regulations. He would do things with loving and satisfying God as his principles. This conforms completely to God’s will. A person who loves God has no difficulties. Peter escaped completely from Satan’s influence when he loved God to the extreme and remained obedient unto death. He therefore regarded it his honor no matter what sufferings he went through, even being nailed inverted on the cross for God. He had completely transcended the confinements of death and was gained by God. If someone were to ask, “What does change in disposition refer to?” you can reply that man comes to understand and gain the truth by eating and drinking God’s word. The change in the substance of man’s life brings about a change in the disposition of life. There are two main aspects in the criteria for the change in the disposition of life. One is true love for God, and the other is absolute obedience to God. The highest criterion for loving God is to love Him to the extreme, and the highest criterion for obeying God is being obedient unto death. This is the result God achieved when He perfected Peter. A person’s disposition is changed when these two criteria are met. “If people believe in God, and experience God’s words, with a heart that reveres God, then in such people there can be seen God’s salvation, and God’s love. These people are able to testify to God, they live out the truth, and what they testify to is also the truth, what God is, and God’s disposition, and they live amid God’s love and have seen God’s love. If people wish to love God, they must taste God’s loveliness, and see God’s loveliness; only then can there be roused in them a heart that loves God, a heart that is willing to loyally expend for God. God does not make people love Him through words and expressions, or their imagination, and He does not force people to love Him. Instead, He makes them love Him of their own volition, and He makes them see His loveliness in His work and utterances, after which there is borne in them the love of God. Only in this way can people truly bear testimony to God. People do not love God because they have been urged to do so by others, nor is it a momentary emotional impulse. They love God because they have seen His loveliness, they have seen that there is so much of Him that is worthy of people’s love, because they have seen God’s salvation, wisdom, and wondrous deeds—and as a result, they truly praise God, and truly yearn for Him, and there is roused in them such a passion that they could not survive without gaining God. The reason why those who truly testify to God are able to give a resounding testimony to Him is because their testimony is upon the foundation of the true knowledge and true yearning for God. It is not according to an emotional impulse, but according to the knowledge of God and His disposition. Because they have come to know God, they feel that they must surely testify to God, and make all those who yearn for God know God, and be aware of God’s loveliness, and His realness. Like people’s love for God, their testimony is spontaneous, it is real, and has real significance and worth. It is not passive, or hollow and meaningless.” Everything that a person who truly loves God does are surely resounding testimonies that glorify God. Everything that a person who loves God says and does is meaningful. A person who loves God is particularly practical when communicating the truth and witnessing God. He is energetic and full of life, and everybody is willing to listen to him. Every word he says supports and helps people, is beneficial to others and builds others up. Therefore, a person who loves God is one who truly witnesses and serves God. All that he says and does are in fulfillment of his duties even if he is not of high status as a leader or a worker. He is also serving and providing for others. A person who loves God is well-liked wherever he goes, and so only a person who loves God is a true brother or sister. When others see a person who loves God, it is like they are seeing a loved one, as if they are seeing a messenger of God. Therefore, pursuing the truth to become a person who loves God is the true object of God’s chosen ones. It doesn’t matter whether one is of high or low caliber, God is completely satisfied as long as he has a heart that truly loves God. Only a person who truly loves God possesses true and full humanity and is equipped with all the realities of the truth required by God. He is one who has truly lived out the image of the truth, a sanctified and righteous person perfected by God. Only a person who loves God is one loved and truly blessed by God. He is the one who receives the promise of God. A person who truly loves God in his heart would not come under the control of people, matters and things. He is absolutely faithful and obedient to God, and nobody can stop or restrict him. A person who loves God is best able to care about God’s will and knows best how to fulfill his duties and satisfy God. A person who loves God pays the most attention to doing practical work to achieve practical results; he is one who truly fears and reveres God and shuns evil, who truly is an honest person, who truly obeys God, and who is a true witness of God. True change to a person’s disposition happens when the heart of man can truly love God, and it is only then that he is able to live out the likeness of a true man. This is absolutely true.
“During his lifetime, Peter experienced refinement hundreds of times and underwent many painful ordeals. This refinement became the foundation of his supreme love of God, and became the most significant experience of his entire life. That he was able to possess a supreme love of God was, in one sense, because of his resolve to love God; more importantly, however, it was because of the refinement and suffering that he underwent. This suffering became his guide on the path of loving God, and became the thing that was most memorable to him. If people do not undergo the pain of refinement when loving God, then their love is full of naturalness and their preferences; love such as this is full of the ideas of Satan, and simply incapable of satisfying God’s will. Having the resolve to love God is not the same as truly loving God. Even though all that they think of in their hearts is for the sake of loving God, and satisfying God, as if their thoughts are without any human ideas, as if they are all for the sake of God, when their thoughts are brought before God, such thoughts are not commended or blessed by God. Even when people have fully understood all truths—when they have come to know them all—this cannot be said to be a sign of loving God, it cannot be said that these people actually love God. Despite having understood many truths without undergoing refinement, people are incapable of putting these truths into practice; only during refinement can people understand the real meaning of these truths, only then can people genuinely appreciate their inner meaning. At that time, when they try again, they are able to put the truths into practice properly, and in accordance with God’s will; at that time, their human ideas are lessened, their human naturalness is reduced, and their human emotions are diminished; only at that time is their practice a true manifestation of the love of God. The effect of the truth of the love of God is not achieved through spoken knowledge or mental willingness, nor can it be achieved simply by being understood. It requires that people pay a price, and that they undergo much bitterness during refinement, and only then will their love become pure, and after God’s own heart. In His requirement that man love Him, God does not demand that man love Him using passion, or naturalness; only through loyalty and the use of the truth to serve Him can man truly love Him.”
God’s perfection of man is done mainly through the judgment and chastisement of His word and His use of the great red dragon as the foil and serving object. Now is the time when the great red dragon is resisting God maniacally, and so, this is the opportunity of a lifetime for God to perfect man. It is an opportunity not to be missed, for it may never come by again. God’s chosen people must pursue the truth and pay attention to being equipped with the truth and fulfill their duties well. They must learn to discover more of God’s loveliness and be able to develop a heart that truly loves God. These are the most important. They must also learn to go with the course of nature when experiencing the work of God as well as do things in obedience to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. They must never look for trouble and take their own risks to create the environments for such experiences. Trials that come from God will catch you off guard, and you can never run away from them. Simply submit yourselves to God’s orchestrations and arrangements. If you desire to be perfected by God, simply focus on pursuing the truth, pay attention to practicing the truth and fulfilling your duties, work in strict accordance with the work arrangements, learn to care for God’s will, have the resolve to go through sufferings and obey and satisfy God in all things, and you will naturally have the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let God make the arrangements as to when you would be faced with trials and tribulations. All man has to do is try his best as well as obey God’s instructions. In a nutshell, if you are a person who truly pursues the truth, God will sure want to perfect you, and there is no way you can run from it. This is true. If you understood the meaning of God’s perfection of man, you will dedicate your life to pursuing the truth and hold nothing back to love and satisfy God. You will focus on and commit yourself to truly loving God, and you will surely spare no effort and fear no obstacles in doing so. This is because you know full well in your heart that only a person who truly loves God is one whom God loves and blesses. “All those gained by God are those who pursue the truth. What God gains is not man’s flesh nor his possessions, but the part within him that belongs to God. That is why I say that God perfects not the flesh of man but his heart, so that the heart of man may be gained by God. In other words, the essence of saying that God perfects man is that God perfects the heart of man so that it may turn to God and love Him.
The flesh of man is mortal. It serves no purpose for God to gain the flesh of man, for it is that which inevitably decays. It cannot receive the inheritance of God or His blessings. If God only gains the flesh of man and keeps man’s flesh in this stream, man would be in this stream in name, but man’s heart would belong to Satan. Then not only would man be unable to become the expression of God, he would instead become His burden. Thus God’s choosing men would become meaningless. Those who will be perfected by God are those who will receive God’s blessings and His inheritance. That is, they take in what God has and is, so that it becomes what they have within; they have all the words of God wrought into them; whatever the being of God, you are able to take it all in exactly as is, thereby living out the truth. This is the kind of man perfected by God and gained by God. Only such kind of man is eligible to inherit these blessings bestowed by God:
1. Receiving the whole of God’s love.
2. Acting in accordance with the will of God in all things.
3. Receiving the guidance of God, living under the light of God, and being enlightened by God.
4. Living out the image loved by God on earth; loving God truly as Peter did, crucified for God and worthy to die in recompense for God’s love; having the same glory as Peter.
5. Being beloved, respected, and admired by all on earth.
6. Overcoming all the bondage of death and Hades, giving no opportunity for Satan’s work, being possessed by God, living within a fresh and lively spirit, and having no feeling of weariness.
7. Having an unspeakable sense of elation and excitement at all times throughout life, as if he has seen the coming of the day of God’s glory.
8. Receiving glory with God, and having a countenance similar to God’s beloved saints.
9. Becoming that which God loves on earth, that is, the beloved son of God.
10. Changing form and ascending with God to the third heaven, transcending the flesh.
Only those able to inherit the blessings of God are those perfected by God and gained by God. Have you gained anything? To what extent has God perfected you? God does not perfect man at random. There are conditions and apparent results that can be seen by man. It is not as man believes, that as long as he has faith in God, he can be perfected and gained by God, and can receive on earth the blessings and inheritance of God. Such matters are exceedingly difficult, and much more so when it comes to the changing of form. At present, that which you should primarily seek is to be perfected by God in all things, and to be perfected by God through all people, matters, and things that you are faced with, so that more of what God is will be incorporated into you. You must first receive the inheritance of God on earth before you are eligible to inherit more and greater blessings from God. All such things are that which you should seek and which you should first understand.”
This sermon must be communicated together with the following passages of God’s word (21 passages in total).
Bearing a resounding witness for God is mainly related to whether you have an understanding of the practical God or not, and whether or not you are able to obey in front of this person who is not only ordinary, but normal, and even obey until the death. If you truly bear a witness for God through this obedience, that means you have been obtained by God. Being able to obey to the death, and being free of complaints in front of Him, not making judgments, not slandering, not having notions, and not having any other intentions—this way God will gain glory. Obedience in front of a regular person who is looked down upon by man and being able to obey to the death without any notions—this is true testimony.
from “People Who Can Be Absolutely Obedient Toward God’s Practicality Are Those Who Truly Love God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
When you don’t have any notions of the practicality of God incarnate, that is, when you stand firm in this trial, then you bear a good witness. If there is a day when you have full understanding of the practical God and you can obey until the death like Peter, you will be gained by God, and be perfected by Him.
from “People Who Can Be Absolutely Obedient Toward God’s Practicality Are Those Who Truly Love God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
To bear testimony to God and shame the great red dragon you must have a principle, and a condition: In your heart you must love God, and enter into the words of God. If you do not enter into the words of God, then you will have no way of shaming Satan. Through the growth of your life, you renounce the great red dragon and bring utter humiliation upon it, and only then is the great red dragon truly shamed.
from “Only Those Who Know the Work of God Today Can Serve God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
The more that man is capable of truly cooperating with God, the more that he glorifies God. Man’s cooperation is the testimony that he is required to bear, and the testimony that he bears is the practice of man. And so, whether or not God’s work can have the due effect, and whether or not there can be true testimony, are inextricably linked to the cooperation and testimony of man.
from “God’s Work and Man’s Practice” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
People who have the truth are those who, in their real experiences, can stand firm in their testimony, stand firm in their position, stand on the side of God, without ever retreating, and who can have a normal relationship with people who love God, who, when things happen to them, are able to completely obey God, and can obey God unto death.
from “Those Who Love God Will Forever Live Within His Light” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Those who God refers to as overcomers are those who are still able to stand witness, maintain their confidence, and their devotion to God when under the influence of Satan and under siege by Satan, that is, when within the forces of darkness. If you are still able to maintain a heart of purity and your genuine love for God no matter what, you stand witness in front of God, and this is what God refers to as being an overcomer.
from “You Ought to Maintain Your Devotion to God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If you are like Job, who in the midst of trials cursed his own flesh and did not complain against God, and was able to detest his own flesh without complaining or sinning through his words, that is standing witness. When you undergo refinements to a certain degree and can still be like Job, utterly obedient in front of God and without other requirements of Him or your own notions, then God will appear to you.
from “Those Who Are to Be Made Perfect Must Undergo Refinement” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Thus, during these last days you must bear testimony to God. No matter how great your suffering, you should go on to the very end, and even at your last breath, still you must be faithful to God, and at the mercy of God; only this is truly loving God, and only this is the strong and resounding testimony.
from “Only by Experiencing Painful Trials Can You Know the Loveliness of God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Now, people have all seen that someone who serves God should not only know how to suffer for His sake, but even more, they should understand that believing in God is for the sake of seeking to love Him. God’s use of you isn’t just to refine you or have you suffer, but it is to have you know His actions, know the true significance of human life, and particularly to have you know that serving God is not an easy task. Experiencing God is not about enjoying grace, but more about suffering because of your love for Him. Since you enjoy God’s grace, you must also enjoy His chastisement—you must experience all of these things.
from “Those Who Are to Be Made Perfect Must Undergo Refinement” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Those who serve God should be God’s intimates, they should be beloved by God, and capable of the utmost loyalty to God. Regardless of whether you act behind people, or in front of them, you are able to gain the joy of God before God, you are able to stand firm before God, and regardless of how other people treat you, you always walk your own path, and give every care to God’s burden. Only this is an intimate of God. That God’s intimates are able to serve Him directly is because they have been given God’s great commission, and God’s burden, they are able to take God’s heart as their own, and God’s burden as their own, and they give no consideration to whether they gain or lose prospect: Even when they have no prospects, and they will gain nothing, they will always believe in God with a loving heart. And so, this kind of person is God’s intimate. God’s intimates are also His confidants; only God’s confidants could share His restlessness, and His wants, and although their flesh is painful and weak, they are able to endure pain and forsake that which they love to satisfy God. God gives more burdens to such people, and that which God shall do is expressed through these people. Thus, these people are beloved by God, they are servants of God who are after His own heart, and only people such as this can rule together with God.
from “How to Serve in Harmony With God’s Will” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
In this stage of work great faith and great love are required of us. We may stumble from the slightest carelessness because this stage of work is different from all the previous ones. What God is perfecting is mankind’s faith—one cannot see or touch it. What God does is convert words to faith, to love, and to life. People must reach a point where they have endured hundreds of refinements and possess faith greater than Job’s. They need to endure incredible suffering and all kinds of torture without departing from God at any time. When they are obedient until the death, and have great faith in God, then this stage of God’s work is complete.
from “The Path … (8)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Today, as you seek to love and know God, in one respect you must endure hardship and refinement, and in another, you must pay a price. No lesson is more profound than the lesson of loving God, and it can be said that the lesson that people learn from a lifetime of belief is how to love God. Which is to say, if you believe in God you must love God. If you only believe in God but do not love Him, have not attained the knowledge of God, and have never loved God with a true love that comes from within your heart, then your belief in God is futile; if, in your belief in God, you do not love God, then you live in vain, and your entire life is the most lowly of all lives.
from “Only Loving God Is Truly Believing in God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
You ought to know that perfecting men, completing men, and gaining men have brought nothing but swords and smiting for their flesh, and brought endless suffering, the burning of fire, merciless judgment, chastisement, and curse, as well as boundless trials. Such is the inside story and truth of the work of managing man. … Therefore, perhaps ninety percent of what people experience is sufferings and trials of fire, but there are very few or even no sweet and happy days which man’s flesh has yearned for, and they are even more unable to enjoy happy moments in the flesh spending beautiful evenings with God. The flesh is filthy, so what man’s flesh sees or enjoys is nothing but God’s chastisement which is not favored by man, and is as if it were lacking normal reason. This is because He will manifest His righteous disposition which is not favored by man, does not tolerate man’s offenses, and loathes enemies. God openly reveals all of His disposition through any means necessary, thereby concluding the work of His six-thousand-year battle with Satan—the work of the salvation of all of mankind and the destruction of the old Satan!
from “The Purpose of Managing Mankind” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If you want to be used and perfected by God, you must be possessed of everything: the will to suffer, faith, endurance, obedience, as well as the ability to experience the work of God, gain a grasp on His will, and be considerate of His sorrow. Perfecting a person is not easy, and every single refinement that you experience requires your faith and love.
from “Those Who Are to Be Made Perfect Must Undergo Refinement” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If people wish to be made perfect by God, and if they wish to carry out His will, and fully give their true love to God, then they must experience much suffering and many torments from the circumstances, to suffer pain worse than death, ultimately they will be forced to give their true heart back to God. Whether or not someone truly loves God is revealed during hardship and refinement. God purifies people’s love, and this is also only achieved amid hardship and refinement.
from “Only Loving God Is Truly Believing in God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If man wishes to love God, he must be stripped of his self-rightness, self-importance, arrogance, conceit, and the like, all of which belong to Satan’s disposition. Otherwise, the love of man is an impure love, a love of Satan, and one which absolutely cannot receive the approval of God. Without being directly perfected, dealt with, broken, pruned, disciplined, chastened, or refined by the Holy Spirit, no one is able truly to love God.
from “Corrupt Man Is Incapable of Representing God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
The greater God’s refinement, the more people’s hearts are able to love God. The torment in their hearts is of benefit to their lives, they are more able to be at peace before God, their relationship with God is closer, and they are better able to see God’s supreme love and His supreme salvation. Peter experienced refinement hundreds of times, and Job underwent several trials. If you wish to be made perfect by God, you too must undergo refinement hundreds of times; only if you have to go through this process, and have to rely upon this step, are you able to satisfy God’s will, and be made perfect by God.
from “Only by Experiencing Refinement Can Man Truly Love God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Those who are beset by tribulation are without the work of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of God, but those who have been truly conquered and truly seek after God will ultimately stand fast; they are the ones who are possessed of humanity, and who truly love God. No matter what God does, these victorious ones will not be bereft of the visions, and will still put the truth into practice without failing in their testimony. They are the ones who will finally emerge from the great tribulation.
from “God’s Work and Man’s Practice” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
In believing in God, man should pursue being made perfect by God, being able to submit to God, and the complete obedience to God. If you can obey God without complaint, be mindful of God’s desires, achieve the stature of Peter, and possess the style of Peter spoken of by God, then that will be when you have achieved success in belief in God, and it will signify that you have been gained by God.
from “All Is Achieved by the Word of God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
Change is achieved in the disposition of man through different kinds of God’s work; without such changes in man’s disposition, man would be unable to bear testimony to God, and could not be after God’s heart. Changes in man’s disposition signify that man has freed himself from Satan’s bondage, has freed himself from the influence of darkness, and has truly become a model and specimen of God’s work, has truly become a witness of God and someone who is after God’s heart.
from “Only Those Who Know God Can Bear Testimony to God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If what you seek is the truth, what you put into practice is the truth, and what you attain is a change in your disposition, then the path that you tread is the right one. If what you seek is the blessings of the flesh, and what you put into practice is the truth of your own conceptions, and if there is no change in your disposition, and you are not at all obedient to God in the flesh, and you still live in vagueness, then what you seek will surely take you to hell, for the path that you walk is the path of failure. Whether you will be made perfect or eliminated depends on your own pursuit, which is also to say that success or failure depends on the path that man walks.
