820 The Testimony Man Should Bear
Verse 1
Bearing testimony means speaking of God’s work,
of how He conquers, changes, and saves people,
telling what you know of how He guides people
to enter into the reality of truth,
thus allowing themselves to be conquered
and then to be made perfect and saved by Him.
Verse 2
Bearing testimony means speaking of God’s work.
It means speaking of all you have experienced.
Only His work can represent God Himself,
and reveal Him fully and openly.
It bears witness to Him and, along with His words,
directly represents the Spirit.
Pre-chorus 1
Though these things are expressed through God incarnate,
they are really expressions of the Spirit.
All the work He does, all the words He speaks,
every one of them represents His essence.
Chorus
When you bear witness to God,
you should not simply testify
to His normal humanity,
but also to the work He does,
the path He leads, how you’ve been conquered,
and how you have been made perfect.
These are the things you should speak of
when you bear testimony to God, to God.
Verse 3
You have experienced judgment, refinement,
as well as trials and setbacks, tribulations;
you’ve been conquered, and set selfish things aside,
including your personal motivations
and the prospects and interests of the flesh.
In short, God’s words have conquered your heart completely.
Pre-chorus 2
Though you’ve not grown in your life like God demands,
you know these things and you’re convinced by what He does.
And so this may be called true testimony,
and it’s testimony that is real and true.
Chorus
When you bear witness to God,
you should not simply testify
to His normal humanity,
but also to the work He does,
the path He leads, how you’ve been conquered,
and how you have been made perfect.
These are the things you should speak of
when you bear testimony to God.
Bridge
The work that God has come to do,
the work of judgment and chastisement,
is work that’s meant to conquer man,
but also work of conclusion.
He’s ending the entire age,
delivering humankind from sin,
fully gaining humankind, which He created.
You should bear testimony to all of this.
Chorus
When you bear witness to God,
you should not simply testify
to His normal humanity,
but also to the work He does,
the path He leads, how you’ve been conquered,
and how you have been made perfect.
These are the things you should speak of
when you bear testimony to God, to God.
Outro
In the future when the gospel is spread,
you should speak of your own knowledge,
testify to all that is gained in your heart,
and all the while you should spare no effort.
A created being should attain this.
