01 Is the Bible all inspired by God? Is everything in the Bible the words of God?

All those who have read the Bible will know that it contains the words of God, the words of the prophets and of the apostles, the words of Satan, and more. Yet there are many believers in the Lord who, going by the words of Paul, that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16) believe that the Bible only contains the words of God. Does such a view accord with God’s will?

02Can God’s words and work all be found in the Bible?

In the last days, The Church of Almighty God testifies that the Lord Jesus has returned as Almighty God, Christ of the last days, to express the truth and perform the work of judgment beginning with God’s house. Yet there are some who believe that the truths of the Bible are whole and complete, and that all of God’s words and work can already be found in the Bible. They believe there can be no new words or work of God outside the Bible, and that anything that goes beyond the Bible is heresy. But does such a view accord with the facts of God’s work? Does it fit with God’s words?

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written” (John 21:25).

“I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come” (John 16:12–13).

“He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:7).

“And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof” (Revelation 5:1–5).

03Can we welcome the Lord by holding to the Bible?

Two thousand years ago, the Israelites longed for the coming of the Messiah. When the Lord Jesus came to perform His work, however, the Jewish Pharisees held to the Old Testament scriptures and frantically resisted and condemned the Lord Jesus, until finally they committed the heinous sin of having Him nailed to the cross. The Lord Jesus has now long since returned as Almighty God, Christ of the last days, and upon the foundation of the Lord Jesus’ work of redemption, He expresses the truth and performs the work of judging and purifying man, bringing the way of everlasting life. Yet many people are set on re-enacting that historical tragedy. Faced with Almighty God’s appearance and work in the last days, they stubbornly hold to the Bible, refusing to seek or investigate the utterances of the Holy Spirit, and even going so far as to resist and condemn Almighty God’s work in the last days. Are such people capable of welcoming the Lord?
