Verse 1
See Job’s obedience towards God:
He said, “Naked I came, thus I’ll go.”
His words prove he overcame Satan.

and Jehovah has taken away.
Jehovah, blessed, blessed be His name.”
Verse 2
Those words Job spoke prove to all that
God observes the depths of all man’s hearts.
He looks into the mind of man.
They prove His approval of Job
is without error, that this man
who was approved by God was righteous.
Chorus
“Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away.
Jehovah, Jehovah, blessed be His name.”

“Jehovah, Jehovah, blessed be His name, His name.”
Verse 3
These ordinary words cowed Satan,
brought it shame, and it fled in panic.
It was shackled and left with nothing.
These words made Satan feel the power,
the wondrousness of the deeds of God,
amazing deeds of Jehovah God.

Jehovah, Jehovah, blessed be His name.”

whose heart was directed by the way of God.
They showed Satan the powerful vitality
shown by such a small and trivial man
in adhering to shunning evil and fearing God,
shunning evil and fearing God.

Jehovah, Jehovah, blessed be His name.”
