God’s Spirit has sought and searched doing his work on earth for so many years. Throughout the ages and generations, God has used so many men to do his work. But God’s Spirit has never had a suitable resting place. Thus, God has moved among different men doing his work. On the whole he has always done it through men. That is to say, over so many years, God has never stopped his work and has been carrying it out on people all along and has been doing it until today. God has spoken so many words and done so many works, but people still do not know God, because he has never appeared to them and he has no form and no image. So, God has to accomplish this work—causing all people to know the real meaning of the practical God. To achieve this, the only way is for God’s Spirit to practically appear to people and work among them, that is, God’s Spirit, with an image, with bones and flesh, and with form and image, walks among people and accompanies their life, sometimes hiding from them and sometimes appearing to them. Only in this way can people have a deepening knowledge of God. If God only remained in the flesh, he could not do the work thoroughly. After he works in the flesh for some time and fulfills the ministry the Person in the flesh ought to fulfill, just as Jesus worked in his normal humanity for some time and finished all the work he ought to do, he will be free from the flesh and work with the image of the flesh in the spiritual realm. Maybe you all remember that in “The Way… (5)” there is such a word: “I remember the Father said to me: On earth, just seek to carry out the Father’s will and complete the Father’s commission. The other things have nothing to do with you.” What have you seen from this word? When God comes to earth, he only does the work of divinity. This is what the Spirit in heaven commits to the God incarnated in the flesh. When he comes, he only speaks everywhere, speaking and uttering his voice in different ways and in different positions, mainly with supplying and teaching people as the purpose and as the principle of his working; he pays no attention to things like relationship between people or trivial things in their life, and his main ministry is to speak and utter his voice on behalf of the Spirit. That is, when God’s Spirit practically appears in the flesh, he only supplies people’s life and only releases the truth, and he does not interfere in man’s work, in other words, he does not participate in the work of humanity. He who is man cannot do the work of divinity, and he who is God does not participate in man’s work. Over so many years of God’s doing his work on earth, he has always been using men to do it. Yet they cannot be said to be the incarnated God but can only be said to be men used by God. However, the God of today can, directly in the position of divinity, speak and express the voice of the Spirit and work on behalf of the Spirit. In both cases, it is that God’s Spirit works in the flesh. Why can’t the many men used by God throughout the ages and generations be called God? Today, it is also that God’s Spirit works in the flesh directly, and with Jesus it was also that God’s Spirit worked in the flesh, but the latter two are called God. What are the differences between them? The men used by God throughout the generations all have normal thinking, have normal sense, know the principles of dealing with others and handling things, and have normal human notions. They have all the things a normal man should have. Most of them are remarkably talented and naturally intelligent. When God’s Spirit works on them, he works through their talents, which are all gifts, and he brings their talents into play, utilizing their strengths to serve for God. But God, in substance, has no notions, no thinking, and no mixture of human thoughts, and even lacks what a normal man has. That is to say, he does not even know the principles of dealing with others and handling things. The God of today, who comes to earth, is like this. He works and speaks without the mixture of human thoughts and without human thinking, but he directly expresses the original thoughts of the Spirit and works directly on behalf of God, that is, the Spirit comes forth to work without any mixture of human thoughts. In other words, God, who is incarnated in the flesh, has divinity directly, and he has no human thinking or human notions and does not know human principles of dealing with the world. If the divinity alone worked (that is, God alone worked), God’s work could not be carried out on earth. So when God comes to earth, there have to be several men used by him to cooperate in humanity with his work of divinity, that is, to maintain the work of divinity by the work of humanity. Otherwise, people would have no way to contact the work of divinity directly. Take Jesus and his several disciples as an example. When Jesus was on earth, he abolished the old laws and set down the new commandments and spoke many words. He did all these works in divinity. Afterward, other men like Peter, Paul, and John all worked on the basis of the words Jesus spoke. That is to say, in that age God did the initial work, guided the beginning of the Age of the Grace, that is, guided the new age, abolished the old age, and fulfilled the word: “God is the Beginning and the End.” In other words, it must be on the basis of the work of divinity that men did their work. After Jesus on earth finished the words he ought to speak and accomplished his work, he left people. After that, the men all worked according to the principles in his words and practiced according to the truths he spoke. All these men were ones who worked for Jesus. If Jesus alone worked, no matter how many words he spoke, people still could not contact them, because he worked in divinity and could only speak words of divinity and could not explain them so as to make normal people understand them. So, he had to use the apostles and prophets after him to complement his work in the future. When God is incarnated, he works by this principle: speaking and working through the incarnated flesh to accomplish the work of divinity, and then using several or more men who are after his heart to complement his work, that is, using men who are after his heart to shepherd and water people in humanity, so that all people can have the truth.
When God comes into the flesh, if he only did the work of divinity without several men who are after his heart cooperating with him, people could not understand his will and would have no way to contact him. God has to use the normal men who are after his heart to complete his work and care for and shepherd the churches, so that his work can be within the reach of human thinking and human brain. In other words, God’s work in divinity is “translated” by several men who are after God’s heart, so that it can be opened up, that is, the words of divinity are rendered into words of humanity, so that all people can comprehend and understand them. If the work were not done this way, people could not understand God’s words in divinity, because those who are after God’s heart are few after all and people’s understanding ability is poor. So, only when God is incarnated to work does he work in this way. If the divinity alone worked, people would have no way to know God or contact God, because they do not understand God’s words. Only if these words are explained clearly through men who are after God’s heart can people understand them. But if men who are after God’s heart worked alone in humanity, it could only maintain people’s normal life but could not transform their disposition, and God’s work could not have a new start but could only be playing the same old tune and repeating the same old story. Only if the God incarnated in the flesh finishes the words he ought to speak and the works he ought to do when he is in the flesh and men after him work and experience according to his words, can people be transformed in their life disposition and follow the age. He who works in divinity represents God, whereas those who work in humanity are men used by God. That is to say, the “incarnated God” and the “men used by God” are different in substance. The incarnated God can do the work of divinity, whereas the men used by God cannot do the work of divinity. At the beginning of each age, God’s Spirit speaks personally, starting the new age and bringing people into a new start. After he finishes his words, that is, after God finishes his work of divinity, people all enter into the experience of life under the leading of the men used by God. In this stage, it is also that God brings people into the new age and lets them all have a new start, and then, his work in the flesh will end.
God comes to earth not to perfect his normal humanity, and he comes not to do the work of normal humanity, but just to do the work of divinity in his normal humanity. The normal humanity God speaks about is not the normal humanity as man imagines. According to man’s interpretation, “normal humanity” means having a wife or husband and having children, with which one is proved to be a normal man. But God does not think so. The “normal humanity” he thinks means having normal human thinking, having a normal human life, and being born of a normal man, but his being normal does not include having a wife or husband and having children, which man speaks about. That is, the “normal humanity” God speaks about, in man’s eyes, means having no humanity, almost having no emotions, and seemingly having no physical needs, just like Jesus who had only the outer shell of a normal man and who took a normal human image but who in substance did not have all that a normal man should have. From these, it can be seen that in substance God incarnate does not have a complete normal humanity, that is, he only has part of the things a man should have so as to maintain his normal human rules of life and maintain his normal human sense. But these have nothing to do with the normal humanity man thinks, and they are what the incarnated flesh of God should have. However, some people say that only if the incarnated God has a wife, children, and a family does it mean that he has a normal humanity. They also say that if he does not have these, he is not a normal man. Then let me ask you, “Can God have a wife? Can God have a husband? Can God have children?” Aren’t these fallacies? However, for God to be incarnated in the flesh, he cannot jump out of a rock or drop down from heaven, but can only be born into a family of a normal man. So he has parents and has sisters. This is what the incarnated God should have in his normal humanity. Take Jesus for example. He had parents and had sisters and brothers, which was normal. But if he had had a wife and had children, he would not have had the normal humanity of the incarnated God required by God. If that had been the case, he could not have worked on behalf of the divinity. Because he had no wife and no children but was born of a normal man and born into a family of a normal man, he could do the work of divinity. To put it more plainly, a “normal man” God thinks is a man who is born into a normal family. Only such a man can have the qualifications to do the work of divinity. But if he had a wife, children, or a husband, he could not do the work of divinity. This is because he would only have the normal humanity required by “man” but would not have the normal humanity required by “God.” What God thinks is often greatly different from man’s knowledge, far different from it. In this stage of God’s work, many works counter man’s notions and are greatly different from man’s notions. It can be said that in this stage of work, it is completely that the divinity steps in to work, and the humanity plays a supporting role. This is because God comes to earth to do his work personally and does not allow man to interfere in it. So he is incarnated in the flesh (an incomplete and normal person) personally to do his work. Through the opportunity of his incarnation this time, he brings the new age to people, tells them about the next step of his work, and requires them to practice according to the pathways in his words. Then God’s work in the flesh will end. He will leave people and part with them, and will no longer live in the flesh with a normal humanity, but will leave people to do another part of his work. He will continue to complete his work on earth on this group of people through the men who are after his heart, but in humanity.
The incarnated God cannot always live with people, because God has more works to do. He cannot be restricted by the flesh but will be free from the flesh to do the work he ought to do. However, he will work with the image of the flesh. When God comes to earth, he does not grow into an image a normal man should have before he dies and leaves people. No matter how old his flesh is, he will go and leave people when his work ends. With him, there is no age. He does not count his days according to the age of the Person, but he will end his life in the flesh according to the steps of his work. Maybe some people think that when God comes into the flesh, he has to grow to a certain extent, growing into an adult and getting aged and his flesh no longer functioning, before he leaves. That is only man’s imagination. God does not work that way. He comes into the flesh just to do the work he ought to do, but not to live a normal human life: being born of his parents, growing up, getting married and starting his career, having and raising children, undergoing all the hardships of life, and all other normal human activities. God’s coming to earth is that God’s Spirit is brought to the flesh and comes into the flesh. Yet he does not come to live a normal human life but just to accomplish a work in God’s management plan. After that he will leave people. When he comes into the flesh, his Spirit does not perfect the normal humanity of the flesh, but the divinity directly does the work when the time predetermined by God comes. After he accomplishes the work he ought to do and fulfills his ministry, no matter whether the life of his flesh should end or not, the work of God’s Spirit in this stage will end, and the life of God’s incarnated flesh will also end. That is to say, to what extent the flesh can go and how long he will live on earth are determined by the work of the Spirit, and they have nothing to do with the normal humanity man thinks. Take Jesus for example. He lived in the flesh for thirty-three and a half years, and as far as the life of the flesh was concerned, he should not have died and should not have left. But God’s Spirit did not care so much. When his work ended, the flesh was taken away and disappeared with the Spirit. This is the principle God works by when he is in the flesh. So, strictly speaking, the incarnated God does not have a normal humanity. I still say this word: He comes to earth not to live a normal human life, and he does not begin to work only after having a normal human life. Rather, as long as he is born of a family of a normal man, he can do the work of divinity, without any mixture of human thoughts and without flesh, much less worldly flavor, and without any involvement of human thinking or human notions, much less any relation to human philosophies of life. This is the work God wants to do when he is incarnated and is also the practical significance of his incarnation. When God comes into the flesh, he mainly does a stage of work the flesh ought to do, and he does not go through any trivial processes or undergo the normal human experiences. The work God’s incarnated flesh ought to do does not include going through the normal human experiences. So, God comes into the flesh just to accomplish the work the flesh ought to do, and the other things have nothing to do with him; he does not go through those many trivial processes. After his work ends, the significance of his incarnation will also come to an end. After he finishes this stage of work, the work his flesh ought to do will have ended and the ministry of his flesh will have been fulfilled. However, he cannot always work in the flesh, and he has to move to another place to work, out of the flesh. Only in this way can his work be done thoroughly and better carried out. God works according to his original plan. He knows very well what work he ought to do and what work he has ended. God leads everyone to walk on the way predestined by God, and no one can escape. Only those who follow the guidance of God’s Spirit can enter into rest. Maybe in the future work, it will not be that God leads people by speaking in the flesh, but that the Spirit with form and image leads people to live. Only in this way can people actually touch God and see God and better enter into the reality required by God so as to be perfected by the practical God. This is the work God will accomplish and is what he has planned long ago. You all should see from this the way you ought to walk!
