Verse 1

Humans and God are completely diff’rent;

they live in two different realms.

Humans can’t grasp God’s thoughts or language.

Only He can understand men.

As man has no way to know God,

He must become flesh, be as humans,

bear disgrace and pain to save them,

so they can understand His work.

Verse 2

If it were as people imagine,

and God destroyed humans when mad,

He would not need to take such great pains

to save them as He has.

It is precisely due to the pain

suffered by God while in the flesh,

that bit by bit His love manifests

and it’s discovered by all men.

If God were not doing this work,

men would just know of a God,

a God who is in heaven,

who has love for humanity.

However, if this were the case,

it would be merely doctrine;

people would never be able

to see and encounter God’s love.

Why does God never stop saving humans?

It’s because of His love.

He sees they are corrupted by Satan,

and cannot bear to give up.

And so because of His love for man,

He came up with His management plan.

Verse 3

Only through God’s work done in the flesh

can people truly know Him.

This understanding’s not vague or empty.

It is not merely doctrine,

not something to just pay lip service to,

but a genuine understanding,

because the love that God gives humans

brings substantial advantage.

How great was the love Jesus gave?

He came and was crucified

on corrupt humans’ behalf,

and served as a sin offering.

He’d come to redeem humankind

up until His crucifixion.

Such boundless love! The work God’s done

is of profound significance.
