2. Only Those Who Gain the Truth and Enter Into Reality Are Truly Saved
Just what is it to be saved or to attain salvation? This is the great mystery of faith in God. In the past, all people who believed in God held on to human conceptions and imaginings about this. They believed that as long as people sincerely believe in God, do not leave God, or betray God, when catastrophes befall them they will be able to receive God’s protection as a matter of course, and thereby survive the disasters, which means they have attained salvation. Particularly during the Age of Grace, people who believed in the Lord Jesus thought, “As long as you believe in the Lord Jesus your sins will be forgiven, and once saved always saved.” There were all too many people who had these conceptions and imaginings. Is being saved and attaining salvation really so simple? In fact, genuine salvation refers to freeing oneself from the dark influence of Satan, genuinely turning to God, being able to submit to God and being in accord with God. It refers to people gaining the truth as their life so that we achieve a breaking free of the bonds and harassment of corrupt flesh, and so that in the truth we are able to be free and released. Even more, it refers to people being able to love God sincerely, achieve accord with God, and be gained by God. Only those believers in God who achieve these results are people who are truly saved. To put it more precisely, believers in God must gain the truth and enter reality before they are saved. This is certain beyond doubt.
We experience the work of God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days, in one regard, by accepting the judgment and chastisement of God’s words, in another, undergoing much pruning and being dealt with, as well as the suffering of trials and refinements, and we finally understand many truths. We not only understand the true meaning of God’s work in the last days is to save people and perfect people, but also have a true understanding of God’s righteous disposition and His omnipotence and wisdom in dominating all, and develop a heart that genuinely loves God. Because of this we are fully able to expend ourselves sincerely for God, evangelize and bear witness to God with all-out strength, and finally, in our hearts, taste the sweetness of the transformation of our life disposition that comes after we understand the truth and know God. We finally know what genuine salvation is, and are no longer dominated by confusion about just what attaining salvation is and whether or not we ourselves can be saved. We genuinely see that it is only by attaining understanding of truth and gaining truth in accepting and submitting to the work of God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days that we can genuinely break out of the bonds of Satan’s dark influence and our corrupt fleshly nature. Then we can truly turn to God and genuinely love God, obey God, and worship God. This is the only way for corrupt humanity to be saved. There is no other way but this. The incarnation of God in the last days to carry out the work of judgment and chastisement is in order to save humanity: “The final stage of conquering is meant to save people and also to reveal people’s endings. It is to disclose people’s degeneration through judgment and thereby get them to repent, rise up, and pursue life and the right path of human life. It is to wake up the hearts of the numb and obtuse people and to show, through judgment, their inner rebelliousness. However, if people are still unable to repent, still unable to pursue the right path of human life and unable to cast off these corruptions, then they will become unrescuable objects for Satan to swallow up. This is the significance of conquering—to save people and also to show their endings. Good endings, bad endings—they are all revealed by the conquering work. Whether people will be saved or cursed is all revealed during the conquering work.”
Believing in God is essential in order to be saved and live a true life, but people must understand that attaining salvation through belief in God is absolutely not as simple as people imagine, because after they have been corrupted by Satan they become corrupt humans who are of Satan and oppose God. Corrupt humanity is always resisting God, attacking God, and blaspheming God because Satan’s poison, satanic philosophy, and the satanic way of life completely control people’s hearts. These things make up people’s lives, make up people’s nature, and cause people to end up as one of Satan’s kind. That’s why people are able to resist God and rebel against God. In concrete terms, by living according to Satan’s philosophy, Satan’s laws, Satan’s logic, and Satan’s knowledge and reasoning, corrupt humanity is only able to deny God, rebel against God, and even turn into demons that hate the truth and resist God, and have no trace of humanity left in them. This is a fact, just as Almighty God has said: “All of you live in a place of sin and licentiousness; you are all licentious and sinful people. Today you not only can see God, but more importantly, you have received chastisement and judgment, received such deepest salvation, that is, received God’s greatest love. All that He does is true love for you; He has no ill intention. It is because of your sins that He judges you, so that you will examine yourselves and receive this tremendous salvation. All this is done to work man. From beginning to end, God has been doing His utmost to save man, and He is certainly not willing to completely destroy the men He created with His own hands. Now He has come among you to work; isn’t this even more salvation? If He hated you, would He still do work of such magnitude to personally lead you? Why should He suffer so? God does not hate you or have any ill intention toward you. You should know that God’s love is the truest love. It is only because of people’s disobedience that He has to save them through judgment; otherwise, they would not be saved. As you do not know how to lead a life or how to live, and you live in this licentious and sinful place and are licentious and filthy devils, He does not have the heart to let you become even more depraved; neither has He the heart to see you living in the filthy place like this, being trampled by Satan at will, or the heart to let you fall into Hades. He only wants to gain this group of you and thoroughly save you. This is the main purpose of doing the conquering work on you—it is just for salvation.” “When God becomes flesh this time, His work is to express His disposition, primarily through chastisement and judgment. Using this as the foundation, He brings more truth to man, shows more ways of practice, and so achieves His objective of conquering man and saving man from his corrupt disposition. This is what lies behind the work of God in the Age of Kingdom.” If corrupt humanity does not accept God’s salvation work of judgment and chastisement in the last days, it is impossible for them to receive purification and attain salvation, and impossible for them to gain the truth and live in the manner of true people because God’s disposition does not tolerate offense. When people possess the satanic nature to resist God they are capable of hating the truth, and denying God, rebelling against God, judging God, and resisting God, and the result of opposing God in these ways is self-destruction. Humans of the ancient and prehistoric ages were destroyed for resisting God, and now that God comes in these last days judging and chastising corrupt humanity in order to save them, this is also the last chance for humanity to be saved. If believers in God cannot accept the salvation and perfection of God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days, God will target them for destruction. God’s work in the last days is to resolve the crucial problem of mankind being controlled and guided by a sinful nature that is impossible for them to throw off. It’s to lead humankind out from under the dark influence of Satan in order to turn to God and submit to His work so that they can become people that obey God, worship God, and are in line with God’s intentions. To achieve such results, people must accept the judgment and chastisement of God in the last days, and from God’s work obtain the truth of God’s words as their life. This is crucial for throwing off the restrictions and bonds that their corrupt satanic nature has over their flesh. Only if people are possessed of a life of truth can they defeat Satan, overcome the flesh, and live according to God’s words, can they genuinely obey God, genuinely love God, genuinely worship God, and thus be able to overcome the satanic nature within them that is made up of Satan’s poison and Satan’s philosophy, completely throwing off the bonds and restrictions of the corrupt flesh, gaining release and freedom in the truth, and living a true life. This is what is crucial for belief in God to attain salvation by God.
All people who understand the truth by undergoing the judgment and chastisement of God in the last days possess a genuine, accurate knowledge of the two stages of redemption and judgment in God’s work of saving humankind. Ever since the Lord Jesus carried out the work of redemption in the Age of Grace, although the sins of humankind received forgiveness, the problems of humans’ sinful origins and satanic nature have never been resolved. Therefore, humankind has not truly been saved. Salvation, as discussed in the Age of Grace, actually only referred to obtaining forgiveness of sins, meaning that God no longer looked upon humans as sinners, and because of the forgiveness of sins humankind could pray directly to God and enjoy God’s grace. This is the true meaning of salvation in the Age of Grace. When Almighty God came, He has revealed clearly the purpose of the work of the Age of Law and the Age of Grace. Almighty God had this to say about salvation in the Age of Grace: “At the time Jesus’ work was the redemption of all mankind. The sins of all who believed in Him were forgiven; as long as you believed in Him, He would redeem you; if you believed in Him, you were no longer a sinner, you were relieved of your sins. This is what it meant to be saved, and to be justified by faith. Yet in those who believed, there remained that which was rebellious and opposed God, and which still had to be slowly removed. Salvation did not mean man had been completely gained by Jesus, but that man was no longer of sin, that he had been forgiven his sins: Provided you believed, you would never more be of sin.” So being saved refers only to the forgiveness of sins, and this kind of salvation cannot allow people to gain entry to the kingdom of heaven. In fact during the Age of Grace the Lord Jesus suggested that only people who received salvation could enter the kingdom of heaven. The Lord Jesus said, “Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” It is receiving salvation that these words refer to. It is evident that in the Age of Grace being saved was merely laying a foundation and smoothing the way for receiving salvation in the Age of Kingdom. This confirms what Peter says in the Bible about those people “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1Peter 1:5) So the work of redemption that the Lord Jesus did has been to smooth the way and lay the foundation for God’s work of salvation in the last days. The work of judgment and chastisement in the last days that Almighty God—the returned Jesus—undertakes is the core and focal point of God’s work of salvation. It is just as Almighty God says: “In rescuing man off the cross, Jesus was only completing redemption work; He was not doing perfection work. Thus only half of God’s work was being done, and finishing the redemption work was only half of His whole plan.” Therefore, God became flesh in the last days to judge and chastise people with words, to work into people all the truth that they need, enabling them to truly know God, have their life disposition transformed, and become ones that obey God, worship God, and accord with God’s intention. It is only then that God completes His management plan to save humankind. Only when people accept the work of God in the last days, experience God’s judgment and chastisement, pruning and being dealt with, trials and refinement, gain the truth from God and possess God’s words as the reality of life will humankind have the ability to triumph over Satan and overcome sinful nature to be reborn as a new creation. In this way, Satan is no longer able to delude and corrupt this humankind that has the truth as their life, because when people gain the truth by which to live they naturally are able to live according to God’s words, genuinely obey God, worship God, and gain a true life. This is true salvation. Attaining salvation means that by gaining the truth people have gained new lives. Satan appears powerless in the face of people who have gained the truth. Satan’s fallacies, philosophy, and schemes are all repudiated and rejected by people who have gained the truth. Satan no longer has any means to delude and corrupt people who have gained the truth. All the heresies and fallacies of Satan that corrupt people are completely ineffective on people who have gained the truth, and are totally worthless. Nor does Satan have any status in the minds of people who have gained the truth, and is no longer idolized. Because Satan’s evil essence has been seen through, Satan is defeated and discarded by people who have gained the truth. It is such a humankind that is saved, the humankind that defeats Satan, stands witness, and is in accord with God’s intentions. This is the genuine meaning of being saved, and is precisely what the work of God in the last days is to achieve. Almighty God has said: “The work in the last days lays bare the work of Jehovah and Jesus and all mysteries not understood by man. This is done to reveal the destination and end of mankind and conclude all work of salvation among mankind. This stage of work in the last days brings everything to a close. All mysteries not understood by man must be unraveled to allow man to gain insight into such and have a clear understanding in their hearts. Only then can man be divided according to their kinds.”
It is by pursuing the truth and gaining the truth that people can attain salvation. If people have not gained the truth, then they surely still live in Satan’s domain, in bondage to corrupt flesh, still living in sin and always committing offenses. Just as in the Age of Grace, although their sins received forgiveness, people still constantly committed offenses, rebelled against God, and resisted Him. Their lives were a cycle of sinning and confessing, confessing then sinning. This is a fact that no one can deny. The task that the Lord Jesus undertook was the work of redemption for humankind. What those who believe in Jesus have only enjoyed is a life of peace and joy that comes when sins have been forgiven. Although they have been able to enjoy so much of God’s grace, their corrupt nature has not changed, and they have gone on as always resisting God and rebelling against God. How can we say such humans have been completely saved? Especially in the last days, human corruption has deepened to the point that the entire age has reached such an extreme of darkness and evil that the religious community is also in utter darkness. What people believe in and worship is a vague God, so believers in religious communities cannot in truth live like true humans, but just spend everyday living in the cycle of committing sins then confessing, confessing then committing sins. It is evident that Satan has turned humankind into unclean demons and devils, who don’t have the least likeness of true humans, and who are only able to commit sins and then confess them but are unable to practice the truth. Most of the leaders and pastors of the religious community serving God have resisted God from the beginning. Even up to the present, they are still resisting the work of God in the last days. They have already been the evil forces of Satan that are in enmity to God. Let me ask you, Are people who cannot free themselves from sin the ones who have received salvation? Are people who believe in God but resist God the ones who have received salvation? Those who enjoy God’s grace but carry out schemes to resist God, and work hand in hand with the great red dragon to persecute and hunt down Christ incarnate and condemn the work of God in the last days, are they the ones who have attained salvation? If people believe in God but still constantly rebel against God and resist God, if they fulfill their duties but still toy with God by going through the motions and deceiving God, are they the saved ones? In performing their duties, some cannot even refrain from going through the motions, from being greedy, malicious, destructive, and disruptive, and they do all they can to act immorally and lawlessly to the degree that they are without the least likeness of humans. How can we say that they have attained salvation? If so, then that is absurd in the extreme, twisting black into white! But God’s work is not as simple as people imagine, because God is a righteous and holy God, and God’s disposition does not tolerate human offenses, just as Almighty God has said:
“Since He created man, He leads him; since He saves man, He will thoroughly save him, and will completely gain him; since He leads man, He will bring him to the proper destination; and since He created and manages man, He must take responsibility for man’s fate and prospects. It is this which is the work done by the Creator. Though the work of conquest is achieved by purging man of his prospects, man must ultimately be brought into the proper destination prepared for him by God.” “Whether it be righteous judgment or heartless refinement and chastisement, all are for the sake of salvation. Regardless of whether today there is the classification of each according to kind, or the laying bare of the categories of man, all of God’s utterances and work are in order to save those who truly love God. Righteous judgment is in order to purify man, heartless refinement is in order to cleanse man, harsh words or chastening are all in order to purify, and for the sake of salvation.”
The purpose of the work of God’s judgment in the last days is to remove the corrupt satanic disposition from humans, allowing them to gain the truth, so that they no longer commit sins and resist God but are able to live according to God’s words, totally defeat Satan’s influence, and be free from sin. This is the result that God’s work will ultimately achieve. After we have gone through several years of God’s work in the last days, if we still cannot understand God’s intentions and have still not achieved the results that God demands, how can we say that we have attained salvation? Receiving salvation is absolutely not as simple as people imagine. It depends upon a person undergoing the judgment and chastisement of God’s words and trials and refinements step by step, upon them closely following each step of God’s work, and ultimately attaining the truth and the change of disposition to become a newly created person. Then such people themselves can defeat Satan and overcome sin by using the truth. They must develop a way of life in which they can consciously follow God’s words, completely submit to God and achieve accord with God before they can truly defeat Satan, overcome sin, and be gained by God. If a person can attain this result through experiencing God’s work, then that truly is attaining salvation. If someone believes in God without gaining the truth, they won’t stand firm when they encounter extraordinary trials, because they don’t have the truth as their life, and there is still a one hundred percent possibility that they will betray God. One cannot experience God’s work through one’s own imagination, thinking that attaining salvation is one hundred percent certain as they will surely follow God to the end and absolutely won’t betray God. In fact, to truly attain salvation one must complete every step of the work of God in the last days. One step less, one link in the chain less, is not enough. Some people, when faced with the persecution, arrests, and oppression of the great red dragon, don’t dare believe in God because they are so intimidated. Can they attain salvation this way? There’s a saying, “A miss is as good as a mile.” God’s work of testing and refining people in the last few years especially is the most crucial step and is indispensable. Believers in God must go through the ordeal of defeating the great red dragon before they can throw off the bondage and control of Satan’s influence, genuinely return to God, and be the true overcomers. If someone only half experiences God’s work, whoever they are they are quitting half way. For example, hens need to sit on their eggs for 21 days to incubate them before they are ready to hatch as chicks, but if they stop a few days before, the eggs will not produce chicks. And here, too, the length of time is important. As we experience God’s work we must follow the road to the end, for we can only guarantee receiving salvation if we experience all the steps in the work of God at the end of days. It won’t work if we miss one step out. We must undergo judgments and chastisements, endure pruning and dealing, as well as trials and refinements before truly understanding the truth, gaining the truth, and only then can our life disposition change. Those who believe in God for many years but do not genuinely experience the judgment and chastisement of God, never pursue the truth at all during all sorts of trials and refinements, but live on ignobly under the evil influence of the great red dragon, just trying to get through life, following the trends of Satan’s world, will absolutely not gain the truth or attain salvation. This is certain beyond doubt.
Attaining salvation is the ultimate result achieved when people accept God’s judgment and chastisement, trials and refinements. Because it is only understanding the truth and gaining the truth that brings change to a person’s life disposition. So people who attain salvation are certainly people who understand much of the truth and truly enter the reality of the truth. They are people whose viewpoint of things, view of life and values have undergone genuine transformation, and are people who constantly practice truth and are able to truly obey God. Especially in carrying out their duty, they revere God, are faithful to God, and do it up to standard without going through the motions, or deception. These are truly people who attain salvation. If people want to evaluate whether or not they attain salvation they first should weigh whether or not they have gained the truth. Only those who have gained the truth and entered reality are the people who gain life and attain salvation. Because it is only the truth that can change people’s viewpoint of things, only the truth that can change people’s dispositions and become their lives, therefore gaining the truth can change everything about a person. To put it concretely, by understanding the truth one can discern the deceptions of the work of all sorts of evil spirits; by understanding the truth one can discern all sorts of fallacies and heresies; by understanding the truth one can see through Satan’s schemes, see clearly the evil essence and true face of Satan and the great red dragon. By understanding the truth one can truly know the true face of one’s own corruptness, know the essence of one’s own nature and attain genuine repentance. By understanding the truth one can discern the deceptions of false leaders and antichrists, and not fall under their control. By understanding the truth one can discern all forms of the deceptions and disturbances of evil spirits and demons, be able to make a clean break from Satan’s forces, and be able to rebel thoroughly against the great red dragon and truly turn toward God. By understanding the truth one can grasp God’s intentions during all disasters and trials, not lose direction, and know how to be able to stand firm and bear witness to glorify God. Therefore, only the people who truly gain the truth and enter reality are the people who truly defeat Satan, break away from Satan’s influence, and attain salvation. What is crucial for whether or not people attain salvation lies in whether or not they understand and gain the truth. If people constantly sin, and always resist and rebel against God, that is sufficient to prove they have not yet gained the truth and have not yet attained salvation. If people do not understand the truth, if they still are subject to Satan’s delusions and corruptions, and still resist God, are they people who are saved? If people do not understand the truth, are still subject to the deception of false Christs and antichrists, are unable to follow God but follow the antichrists and resist God, are they people who have attained salvation? If people are without the truth, and can still be taken in by all sorts of fallacies and heresies, with no discernment, accepting fallacies as truth and still resisting God, are these people who are saved? If people don’t have the truth, are unable to see through the insidious and evil face of the great red dragon, unable to truly rebel against it, and still resist God, are they people who attain salvation? If people don’t have the truth, are unable to see through the essence of world trends, still follow the world trends, crave for material things while refusing the truth and opposing God, are these people who are saved? If people don’t have the truth, but constantly create conceptions about God, misunderstand, and even judge and delimit God while still imagining they are loyal to God, if they resist God without knowing it while still waiting to receive rewards from God, are these people who attain salvation? If people don’t know the truth, resist God while serving Him, submitting publicly but privately disobeying Him and doing whatever suits themselves, carrying out numerous sinful acts behind His back, saying they believe in God and follow God but standing on Satan’s side to resist God, are these people who attain salvation? In sum, people who don’t know the truth do not have a life of truths, therefore their actions violate the truth and resist God. So, if people do not understand the truth, then their satanic disposition still exists within them and will not change at all. And their satanic nature of resisting God and betraying God still exists and can never be resolved. Therefore, none of those people who don’t know the truth and have not gained the truth have attained salvation. Only those who in experiencing the work of God in the last days have gained the truth and entered reality are the people who are saved and perfected, just as Almighty God has said: “The perfected are righteous people, people made holy and pure; they are crystallizations of the work of managing humanity, or end products. Although they are not blameless humans, they are people who seek to live meaningful lives. But what about the conquered? They only verbally acknowledge that God exists; they acknowledge that God has incarnated Himself, that the Word appears in the flesh, and that God has come to the earth to do the work of judgment and chastisement. They also acknowledge that God’s judgment and chastisement and His smiting and refinement are all beneficial to man. That is, they are just starting to have the human likeness, and they have some understanding of life but are still foggy about it. In other words, they are just starting to possess humanity. These are the results of being conquered.”
What is crucial for whether believers in God can attain salvation or not is their gaining the truth and a new life while they experience God’s work. It does not matter how much people can say about their experience and knowledge of God’s words, what counts is whether or not their actions meet God’s demands, are in accord with God’s intentions, and whether or not they have entered the reality of the truth. If people live out the reality of God’s words they are people who have gained the truth, and are certainly people who know God and obey God. The great red dragon is currently frenziedly arresting God’s chosen people, widely condemning God’s work, distorting facts, twisting white into black, committing crimes of enormous magnitude. It is indeed a time that is putting people through trials and testing their work. People with the reality of the truth can bear glorious, resounding witness for God through all these trials, and it is all those who stand firm to bear glorious witness who are the people truly saved, who are able to gain God’s protection and blessings, and be led into the next age to gain a wonderful final destination. There is still hope of attaining salvation for people who at present have not yet entered reality but are able to catch up. If in the end they have still not been able to gain the truth and enter reality then they will be in trouble. They’ll certainly be eliminated, and absolutely won’t attain salvation. Therefore, in pursuing the truth one must achieve the results of gaining truth and entering reality, one must achieve the results of knowing God and obeying God, and must achieve the result of genuinely loving God. Only then can one be a person who truly enters the reality of truth, truly attains salvation, and is perfected. Some people have believed for over ten or twenty years but have been expelled by God’s house and eliminated because of their many evil acts, for which they completely lost any hope of being saved. These people were not loyal in doing service and were unable to do it to the end, absolutely good for nothing, and punishment is the only ending for them. The most important basis for judging whether people attain salvation is whether they possess the truth. Almighty God has said this: “I decide the destination of each man not on the basis of age, seniority, amount of suffering, or least of all, the degree of misery, but on whether they possess truth. There is no other choice but this. You must realize that all those who do not follow the will of God will be punished. This is an immutable fact. Therefore, all those who are punished are so punished for the righteousness of God and as retribution for their evil acts.” This shows that there is no hope for attaining salvation if one believes in God but does not pursue the truth. God is righteous, so no matter how many years one believes in God or how respected one’s credentials are, if one does not pursue the truth, in the end one will be eliminated. Those whose evil acts are numerous will receive punishment, and although they believe in God they not only are ineligible for salvation but will encounter misfortune. So that’s why I say receiving God’s salvation is no simple matter, and if one has not yet followed God to the end of the road it is premature to say that one has attained God’s salvation. If people have not pursued the truth they aren’t qualified to say that they have already attained salvation. If they have believed for many years without entering the reality of God’s words, without any truths, without the least change in their corrupt dispositions, they are certainly people who will be eliminated and have already completely lost any hope of attaining salvation. “For God’s work is the complete salvation of man—man who has been redeemed, who still lives under the forces of darkness, and who has never roused himself—from this gathering place of demons; it is so that man may be freed of millennia of sin, and be beloved of God, completely striking down the great red dragon, establishing God’s kingdom, and bringing rest to God’s heart sooner, it is to give vent, without reservation, to the hate that swells your breast, to eradicate those moldy germs, to allow you to leave this life that is no different from an ox or horse’s, to no longer be a slave, to no longer be freely trampled upon or ordered about by the great red dragon; you will no longer be of this failed nation, will no longer belong to the heinous great red dragon, you will no longer be enslaved by it. The demons’ nest will surely be torn to pieces by God, and you will stand beside God—you belong to God, and do not belong to this empire of slaves.” “Man was created by God, and ought to worship God, but man actually turned his back to God and worshiped Satan. Satan became the idol in man’s heart. Thus God lost His standing in man’s heart, which is to say that He lost the meaning of His creation of man, and so to restore the meaning of His creation of man He must restore man’s original likeness and rid man of his corrupt disposition. To reclaim man from Satan, He must save man from sin. Only in this way can He gradually restore man’s original likeness and restore man’s original function, and in the end restore His kingdom.” “The kingdom He wishes to establish is His own kingdom. The humanity He wishes for is one that worships Him, one that completely obeys Him and has His glory. If He does not save corrupt humanity, the meaning of His creation of man will come to nothing; He will have no more authority among man, and His kingdom will no longer be able to exist upon the earth. If He does not destroy those enemies who are disobedient to Him, He will be unable to obtain His complete glory, nor will He be able to establish His kingdom upon the earth. These are the symbols of the completion of His work and the symbols of the completion of His great accomplishment: to utterly destroy those among humanity who are disobedient to Him, and to bring those who have been made complete into rest.”
“My final work is not only to punish man but to arrange the destination of man. Moreover, it is to receive acknowledgment from all for all that I have done. I want each and every man to see that all I have done is in the right and is an expression of My disposition; it is not the doing of man, least of all nature, that brought forth mankind. On the contrary, it is I who nourish every living being among all things. Without My existence, mankind can only perish and suffer the invasion of plagues. None will ever again see the beauteous sun and moon or the green world; mankind shall encounter only the frigid night and the inexorable valley of the shadow of death. I am mankind’s only salvation. I am mankind’s only hope and even more, I am He on whom the existence of all mankind rests. Without Me, mankind will immediately become stagnant. Without Me, mankind will suffer catastrophe and be trod upon by all manner of ghosts, even though none take heed of Me. I have done work that can be done by no other only in the hope that man repay Me with good deeds. Though few can repay Me, I still conclude My journey in the world and begin on the work that will next unfold, for My journey among men these many years has been fruitful, and I am very pleased. I care not about the number of men but rather about their good deeds. In any case, I hope that you do sufficient good deeds in preparation for your own destination. Then will I be satisfied; otherwise, none of you shall escape the disaster. The disaster is brought down by Me and of course orchestrated by Me. If you cannot work for good in My presence, then you will not escape suffering the disaster. In times of tribulation, your actions and deeds were not entirely appropriate, for your faith and love were hollow, and you only showed either fear or strength. Regarding this, I will only make a judgment of good or bad. My concern continues to be all for your actions and behavior, on which My determination of your end is based. However, I must make it clear that I will give no more mercy to those who were utterly disloyal to Me in times of tribulation, for My mercy only extends so far. Moreover, I have no liking for any who once betrayed Me, much less do I wish to associate with those who sell out the interests of friends. This is My disposition, regardless of who the person is. I must tell you this: Any who break My heart shall not again receive clemency, and any who have been faithful shall forever remain in My heart.”
For people who believe in God to attain salvation they must know that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. If they cannot accept and submit to all the truth that Christ has expressed then it will be impossible for corrupt humankind ever to attain salvation. “Christ of the last days brings life, and brings the enduring and everlasting way of truth. This truth is the path through which man shall gain life, and the only path by which man shall know God and be approved by God. If you do not seek the way of life provided by Christ of the last days, then you shall never gain the approval of Jesus, and shall never be qualified to enter the gate of the kingdom of heaven, for you are both a puppet and prisoner of history.” “Those who wish to gain life without relying on the truth spoken by Christ are the most ridiculous people on earth, and those who do not accept the way of life brought by Christ are lost in fantasy. And so I say that the people who do not accept Christ of the last days shall forever be despised by God. Christ is man’s gateway to the kingdom during the last days, which none may bypass. None may be perfected by God except through Christ. You believe in God, and so you must accept His words and obey His way. You must not just think of gaining blessings without receiving the truth, or accepting the provision of life. Christ comes during the last days so that all those who truly believe in Him may be provided with life. His work is for the sake of concluding the old age and entering the new one, and is the path that must be taken by all those who would enter the new age. If you are incapable of acknowledging Him, and instead condemn, blaspheme or even persecute Him, then you are bound to burn for eternity, and shall never enter the kingdom of God. For this Christ is Himself the expression of the Holy Spirit, the expression of God, the One whom God has entrusted to do His work on earth. And so I say that if you cannot accept all that is done by Christ of the last days, then you blaspheme the Holy Spirit. The retribution that should be suffered by those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit is self-evident to all. I also tell you that if you oppose Christ of the last days, and deny Him, then there is no one who can bear the consequences on your behalf. Furthermore, from this day onward you will not have another chance to gain the approval of God; even if you try to redeem yourself, you will never again behold the face of God. For what you oppose is not a man, what you deny is not some puny being, but Christ. Are you aware of this consequence? You have not made a small mistake, but committed a heinous crime. And so I advise everyone not to bare your fangs before the truth, or make careless criticisms, for only the truth can bring you life, and nothing except the truth can allow you to be reborn and behold the face of God.”
If people believe in God and want to attain salvation they must accept and follow the appearance and work of Christ in the last days, and they must submit to the judgment and chastisement of Christ in the last days. This is the only road to reach salvation. So then, as people experience the work of God’s judgment in the last days, how after all should they pursue the truth so that they will be able to be granted salvation?
First, they must honestly accept the judgment and chastisement of God’s words. While undergoing the judgment and chastisement of God’s words, they must genuinely understand their own corrupt dispositions, understand their own corrupt, satanic nature, see the true satanic face and essence of human corruption, and attain a totally clear understanding of the source of humankind’s resistance to God. Only in this way can they understand the source of God’s fury toward corrupt humankind, and understand the intention of God’s judging and chastising humans and God’s demands upon humans. Only in this way can they submit absolutely to God’s work, and at the same time understand the inherent righteous disposition of God that does not tolerate offense. God’s righteous disposition is expressed when He reveals, judges, and chastises human corruption. If you do not accept God’s judgment and chastisement, then you will never understand God’s inherent righteous disposition. We can also say that if people do not truly experience the work of God’s judgment and chastisement they will never gain the truth, and never be able to reach a genuine understanding of God.
Some people accept God’s work in the last days, but do not attach importance to accepting God’s judgment and chastisement. In particular, they adopt an attitude of avoiding and evading God’s harsh words of judgment, accepting only God’s words of benediction, words of revealing mysteries, and words on entry into experience. This way, people who believe in God are not experiencing God’s work of judgment and chastisement, and they have completely missed the significance of believing in God and being granted salvation. People who believe in God this way absolutely won’t be granted salvation by God. Only by genuinely accepting all the truths that God has expressed and realistically undergoing God’s judgment and chastisement can people truly resolve their corrupt disposition, attain genuine obedience to God, worship God, and ultimately reach accord with Christ. Pursuing the truth is fulfilled in the experience of accepting and obeying God’s judgment and chastisement. Even more so, change of disposition is attained through step-by-step understanding of God during the course of accepting and obeying God’s judgment and chastisement, trials and refinement. The process of submitting to God’s judgment and chastisement is the process of seeking the truth, and the process of the transformation of disposition. Pursuing the truth and gaining the truth can only be achieved through experiencing God’s judgment and chastisement. This is what people who believe in God must understand. It absolutely cannot be overlooked that honestly accepting God’s judgment and chastisement is the start of experiencing God’s work and entering onto the right track of believing in God.
Second, to experience God’s work and be granted salvation by God one must fulfill one’s duty. This is an important condition of acting in concert with God’s work. Fulfilling your duty is also a sign of genuinely believing in God, and the proof that you believe in God is being able to faithfully fulfill your duty. If people do not fulfill their duty they are able to receive little of the work of the Holy Spirit, and it is nearly impossible for them to gain the perfection of the Holy Spirit. Only by fulfilling one’s duty can one fully experience God’s work, and easily receive the work and perfection of the Holy Spirit. Only by fulfilling one’s duty can one receive more of the work of the Holy Spirit, and be able to understand one’s own corrupt substance more profoundly, giving themselves more confidence to pursue salvation from God. Only by fulfilling one’s duty can one more comprehensively experience God’s judgment and chastisement, understand the nature of their resisting God and rebelling against God, and sincerely obey and worship God. Only when one has fulfilled their duty can they more genuinely understand God’s wisdom and almightiness and remove their own religious conceptions and falsehoods. Only when one has fulfilled their duty can they have richer life interaction with brothers and sisters of the church, bring about more of their own understanding of the truth to attain genuine knowledge of God, and bring about the transformation of life disposition. Only when we have fulfilled our duty are we able to make our hearts generous, our vision far-sighted, our knowledge broad, our wisdom full, thus step-by-step becoming suitable to be used by God. Only when we have fulfilled our duty can we understand the truth more deeply and enter into reality to attain transformation of our disposition and be perfected by God. In sum, fulfilling our duty is of great importance while experiencing the work of God. Whether we can fulfill our duty is directly related to the great matters of whether we can be granted God’s salvation and be perfected by God.
Third, only if one stores up enough good deeds will they have a good destination. Those without enough good deeds absolutely cannot be granted God’s salvation. God determined this long ago. All duties that people should fulfill are good deeds, but one must fulfill the duty well in order for it to be a good deed. If one fulfills duty without devotion and deals with it by just getting by, then it is not a good deed. If one is destructive or disruptive in fulfilling their duty, that is thoroughly evil. There is no bargaining in doing good deeds, and one seeks nothing in return for good deeds, but does them completely out of their own willingness. It is when people have genuine good deeds that God remembers them. Some people have donated money, then regretted it and demanded to have it returned. That is not a good deed. Bearing a grudge over taking others in for an extended period of time and constantly having complaints about it cannot equal a good deed. Doing something good for God’s house and then looking for something in return does not measure up as a good deed, either. Other people, after expending themselves on behalf of God’s house for several years feel that it is holding them back from more important things and begin to complain. That certainly doesn’t count as a good deed. No matter what good deeds you prepare, you should do them willingly, faithfully to the very end, and should be able to earn others’ approval. It is an act of kind-heartedness, and also a testimony to a person’s true repentance. There are many examples of good deeds earning God’s commemoration in the Bible that can be followed. For instance: In serving God, you can exhaust your mind and effort, be faithful to the point of death, be without regret or complaint—that is a good deed; being faithfully devoted to your duty, without any perfunctoriness or carelessness, and achieving good results—that is a good deed; to provide hospitality for several years as though it was a day, treating brothers and sisters like family, without demanding anything or seeking repayment—that is a good deed; to be completely willing regardless of the amount of money offered, without demanding anything or seeking repayment—that is a good deed; to expend for and devote yourself to God, not for fame and wealth, not seeking remuneration, without complaint—that is a good deed; to be caught and sent to prison for doing your duty, suffer great agony without complaint, and still be faithful toward God and still fulfill your duty—that is a good deed; to be able to spread the gospel and win more good people, bring those who seek the truth before God, and allow them to build a foundation upon the true way—that is an even greater good deed; if, moreover, you can then bring God’s chosen people into the reality of the truth, so that they bear resounding testimony to God, then there is no greater good deed; to be faithful to God no matter what duty you are fulfilling, without perfunctoriness or carelessness, sincerely repaying God’s love and satisfying God—that is a good deed. In short, anything that people can do that is beneficial to spreading the gospel of the kingdom, and that is done with sincerity, without seeking reward and without making trade-offs, all counts as a good deed. If you do your utmost to carry out all the good deeds you ought to possess, and are able to possess, without seeking compensation and only for the purpose of repaying God’s love, then that is possessing sufficient good deeds. Why does God want to remember good deeds? It is because good deeds are a demonstration of people’s genuine repentance, evidence of being faithful to God, and something that can give comfort to God. God loves and blesses people who have sufficient good deeds stored up.
What is stated above is three aspects of reality that we must have in order to achieve being granted salvation. Only those with these three aspects of reality are the people who are granted salvation. Along the way of pursuing the truth to attain salvation there are still many difficulties and dangers that people need to face, such as the break up of families, natural and manmade disasters, and all sorts of misfortunes and trials. It is absolutely not smooth sailing. Those without the truth waver, and the possibility of rebelling against God is still one hundred percent. At this point no one can go so far as to say that they have already been granted salvation from God, because there is still the last and most difficult stage to finish—under the persecution of the great red dragon—to faithfully fulfill one’s duty. That is, as the gospel of the kingdom spreads, fulfilling one’s duty, storing up sufficient good deeds, gaining the truth, and bearing witness are the crucial steps determining whether people can truly be granted salvation by God, and we can also say this is the crucial period for determining people’s destiny. Whether people can gain the truth and attain salvation depends upon how they pursue the truth and experience the work of God’s judgment and chastisement. It depends upon how well they have fulfilled their duty in order to satisfy God; it depends upon how they have stored up good deeds in order to repay God’s love; it depends upon whether or not, as the gospel of the kingdom spreads, they have been able to gain more people by evangelizing and bearing witness to God; and it depends upon whether or not people can complete what God has entrusted them to do to guide God’s chosen people onto the right track of believing in God, and finally attain understanding of God, obedience to God, and standing witness. It is such people who will be the people to be granted salvation and be perfected.
Among all the people who believe in God, people who pursue the truth constitute only a minority, and it is certain that ultimately many people will be eliminated for not pursuing the truth. It is also certain that some will receive punishment for committing all kinds of evil. Among the people who remain, some will be granted salvation for pursuing the truth. Others who are designated “faithful service-doers” for doing service faithfully to the end—will also constitute a part of the total, while the rest will be eliminated through perdition or destruction. These three kinds of people each make up about one third of the total. This is a fact that will come true, as seen from God’s words. Therefore, don’t imagine that staying in God’s house presently means that it is certain you will be granted salvation. In fact, people can tell clearly what sort of people can be saved and what sort will be eliminated. Everyone has an idea about this. The people who have held on to religious conceptions and illusions are the most foolish of people. The work of God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days is the work of bringing an end to the age. It is not like the Age of Grace when people could believe however they liked and no one intervened. The final age is different. God will thoroughly sort out who among humanity should remain and who should suffer destruction and who should suffer perdition in order to conclude the age. People who do not pursue the truth are only cheating themselves and fooling themselves. Only those who pursue the truth and gain the truth will be the people granted God’s salvation. In fact, it’s more realistic to say that they save themselves rather than say that they are granted salvation by God. If you do not pursue the truth the Holy Spirit will not carry out His work, nor will God acknowledge you. If you pursue the truth, the Holy Spirit will carry out His work, and God will be gracious to you. Because entering heaven depends upon the effort to pursue the truth, whether a person is granted salvation by God depends upon one’s own effort, upon realistically pursuing the truth, upon honestly paying a price, upon forsaking the flesh and practicing the truth, upon actively coordinating with the work of the Holy Spirit, as well as enduring the torments of all sorts of suffering, tribulations, and refinement. This is the only way to be able to receive the work of the Holy Spirit and God’s care and protection. If one doesn’t pay a price and cannot bear the suffering then all is finished, and there is nothing more to talk about. This is the reality of being granted salvation; this is the way things are. Do not harbor any of those religious conceptions or illusions. Only people who pursue the truth, experience the work of God and in the end truly gain the truth, are filled with the testimony of victory. It is these people who are truly saved and able to receive God’s care and protection. In order to bring an end to the age, God will first complete people who pursue the truth, then will bring destruction down upon the world. People granted salvation by God will receive refinement and gain purity during the catastrophes and will ultimately survive, while people who have not gained the truth will collapse when they encounter disasters or trials and will all die during the calamities. That is what is in store for people who do not pursue the truth. “Only by knowing God can man truly believe in God, and only by knowing God can he truly revere and obey God. Those who do not know God shall never truly obey and revere God. Knowing God includes knowing God’s disposition, understanding God’s will, and knowing what God is. Yet whichever aspect of knowing God it is, each requires man to pay a price, and requires the will to obey, without which no one would be able to follow to the end. The work of God is too incompatible with the conceptions of man, God’s disposition and what God is are too difficult for man to know, and all that God says and does is too incomprehensible to man; if man wishes to follow God, but is unwilling to obey God, then man will gain nothing. From the creation of the world until today, God has done much work that is incomprehensible to man and which man has found hard to accept, and God has said much that makes the conceptions of man difficult to heal. Yet He has never ceased His work because man has too many difficulties; He has carried on working and speaking, and even though great numbers of ‘warriors’ have fallen by the wayside, He is still doing His work, and continues to choose group after group of people who are willing to obey His new work. He does not pity those fallen ‘heroes,’ but instead treasures those who accept His new work and words. But to what end does He work in this way, step-by-step? Why is He always eliminating and choosing people? Why does He always employ such method? The aim of His work is for man to know Him, and thus be gained by Him. The principle of His work is to work on those who are able to obey the work He does today, and not to work on those who obey His past work, but oppose His work of today. This is the very reason why He has eliminated so many people.”
In order to be granted salvation one must pursue the truth, and for a person to fulfill a duty, no matter what it is, it depends upon pursuing the truth to achieve results. People performing duties without pursuing the truth are only rendering service and will absolutely achieve no good results. For example, if people working as leaders or co-workers in the church do not understand the truth it is impossible for them to serve God’s intentions. If we do not understand the truth it is also impossible to solve the problems of the various kinds of corruption and conceptions among God’s chosen people, or to evangelize and give witness to God. Discerning the work of the evil spirits and the delusions of false Christs and antichrists all depends upon understanding the truth. Discerning all forms of Satan’s evil doctrines and fallacies, and seeing through Satan’s schemes depend entirely upon understanding the truth. Being able to rebel against the great red dragon during trials, and thus escape from Satan’s bondage and firmly follow God all depends upon understanding the truth. To be able to win over more good people by spreading the gospel and bearing witness to God depends entirely on understanding the truth. Being able to attain a satisfactory performance of one’s duty and storing up sufficient good deeds all depend upon understanding the truth. To be able to stand witness and not forsake God during the great disasters and trials to come all depends upon understanding the truth. If people don’t pursue the truth there is a danger that at any time they will forsake God and leave God. In experiencing the judgment and chastisement of God, the more trials and suffering that people undergo the more beneficial and the more precious these are for people to understand the truth and know God’s work. Genuine life experiences—principally the experiences of judgment and chastisement, of pruning and being dealt with, of trials and refinement, of Satan’s persecution and oppression, of failures and setbacks, and of rejection and abandonment from their relatives, are the most valuable to people who pursue the truth. The more deeply and thoroughly that people experience God’s work, the more they have knowledge of God and the more clearly they understand the truth. Their life disposition will have unconsciously changed, and they’ll have no conceptual misunderstandings about God, no rebellion against God or resistance to Him, no more trying to fool God. Moreover, they are able to be faithful to God, able to obey, and able to worship God when they pray to Him. They are able to be faithful to God in fulfilling their duty, obey God unconditionally, and even if they have to offer up their lives for God they are willing to do so gladly. Such people have already completely attained salvation. Aren’t these people whom God’s words have perfected? Aren’t they the crystallization of God’s work? Although the road to being granted salvation by God seems so very difficult, and people must suffer so much and pay such a great price, what we gain is all too valuable. That is God’s blessing and promise. Would you say that being punished and damned to perdition and destruction is not suffering? What does our suffering amount to? It’s all that we should endure. If people do not suffer what they should for believing in God, then they will suffer the eternal flames of hell, and that is true agony! So the suffering that we endure for the sake of pursuing the truth and attaining salvation is light and momentary. Such suffering is entirely for the sake of gaining the truth, bearing witness, and satisfying God, so no matter how much we suffer our minds are at peace, comforted, at ease, and do not feel troubled. If we do not pursue the truth and are not in accord with God’s work, although physically we feel no pain, our spiritual suffering is all the more unbearable, and there is also the punishment and the damnation, the suffering of eternal doom, the suffering of perdition and destruction. That is the greatest suffering, and it is eternal suffering. Do you want that? When there is a road to heaven you won’t take it, but rather insist on going to hell with no one to turn to! This is the choice of people who belong to Satan. If you believe in God you should go the way that God leads. The farther you go along this road the brighter it becomes, and the farther you go the happier you are, for there is nothing to fear when you are together with God! Almighty God has said: “Eventually, all nations shall be blessed because of My words, and also smashed to pieces because of My words. In this way, all people during the last days shall see that I am the Savior returned, I am the Almighty God that conquers all of mankind, and I was once the sin offering for man, but in the last days I also become the flames of the sun that burn all things, as well as the Sun of righteousness that reveals all things. Such is My work of the last days.”
“Do you understand now what is judgment and what is truth? If you have understood, then I exhort you to submit obediently to being judged, otherwise you shall never have the opportunity to be commended by God or to be brought by Him into His kingdom. Those who only accept judgment but can never be purified, that is, those who flee in the midst of the work of judgment, shall forever be detested and rejected by God. Their sins are more numerous, and more grievous, than those of the Pharisees, for they have betrayed God and are rebels against God. Such men who are not worthy even to do service shall receive more severe punishment, a punishment that is moreover everlasting. God shall not spare any traitor who once evinced loyalty with words but then betrayed Him. Men like these shall receive retribution through punishment of the spirit, soul, and body. Is this not precisely a revelation of the righteous disposition of God? Is this not God’s purpose in judging man, and revealing him? God consigns all those who perform all kinds of wicked deeds during the time of judgment to a place infested with evil spirits, letting these evil spirits destroy their fleshly bodies at will. Their bodies give off the stench of corpses, and such is their fitting retribution. God writes down in their record books each and every one of the sins of those disloyal false believers, false apostles, and false workers; then, when the time is right, He casts them amidst the unclean spirits, letting these unclean spirits defile their entire bodies at will, so that they may never be reincarnated and never again see the light. Those hypocrites who did service at one time but are unable to remain loyal to the end are numbered by God among the wicked, so that they walk in the counsel of the wicked and become part of their disorderly rabble; in the end, God shall annihilate them. God casts aside and takes no notice of those who have never been loyal to Christ or dedicated any effort, and shall annihilate them all in the change of ages. They shall no longer exist on earth, much less gain passage into the kingdom of God. Those who have never been sincere to God but are forced by circumstance into dealing with Him perfunctorily are numbered among those who do service for His people. Only a small number of such men can survive, while the majority shall perish along with those who are not qualified even to do service. Finally, God shall bring into His kingdom all those who are of the same mind as God, the people and the sons of God as well as those predestined by God to be priests. Such is the distillate obtained by God through His work. As for those who are unable to fall into any of the categories set by God, they shall be numbered among the unbelievers. And you can surely imagine what their outcome shall be. I have already said to you all that I should say; the road that you choose shall be your decision to make. What you should understand is this: The work of God never waits for any that cannot keep pace with Him, and the righteous disposition of God shows no mercy to any man.”
