Many people believe that, by believing in the Lord, their sins are forgiven and they are saved, that to be saved once is to be saved forever and that, when the Lord comes again, they can immediately be raptured up into the heavenly kingdom. There is one fact, however, that cannot be denied: Although man’s sins are forgiven when they believe in the Lord, they are still capable of frequently lying and cheating and displeasing the Lord. They can reveal such satanic corrupt dispositions as being arrogant and self-righteous, selfish and despicable, crooked and crafty, and they live in a cycle of sinning and confessing, without the ability to free themselves. This shows that man’s sinful nature has not been eradicated. It says in the Bible, “Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).
