945 The Symbol of God’s Wrath

Verse 1

God’s disposition is inherent to Him.

It isn’t changed by the passage of time;

it doesn’t get changed by geography.

It’s simply His intrinsic essence.

It doesn’t matter who He works upon,

His essence is still not subject to change,

nor is His righteous disposition.

Verse 2

When angered, what God always sends forth

is His own inherent disposition.

The principle of His anger doesn’t change,

nor do His status and identity.

He gets angry not because His essence has changed,

and not because His disposition has changed,

but He’s offended by man’s opposition.

Chorus

When God expresses His wrath,

it’s a symbol that evil forces will cease to exist;

it’s a symbol that hostile forces will all be destroyed.

See just how unique God’s righteous disposition can be;

see just how unique God’s wrath can be.

Verse 3

Man’s flagrant provocation of God

challenges God’s identity and status.

God views this as man contesting Him.

In God’s view man is testing His anger.

And at such times, man’s sins run rampant,

and so it’s natural that at such times,

God’s wrath will reveal and present itself.

Chorus

When God expresses His wrath,

it’s a symbol that evil forces will cease to exist;

it’s a symbol that hostile forces will all be destroyed.

See just how unique God’s righteous disposition can be;

see just how unique God’s wrath can be.
