933 Man Should Cherish God’s Creations

Verse 1

God allows man to manage all things

and to have lordship over them.

But man cannot keep things as God has created.

He’s done the opposite, he’s destroyed it.

Man has moved the mountains,

reclaimed land from the seas.

He’s turned plains into deserts, where none can live.

And in place of the beauty of God’s creation,

man has placed industry, ruining everything.

Now rivers are no longer rivers,

and the sea is no longer the sea.

Chorus

Man’s attitude to all things should be:

to treasure them, to protect them,

to make efficient use of them.

Man cannot exist separately

from the rest of creation.

That’s not what man’s attitude should be.

Verse 2

So once man has broken the balance

of what God has created,

the natural environment and its rules,

not far is his day of death and disaster.

That day is coming and it’s inevitable.

When that day comes, man will have realized the value

of all God made for him and see its importance.

Living in a land of timely winds and rains

is just like paradise.

But man doesn’t recognize this blessing.

But when lost, they’ll see in that moment

just how rare and how precious it is.

Chorus

Man’s attitude to all things should be:

to treasure them, to protect them,

to make efficient use of them.

Man cannot exist separately

from the rest of creation.

That’s not what man’s attitude should be.

Verse 3

Once it is gone, how would one ever get it back,

if God doesn’t wish to intervene?

Man’s only solution? Stop the destruction!

Then the environment may rebalance itself.

Put an end to all this destruction,

stop the plunder and the devastation.

Doing so would bring recovery

of all the things that God has created.

But failure will make it even worse

for the environment of all life on the earth,

whose destruction would quicken over time.

Chorus

Man’s attitude to all things should be:

to treasure them, to protect them,

to make efficient use of them.

Man cannot exist separately

from the rest of creation.

That’s not what man’s attitude should be.

That’s not what man’s attitude should be.
