01How has the religious world become divided into so many denominations?

It has been two thousand years since the Lord Jesus resurrected and ascended to heaven. During this time, religious groups such as Catholicism, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Christianity have gradually taken shape, with each religious group becoming yet further divided into many denominations. Many people find this confusing, and ask, “If all denominations believe in the same Lord and accept the Lord Jesus’ salvation of the cross, how can there be so many different denominations?”

Bible Verses for Reference

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same judgment. For it hath been signified unto me, my brethren, of you, by them that are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith: I indeed am of Paul; and I am of Apollo; and I am of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul then crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:10–13).

02How can the Lord unify all denominations when He returns in the last days?

“And other sheep I have, that are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd” (John 10:16).

“And in the last days the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be prepared on the top of mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go, and say: Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall come forth from Sion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge the Gentiles, and rebuke many people: and they shall turn their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into sickles: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they be exercised any more to war” (Isaiah 2:2–4).

03Accepting Christ of the last days is keeping up with the footsteps of the Lord, not a betrayal of the Lord

Now, only The Church of Almighty God is testifying that the Lord Jesus has returned and that He is expressing the truth and performing the work of judgment and chastisement to cleanse and save man once and for all. Almighty God’s kingdom gospel has reached many countries in the West, and an ever-growing number of people are accepting and spreading the words He expresses. Yet there are some who wonder whether accepting Almighty God’s work of the last days is a betrayal of the Lord. In actual fact, people from all denominations who accept Almighty God’s work all hear the authority and power in the words Almighty God expresses, and know them to be the truth, the voice of God. They then become certain that Almighty God is the Lord returned, and one by one they come before Him. This is not a betrayal of the Lord; instead, they are keeping up with the Lord’s footsteps and welcoming His return.

04The nature and consequences of not keeping up with the Lord’s footsteps

When the Lord Jesus came to perform His work, the Jewish scribes, chief priests and Pharisees stubbornly clung to the law, and so they believed that following the Lord Jesus meant betraying Jehovah, and so they blindly rejected and resisted the Lord Jesus. Ultimately, they had Him crucified, thereby aggravating God’s disposition, and God punished them. Some people are now committing the same mistake as the Pharisees: Faced with Almighty God’s work of the last days, not only do they not seek or investigate it, but instead they frantically resist and condemn it. They are no different from the Pharisees, hating the truth and betraying the Lord, and in the end they must be punished by God and be swept up in the disasters with much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
