202 God’s Love Awakens My Heart
Verse 1
Satan has corrupted my soul, I am so proud and vain.
Satan has poisoned my thoughts,
I long to love God but fall short, oh, but fall short.
The judgment of God’s words makes me know myself.
I’m so corrupted that no part of me is good.
No conscience, no sense, no dignity remain.
Without salvation, I might live like one who is dead.
Chorus
God faces danger to work and save us.
He judges us with words,
renews our corrupted souls, then our lives have value.
I will suffer all there is to suffer, offer my final devotion.
I will have an honest soul, I’ll be one with love for God.
Verse 2
I am blessed, God exalts me, so I can do my duty.
Yet I disobey Him and I muddle through it,
oh, I muddle through it.
God’s words expose me, and I see my satanic nature.
I hate myself more for my deep corruption.
I have no conscience or sense, I can’t comfort God’s heart.
Yet He shows me mercy and saves me time and again.
Chorus
God faces danger to work and save us.
He judges us with words,
renews our corrupted souls, then our lives have value.
I will suffer all there is to suffer, offer my final devotion.
I will have an honest soul, I’ll be one with love for God.
Bridge
Through God’s judgment and His refinement, I’m finally cleansed;
I have seen just how great and how real is God’s salvation!
’Cause of God’s great patience, I can repay His love.
But I learn too late, my debt is too great.
Chorus
God faces danger to work and save us.
He judges us with words,
renews our corrupted souls, then our lives have value.
I will suffer all there is to suffer, offer my final devotion.
I will have an honest soul, I’ll be one with love for God.
