282 God Long Ago Determined Man’s Fate
Verse 1
As far as fate is concerned,
everyone is independent.
As far as fate is concerned,
everyone has his or her own fate.
So no one’s parents
can stave off one’s fate in life
or exert the slightest influence
on the role one plays.
Chorus
Nothing except the predestination of the Creator
has a bearing on a person’s fate.
No one can control what kind of future one will have,
predetermined long before, not even parents have a say.
Verse 2
The family into which one is born
is a precondition for fulfilling one’s mission.
The environment in which one grows up
is a precondition just as well.
They do not in any way
determine a person’s fate
or the kind of destiny
amidst which their mission is fulfilled.
Verse 3
And so no one’s parents can
assist in fulfilling one’s mission.
And no one’s relatives can help
one assume one’s role.
How one accomplishes one’s mission
and in what environment one plays their role
are determined by their fate,
which no one can control.
Chorus
Nothing except the predestination of the Creator
has a bearing on a person’s fate.
No one can control what kind of future one will have,
predetermined long before, not even parents have a say.
Verse 4
No other objective
conditions can influence
one’s mission which is predestined
by the Creator alone.
All people become mature
in unique environments,
the way that they grow up,
all on their own.
Chorus
Nothing except the predestination of the Creator
has a bearing on a person’s fate.
No one can control what kind of future one will have,
predetermined long before, not even parents have a say.
Bridge
Step by step, they set off down their own roads.
Step by step, they fulfill destinies planned for them.
Step by step, they enter the vast sea of people.
Step by step, they assume their own posts in life.
Step by step, they fulfill their responsibilities,
all for the sake of the Creator’s predestination.
Step by step, they do it all involuntarily,
all for the sake of the Creator’s sovereignty.
God long ago determined man’s fate.
Chorus
Nothing except the predestination of the Creator
has a bearing on a person’s fate.
No one can control what kind of future one will have,
predetermined long before, not even parents have a say.
