01The alarm bells for the last days are ringing—how can we seek God’s footsteps?

Disasters are happening frequently all over the world, with earthquakes, plagues, floods, famines, and more coming one after another. Turmoil is growing in the world and wars loom on the horizon. All of this perfectly fulfills the Lord’s prophecy: “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places: Now all these are the beginnings of sorrows” (Matthew 24:7–8). It’s clear that we are now in the last days and the time has come for the Lord to return. So how can we be the wise virgins who seek the Lord’s footsteps and welcome His return?

“Behold, I stand at the gate, and knock. If any man shall hear My voice, and open to Me the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

“And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him” (Matthew 25:6).

“My sheep hear My voice: and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them life everlasting; and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:27–28).

“These follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth” (Revelation 14:4).

“He, that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches” (Revelation 2:7).

02The Lord has returned and spoken, bringing us the way of eternal life

Two thousand years ago the Lord prophesied: “Behold I come quickly” (Revelation 22:7). The prophecies of His return have now been fulfilled, and He has returned as Almighty God, Christ of the last days. Almighty God expresses all truths to purify and fully save mankind, and He has brought us the way of eternal life. In order to keep pace with the Lamb’s footsteps, we have to welcome the return of the Lord and accept the truths expressed by Christ of the last days, Almighty God.

“I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will teach you all truth” (John 16:12–13).

“And if any man hear My words, and keep them not, I do not judge him: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that despiseth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47–48).

“And I saw another angel flying through the midst of heaven, having the eternal gospel, to preach unto them that sit upon the earth, and over every nation, and tribe, and tongue, and people: Saying with a loud voice: Fear the Lord, and give Him honour, because the hour of His judgment is come; and adore ye Him, that made heaven and earth, the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:6–7).

03The easiest mistake to make in welcoming the Lord

The Lord said, “Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their lips glorify Me, but their heart is far from Me, and they have feared Me with the commandment and doctrines of men” (Isaiah 29:13). These words expose those who believe in the Lord but do not heed His words or obey Him. Instead, they just claim to believe in the Lord while in their hearts they adore and follow people, follow others’ teachings, and put human words into practice as if they were the Lord’s. For example, when some people hear testimony that the Lord Jesus has returned and is uttering new words, they do not seek or investigate this, but just wait for the Pope and their priest to decide. Is this the way to keep pace with the Lord’s footsteps and gain His approval?

“We ought to obey God, rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

“And the people are not returned to Him who hath struck them, and have not sought after the Lord of hosts. And the Lord shall destroy out of Israel the head and the tail, him that bendeth down, and him that holdeth back, in one day. The aged and honourable, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. And they that call this people blessed, shall cause them to err: and they that are called blessed, shall be thrown down headlong” (Isaiah 9:13–16).

“Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their lips glorify Me, but their heart is far from Me, and they have feared Me with the commandment and doctrines of men” (Isaiah 29:13).

“Let them alone: they are blind, and leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the pit” (Matthew 15:14).
