355 What Have You Given God in Return?
Verse 1
God has been among you
for several falls and springs.
He’s lived with you for long.
Before Him how many of your vile deeds slip?
The heartfelt words you say,
they echo in God’s ears.
Millions of your resolves
can’t be counted, on His altar they’re laid.
Pre-chorus 1
Yet no dedication, no drop of sincerity
His altar you lay upon.
Where are the fruits of your belief?
Chorus
You have received God’s endless grace,
seen His heavenly mysteries.
God has shown you flames of heaven,
but hasn’t the heart to burn you.
How much to God have you returned?
How much have you willingly given Him?
Verse 2
Holding food God gave you,
you offer it to Him,
saying it’s your reward for hard work,
you’ve given Him all you have.
How is it you don’t know
that all you give to God,
all your contributions
are all things that you stole from His altar?
Pre-chorus 2
Now you give them to God.
Are you not cheating Him?
He enjoys what’s on His altar
and not hard work’s returns you give.
Chorus
You have received God’s endless grace,
seen His heavenly mysteries.
God has shown you flames of heaven,
but hasn’t the heart to burn you.
How much to God have you returned?
How much have you willingly given Him?
Bridge
You really dare cheat God,
so then how can He pardon you?
How can God endure this longer?
He’s given everything to you.
He’s opened everything to you.
He’s provided for your needs,
and He has opened up your eyes.
But you ignore your conscience and cheat Him.
Chorus
You have received God’s endless grace,
seen His heavenly mysteries.
God has shown you flames of heaven,
but hasn’t the heart to burn you.
How much to God have you returned?
How much have you willingly given Him?
