618 Serve As the Israelites Did

Chorus

You’re required to work in harmony,

like God asked of the Israelites.

If you can’t, you should stop trying to serve.

Verse 1

Because you serve God directly,

you should at least be loyal and submit,

learning your lessons in a practical way.

For those working in a church,

would brothers and sisters below you

dare to deal with someone like you?

Verse 2

Would anyone dare to tell

your mistakes to your face?

You stand high above everyone,

reigning like a king!

You don’t study or enter into

these practical lessons,

yet you still talk of serving God!

Chorus

You’re required to work in harmony,

like God asked of the Israelites.

If you can’t, you should stop trying to serve.

Verse 3

Today you’re asked to lead churches,

but you can’t put yourself aside,

clinging to your notions and opinions,

not taking responsibility

for what you should have dealt with,

doing barely “good enough,”

and venting your opinions.

Pre-chorus

You protect your status, saving face,

unwilling to give yourself up

and make up for each other’s faults

so life may grow more rapidly.

Chorus

You’re required to work in harmony,

like God asked of the Israelites.

If you can’t, you should stop trying to serve.

Verse 4

Fellowship together

about issues and problems;

talk about the enlightenment

and illumination you’ve received.

It’s for all your lives to benefit,

an indispensable practice of service.

Verse 5

Cooperate in harmony

for the church and God’s work.

Spur your brothers and sisters

onward in your work,

each amending the other

for better outcomes in your work,

to care for God’s will.

This is true cooperation.

Bridge

God’s servants must defend

the interests of the church

above their own in everything they do.

You should not work alone

or undermine each other;

or you won’t be fit to serve God!

With a terrible disposition,

such people are more Satan than human.

They are beasts!

Chorus

You’re required to work in harmony,

like God asked of the Israelites.

If you can’t, you should stop trying to serve.
