847 Seeking the Truth Is the Only Chance to Be Made Perfect
Verse 1
If man’s not cleansed, then he is of the filth;
if he’s not protected and cared for by God,
then he’s still a captive of Satan;
if he’s not judged and he is not chastised,
then he will have no means of escaping
the oppression of Satan’s dark influence.
Pre-chorus
How much do you know
of today’s chastisement and judgment?
How much do you possess
of that which Peter came to know?
And if you can’t know now,
can you learn it in the future?
Chorus
If man is not serious about matters of life
and he doesn’t pursue entry into the truth,
if he doesn’t pursue changes in his disposition,
much less pursue a knowledge of the work of God,
if, in his belief in God, he doesn’t do all this,
man cannot be made perfect.
Verse 2
Someone as lazy and cowardly as you
can’t simply know chastisement and judgment.
If you pursue the peace of the flesh,
and you pursue the pleasures of the flesh,
you can’t be cleansed, you’ll be returned to Satan,
for what you live out is Satan and the flesh.
Chorus
If man is not serious about matters of life
and he doesn’t pursue entry into the truth,
if he doesn’t pursue changes in his disposition,
much less pursue a knowledge of the work of God,
if, in his belief in God, he doesn’t do all this,
man cannot be made perfect.
Verse 3
As of now, many people don’t pursue life,
which means that they do not care about being cleansed,
or entering deeper life experience.
Without pursuing life or knowledge of God,
or working to change their disposition,
they can’t escape Satan and be made perfect.
Bridge
They are not at all serious about
their knowledge of God and their entry
into changes in their disposition,
like those who only believe in religion,
and who merely follow ceremony
and attend regular services.
Is that not a waste of time?
Chorus
If man is not serious about matters of life
and he doesn’t pursue entry into the truth,
if he doesn’t pursue changes in his disposition,
much less pursue a knowledge of the work of God,
if, in his belief in God, he doesn’t do all this,
man cannot be made perfect.
