806 The Consequences of Not Knowing God’s Disposition

Verse 1

If you don’t understand God’s disposition,

then you can’t do the work you should for Him.

If you don’t know God’s essence,

then you can’t revere and fear Him.

Instead, carelessness and blasphemy.

Chorus

If you don’t understand God’s disposition,

then you’ll be likely to offend Him,

provoking God’s ire,

and so violating against His decrees.

Verse 2

Though knowing God’s disposition

and essence is important,

no one has examined

or delved into these issues.

It’s clear you’ve dismissed

God’s administrative decrees.

Chorus

If you don’t understand God’s disposition,

then you’ll be likely to offend Him,

provoking God’s ire,

and so violating against His decrees.

Verse 3

God wants you to know His disposition;

it doesn’t contradict His work.

For if you often go against His decrees,

you will surely be punished.

Wouldn’t His work be totally in vain?

So God demands you be cautious

and watch your own ways.

Bridge

This is God’s higher demand.

Give it your full regard.

And if your actions provoke God’s towering rage,

the consequences are yours alone to bear;

no one can be punished in your place.

Chorus

If you don’t understand God’s disposition,

then you’ll be likely to offend Him,

provoking God’s ire,

and so violating against His decrees.
