Chapter 2. Sermons and Fellowship About God’s Word “God’s Work, God’s Disposition, and God Himself III” (II)

Know God’s Disposition, Understand the Attitude With Which God Treats Each Kind of Person, and Achieve Real Faith in God

This knowledge on the part of people is a type of perceptive knowledge; to rise to the level of rational knowledge requires a gradual deepening and strengthening through their experiences. Before man truly understands God, subjectively it could be said that they do believe in the existence of God in their hearts, but they have no real understanding of specific questions such as what kind of God He actually is, what His will is, what His disposition is, and what His real attitude toward mankind is. This greatly compromises people’s faith in God—their faith simply cannot achieve purity or perfection. Even if you are face to face with God’s word, or feel that you have encountered God through your experiences, it still cannot be said that you completely understand Him. Because you don’t know God’s thoughts, or what He loves and what He hates, what makes Him angry and what brings Him joy, you do not have a true understanding of Him. Your faith is built on a foundation of vagueness and imagination, based on your subjective desires. It is still far from an authentic belief, and you are still far from being a true follower.” This passage is very important. It tells us what it means to truly know God. What does it mean to truly know God? First, it means to know what kind of God God actually is. For, if you are unclear regarding that, then you do not know God. Now, some might say: “I can tell you a set of theories, that God is righteousness and majesty, that He is wrath, that He is judgment, that He is also mercy and love.” And what is righteousness? What are the manifestations of His righteousness and majesty? To whom is His wrath directed? Once you are asked to start talking about their specific manifestations, you are unable to say anything about them. It is useless to talk only about theories, for if you do not know any of their specifics or have any specific knowledge of them, the theories you talk about are just empty words. Second, it means to know what the will of God is. Third, it means to know what the disposition of God is. Fourth, it means to know what actually God’s attitude toward mankind is. These four fundamental questions are the most important. If you can speak clearly regarding these specific questions, only then do you have the true knowledge of God; if you cannot speak to them with clarity, then you do not have the true knowledge of God. If a person does not have a real understanding regarding these four most fundamental questions, that is, these specific questions, if a person has no specific knowledge of them, then the faith that such a person has in God is greatly compromised; his real faith in God is not even worth mentioning, such a faith doesn’t count, and it is not valid. So this person’s faith in God has not reached the level of purity or perfection. There are many people who feel: “Ah, we are coming face to face with God’s words.” Sometimes, when having special experiences, we feel that we are coming face to face with God. However, are you able to talk about these four questions with clarity? If you cannot talk about these four questions with clarity, then even if you have come face to face with God’s words, even if you have come face to face with God during your special experiences, in God’s mind, you still do not know God. Why is that? “You don’t know God’s thoughts, or what He loves and what He hates, what makes Him angry and what brings Him joy,” you cannot speak clearly to these specific questions, and this is sufficient to show that you do not have a real understanding of God. “Your faith is built on a foundation of vagueness and imagination, based on your subjective desires. It is still far from an authentic belief, and you are still far from being a true follower.” From these words, we can see that the followers of God must have an authentic belief in God. On top of that, they also must have a true reverence for God. Only those who do are true followers of God. Without an authentic belief in God, and without a true reverence for Him, are such followers adequate? (They are inadequate.) If they are inadequate, then they are in danger, for they might be eliminated at some point in time. How does God eliminate people? Some say: “Aren’t they eliminated once they have been expelled?” That is the most obvious method of elimination. There are some methods of elimination that are not obvious. Do you know of them? That is, when the Holy Spirit is no longer performing work on someone, that is equivalent to them being eliminated. Isn’t that true? Being expelled is also being eliminated, but some eliminations are less explicit. A person might not have perpetrated any obvious evil deeds, and maybe he has not been expelled, but since he is not pursuing the truth, because he is not obedient to God, the Holy Spirit no longer performs work on him, and someone like this has also been eliminated. No man can fathom this method of elimination—the Holy Spirit no longer performs work on someone. Tell me, at such a time, wouldn’t God have His own thoughts regarding this person? God has His own thoughts regarding every person; therefore He has His own opinions of, His own arrangements for, and His own attitude toward each person. Do you understand God’s thoughts, opinions, and attitude toward you? You cannot comprehend them, because God has never told you. However, just because God has never told you, does that mean that God has no thoughts, opinions, or attitude toward you? No. How should we comprehend God’s thoughts, God’s ideas, and God’s attitude? How can we know them? Is there a path for this? We must find them in God’s words, we must come to an understanding of them through God’s words. If you have read too little God’s words or in your reading of God’s words you cannot receive the enlightenment from the Holy Spirit and you still fail to comprehend them, can such a condition be beneficial to you? If you really cannot comprehend them, yet after a while, you even think: “Ah, I have reverence for God, I have knowledge of God, I am most favored by God, and I am blessed by God,” isn’t this lying to yourself? Do you have a way to find any sign that lets you know God’s attitude toward you? What is this way? It is that you must strive to make progress, you must seek the truth, you must practice the truth, you must learn to be attentive to God’s will, and you must have a heart that fears God in all things. If you can practice these things, you shall have the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, and then you shall understand some of God’s attitude toward you. However, in a practical situation, if a person does not practice the truth and does not seek the truth, and he also does not make any effort to revere God and obey God, what is God’s attitude toward him? Some people have no idea. For instance, some people are troubled by their family, and therefore they no longer want to follow God, they no longer want to fulfill their duties, and they no longer want to leave everything behind and expend themselves for God. What is God’s attitude toward people like this? Let me make it clear to you right now. God puts such people aside and pays no attention to them. Is there any basis in God’s words for this attitude of God’s toward man? “The work of God never waits for any that cannot keep pace with Him, and the righteous disposition of God shows no mercy to any man” (“Christ Does the Work of Judgment With the Truth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). This is the basis. Now, some people simply do not practice the truth, they do not practice it even if they know it, they do not properly read God’s words, they also do not try to comprehend God’s thoughts, God’s mind and God’s will through God’s words, they do not learn to be attentive to God’s will, and they refuse to strive for the truths in God’s words. What is God’s attitude toward them? Putting these people aside and ignoring them. Whenever they strive for the truth, then God shall enlighten them. If they do not strive for it, then God shall ignore them, and after His work has concluded, He shall eliminate them. This is God’s attitude toward them. Now, some people still do not have a heart that fears God, they still do not practice the truth. When they expend themselves for God, they merely put in some effort, giving a little of their strength in situations where they do not need to suffer much, but they never pursue the truth, and they never strive to fear and love God. In God’s mind, such people are put aside and ignored. The Holy Spirit shall perform work on whoever seeks the truth and whoever strives for the truth. God said, “I only focus on watering and supplying those who pursue the truth.” If, in your pursuit of the truth, you stop after reaching a certain stage and cease to strive for the truth, then you shall remain there, and God shall leave you there, ignoring you. However, if anyone continues to pursue the truth, then the Holy Spirit shall continue to perform work on them. This is how God treats people. Some might say: “Then, does God have love toward the majority of people?” We can say that He has love toward them, and we can also say that He does not. This is a principle with which He performs work, and the love He has toward some people is different from that He has toward others. For instance, during the Age of Law, who was the person that God blessed the most? Who was the person that God perfected? It was Job. Did God love anyone other than Job? Such love was different than that for Job. For them, it was not salvation. He showed some mercy toward them, bestowed some grace upon them, and gave them some guidance; that was all. It was different from how He treated Job. During the Age of Grace, what was God’s attitude toward Peter? What was His attitude toward Thomas? God had love toward Peter, for Peter loved God, and Peter was someone approved of by God. God only had some mercy on Thomas and gave him some guidance. It was not real love, which means: “If you do not pursue, if you do not truly believe in Me, I shall not save you. If you truly believe in Me, then I shall save you.” This was God’s attitude toward him. This is God’s righteousness. Though God has some mercy on most people, supplies something to them, and gives them some guidance, yet if you do not go forward, if you do not cooperate, then God shall put you aside and ignore you, and then when His work is concluded, He shall eliminate you, and after you are eliminated, you will be annihilated like the unbelievers. This will be God’s attitude. This is God’s righteous disposition. This is the fact. Therefore, do not say, “Ah, God is love. God shall not abandon any who follows God, God shall look after all one hundred sheep, and if one of them should become lost, God shall go after it until He finds it.” This is a fallacy, this is people’s conception. I am telling you that God’s righteous disposition is not at all like this. You can interpret these words however you wish. You can interpret them as glass half full, or you can interpret them as glass half empty. It can be said that, if the ninety-nine sheep do not pursue the truth, they will also be eliminated. God never works on anyone forcibly, isn’t that the case? Let me say another thing. People from the Age of Grace have misinterpreted the Bible. They said, “We believe in the Lord and we rely on the Lord’s precious blood for salvation. This is a fact that no one can change.” However, now that Almighty God has arrived, does the Lord Jesus’ precious blood have any effect on those who remain in the Age of Grace? It does not have any effect on them. Why is that? The Lord has come back, yet they do not accept the truth, they no longer follow God, and they have betrayed God. The Lord Jesus’ redemption of people was not due to the effect of His precious blood. What was it due to? It was due to people’s faith in Him and people’s acceptance of Him. If you have faith in God today, then God shall save you today; if tomorrow you no longer have faith in God, then tomorrow God will eliminate you. Tell me, did the Lord Jesus’ precious blood have any effect on Judas? It had no effect on him, and if anyone says otherwise, it is merely his misinterpretation. The Lord Jesus’ redemption of men was due to men’s faith, and if men had no faith, they would not receive Jesus’ redemption. Therefore, the practical thing to say is that, at any time, man’s faith, man’s cooperation, man’s following, and man’s pursuit have critical impacts. Do not make a big deal out of the Lord Jesus’ precious blood. This is only man’s understanding, man’s theory, and it is invalid. Has the Lord Jesus said that His precious blood has any absolute effect? Has the Lord Jesus said, “When you enter the kingdom, take My precious blood, and no one can block you from entering the kingdom,” or any such words? Has the Lord Jesus said, “My precious blood shall forever have effect on you”? Has the Lord Jesus said, “Your entrance into the kingdom of heaven relies on the precious blood that I shed”? What should your entrance into the kingdom of heaven be based on? It should be based on doing the will of the heavenly Father. Doing the will of the heavenly Father is effective in helping you to enter into it, while the precious blood is not. Do not keep talking about the effect of the Lord Jesus’ precious blood, for this is a fallacy. Now, our top priority is to seek to know God’s disposition; this is the most critical. Who are those people that shall attain salvation, according to God’s will? Those who pursue the truth, who accept the truth and practice the truth. If you do not pursue the truth, if you do not accept or practice the truth, then God shall not save you, and you shall be one that God curses. Does this have anything to do with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus? Did the Lord Jesus’ redemption have anything to do with His precious blood? Did His work in the Age of Grace have anything to do with His precious blood? There was not the slightest relationship between them. His redemption of man only had something to do with man’s faith. You were finished if you did not believe in Him, you were finished if you did not accept Him. This is true, and there is no use talking about those empty theories.

Today, what must the followers of God focus on? Knowing God’s disposition. Why must we know God’s disposition? Because only those who fear God and shun evil will be approved of by God, that is, only they can attain salvation and enter the kingdom of heaven. How does one achieve fearing God and shunning evil? It is achieved through knowing God’s disposition. If you have no knowledge of God’s disposition, you can never become someone who fears God and shuns evil. This is absolute. Therefore, today, if we do not know God’s disposition, if we only believe in God’s existence, we cannot attain salvation. Only by knowing God’s disposition can we attain salvation. Some people are sitting at home, saying, “If I always believe in the existence of God, if I always believe that God is real, then I shall attain salvation. I do not need to expend myself for God, I do not need to pursue the truth, and I do not need to achieve fearing God and shunning evil.” Is this theory valid? People with such theories are deceiving themselves. Some might say: “I have difficulties at home, and the circumstances do not permit me to leave everything behind to expend myself for God. Will God save me then?” If someone cannot expend himself for God, cannot fulfill his duties, and does not pursue the truth, do you think God will save someone like that? God will not. God said, “If you cannot expend yourself for God, then wait for your death at home.” This is God’s thought. From this thought of God, what have we learned about God’s disposition? First, God does not force anyone, for God has dignity. God according to His disposition will never force anyone. Furthermore, God’s attitude toward Satan is to never pay any heed to it, and to destroy it when the time comes. After God has finished speaking His words, He does not give any explanations to man. You shall understand God’s words if you are able to, and you will not understand if you are unable. If you seek from God the understanding of His words, if you pray to God, then God shall enlighten you to understand them; if you do not seek from God the understanding of His words, if you do not pray to God, then you will never understand His words, and God will ignore you. This is the attitude of God. God is righteous, and this is fact. If you do not draw close to Him, if you do not seek Him, then He will never pay you any heed; this is fact. Job feared God and shunned evil, and therefore God approved of him; God did not approve of Thomas, and God does not approve of those who do not fear God. Therefore, if now you do not pursue the truth, the Holy Spirit will not perform any work on you; if you do not pray and seek an understanding of the truth from God, the Holy Spirit will not enlighten you to understand it. Without the work performed by the Holy Spirit on you, there is no use in carrying a volume of God’s words with you and reading it, for no problems will be resolved; this is the truth. Therefore, God’s disposition is righteous, He treats everyone the same. If you do not seek from Him the truth, He shall not perform work on you; if you do not pray and seek the truth, the Holy Spirit will not enlighten you. If you wait for Him, and you say, “I am waiting for God to come save me,” as God’s work is moving forward step by step, God will not wait for you. Many religious people say: “Our entire religious community is praying to God, God will come save us sooner or later.” You are wrong! If you do not accept the name of Almighty God, if you do not accept the work of Almighty God, God will never come look for you, you will be finished and you will die in hell. This is absolute.

Let me give you several more examples. During the Age of Grace, when the Lord Jesus appeared and performed His work, who did the Holy Spirit enlighten and illuminate, such that this person was able to recognize that Jesus was the Lord and Christ? (Peter.) Of all the Jews at the time, there were hundreds and thousands following the Lord Jesus, but only Peter was enlightened by the Holy Spirit. Were none of the others seeking? Did they not want to be enlightened? They did, but the Holy Spirit did not enlighten them, and He only enlightened Peter. What is this issue? There are some words that bear witness for God’s disposition quite well, “God shall show kindness to whomever He wishes, and no one shall interfere.” Such is God’s disposition. You want to seek “fairness and reasonableness” from God, but is that appropriate? That is resisting God. God said, “I shall enlighten whoever I wish, I shall show kindness to whomever I wish, and you shall not interfere, for you are the created.” Such is God’s disposition. How many aspects does God’s disposition have? “If you seek the truth then I shall enlighten you.” Isn’t that God’s disposition? “If you do not seek the truth then I shall not enlighten you.” Isn’t that God’s disposition? “If you sincerely expend yourself for God, then I shall bless you; if you do not sincerely expend yourself for God, then I shall not bless you.” Isn’t that God’s disposition? These are all God’s disposition. God never forces anyone, God never waits for anyone. His work is always progressing forward, and if you fall behind, if you no longer follow Him, then you shall be eliminated. This is inevitable. After you are eliminated, if you blame or complain about God, then you shall be annihilated. This is God’s righteous disposition. Now, there are so many people of religion who resist and condemn Almighty God; do you know God’s thoughts regarding this? Many people dare not say anything. Let me tell you something true. God said, “All those in religion who resist, condemn and blaspheme Almighty God shall be annihilated, and they will most certainly not be saved.” These are God’s thoughts, with clear words from God. Within religion, there are a small number of people who have a heart that fears God, who have not resisted Almighty God in their words and deeds, and such people may attain salvation after God has publicly revealed Himself, while all those who have resisted, condemned and blasphemed Almighty God shall be annihilated. God has spoken of this, and these are God’s thoughts. If you want to explain God’s will, you must convey God’s thoughts with the most accurate words, and only this means that you understand God’s will. Now, people in God’s house are classified into several types. Are you able to tell what God’s will is for the different types of men? All those who never pursue the truth, none of them shall attain salvation, and they will inevitably be eliminated. All those who have put in the effort to fulfill their duties, who have suffered to fulfill them, and who have paid the price to fulfill them, if they have a good humanity and if they do no evil, then they shall remain. All those who have committed all manners of evil, where all the things that they do are disrupting and interrupting the work of God’s house, they shall be punished. Such is God’s will. If you do not understand God’s will, then you have no knowledge of God. Your empty theories have no use; do not keep on having imaginations. Some ask: “Some people, when they see the work performed by God’s house, or when they see a certain evil person causing disturbance in God’s house, or when they see that some of the leaders and workers that God’s house uses have issues, these people would begin to have conceptions against God’s house, and they would blame God. What are God’s thoughts toward such people?” If you have conceptions against God’s house and resist God, then God shall punish you, regardless of what kinds of conceptions you have, whether they are reasonable or not. If you do not pursue the truth and you even have conceptions, if you have no obedience, and if you have no repentance, then God shall annihilate you, no matter the reason you give. Some might say, “I can see that this regional leader of ours or this church leader of ours is not pursuing the truth, and he is not being fair in handling certain things, therefore I shall no longer pursue the truth, and I shall no longer expend myself for God.” Well then, you shall die, and he shall also die. You shall both die. This reasoning is useless. If you do not pursue the truth, God shall annihilate you; if that false leader or false worker does not pursue the truth, God shall also annihilate him. Isn’t God righteous? If you are influenced by what he does, then bad luck will also befall you, and you also deserve to die. If he does evil, then you should do good, you should expend yourself for God, and you should be pursuing the truth. If you use his evil-doing as a reason no longer to pursue the truth, then you both deserve to die. This is God’s righteousness. Your reasoning is useless, stop reasoning. There is only one rationale: Do not be subject to the constraints of any people, things or objects, properly pursue the truth, and properly expend yourself for God, and you shall be blessed by God. None of the other rationales are valid to God. Some say, “My children are too young, and I cannot leave them, therefore I cannot expend myself for God.” God does not care about that. If your children are too young and you cannot expend yourself for God, then you shall die together with your children. Some say, “If this is the case, then I shall no longer believe in God.” If you do not believe, then you deserve to die even more, and you shall die even sooner; this is God’s righteousness. Are you still going to reason with God? If you keep on reasoning then you are a fool, and you shall die even sooner. If you have no obedience, then none of your reasoning is useful. Such is the righteousness of God. If you say, “There are still so many people in this world that have yet to believe in God,” if you see that there are so many people who do not believe in God, and so you also do not believe, then you shall die together with all those people. Your not believing is groundless. If you do not believe then you shall die. Such is God’s righteousness. Have I made this clear enough? Then let me ask you: Who actually is this God that we believe in? (The righteous God.) He is the righteous God; does He have any mercy and love? (Yes.) Where is that manifested? (He treats those who pursue the truth with mercy and love.) That is correct, and this time you know whom God shows His mercy and love to. It is good that you do not think that God shows them to the dead. Is there any use in reasoning with God? God does not reason with man, and God is righteous. He has said His words very clearly, and after He has said them clearly, He will not reveal Himself to anyone and say, “Let Me explain My words to you,” for God never explains His words to man. If you pray to God and seek the truth, then the Holy Spirit shall enlighten you; if you want to ask God this and that, you will not be given a chance to do so, for God shall pay you no heed. If you are someone who pursues the truth and loves God, then God might say some words to you. If you are someone who does not pursue the truth and does not love God, then God has nothing to say to you. Even though you believe in Him, He has nothing to say to you, for such is God’s disposition.

Is there any difference between Almighty God and the Lord Jesus? (Yes.) Are they similar in anyway? (Yes.) Did the Lord Jesus pay any heed to the Pharisees? Did He pay any heed to those who ate their fill? He paid them no heed. He gave them some bread, gave them some fish, and after they had eaten their fill, He left, and He had nothing to say to them. During the Age of Grace, wasn’t God a merciful and loving God? The Lord Jesus was so merciful and loving, yet why did He pay no heed to the Pharisees and those people who ate their fill? There is a limit to God’s mercy and love, they are not without limit. Do not interpret them blindly, and do not rely on the imaginations of man. Was He merciful to Judas? If He was merciful to Judas, then Judas would not have hung, and his bowels would not have gushed out after his death. God also cursed those who crucified the Lord Jesus. None of these people died well. Did God have mercy on them? (No.) What does it mean that “God had no mercy on them”? It means that He showed righteousness toward them. During the Age of Grace, God didn’t only have mercy and love, He also had righteousness, which ordinary people could not see. Many people say that, during the Age of Grace, God did not have righteousness. This is wrong. If God had not had righteousness then, how could there have been retribution for Judas? How could there have been retribution for those who had crucified the Lord Jesus? How could the nation of Israel have been destroyed? Aren’t I speaking of facts? (Yes.) Speak according to facts, and do not rely on imaginations. This God that we believe in now, what is His disposition? God’s disposition is primarily righteousness, which is the inherent disposition of God. How many details are there within this disposition of God that is primarily righteousness? God never forces anyone; God never consults anyone in His deeds; God’s deeds are never subject to the constraints of anyone; there are no taboos in what God does; God does whatever He wishes; God never seeks the advice of man; God’s work never waits for anyone; God’s tolerance of mankind is limited; God’s attitude toward man changes based on man’s conduct; God’s attitude toward anyone is never set in stone; God’s disposition cannot be offended, and anyone who offends God’s disposition must be punished; God examines the heart and mind of man; if man cannot open himself to God, and if man cannot obey God, then God shall hate man; if man obeys God and listens to God, then God shall show kindness to man; at any time, if man rebels against God and resists God, then man shall live under the curse of God; and God’s mercy for man is limited. Aren’t these some of the details within God’s righteous disposition? If you understand clearly and thoroughly these details, it shows that you have knowledge of God’s righteous disposition. Regarding these details, if you are unclear, if you cannot understand them, if you cannot comprehend them, then it shows that you do not have the true knowledge of God’s righteous disposition. If you have the true knowledge of God’s righteous disposition, then you are able to fear God and shun evil. If a man does not fear God, it shows that he has no knowledge of God’s righteous disposition, that he only understands doctrines, and that he can only apply rules. This kind of person can never gain the approval of God. This is absolute. These are details in the knowledge of God. Now, some might ask: “I have left everything behind, and I have been expending myself for God. Will I attain salvation for sure?” What are God’s thoughts on questions like this? You cannot answer it. If you do not understand God’s thoughts, yet you say that you know God, you are lying to yourself and to others. God will say this to such a person: “If you do not pursue the truth, you will also be eliminated.” He does not care whether or not you have expended yourself for Him, how many duties you have fulfilled, or how much you have suffered. If you do not pursue the truth, you will still be eliminated. It is not the case that if a man has put in the effort and expended himself for God, then he shall attain salvation for certain. The condition for attaining salvation is not to suffer and to expend oneself for God, but to pursue the truth and achieve fearing God and shunning evil, which is the criterion for attaining salvation. If you can expend yourself for God and fulfill your duties, then you have only prepared conditions for your salvation, it does not mean that you will attain salvation. Therefore, at this moment, of all the followers of God, some are still targets to be eliminated, for they do not pursue the truth and they do not have true obedience. I have seen that some people, in fulfilling their duties, are still acting recklessly, have no obedience, are doing whatever they wish according to their own will, are saying words that are the expression of their satanic corrupt disposition, and are too arrogant and conceited. Are such people in danger? Can they attain salvation? These are all unknowns. Some people are somewhat gifted, they have some education, and they have some abilities, yet that arrogance of theirs is not easily resolved. Once they have offended God’s disposition, they shall be finished all the same, and they shall be eliminated all the same. This is absolute.

The great red dragon is spreading rumors about God, saying things that blaspheme God, and some people have come to believe them. After they started believing such things, they begin to have conceptions against God. Tell me, what are God’s thoughts regarding such people? God says, “You are a devil as well, you are not someone who shall be saved, and you shall be destroyed just like the great red dragon.” Regarding this matter, you do not have a heart that fears God, and you even want to find faults with God. You are looking for trouble. You are always being picky with this or that work performed by God’s house. Continue to be picky, and you shall die soon. While you are still being picky, you are already finished, and the Holy Spirit will abandon you. When God says, “I hate you, and I loathe you,” you will be finished. Never mind you being picky for several more years, even when you are being picky right now, this heart of yours is condemned by God, because God’s disposition cannot be offended. Therefore, what are all those rumors and lies of the great red dragon? Let me tell you the truth, they are traps and electric fences laid down for some people, and they shall die once they touch such things, believing such things. If you dare to offend God, only death awaits you. This is the case. Therefore, for those who believe in God and follow God, if in God’s mind they are not good people, then they believe in and follow God in vain. If a person does not pursue the truth, no amount of enthusiasm can help him. If you are at God’s house, you must follow the rules. You must do whatever you are told, you must do them in whatever ways you are told, conscientiously, and you will be fine. God examines the hearts and minds of people. You must be principled when doing things, be attentive to God’s will, and do things in order to satisfy God, then what you do shall be accepted by God, then the Holy Spirit shall perform work on you, and you shall enjoy God’s presence, which are the seal. If you are not attentive to God’s will, always doing what you wish, and always doing things in order to advance your own interests, as God searches all this, the Holy Spirit will not be with you, and you will not have the blessing of God. Even if you continue to do so until the very end, it is no use, and in the end, you will be annihilated, for this is God’s disposition. It is not an easy thing to know God’s disposition. If someone merely understands God’s disposition doctrinally, it does not mean that he knows it, for God is a real, living God. He is not an idol carved out of wood or molded out of clay, He is not vague, and His existence is not dispensable. He is a real and living God, a practical God. This practical God has thoughts, opinions, and emotions just like a living person. God has His joy, His love, and His hate; furthermore, God has His dispositions, His thoughts, and His ideas. Yet God’s thoughts and ideas are higher than those of man. God is almighty, and He is the Creator, and therefore He is a real and living God. Do not forget that He has ideas regarding all kinds of people and all types of matters. If you do not understand His thoughts, then you will have no idea how to believe in Him, how to follow Him, or how to seek knowledge of Him. You must understand His thoughts, and only after you have understood His thoughts and His dispositions, can you walk the right path in your faith in God, and only then can you attain salvation and perfection. If you never pay attention to understanding God’s thoughts or pay attention to knowing God’s disposition, then you will never be able to walk the right path in your faith in God, you will not pursue the truth, and you also will not gain transformation in life disposition. This is absolute. Look, how come there are so many who have believed in God for so many years, yet their life disposition has not transformed one bit? What is the matter? This is because they have never pursued the truth, and they have never gained real knowledge of God’s disposition. What is the result when a person does not have real knowledge of God’s disposition? Then he can too easily do things and have thoughts and ideas that resist God, and thus he can too easily incur God’s hatred and anger.

Now, I am particularly disgusted by the way many people perform their duties. I said to them, “You have worked for such a long time, yet there is no result, and you have not done any practical work. Aren’t you simply doing busy work that goes nowhere? Can God approve of you for doing busy work that goes nowhere? If you cannot do practical work, then the little work that you do is not worth anything, for it has no value. You are expending yourselves for God nominally, and you are performing work for so many hours each day, but what is the result and value of the little work that you do? I am going to say something that you will not like to hear: The work that you have done is like the rags and the other refuse that a rag picker has picked up during the day. Though they are a very heavy load when carried on his back and a big pile on the ground when displayed, how much money can they be sold for in the end? What is the nature of the fulfillment of your duties? Isn’t it just like picking up useless things on the streets which are not worth much? You are not even qualified to be a service-doer.” These people even gave their reasons, “I have been busy for the entire day, and I am quite exhausted.” No matter how exhausted you are, it is useless, because it is worthless. When fulfilling duties, what result you must achieve to gain the approval of God? You must meet the requirements of God so that the hard work and sweat for fulfilling your duties will be remembered by God. Right now, many people’s fulfillment of their duties does not have much value, it is not worth much. These people are hustling every day, yet their running around has not produced any finished products. Everyone is putting in the effort, and everyone is fulfilling their duties, but how come some people can achieve a passing grade, yet others are never able to satisfactorily fulfill their duties? Why is this the case? Are you able to give a conclusion? Isn’t this directly related to whether someone has a heart that fears God and whether someone has the truth? You can tell whether or not someone is in possession of the reality of the truth from the fulfillment of their duties. It is plainly revealed, despite what they might say. If they have no truth, then it will never be easy for them to satisfactorily fulfill any duties. Therefore, if you do not know God, then you do everything in vain, your faith is in vain, your hard work is in vain, your spending yourself for God is in vain, none of them have any significance. If a person has come to know God and has the truth, he will achieve results in whatever he does, and he will gain God’s approval in whatever duties he fulfills. Why is a person doing service if he does not have the reality of the truth? It is because his performance of duties is not worth anything, and it cannot meet the requirements of God. Therefore, he is doing service. When doing service, no matter how much sweat and tear you shed, they are not worth anything. It is just like someone picking up a lot of junk on the streets; he can load up an entire cart with the junk, yet such junk is not worth much money. Tell me, those who collect junk, regardless of how much they collect, can they become wealthy? (No.) Because junk is worthless. Even if you load up an entire train with junk, it is still useless. However, what if you have picked up some treasure? If you have picked up a pearl, an agate, a precious stone, or a diamond, then such things are very valuable. What do you want to pick up? Do you want to pick up some junk, or do you want to pick up some treasure? It depends on whether or not you pursue the truth. If you pursue the truth, then the work that you do will become treasure; if you do not pursue the truth, then the duties that you fulfill will not be satisfactory.

What does it mean to pursue the truth? It means to pursue the knowledge of God’s disposition. If you pursue the truth, then you shall come to know God’s disposition. If you do not pursue the truth, then you shall never come to know God, and if you do not know God, then nothing you do has any meaning. Now, do you dare say that you have true knowledge of God? If you have some experience and some knowledge of God, it does not mean that you have true knowledge of God. If you have some knowledge regarding a certain aspect of what God has and is and a certain aspect of God’s disposition, it does not mean that you have comprehensive knowledge of God. The knowledge of God is multifaceted. Especially regarding the knowledge of God’s disposition, this lesson is the deepest, and it is not attainable by those with ordinary caliber. Many people who have believed in God for many years have no knowledge of God. Look at the work that they do and the things that they say, and you will see that there is no truth in any of them. You have them review a film, and ask them: “Tell me, what issues are present in this movie? Should it be edited? Is it satisfactory?” Yet they know nothing about these things. Do people like this have any truth? You tell them to write a play, and they do very poorly. Do people like this have any truth? You tell them to make a movie, and they cannot do it. Do such people have any truth? If they cannot see any issues in a play, do they have any truth? When you tell them to play a role, they do not know what attitude this role should have, and what kind of disposition it should reveal, and therefore they act out the role haphazardly. Do such people have any truth? When you play a particular role, you must have knowledge and understanding of that role. You must have a good grasp of that character’s thoughts, ideas, attitude, expressions, and behavior in everything—you must be able to see clearly and master all these things of the role before you can play that role well. If you have no understanding of this role, if you do not know the attitude that the role should have, the thoughts and ideas that the role should have, the expressions that the role should show, and the body languages that the role should use, then how can you play this role? Do such actors have any truth? Without the truth, you cannot properly act in a play. When people watch the play, they will find it confusing, it will have no good effect, and they will become disgusted, saying that you played the role wrong, that this role is supposed to be very serious, and that your temperament is all wrong. Right now, do most people have any principle in the things that they do? (No.) Why do they have no principle? They do not have the reality of the truth. Without the reality of the truth, can they fear God? If such people still do not pursue the truth, if they still do not turn back, what will be the result? (They will be eliminated and annihilated.) They will still be eliminated, and that is for certain and inevitable. God’s thoughts go like this: You are within this stream, but if you are not pursuing the truth, then you will still have to be eliminated. Anyone who is outside of God’s words must be eliminated. This is what God means. This is God’s disposition. Can you see this now? If you do not understand this, if you do not believe this, and if you are always relying on your one-sided imaginations and your own wishful thinking to understand God, then you are wrong. Here, how many specific aspects does the knowledge of God’s disposition involve? One is the knowledge of God’s thoughts; another is the knowledge of what God loves, what God hates, what makes God angry, and what brings God joy. These things must be understood. Yesterday, God watched two movies that relate to the attainment of salvation and He was happy. God was happy because of this, and He felt some consolation. God looks at the things that some people did and finds no consolation, for these people were not thinking when they were doing these things, they had no idea how to do them, and they did these things without any care. They considered them in a very simplistic way, they did these things whatever way they wished, and they acted absurdly, so that they did not succeed. Why did they act absurdly? Was it because God’s house had not explained these things clearly to them? No, they had been explained clearly to them, and they had heard, but they paid no heed, and they did them according to their own will. They had made the promises, but they did not give it any importance, and they did the things according to their own ideas. Isn’t this the manifestation of not listening to God’s words? Isn’t this the manifestation of rebelling against God? This is doing wrong deliberately. If after someone has listened to what God said, he fails to put it into practice, what issue is this? It means that he does not know this aspect of God’s disposition: When God is telling you things, make sure you remember, do not be careless, and never pay no heed to them. He is only going to tell you once. If you pay no attention to what He requires you to do at the time, and if you make a mistake when doing it, then God will no longer pay you any heed, God will no longer see you, and God will hate you in His heart. When that happens, you will have to await punishment, and you will be in danger. No matter the situation, if you pay no heed to His words, then you are in trouble. Isn’t this God’s disposition? Someone is always joking around, not taking the words of anyone seriously. He may have forgotten what you said, may have heard what you said, or he may have thrown it all to the wind, not feeling anything afterward. Someone like that is the devil, this is the disposition of the corrupt mankind. God’s disposition is not like this. If He tells you something, and if you hear it and make a promise, then next time He will ask if you have done as He said. If you have not, then God shall become angry with you, God will no longer pay you any heed, and God will no longer trust you. God will say, “You do not listen, and I will no longer talk to you,” and then you will be in much trouble. Those who do not practice the truth and do not have a heart that fears God, can they interact with God? If you are people like this, then before you have interacted with God for even three days, God will come to loathe you, God will no longer pay you any heed, and He will no longer talk to you. You will be unable to interact with God even for three days. God likes honest people, those who can open their heart to God, who place importance on what God says, who listen to God, and who can follow what God says, and afterward truthfully report back to God on how they have done so. If you should lie to Him, then He will no longer pay you any heed. Such is God’s disposition. Therefore, if your corrupt disposition is severe, if you are arrogant and self-righteous, or if you are too dishonest and you are cunning on the inside and always lying, then never expect to associate with God, for God will never see you. God will never talk to you or associate with you. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit will never perform work on you. This is absolute. This is God’s disposition. Can you understand these words? I am telling you the truth, and this is the case. Therefore, God’s words have mentioned that it is very dangerous for you to meet Christ, for on account of your disposition, you are not fit to see Christ. So you will be in a lot of trouble when you actually do meet Christ. The result will be unimaginable. Therefore, it is no child’s play to know God’s disposition. It is a serious matter.

How come many people appear as if they are pursuing the truth, yet their life disposition has never been transformed? What is the problem here? The problem is that they have no knowledge of God’s true disposition; therefore they have no transformation in their life disposition. This is the key. Don’t you think that is the case? These days, I often talk about “foolish old ladies are in false spirituality.” God does not approve of any such people. Although they appear honest, they cannot resolve any issues and cannot perform any work, and they shall receive no approval from God. God likes honest people, people with the truth, and people that can perform actual work, who can bear true testimonies. If a person can never come up with any finished products in his fulfillment of duties, yet he says that he has suffered much, it is no use saying that. God does not look at how much you have suffered; He looks at what kind of result you have achieved in your fulfillment of duties, whether you have achieved any actual result, and whether it can bear witness for God. These are the things that God cares about. He does not care whether or not you have suffered. Regardless of how much you have suffered, if you have not come up with finished products, God will not approve of you. This is God’s righteous disposition. God is practical in what He does. No matter what the country, the person or the matter is, God has His own thoughts toward them, and only by grasping God’s thoughts can you grasp God’s will. If you cannot grasp God’s thoughts and God’s attitude, then you are not someone who knows God. When someone who does not know God encounters the abuses, arrests or persecution of a country or a regime, he will be shaken to the core with fear. When you know God’s thoughts and God’s attitude, you will feel that you have strength, you will feel that as you depend on God, you are scared of nothing, and you shall gain faith. Isn’t this the result obtained through knowing God’s disposition? If you do not know God’s disposition and do not know God’s thoughts, then never mind when a regime persecutes you, even when an individual persecutes you, you will be shaken to the core with fear, you will feel helpless, and you will not know what to do. Isn’t that the truth? So tell me, isn’t it important to know God’s thoughts? (It is important.) Then, are you clear about what kind of people God loves, what kind of things God loves, and what kind of nations God loves? God loves those who pursue to know Him, God loves those who sincerely love God, God loves honest people, and God treasures the good deeds of people. As regard what God loves, you can come up with a correct answer. What does God hate? God hates those who do evil, God hates evil people; God hates deceitful people; God hates those who do not love the truth; God curses those who resist Him; God hates all those nations that do not worship God and that resist God, God hates those atheistic regimes, and God curses all those nations that belong to Satan. Now, you also understand what God hates, right? Furthermore, you must understand what kind of people God is angry with, what makes God angry, and what brings God joy. When you have come to know all these things clearly, then you will have gained some knowledge of God’s disposition. For example, if you are never attentive to God’s will, and if you never seek the truth and never practice the truth, after a period of time, you shall begin to see that your environment is changing, you shall begin to see that you shall encounter inauspicious things. Why is that? For God is already angry with you, God already loathes you, and God is no longer with you. You should know these things clearly. Why are there so many disasters in the nation of the great red dragon? Because it resists God, it persecutes God’s chosen people, and it tries to stand in the way of the work performed by God. Therefore God has rained down disasters onto its head. Why do various nations encounter disasters? While they appear to encounter natural disasters, there are actually many different factors involved. Are there any instances of resisting God in Korea? (Yes.) Are there any instances of resisting God in Taiwan? (Yes.) Are there any instances of resisting God in Hong Kong? (Yes.) Therefore, they continue to encounter natural and man-made disasters. Yet, have those parties in power reflected upon themselves? (No.) Therefore they are cursed, and they will be annihilated by disasters in the future. This is the reason that the disasters are occurring with more and more severity. What are the things that make God angry? Do you have any subjective experience in this respect? In what situation have you experienced God’s anger? Sometimes, when God no longer pays you any heed, it is not a good omen. Do you understand? When God pays you no heed, it means that God does not like you. Because you do not seek the truth, and do not practice the truth, therefore God becomes distant from you and pays you no heed. If you still do not repent and strive to make progress, then God’s anger shall come upon you. When God’s anger comes upon you, you shall encounter disasters, such as sickness and diseases, and then you will no longer be able to fulfill your duties or expend yourself for God. As God has deprived or stripped you of your eligibility to expend yourself for God, doesn’t it mean that God is angry with you? You said that you are willing to expend yourself for God for the rest of your life, but God does not want you anymore. God said, “I am stripping you of your eligibility, I shall make it such that you can no longer expend yourself for Me. I shall keep you in bed with serious illness. How will you expend yourself for Me then? I shall allow conflict to occur in your home and raise up the circumstances that will hunt you down. How will you expend yourself for Me then?” Isn’t this that God is angry with you? Do you know what makes God angry? Do you know what brings God joy? If you are preparing good deeds, if you are attentive to God’s will, and if your heart is entirely open to God, allowing God to dwell in it, and magnifying God, then God shall have some joy and consolation because of this. If you can sincerely expend yourself for God, seek the truth, practice the truth, and achieve results in bearing witness for God, then God’s heart will be consoled, and you will have joy in your heart. This is because God feels joy based on what you have done, and therefore you will have consolation and joy in your spirit. The joy that you feel represents that God likes, approves of, and appreciates you. Now, in all that you do and in your fulfillment of duties, do you have real obedience and real reverence for God? Can what you do testify of God? If you have them and if what you do can testify of God, then God shall show His satisfaction with all that you do, and He shall be consoled, and thereby feel joy. If all that you do has no result at all, if God takes a look at it and is not satisfied, if God has not found any consolation from you, then He shall have no joy. You must have clarity and knowledge regarding all this. If one day you have come to feel that things are not right, always feeling as if the sky is going to fall and a catastrophe is looming, this shows that God is going to be angry with you, and that you have already distanced yourself from God, and the catastrophe is imminent. Have people ever had a feeling like this in their heart and spirit? (Yes.) This is the knowing in the intuition. The debauchery of some people reaches a certain level, and then one day they have a nightmare, they feel that it is a bad omen, and they fear that they have incurred the wrath of God. They hurry to turn back and pray to God: “Oh God, I have distanced myself too far from You. Oh God, I am too rebellious. Oh God, I am willing to repent, I shall expend myself for You, and I shall pursue the truth.” Then, after a few days, their heart and spirit find peace, and they have averted the catastrophe. Do you ever have any such experience? (Yes.) So tell me, what kind of God is God? What is God’s disposition? Can you say something about that? You must have knowledge of God’s disposition and know exactly what kind of God is this God that you are believing in. If you believe in Him and know Him and can have a heart that sincerely and absolutely fears Him, only then is your faith satisfactory. If your faith is not yet able to develop in you a heart that fears God, then your faith is unsatisfactory. Now, are you someone who fears God? Some might say, “I only believe in God, and I do not have any reverence for Him or knowledge of Him,” then this faith of yours is built on the foundation of vagueness, imaginations, and subjective desires, and it is not a real faith. With a faith like this, are you able to attain salvation? Such a faith is a waste of time. A confused faith is useless, you must pursue the truth. If you do not pursue the truth, your faith cannot blossom and bear fruits; if you do not pursue the truth, your faith can never enable you to meet the criterion of fearing God and shunning evil. If you have believed in God for ten to twenty years, yet you are still not someone who fears God and shuns evil, then can such a faith be approved by God? It will absolutely not be approved by God. Tell me, how should you pursue to know God? You must have an understanding of the God that you believe in. Do you really understand the God that you believe in? Do you dare say that you have an understanding of Him? Now, most people feel, “The God I believe in is a God of mercy and love, and I can believe in Him in whichever way that I want. He does not care whether or not I pursue the truth, and He also does not mind whether I have transgressions or not. Therefore, I can believe in Him in whatever way that I wish to, I can believe in Him in whatever way that I want.” Does someone like this have any knowledge of God? Is he someone who fears God? Is such a faith satisfactory? Isn’t this the kind of faith that most people have? If some people can realize this clearly, “The God that I believe in is a righteous God. He treats people with love and sometimes with hate, He does not force people, and in particular, His disposition cannot be offended. You shall bring death upon yourself once you have offended His disposition. Therefore, I must believe in Him with fear and trembling and care, and I must live in His presence with a heart that fears Him very much, and only then will I be blessed,” if they have this kind of knowledge of the God that they believe in, then this faith of theirs is satisfactory. Does God have any mercy toward someone like this? He truly has mercy toward them. For those like Job and those like Peter, God has mercy on them. If someone has believed in God for many years, yet he doesn’t have any knowledge of the God that he believes in, and in his faith, he even thinks of God only as being merciful and loving, then he is someone who resists God, someone who does not know God. God shall eliminate him, and God will not acknowledge him. This is the truth.

Now, regarding what kind of God the God that you believe in really is, regarding what aspects His disposition includes, and regarding whether He loves or hates you, do you have any real understanding? If you have a real understanding of these things, then write them down. What is the attitude that the God you believe in has toward you now, and what are the thoughts and ideas that He has toward the behaviors of yours now? Can you state them clearly? Should you not reflect upon yourself? How is your relationship with God? You should know God’s thoughts, and this is very important. Do you think that you can really attain salvation if you continue with your faith like this? If you do not pursue the truth, then, as you are right now, under your current background and in your current condition, can you be certain whether or not you shall attain salvation? Don’t most people have no clarity on this? (Yes.) Is it a good omen that they have no clarity regarding this? This is very worrisome, for it is an unknown. Now, it seems to me that some people are still messing around, and they still have not begun to worry. They still have no understanding regarding whether they have any reality of the truth in believing in God or regarding how immature their own stature is. They do not have any worry in their heart, they do not care about those thing one bit, they are even proud of themselves. Aren’t these muddleheaded people? They are possessed of a confused faith. Have you now gained a basic clarity regarding whether or not you are indeed someone who knows God? If a person does not know God’s thoughts and ideas about him in many different areas, someone like this is possessed of a muddled faith, he does not know God, and he is living in darkness, groping around in the dark like someone who is blind. Isn’t someone with a stature like this wretched? If someone speaks eloquently when it comes to talking about doctrines, yet when asked about substantial questions on knowing God, he has nothing to say, without any idea as to the answers, such a man is wretched. There is no use talking about doctrines, for it cannot save you.
