308 Where Is Your True Faith?
Verse 1
When the people of Nineveh
heard Jehovah’s angry words,
they repented quickly in sackcloth and ashes.
Because they believed His words,
they were fearful and repented.
But that is not the same for people of today.
Pre-chorus 1
Though you believe God’s words
and that Jehovah’s come again,
you are irreverent to Him,
as if observing the Jesus long ago.
Chorus
God understands the deceit
within your hearts.
Most that follow are just curious
and seek Him out of emptiness.
When your wish for peace is shattered,
your curiosity goes too;
your deceit is exposed
through your words and deeds.
You’re just curious but don’t fear God,
lacking restraint in your actions,
not holding your tongue.
Can you call it true faith?
Verse 2
You just use God’s words
when you are bored or worried
to fill the empty spaces in your lives.
Who has true faith
and puts God’s words into practice?
You claim that God sees deep
into the hearts of people.
Pre-chorus 2
But how is the God you shout about
compatible with the true God?
Why do you act like this?
Do you repay God with this love?
Chorus
God understands the deceit
within your hearts.
Most that follow are just curious
and seek Him out of emptiness.
When your wish for peace is shattered,
your curiosity goes too;
your deceit is exposed
through your words and deeds.
You’re just curious but don’t fear God,
lacking restraint in your actions,
not holding your tongue.
Can you call it true faith?
Outro
You always claim devotions,
but where are your good deeds and sacrifices?
If your words didn’t reach God’s ears,
how could He despise you so?
