Editor’s Note: In recent years, the celestial phenomenon “blood moon” has appeared frequently. Various disasters such as pandemics, earthquakes, and famines are getting worse and worse. The Bible prophecies about the last days have largely been fulfilled. The great catastrophes are now upon us, so how should we welcome the Lord’s return? This article has the answer.

According to astronomical news, on September 7–8, 2025, a total lunar eclipse lasting 82 minutes will occur. This rare blood moon will be visible in many parts of the world.

In recent years, blood moons have appeared repeatedly, like constant warnings to the world:

On April 15, 2014, the first of a tetrad of blood moons made its stunning appearance, dyeing the sky blood red.

On October 8, 2014, the second blood moon appeared, and the alarm bells continued to ring.

On April 4, 2015, the third blood moon followed, with unusual sights becoming frequent.

On September 27–28, 2015, the fourth blood moon coincided with a supermoon.

On January 31, 2018, the rare “super blue blood moon” trifecta appeared in the sky.

On January 21, 2019, the “super blood wolf moon” shook the night sky, with a red moon being accompanied by a “wolf moon”—another rare celestial event.

On May 26, 2021, a blood moon once again coincided with a supermoon.

On May 16, 2022, the “flower blood moon” rose in the east, and people once again witnessed the moon turn to blood.

On March 13–14, 2025, another blood moon appeared—the full moon known as the “worm moon” turned blood-red.

Are these recurring blood moons really just astronomical phenomena? Or are they reminding us that the great catastrophes are drawing ever closer?

Many prophets believe that the appearance of blood moons signifies extraordinary and great events to come. There are also many Bible experts who firmly believe that the appearance of blood moons is the fulfillment of the prophecy in the Book of Joel 2:29–31: “And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Jehovah comes.” Also, in Revelation 6:12, it states: “And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, see, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” “The great and terrible day” mentioned in the prophecy refers to the great catastrophes. We have all seen disasters growing in scale over the past few years, with frequent occurrences of such disasters as earthquakes, famines, plagues and floods which are truly horrifying; the world situation is in turmoil and constantly changing, and there are frequent eruptions of wars, violent incidents and terrorist attacks which continue to escalate; the global climate is getting warmer, and extreme weather and various astronomical wonders are occurring frequently. The signs of the last days prophesied in the Bible have appeared one by one. The frequent appearance of blood moons is not a spectacle, but a warning of the last days!

As the great catastrophes have arrived, how should we welcome the Lord and gain His salvation? The Lord Jesus said: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13). It is prophesied in many places in chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation: “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” From these prophecies, we can see that God will speak words in the last days to guide people into all truth, performing a new stage of work to purify and save them and bring them into the kingdom of God. Only by listening for God’s voice and yearning for God’s appearance can we welcome the return of the Lord Jesus, have the opportunity to be saved and perfected by God, and enter a beautiful destination with Him. Otherwise, once we miss the return of the Lord, we will lose God’s salvation, fall into the great catastrophes of the last days, and be eliminated and punished. Here’s what God says about that:

All manner of disasters will befall, one after another; all countries and places will experience disasters: Plague, famine, flood, drought, and earthquakes are everywhere. These disasters are not just happening in one or two places, nor will they be over within a day or two; rather, they will expand across a greater and greater area, and become more and more severe. During this time, all manner of insect plagues will arise one after another, and the phenomenon of cannibalism will occur everywhere. This is My judgment upon the myriad countries and peoples.

In the vast expanse of the world, oceans silt into fields, and fields flood into oceans, countless times over. Except for He who holds sovereignty over everything among all things, there is no one who is able to lead and guide this human race. There is no “mighty one” to toil or make preparations for this human race, still less is there anyone who can lead this human race toward the destination of light and liberate it from the injustices of the world of man. God laments the future of mankind, He grieves at the fall of mankind, and is pained that mankind is marching, step by step, toward decay and the path of no return. No one has ever given thought to this: Where might such a mankind, who has thoroughly broken the heart of God and renounced Him to seek the evil one, be headed? It is precisely for this reason that no one tries to sense the wrath of God, that no one seeks the way that pleases God or tries to draw closer to God, and even more so that no one tries to appreciate God’s grief and pain. Even after hearing the voice of God, man continues on his own path, continues turning away from God, evading God’s grace and care, and shunning His truth, preferring to sell himself to Satan, the enemy of God. And who has given any thought to, should man persist in his obduracy, how God will treat this mankind that so utterly disregards Him? No one knows that the reason for God’s repeated reminders and exhortations toward man is that He has prepared in His hands a calamity like never before, one that will be unbearable to the flesh and soul of man, not merely a punishment of the flesh, but one that targets the soul of man. You need to know this: What kind of rage will God unleash when His plan falls through, and when His reminders and exhortations are not repaid? It will be like nothing that has ever been experienced or known by any created being. And so I say, this calamity is without precedent, and will never be repeated. For God’s plan is to create mankind only this once, and to save mankind only this once. This is the first time, and it is also the last. Therefore, no one can appreciate the painstaking intentions and fervent anticipation with which God saves mankind this time.

The work of God surges onward like a mighty wave. No one can detain Him, and no one can halt His march. Only those who listen carefully to His words, and who seek and thirst for Him, can follow His footsteps and receive His promise. Those who do not shall be subjected to overwhelming disaster and well-deserved punishment.
