938 God’s Disposition Is Lofty and Grand

Verse 1

The joy of God is because of

the ruin of evil and darkness,

the existence and rise

of light and justice.

It’s from giving man light, good life.

The joy that He has is righteous,

a symbol of all positive things,

a symbol that all will be good.

Refrain

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

Verse 2

God’s wrath’s because injustice lives

and its disruption harms mankind,

because of evil and darkness,

and things that drive out truth,

even more because there exists

things against what’s beautiful.

His wrath means bad things live no more.

It’s a sign of His holiness.

Refrain

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

Verse 3

God’s sorrow is because mankind

whom He longs for is in darkness,

His work on man fails to meet His hopes,

and mankind can’t all live in light.

He feels sad for innocent men,

honest but foolish, kind but weak-willed.

His sorrow shows goodness,

mercy, beauty, and kindness.

Refrain

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

Verse 4

God’s delight is from beating foes,

gaining the good faith of mankind,

destroying all foes,

and man living a peaceful life.

God’s delight is unlike man’s joy;

it’s greater, like reaping good fruit.

It’s a sign man’s free from torment,

a sign man’s in a world of light.

Bridge

But man’s emotions serve his own needs,

not for light, what’s beautiful and right,

and least of all for Heaven’s grace.

They’re selfish, belong to darkness.

They are not for God’s plan or will,

so man and God can’t be equal.

Refrain

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.

God’s disposition stands for nobility,

honor, power, greatness and supremacy.
