136 God’s Work Does Not Remain Unchanged
Chorus
God has always wanted for His work
to be new and alive, not old and dead.
What He asks man to keep varies with age and phase.
It’s not the same forever, unchangeable.
He is a God who causes man to live and be new,
not a devil causing man to be old and die.
Verse 1
You have notions about God, can’t let go;
this is because you are so close-minded,
not ’cause God’s work lacks sense, is far from man’s wish,
or that God is remiss in His duties.
Verse 2
You are too lacking in obedience
and haven’t the slightest human likeness.
That’s why you cannot discard your notions.
God isn’t making things hard for you.
Pre-chorus
You caused this, it bears no relation to God.
All suffering is created by man.
Chorus
God has always wanted for His work
to be new and alive, not old and dead.
What He asks man to keep varies with age and phase.
It’s not the same forever, unchangeable.
He is a God who causes man to live and be new,
not a devil causing man to be old and die.
Verse 3
God’s thoughts are always and ever good.
He does not want you to produce notions.
He wants you to be changed and made new with ages.
Yet you don’t know what’s good for you.
Verse 4
You’re always scrutinizing, analyzing.
God isn’t making things hard for you,
but you have no reverence for God,
your disobedience is too great.
Bridge
A small created being, daring to take
some trifling thing given by God,
then turning around to attack God,
is this not man’s disobedience?
Man’s not fit to express their views before God,
even less to parade their worthless language,
to say nothing of those moldy notions.
Aren’t they even more worthless, oh, worthless?
Chorus
God has always wanted for His work
to be new and alive, not old and dead.
What He asks man to keep varies with age and phase.
It’s not the same forever, unchangeable.
He is a God who causes man to live and be new,
not a devil causing man to be old and die.
