850 God’s Realness and Loveliness
Verse 1
God made coats of skins, clothes for Adam and Eve.
In this image God appears as a parent of theirs.
Having created these two, He took care of them,
made them companions, met their basic needs.
Pre-chorus
In this man sees God’s humbleness, His affection and concern.
Man sees God’s responsibility, yes, all he sees is God’s care.
Chorus
This may be a simple thing, not worthy of a mention.
But for those who follow God with vague ideas,
this allows them treasured insight into how real God is.
They see how lovely, they see how faithful,
how humble God is, He is.
Verse 2
While God does this, men don’t see how lofty God is,
or see His supremacy, or His mystery.
No, man does not get to see especially
His wrath or majesty, no, man does not see.
They see how lovely, they see how faithful, how humble God is.
Bridge
God treated Adam and Eve
like a human parent to their child.
He loved, watched over, cared for them
as a human parent would do.
His love was real, visible, tangible.
Not sitting high and mighty,
or holding Himself aloft from man,
He Himself made clothes of skins for them.
Chorus
This may be a simple thing, not worthy of a mention.
But for those who follow God with vague ideas,
this allows them treasured insight into how real God is.
They see how lovely, they see how faithful,
how humble God is, He is.
