27. How to Eat and Drink God’s Words and Practice the Truth in Order to Understand the Truth and Enter Reality

Eating and drinking God’s words is to understand the truth and enter the reality of God’s words, and even more so is to gain the truth and attain salvation. This is one of the fundamental truths to be understood regarding faith in God. Why is it that so many people believe in God for many years and yet don’t understand the truth or enter reality? They not only have not achieved transformation in their life disposition, but even their viewpoints on things, outlook on life and values don’t change. Then how can such people possibly escape from Satan’s dark influence and achieve salvation? In looking for the source of this we see that it’s because they don’t like the truth. If people don’t like the truth then even if they appear to be eating and drinking God’s words they are not able to practice or experience them, and they can’t truly accept and obey the judgment and chastisement of God’s words, so there is no way for them to understand the truth and enter reality. The majority of people think that when eating and drinking God’s words all they have to do is grasp the literal meaning of the words and be able to talk about doctrines and this shows they’ve understood the truth and have reality. They believe in such a superficial and self-opinionated manner. The result is that even after believing for many years they still can’t practice the truth or enter the reality of truth in God’s words. They have no knowledge of God’s work to save mankind, they fulfill their duties sloppily, and what they say is full of lies, deceit, and malicious judgments. They are unable to practice the truth or become honest people. If it’s only when God’s work concludes that they see how poor, pitiful, blind they are, that they have obtained nothing, and that they acknowledge they are someone who never really obeyed God’s work or pursued the truth, and that believing in God but not pursuing the truth is like kicking up a fuss over nothing, then these people will absolutely not be saved or perfected, and the only outcome for them is to be eliminated and punished. Having faith in God but not conscientiously eating and drinking God’s words or accepting and practicing the truth is a dangerous thing to do. As is stated in God’s words: “In your lives I see much that you do that is irrelevant to the truth, and so I am expressly asking you to become servants of the truth and not be enslaved by wickedness and ugliness. Do not trample on the truth or defile any corner of the house of God. This is My admonition to you.” So how should we eat and drink God’s words and practice the truth in order to understand the truth and enter reality? This really is the key issue of faith in God that must be resolved.

The source of truth is in God’s words, as is the source of life. God’s words are the source of mankind’s life, and God is the truth, the way, and the life. Faith in God begins with eating and drinking God’s words, and practicing the truth is the effect of eating and drinking God’s words. Entry into life even more starts with eating and drinking God’s words. We can say that whether or not a person can gain truth and life and be saved and perfected depends upon how they eat and drink God’s words and practice the truth. In other words, the most fundamental issue of faith is how to eat and drink God’s words to understand the truth and grasp God’s intentions to the point of knowing God and gaining transformation in life disposition. A lot of people are satisfied with just understanding letters and doctrines. They can talk about them well and they think they believe in God well, so they never get the work of the Holy Spirit. If they only eat and drink God’s words but don’t pursue the truth, then they won’t achieve the fruits of understanding and practicing the truth. It seems on the surface that two types of people are both reading God’s words but the result is not the same. When some people read God’s words, they can seek the truth, grasp God’s intentions and gain the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, and they can understand the truth and enter the reality of God’s words. Some people even memorize God’s words faultlessly but they still don’t gain the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit and after believing in God for many years still don’t understand the truth or enter reality. What on earth is going on here? The key is whether or not the believer truly loves the truth and can accept and obey the judgment and chastisement of God’s words. This is fundamental. For someone who doesn’t love the truth, whatever they do, it is just going through the formality, going through the process, and no results at all will be gained. But when people who love the truth read God’s words they can pray to God and grasp His will, can quiet their hearts before God, and with a great hunger they will ponder God’s words and seek the truth and will gain real knowledge of God’s work. Once they have finished reading God’s words they are able to experience, practice, and gradually understand the truth and, without realizing it, enter into the reality of truth completely. So, two types of people, both eat and drink God’s words but get very different results. The key depends on their attitude toward the truth. We can thus see that how someone eats and drinks God’s words and practices the truth is absolutely crucial to their entry into life, because “a person who attains salvation is one who is willing to practice the truth.”

People who pursue the truth all recognize that eating and drinking God’s words must focus on understanding the truth and entering reality in order to achieve salvation and perfection. This is the basis of experiencing and obeying God’s work. If when eating and drinking God’s words a person can’t understand the truth or enter reality then they are not experiencing God’s work but just fooling around and deceiving themselves. If when eating and drinking God’s words a person can’t recognize their own corrupt reality and the substance of their nature, can’t understand the real significance of God’s judgment and chastisement of corrupt mankind, can’t recognize in the slightest God’s righteous disposition and substance but still continues to talk about letters and doctrines brazenly in order to make others look up to them and worship them, in order to confuse and control God’s chosen people, then they become religious cheats who deceive people and they are walking the path of the antichrist. In fact, if they don’t repent then they are an antichrist through and through. Whenever there is a person who doesn’t possess the reality of truth and deceives and controls people while trying to lead them, isn’t it a case of “If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch”? Aren’t they antichrists that directly resist God? Anyone who doesn’t love the truth and is unable to truly obey the judgment and chastisement of God’s words is walking the path of the antichrist and will eventually become an antichrist. We can thus see that to achieve salvation and perfection through faith, it is of paramount importance to understand how to eat and drink God’s words and practice the truth. So, how should we eat and drink God’s words in order to understand the truth and enter reality? First, we must understand the principles governing the eating and drinking of God’s words, and the results that we must achieve. The seven main principles governing the eating and drinking of God’s words are outlined as follows:

1. Eating and drinking God’s words must not be limited to understanding the literal meaning of the words and one must seek the reality of truth.

2. Eating and drinking God’s words must involve an understanding of the background to God’s words and of God’s will. The true meaning of the words will thus come more easily.

3. Eating and drinking God’s words must include recognition of one’s own corrupt reality and the substance of their nature from God’s words. They must be able to see their deficiencies and the depth of their pitifulness.

4. Eating and drinking God’s words must focus on understanding of what requirements God sets for people, that is, what His will is, of how to implement God’s words and of what people should have.

5. Eating and drinking God’s words must include the knowledge of God’s disposition and what He has and is as represented by His words, which is what knowledge of God one should possess.

6. Eating and drinking God’s words must focus on seeking the knowledge of the truth in God’s words and must include the understanding of the significance of the truth for corrupt mankind.

7. Eating and drinking God’s words must include an understanding of principles of practice for entering the truth and which realities of truth one should enter to have the likeness of a true human being.

These are the seven main principles governing the eating and drinking of God’s words and are also the seven benchmarks that must be attained when eating and drinking God’s words. Although God’s chosen people are all generally willing to try hard to pursue the truth, they must know that pursuing the truth begins with eating and drinking God’s words. By strictly abiding by the seven principles when eating and drinking God’s words it is much easier to achieve real understanding of truth and entry into reality. Regardless of how many principles for eating and drinking God’s words that you can know and practice, as long as you make an effort to abide by these seven principles and benchmarks then you will gain results from eating and drinking God’s words and it will definitely be much easier to enter the reality of truth. Because as long as in God’s words you can truly understand the truth and recognize the substance of righteousness and light in the truth, then you will definitely be able to self-reflect and know yourself and see that you have obtained nothing. Then you will surely focus on pursuing entry to the reality of truth. Whenever a pursuer of truth sees their own deficiencies and the depth of their pitifulness they always pursue to enter the reality of truth. So those who really understand the truth are all able to recognize that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, and that the truth is the life reality that they should possess. Because of this they all focus on entering the reality of truth. Anyone who doesn’t possess the reality of truth is someone who doesn’t really understand the truth. Of course, entering the reality of truth starts from superficial levels and gradually gets deeper, so it’s not the case that practicing the truth once will take you fully into reality. Every truth must be experienced for some years, sometimes decades. So, entering the reality of truth gradually gets deeper, and when a believer has really entered then God’s words become their life, become the basis of their existence, and this is experiencing God’s work to the point of attaining salvation and perfection.

Eating and drinking God’s words to achieve understanding of truths and entry into reality firstly involves the correct attitude toward God’s words. How the created should regard the words of the Creator, this involves not only the issue of whether or not the believer has conscience and rationality, but also the issue of their substance and disposition. People who possess humanity and rationality will certainly recognize that God’s words are the absolute truth, and that whether or not they are in line with human notions, whether people can understand or fathom them, God’s words are eternally the truth, and this is absolutely always the case. Mankind was created by God, and everything that everyone has comes from God, and only the Lord of Creation best comprehends and has the best grasp on the created. The truths and the life that the created mankind should possess, and the path every human being takes, are all dominated by God. Only the incarnate God is the truth, the way, and the life. So every word that the Lord of Creation says to created mankind is, without doubt, the paramount maxim of the highest significance and value, and these words are all the immutable truths. The created should accept and obey them with awe, seek truths, and accept truths as their life reality in order to comport with God’s will. Corrupt mankind has a satanic nature and is full of Satan’s disposition. So people who can genuinely love and accept truths are a very small minority. Apparently, due to the depth of mankind’s corruption, very few of them can accept God’s words and truths as their lives. The vast majority of people follow mundane trends without affection for the truth. Even if they reluctantly come to believe in God, they are still unwilling to seek or gain the truth from God’s words. They just waste time investigating God’s words and exploring ways to get blessings and make deals with God from God’s words. Particularly, the demonic types of the antichrist that belong to Satan who are always trying to find flaws in God’s words, and always snooping on His movements and intentions in order to disrupt or undermine God’s work and humiliate Him. When faced with God’s words, every type of human being will expose themselves fully. God’s words are so revealing. This is why the created must be equipped with conscience and rationality when eating and drinking God’s words. The created must first completely believe that God’s words are all truths, are absolutely correct, and are the reality of truths that God’s chosen people must enter. Then, they should practice and experience them so as to be able to recognize and ascertain the fact that God’s words are all truths. But believing in and admitting that God’s words are all truths is not the same as understanding these truths: They must experience God’s words to a degree of true knowledge, and fully confirm that God’s words are the truths and reality. Only this is the real process of experiencing and knowing God’s words, understanding truths, and knowing truths. Without practical experience of God’s words there can be no real knowledge of them. Some foolish people think that just by believing that God’s words are truths, then they understand truths. But they are unable to convey any real knowledge gained from experience and even less able to solve their own existing problems. This is a typical expression of lacking the reality of truths. The genuine understanding of truths is achieved through their experience and practice of God’s words. Eating and drinking God’s words must be built on the foundation of the acknowledgment and belief that God’s words are absolutely the truth, and then through practicing and experiencing them gaining the illumination of the Holy Spirit to produce real knowledge. When people really understand truths, they are able to feel that God’s words are all truths and are highly practical. Only through practicing truths and experiencing God’s words to this degree can the reality of the truth really be entered. Anybody who engages in empty talk about God’s words is someone who lacks the reality of the truth. People who don’t experience and practice God’s words will never gain truths. Obeying God’s work is certainly not an easy thing, and anyone who truly believes in God, who can accept and obey the judgment and chastisement of God’s words and pursue truths is somebody who will be saved. We have seen people who accept God’s words and obey the judgment and chastisement of God’s words gradually—almost without realizing it—gain understanding of truths and enter reality. Through experiencing God’s work they are gradually able to gain real knowledge of God and feel more and more that God is worthy of love and respect and that the truth is precious. Their relationship with God becomes ever more normal, and they can worship God and pray to God with heart and honesty. Anyone who truly pursues the truth is already on the path to salvation and perfection and is, to differing degrees, entering the reality of the truth and gradually becoming compatible with God. Anyone who is merely investigating or resisting God’s words will be exposed more and more to have the devilish nature of the antichrists, which is their true form being revealed. God’s words have revealed everyone and put each with their own kind. Now the more God’s chosen people experience God’s work, the more they feel that God’s words reveal God’s almightiness and wisdom and completely bear witness to God’s righteous disposition. It can thus be seen that the way of eating and drinking God’s words and practicing truths is of paramount importance for God’s chosen people in entering life.

Eating and drinking God’s words is for understanding and gaining truths. While eating and drinking God’s words, a person who can accept God’s judgment and chastisement, seek the truth, enter the reality of truth, can thus truly obey God’s work and be able to gain the illumination and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit and gradually come to understand the truth, know themselves, and achieve true repentance. When a person can practice truths and obey God and have reality, they are already on the path to salvation and perfection. When a person experiences the judgment and chastisement in God’s words and is pruned and dealt with to the point that they truly know their own corrupt reality and the substance of their nature, then they start to focus on pursuing truths and obeying God’s work, and it becomes easy for them to understand truths and enter reality. Entering the reality of God’s words is built upon the foundation of understanding and practicing truths. Anyone who doesn’t practice truths doesn’t really understand truths and won’t be able to enter the reality of truths. Only people who really understand truths can correctly practice truths and enter reality. But understanding truths is not a simple matter, and those who talk a lot of letters and doctrines are absolutely not people who understand truths. Truly understanding truths involves knowing how to eat and drink God’s words. The created must believe that the words of the Lord of Creation are truths. On this basis, praying to God to seek truths is a sincere way of communing with Him and it then becomes easy to gain the illumination and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. Honest people never doubt that God’s words are the truth, so no matter how much or little they understand of them they always accept and practice them. Thus after experiencing God’s words for a long period of time, they will gain experience and knowledge of the truths in God’s words, and when they have the knowledge of their personal experience they are not far from understanding of truths. This is because people who love truths will always be willing to strive for the reality of truths. They will practice the right way to safeguard God’s work. They will practice the right way to benefit God’s chosen people. They will practice the right way to feel at peace with their conscience. They will practice the right way to get positive results and win the support and approval of God’s chosen people. The more they practice entering the reality of truths, the more they will feel the presence of God and the illumination and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. The more they practice in this way, the clearer their path forward will become. This is practical training for practicing truths. The more people practice truths, the more enjoyment and comfort they will feel in their hearts, the fairer and more just their actions will become, and the more intense their feelings of conscience and sense of righteousness will be. The less selfish people become and the more frank and aboveboard they become, the more they feel calm and steady in their hearts, which gives them a feeling of true peace and happiness, and the more normal their relationship with God becomes. They completely live before God and in the light of God’s countenance. Practicing truths in this way will naturally result in meeting God’s expectations. This is the path to practicing truths and entering reality. With understanding of truths and gradually deeper experiences, believers will, almost without realizing it, enter the reality of truths and their conscience will have clear confirmation. Practicing truths is something that people with normal humanity are willing to do, and the more they practice, the more normal their humanity becomes, and the more they feel that they have the semblance of a real human being and their being man is a success. People who come to really understand truths in this way will naturally discover that truths are truly precious and adorable. When believers get to the point of being able to really practice and use truths, they discover the true value and significance of them. When practicing truths, they live in the light and they become more aboveboard and upstanding and recognize more that truths ought to be the reality of everyone’s life. This is when they come to feel that truths are the reality of the life of true mankind, and know more and more the meaning of “Christ is the truth, the way, and the life” and thus grasp the real meaning of life. Anyone who has entered the reality of truths is naturally able to speak about the knowledge of the experience of the reality of the truths, and is able to fellowship about the principles of practice and the way forward in practicing truths. This is because the real knowledge of truths is gained from experience, which is something that can’t be imagined as people’s imaginations are not real. Only what is experienced is real knowledge and the reality of truths. Practicing truths is first and foremost a matter of correct understanding and genuine knowledge of God’s words, with conscience in the role of supervisor. This is the way to easily gain the work of the Holy Spirit. Training in practicing truths without a functioning conscience won’t work. Without conscience, a person is not a true human being but a beast in human attire. If you can practice the truth conscientiously, you will be blessed by God as this is the foundation of practicing the truth. If you can also have the illumination and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, then your practicing truths will be a success. When people live out the likeness of a true human being, they have the reality of truths. Truths really are the reality of life that the likeness of the true human being possesses. When someone has experienced this to a certain degree, then they know that the substance of truths is the reality that normal humanity lives out. When people possess the reality of truths, then they live out the likeness of a true human being. We can thus see that practicing truths often is the path to understanding truths and entering reality.

How we should eat and drink God’s words to accord with God’s will also involves some truths that we should seek. Where we ought to seek truths there will be God’s will and God’s requirements present. In eating and drinking God’s words we should first see clearly and understand what the core of God’s work is, where this core is in God’s words from beginning to end, and which parts of God’s words are the center, the core, of God’s work of the last days. These should be common knowledge for God’s chosen people that they must understand thoroughly. A lot of people violate God’s will when eating and drinking God’s words by neglecting the most important parts to life entry, which are the words related to God’s judgment and chastisement of mankind’s corrupt substance. Actually, this is deviating from God’s work of judgment and chastisement, and in essence is like going one’s own erroneous way. It’s especially common for some people to look for ways to gain rewards from God’s words. They have the delusional idea that they can avoid God’s judgment and chastisement but still have the status of the firstborn sons and gain the crown. They attempt to employ opportunist methods to muddle their way into God’s kingdom, but inevitably get revealed as antichrists and are eliminated and punished. There really are truths that can be sought about how to eat and drink God’s words, and all those antichrists and evil people who were eliminated never in the slightest abided by the principles laid out by God’s house for mainly eating and drinking the 119 chapters of God’s words. Instead they opportunistically examined the part of God’s words known as Utterances and Testimonies of Christ in the Beginning to dig up something mysterious in order to gain blessings. They even twisted and intentionally misinterpreted God’s words to bear witness to their being the firstborn sons and those used by the Holy Spirit, calling themselves the perfected “firstfruits” and pretending to be sent by God so that God’s chosen people would listen to them and follow them. These fraudsters did not accept God’s judgment and chastisement and totally refused to be pruned or dealt with. They came up with all sorts of evil schemes to disrupt and destroy God’s work but were still eventually revealed and eliminated. These people are all full of their own cleverness and deserve everything they get. So, we can see that anyone who doesn’t pursue truths is arrogant to the point of not submitting to anyone, and by sticking to their own deviant path and doing evil they bring ruin on themselves. The way people eat and drink God’s words reveals what they are, and various kinds of antichrists, evil people, evil spirits, and absurd fools who hate truths and investigate God’s words have all been revealed by God’s words and eliminated. There were some especially cunning and treacherous antichrists demons who not only totally refused the judgment and chastisement in God’s words and the truths but also asserted that God’s house has altered God’s words and that the work of God’s house is all done by man. They said that God’s chosen people believe in and follow a person, and they completely denied the work of the Holy Spirit in the leadership and rule and the almightiness and wisdom in God’s words that accomplish everything. This was a very cunning, satanic scheme of the antichrist demons to disrupt and damage God’s work by making God’s chosen people have doubts about or abandon God’s words, thus losing the golden opportunity for salvation. However, God’s chosen people eventually recognized their evil features one by one, and saw what they really were. God’s chosen people have long ascertained that Christ is the practical God who is incarnated and who is the Word appearing in the flesh, and they will loyally obey Him until death. They will also fully obey and accept the man used by the Holy Spirit who leads God’s chosen people to enter the reality of truths, and the firm resolve of God’s chosen people can’t be changed by anyone. Conspiracies and cunning schemes that belong to evil satanic forces and are aimed at disrupting or preventing God’s chosen people from understanding truths and entering reality through eating and drinking God’s words will never succeed. Only those who earnestly eat and drink God’s words and pursue truths are truly God’s chosen people. All those who don’t earnestly eat and drink God’s words and pursue truths are unbelievers or false believers who have already lost the work of the Holy Spirit and have been revealed and eliminated. God’s chosen people must see this clearly.

For God’s chosen people to understand truths and enter reality they must first focus on understanding truths for self-knowledge while eating and drinking God’s words. Solving their own practical problems is also crucial to entering the reality of truths. Knowing oneself is achieved by frequently engaging in self-reflection to resolve one’s own practical problems. If while eating and drinking God’s words you can’t reach an understanding of truths then you won’t be able to solve the problems of your own corruption and you’ll never truly know the reality of your corruption and the substance of your nature. It will be impossible for you to truly repent, and therefore you will never escape Satan’s influence and be saved. So the key to attaining salvation and perfection lies in how a believer eats and drinks God’s word and whether or not they really pursue truths. Anyone who can’t gain truths from God’s words won’t be able to resolve the problem of their corruption nor gain truths and life from God’s words. Anyone who truly pursues truths will achieve understanding of truths and knowledge of God’s words when eating and drinking God’s words. They will also resolve the problem of their corruption and gain truths as life. Anyone who can understand truths and enter reality will be able to achieve the following seven beneficial results from eating and drinking God’s words:

1. Through eating and drinking God’s words they will be able to be quiet in the presence of God and achieve pure understanding and real knowledge of truths.

2. They will truly understand and know the substance of truths, their perspective on things will be transformed, and they will gradually establish a proper outlook on life and correct values.

3. They will use God’s words to frequently self-reflect and recognize their own corrupt reality and the substance of their nature, thus gradually eliminating their arrogance and self-righteousness.

4. No matter what problems they encounter they will be able to seek and practice truths and use truths to solve their problems.

5. In the truths that they understand they will know God’s disposition and what He has and is and see His almightiness and wisdom.

6. They will be able to accept truths as their life and live by God’s words, thus achieving transformation in life disposition and becoming a witness to God.

7. Their humanity will become more and more normal and they will live out the semblance of a true human being and can obey and worship God forever.

If someone eats and drinks God’s words for a few years to the point of understanding many truths they will naturally be able to achieve the seven results listed above. These are the fruits of eating and drinking God’s words and practicing truths and are the harvest certain to be reaped from experiencing God’s work. For anyone who truly pursues truths, if they eat and drink God’s words for some years then they will reap the rewards of not only having a foundation in truths but also walking on the path of salvation and perfection. All these are the results of eating and drinking God’s words, and achieving them depends upon how truths are sought and practiced while eating and drinking God’s words. If a believer maintains faith in God for ten or eight years in this way, they can gain truths to live by and effect transformation of life disposition thus living out the likeness of a true human being; then their faith in God is a success. Regardless of how much suffering we undergo or the price we have to pay, it’s all worth it. People should be eternally grateful to God and spend their lives repaying His love.

People who really understand truths also know the value and significance of gaining truths. Their drive to pursue truths will get greater and greater, and they will be willing to pay any price in order to gain them. In order to truly understand truths and enter reality believers must gain the work of the Holy Spirit. This is absolutely fundamental. So it then becomes imperative to focus on resolving any major issues that obstruct the work of the Holy Spirit and resolving the problem of growing arrogant and deviating from the right path. The believers must also get rid of any hindrances in their relationship to God. If these practical issues are not resolved then the Holy Spirit will be unable to do His work. A lot of people fail in their belief in God because they lose the work of the Holy Spirit. God is righteous and faithful and doesn’t hold prejudices against anyone: As long as someone can accept and pursue truths, and walk the right path, then they will enjoy the work of the Holy Spirit. God searches people’s hearts and minds, and if they are unable to accept truths and obey God’s work then they won’t attain salvation, and if they can even refuse and hate truths and oppose God, they will create their own destruction. The satanic nature of corrupt mankind is full of Satan’s dispositions, in other words, full of things that resist God. This is the source of mankind’s resistance to God. So it’s fair to say that corrupt mankind’s relationship with God involves many practical issues that need to be resolved. Those issues that need to be resolved particularly quickly are ones that hinder the work of the Holy Spirit or cause people to lose the work of the Holy Spirit and issues of resistance to God. If not resolved, they will be most likely to lose the work of the Holy Spirit and, in serious cases, they could lose His work forever. Therefore, facing the great enemy isn’t a matter to be taken lightly. Most importantly, you must seek truths to rapidly resolve problems in order to restore normal relations with God and allow the work of the Holy Spirit to progress unobstructed. When, during life’s experiences, people encounter difficulties or temptations to the point of losing the work of the Holy Spirit, if they don’t immediately seek and practice truths to resolve their own problems and remove the obstacles to the Holy Spirit’s work, then they’ll be unable to restore normal relations with God. So most problems should be resolved within a few days, and major problems should be sorted out within one or two months so that progress in life is not delayed. If people don’t have a heart that fears God and don’t care whether or not they have the work of the Holy Spirit and can’t be bothered to resolve problems soon after they arise, then this kind of person is not truly experiencing and obeying God’s work or pursuing truths. Anybody who doesn’t place importance on maintaining a normal relationship with God doesn’t have a place for God in their heart, doesn’t have true faith in God, and especially doesn’t possess a heart that fears God. These are the people who don’t pursue truths and will never enter the reality of the truth. Whether or not a person can gain the work of the Holy Spirit is an extremely important issue. We will now list the twelve manifestations that will cause people to fail to gain the work of the Holy Spirit and thus walk the path of the antichrists:

1. not liking truths and not being able to accept any of them. Such people believe in God just to gain blessings, and so won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

2. always sticking to religious notions and actions and generally being a stickler for the rules. Such people don’t practice truths, and so won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

3. talking a lot about letters and doctrines without practicing truths. Such people are self-opinionated and like to show off, so they won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

4. knowing one’s duties but not fulfilling them, and not practicing truths whatsoever. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

5. giving the appearance of eating and drinking God’s words but not pursuing truths, and not being able to self-reflect and know oneself. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

6. being totally unable to accept being pruned and dealt with, not repenting after having transgressions but making excuses instead, and not obeying anybody. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

7. making absurd interpretations of God’s words and distorting the truth, and always defending one’s own reasoning and refusing to accept truths. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

8. doubting that God’s words are the truth and so refusing to accept God’s judgment and chastisement or obey God’s work. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

9. enjoying listening to and following antichrists and evil people, and being willing to be the minions and accomplices of these demons. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

10. going one’s own deviant way and yet insisting that one is following God’s will and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

11. refusing to submit to the leadership and shepherding of the man used by the Holy Spirit and saying that only God should be obeyed, not people. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit;

12. not walking on the path of pursuing truths but instead seeking fame, wealth and status in order to control others and set up independent kingdoms. Such people won’t gain the work of the Holy Spirit.

There are many other examples that we won’t talk about in detail here, but the practical problems outlined above are the ones that most people have to differing degrees. These obstacles all seriously affect their entry into the reality of truth. These obstacles cause people to have abnormal relationships with God and cause them to rebel against God, resist God, completely lose the work of the Holy Spirit, and eventually be eliminated. It’s like when some people are abandoned and expelled from the church because they do all kinds of evil, but still refuse to submit and resist strenuously. There is not a shred of hope of salvation for them. If these practical issues are not resolved then all the empty theories and doctrines that someone spouts will prove useless, and no matter how strong their wishes or hopes they cannot fulfill them. If these practical problems are not resolved the Holy Spirit will not work on them and nobody will be able to guide them. So in order to understand truths and enter reality people must first resolve all of the practical issues within themselves that can cause them to lose the work of the Holy Spirit. Getting rid of the obstacles and difficulties to enter the reality of truths leads to a normalization of people’s relationship with God and pursuing truths becomes smooth and unimpeded. Only by getting rid of these stumbling blocks can believers get on the right track for faith in God and start walking the path to salvation and perfection.

Whether or not a person can gain the work of the Holy Spirit depends mostly upon whether their relationship with God is normal. God’s work is to save and perfect people, and the purpose of corrupt mankind’s faith in God is to attain salvation. So people must undergo God’s judgment and chastisement and obey God’s work. This is the only road to salvation. No matter how God judges, chastises, prunes, deals with, tests and refines a person it is all to save them and is part of God’s love. Corrupt mankind must obey God: This is an inviolable law of Heaven. A normal relationship between a person and God can only be built on the foundations of submission to God’s work, and anyone who is unable to obey God’s work won’t have a normal relationship with God. A normal relationship means absolutely listening to what God says and obeying it. Actually, faith in God means believing in, relying on, and obeying God. People who resist and oppose God lose all chance of a normal relationship with Him and even become one of God’s enemies. All of the antichrists and evildoers are God’s enemies, and so God only uses punishment and annihilation to deal with them. A person who truly believes in God with all their heart will admit and accept the fact that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life and will totally submit to God’s work. The relationship of this kind of person with God is a normal one of trust, acceptance, and absolute submission. As long as people have a normal relationship with God then they’ll have the work of the Holy Spirit, but if there is an obstacle, separation, or resistance in the relationship then the work of the Holy Spirit will be lost. When people are unable to obey God’s work and can’t move forward it means that they have already lost the work of the Holy Spirit. When people are completely unable to accept truths, they have already lost the work of the Holy Spirit. When people do evil things that oppose truths, and resist God it means that they have already lost the work of the Holy Spirit. All those who lose the work of the Holy Spirit do not have a normal relationship with God; if someone is seen to have the work of the Holy Spirit it shows that they have a normal relationship with God. We acknowledge that people have a satanic nature within them and that they reveal Satan’s disposition and that’s why we must often pray, and especially eat and drink God’s words and accept the truth. If we don’t then it will be very easy for us to rebel against God, resist God, and end up being far away from Him. Because corrupt mankind is under the dominion and control of their satanic nature, everyone has Satan’s disposition, and even more all the preferences of the flesh, the extravagant desires and objectives act as hindrances to getting closer to God and submitting to Him, that’s why it’s so difficult for people to maintain a normal relationship with God. Only by relying on frequently eating and drinking God’s words, and seeking and practicing truths, can it be guaranteed that people’s life will continue to grow and they’ll progress along the path to perfection. If people have resistance to God in their hearts, oppose God, separate from Him, and are too slow in using truths to resolve their issues, and are unable to betray their flesh and practice truths, then obstacles to their relationship with God will arise, the relationship will be broken, and they will also lose the work of the Holy Spirit. If the relationship is not restored for a long time then the believers will be taken by Satan and will end up in Satan’s camp again. For example, some people are restricted by their marriage or family and are unable to fulfill their duties or practice truths and so lose the work of the Holy Spirit; some people try to fool God by fulfilling their duties perfunctorily and cannot practice truths and so lose the work of the Holy Spirit; some people go their own deviant way and seek fame, wealth and status and thus lose the work of the Holy Spirit; some people don’t pursue truths but instead hunger after fame, wealth and vanity, never repenting, and they break their relationship with God and thus lose the work of the Holy Spirit; some people become God’s enemies by walking the path of the antichrists, not submitting to Him, and resisting and opposing Him and so lose the work of the Holy Spirit forever. The failures of these people provide us with a very useful lesson, and totally verify these words of God’s: “Establishing a Proper Relationship With God Is Very Important.” Any obstacle that delays our progress in life and hinders our normal communication with God must be resolved and removed quickly, otherwise not only will our life progress be affected but, in serious cases, we could lose the work of the Holy Spirit. People who complain or have the intention to betray God are in even more danger: They will be cast aside to await being revealed, eliminated and handed over to Satan. These are lessons that must be fully absorbed. Believers in God should walk the path of pursuing truths and being perfected; they absolutely should not walk the path of the antichrists and Judas, the betrayer of God. Believers in God should pursue truths, fulfill their duties, and prepare good deeds, and should absolutely never do evil and resist God. This is an unalterable law of nature. God searches people’s hearts and minds and whether or not people have the work of the Holy Spirit is what reveals the substance of their nature and the path they are taking the most. Believers in God should understand an important fact: If the Holy Spirit’s work is not present then no matter how much they struggle they will not attain salvation. All those antichrists and evildoers who misbehave and create untold evil things in our churches, who insanely resist and oppose God, are digging their own graves. Anyone who insanely resists God and opposes Him will have a hard time in life and is certain to die.

Practicing truths is essential for people to understand truths and enter reality. If people don’t practice truths they will never be able to understand truths, and it’s only through practicing truths that they can gradually understand truths and enter reality. Practicing truths is the key to gaining the work of the Holy Spirit and normalizing the relationship with God. The more believers practice truths the more they will get the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit. This is the achievement of understanding truths and entering reality, and it could be said that practicing truths is the only route to understanding truths and entering reality. When you understand a bit of the truths then you should practice it, and you should always practice as much as you understand and not wait until you understand truths completely before starting to practice. As you practice truths you will begin to understand the substance of these truths, and this is the process of understanding them. For example, when we practice honesty we start from practicing entry into a little of this truth that we first understand, and deepen our knowledge of the truth of being honest during this process. The various aspects of the reality of this truth will then become clearer and clearer to us and our practice of it will get more pragmatic and accurate with experience until we eventually achieve understanding of it and entry to reality. This is the real process of entering the reality of truths through experiencing God’s words and practicing truths. People who understand truths a little but don’t practice them will never be able to go deeper into them, and will never achieve real understanding of truths and entry to reality. Anyone who has had experience of life is able to confirm this fact. Practicing truths starts from just understanding a little, and more and more experience of them eventually leads to understanding of the substance of truths and only then is there complete entry into the reality of the truth. Understanding, practice, and knowledge have to go hand-in-hand in order to gradually achieve complete entry to the reality of the truth. Understanding truths comes from tirelessly practicing truths and gradually deepening one’s experience of them. There is enough in every truth for believers to practice for a number of years. For example, the truth regarding being honest should be practiced for 5-8 years; otherwise the required standard of honesty won’t be obtained. The truth regarding submission to God is the same, as is the truth about fulfilling one’s duties of service to God. Every truth must be experienced and practiced for at least a few years in order to enter the reality of the truth. If believers cannot practice truths then they are just paying lip service to the idea of submission to God; the amount that believers practice truth is the amount that they obey God. So, the more the practice, the more the obedience, and eventually the believers will obey and satisfy God in terms of God’s requirements. They will be able to stand witness, and during the most crucial moments they will stand by God and be loyal to the end. When people are able to fully follow God’s will it means they are able to truly submit to God, but we’re talking about 8-10 years of practice to achieve this. So we can see that practicing truths and entering the reality of truths are inseparable and of equal importance, and that only by frequently practicing truths can the reality of truths be entered. People who are unable to practice truths will never be able to enter the reality of truths.

What does practicing truths entail? Speaking precisely, it means practicing in accordance with God’s words. Speaking specifically, this means that for every truth we practice as much as we understand. As long as our hearts confirm that the practice accords with the truths then that’s how we practice; as long as our conscience confirms that the practice accords with the truths then that’s how we practice. This is the meaning of practicing truths, and is the correct way for people to do their best and obey the will of Heaven. In fact, the significance of practicing truths lies in fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of the created, which means behaving as a normal person should and living out the semblance of a true human being. This is the same as conducting ourselves and living out the image of a human being as the Lord of Creation wants us to. This is the meaning of practicing truths. Practicing truths means living out the semblance of true human beings in accordance with the reality of truths that God requires mankind to possess, and also taking God’s words as the highest aphorisms for our lives. This is the meaning of practicing truths, and anyone who can practice many truths and rely totally on God’s words is living a life that has true meaning.

We should now be very clear about how to practice truths in accordance with God’s will, but how to practice them in real life is the critical issue in terms of entry to life. The majority of people think that understanding truths is the same as gaining reality, but this is wrong. Understanding truths is one thing; practicing truths is another. Understanding truths doesn’t represent entry to reality; only practicing truths represents entry to reality. There is a big gap between understanding truths and practicing truths correctly to become someone who is truly obedient to God. This includes the whole real process of going from understanding truths to transformation in viewpoint and life disposition, and especially includes the real process of going from the superficial knowledge of truths to understanding the substance of truths. When people go from understanding truths to practicing truths there is a practical difficulty that has to be overcome, which is whether or not in their heart they can truly accept truths and truly obey God. This is a key issue that must be clearly understood. Just talking about doctrines or whatever is of no use: The most urgent thing is to resolve the issue. Understanding truths is much easier to do than practicing truths, and to practice truths properly certain conditions must be met. These include being able to love truths, submitting to God, and sometimes paying the price and suffering a little. So understanding truths doesn’t mean loving truths, and it certainly doesn’t represent practicing truths or submitting to God. Only people who practice truths are people who truly love and pursue truths, and people who don’t often practice truths don’t truly love or pursue truths. Everyone seems to understand quite a few truths in their hearts but how many of them are they able to truly put into practice? Why are there so many truths that people are unable to put into practice? This exposes a problem of people’s substance, the problem of human nature and disposition. People who don’t like truths find it difficult to practice truths, and we have heard many people say, “I understand all the truths but just can’t put them into practice.” This is the problem of not loving the truths, and of their satanic disposition being too strong and their not being able to obey truths. No one should judge others just by listening to how well they can talk in line with the truths. Much more important is whether or not they can practice truths, as only those who practice truths are people who are able to enter the reality of truths and attain salvation and perfection. Anyone who says that they understand all the truths but don’t practice them is just pretending to be good. In fact, they refuse and hate truths, are full of arrogance, and obey nobody. Anyone who doesn’t admit that God’s words are truths and doesn’t accept or practice truths is an unbeliever. These people will never achieve salvation and perfection.

Whether or not people are able to practice truths is the most important issue when it comes to entry to life. It’s not normal for people to eat and drink God’s words and not practice truths, and we can say for sure that eating and drinking God’s words like this means they aren’t accepting or pursuing truths but instead are investigating and doubting God’s words. They are just muddling through or going through the motions. Believers who love truths will understand some of them after a few years of eating and drinking God’s words, and will have started to accept and practice some truths. When people have begun to understand and practice truths through eating and drinking God’s words then they have begun to enter reality. People who can often practice truths are people who are really pursuing truths. There are many people who understand all of the truths and are of caliber and clearly very intelligent, but they don’t practice truths. These are definitely people who don’t love truths. There are other people who acknowledge and believe that God’s words are truths but are still unable to practice them. This shows that these people don’t really understand and know truths and thus they are often restricted by other people, matters, and things. They are often passive, complain a lot about God, and may even have conceptions against God and resist God. Even if they perform some duties they will still be unable to meet the standard, will never show any obvious achievement, and no matter what work they do it never convinces anyone or wins their praise. This kind of person—if they never practice truths—essentially doesn’t love truths and will have to be afflicted during the catastrophe. People who don’t love truths definitely have no humanity, and if people don’t love truths in their hearts they will never be able to practice them. Do evil people act in an open and aboveboard manner? Do deceitful people behave in the same way that honest people do? Those who like to prattle about letters and doctrines without practicing truths are all hypocrites. They are despicable and they certainly don’t understand truths. Only people who practice truths really understand truths and love them. Do people who love truths often get restricted by other people, matters, and things when practicing them? Don’t they always do their jobs well? Don’t those who really practice truths always convince God’s chosen people and win their praise? Anyone who doesn’t practice truths is definitely someone who doesn’t pursue truths, and that’s for sure. People who truly understand truths can naturally put them into practice, or at least in normal circumstances will be able to practice some truths. If the truth isn’t clear to them they will seek the truth, and if they discover someone who speaks according to the truth they will listen to and obey them. That’s because anyone who seeks truths will definitely be able to accept truths and fully submit to them. Anyone who understands truths would never be willing to violate them, and certainly wouldn’t oppose them. If such believers violated the truths intentionally they would be thrown into spiritual turmoil, and that’s why people who understand truths are very clear in their hearts and minds about whether or not they are practicing truths. Anyone who practices truths is able to obey God and do things and fulfill their duties according to God’s requirements. Of course, there is difference that arises from a small and a big stature, and the degree to which a person can practice truths depends directly on the depth of their experience with God’s words. But if they are able to practice truths, they will surely have the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, and they will understand truths and practice them correctly more and more. People like this will eventually become somebody who truly obeys God. All those who practice truths know how to protect God’s work, how to do things in a way that benefits the church’s work and God’s chosen people, and how to do things in accordance with God’s demands. For people who understand truths, all this is as clear in their hearts and minds as the finest crystal. But for those who don’t practice truths darkness pervades their hearts and nothing is clear to them, and whenever they encounter problems their minds become foggy. Those who don’t practice truths don’t have the work of the Holy Spirit and will never have the reality of the truth. Only those who practice truths can enter the reality of the truth and achieve salvation and perfection.

So how on earth do you determine if someone is really practicing truths or not? First you should understand that only people who have hearts that fear God will practice truths. People who don’t have hearts that fear God definitely won’t practice truths. Even if they look and act like people who wouldn’t violate truths that doesn’t mean they practice them. There are some people who give the appearance of doing their duties and generally doing good, but their hearts are adulterated with personal objectives and in essence they are just going through the motions and are trying to confuse and deceive God’s chosen people. Some of them go as far as to disrupt or disturb God’s work, and this is opposing God. People who don’t have truths are all hypocrites, just like the Pharisees who stuck to the rules, went through the formalities, and were always willing to compromise to cover up their violations of, and opposition to, the truth. People who understand truths never just stick to the rules, go through the formalities, and make compromises, and those who do definitely don’t understand truths. People who have hearts that fear God and pursue truths will be told by their conscience that this is a wrong way to practice truths and will quickly seek truths to correct their mistake. Violating truths usually manifests in the following three ways:

1. by rigidly sticking to rules and formalities. Because of their conceptions and imaginings, such people think they are practicing truths by abiding by the rules and never committing sins;

2. by making compromises and engaging in pretense. Such people always take the middle path in their practice, and always try to be nice and inoffensive and try not to commit sins;

3. by adopting methods that directly oppose the truth. They adopt the method of resisting God by disrupting and disturbing the work of God in order to achieve personal objectives and desires.

The above three methods of pretending to be good and cheating God are all manifestations of rebellion against, and opposition to, God. All of the antichrists, evildoers, deceitful people, and all others who don’t love truths frequently adopt these methods, but they consider themselves as practicing truths. In essence they are all hypocrites, and new believers often can’t discern them. So it’s easy for new believers to accept these false practices, become confused, and be ensnared and cheated. People who understand truths know how to discern these methods of false goodness and opposition to God and thus don’t fall into traps and get cheated. Of course, when people don’t really understand truths they’ll practice like this and this is a process that must be gone through, but once they truly understand truths they are able to naturally discern these erroneous and hypocritical practices. Practicing truths and entering reality is a gradual process of understanding truths, and is a process that involves transformations in viewpoints and life disposition, and so it’s normal for some deviations and errors to occur along the way. But people who pursue truths will constantly correct their errors and deviations in order to enter the reality of the truth. Determining whether or not someone is practicing truths is not an easy matter. Practicing truths requires a heart that fears God and is at least built upon the foundation of a good conscience. Duties must be fulfilled and people treated properly according to the principles for practicing truths, to achieve the objective of protecting God’s work and benefiting God’s chosen people. This is the minimum standard for practicing truths. When practicing to be an honest person, in tandem with the continuous transformations to life disposition, people can gradually practice truths. Even if they don’t really understand truths, kind-hearted people still know how to act to protect God’s work, benefit God’s chosen people, and accord with God’s will. Their conscience tells them if it’s right or not. So any method that doesn’t reach or completely breaks the standards set by a good conscience is definitely one that violates truths and could even be evil. This is without doubt. For anyone who has a good heart, even if they don’t understand truths they won’t do evil, and they certainly won’t intentionally go against the truths and oppose God. This is a function of the conscience and an expression of good humanity. When someone becomes a truly honest person they can truly start to practice truths. People who really practice truths won’t care about how deep they understand truths but will rely on their conscience to guide them as they do things, and will protect God’s work. So when fulfilling their duties they generally won’t act perfunctorily or try to fool or cheat God. All this is very natural behavior for people who have good hearts. Even if they don’t understand truths completely, they will know how to act and do things that are right and accord with God’s will because they feel it in their conscience. So, if people act according to their conscience most of the time they won’t violate truths. Even if they occasionally don’t meet the exact standard for practicing truths, when they eventually understand truths and grasp the principles they naturally become able to practice truths. Of course, someone who has a good heart but doesn’t understand truths could still be cheated because of their lack of discernment, or might even unwittingly try to do good but instead end up disrupting God’s work. Having a conscience means having humanity, not necessarily having truths. People must equip themselves with truths before they can be said to possess truths and humanity. As long as humane people persist in eating and drinking God’s words and practicing truths they will achieve understanding of truths and entry into reality. When believers understand truths, they will stick to the principles of practicing truths and succeed in putting truths into practice. There are seven principles that must be abided by to practice truths properly:

1. the principle of practicing on the basis of God’s words and through understanding God’s will;

2. the principle of protecting God’s work;

3. the principle of benefiting God’s chosen people;

4. the principle of only seeking results based on each situation and its background;

5. the principle of grasping the realities of each aspect of the truths;

6. the principle of practicing in a way that agrees with other people who are pursuing truths;

7. the principle of keeping a clear conscience and not having any regrets.

Believers who want to enter the reality of the truth must first understand truths, and implement and practice them. To practice them correctly they must experience God’s words, practice truths, and achieve knowledge of the truths. This way they can grasp the principles of practicing truths, and only by practicing truths according to principles can they gain the real results and reach the required standard of practice. In fact, only by correctly practicing truths are people truly submitting to God, exalting God, and bearing witness to Him. If people do not practice truths correctly it’s certainly because their experience of God’s words and their practice of truths have been too shallow or they haven’t really achieved the understanding and knowledge of truths. When people practice truths to the required standard of practice then they can completely enter the reality of the truth in God’s words. So people’s practicing truths can be differentiated by the depth or shallowness of the experience, and through persistently practicing them a total understanding of truths and entry into reality can be achieved. While practicing truths we must frequently seek truths and communicate them. On the one hand, this allows our understanding of truths to gradually go deeper, and on the other it prevents us from deviating from the right path while practicing them. It is common and normal for certain deviations and erroneous methods to appear during the early stages of practicing truths, and the four worst erroneous methods are:

1. sticking rigidly to the rules; 2. doing as one wishes; 3. always showing good intentions; 4. allowing the practice to be adulterated.

These four erroneous methods can’t be classed as practicing truths because they don’t meet the standard for practicing truths. They are the easiest mistakes to make for people who don’t really understand truths, and usually occur during the first 3 or 5 years of practice before new believers have entered the reality of the truth. People are full of too many impurities and their corrupt disposition has yet to be transformed, so it is very difficult for them to avoid deviating from the right path when practicing truths. Once people have completely understood the truths then these mistaken methods of practice are naturally dropped. From this we can see that the process of practicing truths goes from the shallow to the deep and from the deviant path to the right path, and occurs through ceaselessly implementing and practicing them to gradually enter the reality of the truth.

These seven principles for practicing truths have been determined according to the substance of truths, and it’s only through understanding the substance of truths that correct principles of practice can be set. If people have hearts that fear God then they are able to seek truths, deny their own willfulness, and forsake their own flesh. This is how to guarantee correctness and pragmatism when practicing truths and ensure that there won’t be any adulteration or desire for praise and esteem but just the desire to satisfy and comfort God, to be a fair and upstanding person who has no regrets, and to follow the law of Heaven by never violating truths. Thus the practice of truths becomes more and more correct and more and more in line with God’s will. Anyone who doesn’t have a heart that fears God won’t be able to do this. Anyone who doesn’t truly seek truths won’t be willing to take seeking truths seriously and won’t be able to practice truths easily. To practice truths correctly it is necessary to put effort into eating and drinking God’s words and from those words find the reality of the truth that God demands we practice and enter into. Through then implementing and practicing these truths we will then understand them more and finally completely enter the reality of the truth of God’s words.

Practicing truths is the only way to enter the reality of the truth. Practicing truths to the required standard comes about after understanding truths to a deeper and deeper level. During the practicing of truths the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit guides the believers toward the reality of the truth. So no matter how much someone understands truths they must persist in practicing them until they get to truly understanding the substance of the truths. Then they will completely enter the reality of the truth.

Anyone who understands truths recognizes that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, and so will have some practical experience and knowledge of truths and reality. Truths are an expression of God and are a revelation of His disposition. They represent all that He has and is, and the essence of God’s life is truth and righteousness. Truths have limitless power and wisdom, and of course the truths that God has expressed to mankind are just a drop in God’s ocean of life. God’s expressed truths are just the reality of the truth that mankind needs. So the truths that God expresses are mankind’s highest instructions and guidance and should definitely be used as the best possible maxims for life. The substance of the truths totally embodies fairness, justice, and righteousness, as well as selflessness and fearlessness. It is completely open, just and honorable. Even though we practice truths in a way that is shallow and limited—that sometimes can be very far from the substance of the truth—we might still feel we are practicing wonderfully well, especially if we are winning the admiration and praise of those around us. But if we continue to practice and experience until we have practiced every aspect of the reality of each truth then we will completely enter the light. We will definitely be praised by God and of course we will be perfected by Him. This is the real significance of practicing truths. In fact, if someone is able to live out the semblance of a true human being it means they have the reality of the truth, and when someone enters the reality of the truth they will naturally be able to live out the semblance of a true human and out the image of the truths. Indeed, living out the semblance of a true human and out the image of the truths is completely mutually compatible. In the past, people took good people as role models for true human beings and believed that only good people had the semblance of true humans. But after experiencing God’s work and understanding truths we saw that the so called “good people” were not all that good and beautiful after all. We saw that they didn’t possess the reality of the truth in God’s words and were far from the principles and standards for the truths. Now we see the pitiful state of this corrupt mankind that doesn’t have truths. If a person can accept all of the truths expressed in God’s words as their life then the image of the truths they will be living out will be the semblance of a true human being, which will be much better than what corrupt mankind calls “good people.” This is what God’s words say is the true meaning of life. The reality of the truth that is described in God’s words is the highest aphorism for life for mankind, and we should follow God’s words and practice honesty, obedience and loyalty to Him. We should bear witness to God, exalt, worship and serve Him, and through all this we will, almost without realizing it, enter the reality of the truth completely. If people live out these aspects of the reality of the truth then they are living out the semblance of true human beings with the image of the truths.

The life experience, from eating and drinking God’s words and practicing and implementing truths up to completely entering the reality of the truth, is roughly divided into three stages. For the first 3 to 5 years the main experience is one of eating and drinking God’s words, and the focus of the practice is self-reflection while eating and drinking God’s words to achieve knowledge of one’s own corrupt reality and substance of one’s nature and knowledge of how God works to save and perfect people. During this stage believers also have to practice fulfilling their duties of spreading the gospel to bear witness to God. Even though they are not up to standard in terms of practicing truths, they are on the right track to understanding truths because they are laying a solid foundation for the true way. The practice must be conducted in this way until they are clear about the visions and they are rooted firmly on the true way so that they no longer are deceived or used by others and they can independently believe in God, pursue truths and stand firm. This is the sign that the first stage of life experience has been completed. When believers truly know their own corrupt substance and reality and start to forsake their flesh, pursue truths, and willingly fulfill their duties they enter the second stage of life experience. At this stage, believers have already begun to understand truths and focus on practicing them, and they have started to submit to God’s judgment and punishment when eating and drinking God’s words. When fulfilling their duties they seek and pursue truths, but still need to undergo a lot of pruning and dealing, trials and refinement, and failures and frustration before they gradually begin to enter the reality of the truth. Although they reveal a lot of corruption they still come to know themselves and truly repent. They are able to pursue truths and strive forward so that they understand and practice some of the truths, and begin to have true life experience. This is what happens during the second stage of life experience. When people enter the third stage of life experience they gradually begin to practice truths correctly because they have already been through a lot of pruning and dealing, trials and refinement, and God’s discipline and even His punishment, so they have true life experience. They already understand some truths, and they have pursuing knowledge of God as their objective in pursuing the truth. In the third stage of life experience, the focus of practicing truths is on practicing truths and obeying God when fulfilling duties, practicing being an honest person, having consideration for God’s will, and being faithful to God’s entrustment until the pursuit of truths leads to being perfected. But they must undergo even more trials and refinement—or even heavier judgment, chastisement, smiting, and discipline—for better results to be achieved. If these people can continue to pursue truths, transformation in disposition, and knowledge of God, then their life dispositions will be transformed and they will be able to completely enter the reality of the truth. This is what happens during the third stage of life experience. Believers who enter the third stage of life experience practice truths more correctly and get results completely without veering off track. During this stage they are experiencing being perfected by God and are gradually becoming suitable for God to use. This is how practicing truths gradually deepens, and when a person practices totally correctly and up to God’s standard then they are truly obeying God and have completely entered the reality of the truth. From this we can see that practicing truths is the route to entering the reality of the truth and to salvation and perfection. Only through practicing truths can salvation and perfection be attained. Anyone who is eating and drinking God’s words but not focusing on practicing truths is someone who isn’t really pursuing truths. From looking at what happens to all those false leaders and antichrists that don’t have the reality of the truth and deceive people by talking about letters and doctrines we can see that people who eat and drink God’s words but don’t practice truths don’t have God’s blessings. Only people who practice truths have the work of the Holy Spirit, which is a sign of having God’s praise and blessings. People who don’t have the work of the Holy Spirit don’t have God’s praise or blessings. Anyone who is pursuing truths should see this clearly. No matter how much someone understands truths they must practice them before they can truly understand them and enter reality. Anyone who believes in God for many years but doesn’t practice truths and repent will certainly be eliminated and will suffer punishment. This is absolutely without doubt. “Those who genuinely believe in God are those who are willing to put God’s word into practice, and they are those who are willing to practice the truth. Those who can genuinely stand witness for God are also those who are willing to put His word into practice, and they are those who can genuinely stand on the side of the truth. Those who employ trickery and who do injustice are all people who have no truth and they all bring shame on God. Those in the church who engage in disputes are Satan’s lackeys, and are the embodiment of Satan. This kind of person is too malicious. Those who have no discernment and are incapable of standing on the side of the truth all harbor evil intentions and tarnish the truth. These people are even more so typical representatives of Satan; they are beyond redemption and it goes without saying that they are all objects to be eliminated” (“A Warning to Those Who Do Not Practice the Truth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

This sermon must be fellowshiped together with these three pieces of God’s words: “Practice the Truth Once You Understand It,” “Only Putting the Truth Into Practice Is Having Reality,” and “A Warning to Those Who Do Not Practice the Truth.”
