186 Man Can Better Understand God Through God Incarnate
Verse 1
The images of the vague Gods
that sit in people’s hearts
can’t be exposed, cast off, expelled
exclusively by words.
In doing so, ultimately
it’d still be very hard
to dispel these deep-rooted things
from within people’s hearts.
Verse 2
Just the real God and His image
can replace these vague things
to allow people to know them.
That’s how the goal’s achieved.
Man sees God he sought in times past
is vague and is abstract.
It’s not Spirit’s direct guidance
that achieves this effect.
Pre-chorus 1
It’s not achieved by man’s teachings
but instead from God incarnate.
Chorus
Man can only know God
and see Him much more clearly
if God works among man
with His being and His image revealed.
This effect cannot be achieved by fleshly man.
God’s Spirit is also unable to accomplish this effect.
Verse 3
The notions of man are laid bare
when incarnate God works.
His normality and realness
counters the God obscure.
Without comparison to God in flesh,
man’s notions aren’t seen.
Without the contrast of real things,
vague things are not revealed.
Pre-chorus 2
Only God can do His own work,
no one can work on His behalf.
Chorus
Man can only know God
and see Him much more clearly
if God works among man
with His being and His image revealed.
This effect cannot be achieved by fleshly man.
God’s Spirit is also unable to accomplish this effect.
Bridge
No one is able to use words
to do this kind of work, to clarify this work.
Regardless how rich are man’s words,
he can’t make clear God’s realness
as well as His normalness.
Chorus
Man can only know God
and see Him much more clearly
if God works among man
with His being and His image revealed.
This effect cannot be achieved by fleshly man.
God’s Spirit is also unable to accomplish this effect.
