379 Betrayal of God Is Human Nature
Verse 1
Man’s nature comes from the soul, and not from the flesh.
The soul knows Satan’s temptations, afflictions, corruption,
while man’s flesh knows nothing of this, and thus man becomes
more dark, filthy and evil without realizing,
while the gap between man and God grows greater,
and life for mankind becomes ever darker.
For Satan holds the souls of mankind in its grasp,
and so has also come to occupy man’s flesh.
Pre-chorus
How could such flesh and such a mankind not resist God?
How could they be born compatible with Him?
Satan’s betrayal is what caused God to cast it down.
How, then, could humans be free of their involvement?
This is why betrayal is human nature.
Chorus
No matter how mature your life,
your experience, your confidence,
nor your birthplace or where you’re going,
your nature to betray God is innate.
It may show itself anytime, anywhere.
God wants to tell every one of you:
Each and every person is the same;
your nature to betray God is innate.
Verse 2
It matters not how long you’ve been God’s follower,
your nature is still inclined to betray Him.
For man never achieves absolute maturity,
changes to his disposition are just relative.
Chorus
No matter how mature your life,
your experience, your confidence,
nor your birthplace or where you’re going,
your nature to betray God is innate.
It may show itself anytime, anywhere.
God wants to tell every one of you:
Each and every person is the same;
your nature to betray God is innate.
Bridge
With these words, God’s not seeking excuses
to eliminate or condemn mankind.
God’s intention is to make man more aware
of what is inherent in his own nature,
so that he might live carefully before God
to be receptive to His guidance at all times,
that mankind might not lose touch with His presence
and thus set off down the path of no return.
Chorus
No matter how mature your life,
your experience, your confidence,
nor your birthplace or where you’re going,
your nature to betray God is innate.
It may show itself anytime, anywhere.
God wants to tell every one of you:
Each and every person is the same;
your nature to betray God is innate.
