752 The Value of the Life of Job
Verse 1
Where was the value of Job’s life testimony?
To man, Job represented the humanity,
the very people whom God wishes to save,
in bearing a resounding testimony to Him.
Job testified to God before Satan and the world,
and fulfilled the duty that should be fulfilled.
He showed an example for those God wishes to save
that they can beat Satan by relying on Him.
Chorus
What Job lived out in his lifetime
and his remarkable triumph over Satan
will be cherished by God forever.
Job’s purity, his uprightness,
his fear of God will be honored, emulated
and echoed by generations to come, to come.
Verse 2
To God, the value of Job’s life lay in his fear;
Job feared Him, worshiped Him, bore witness to His deeds.
He praised the actions of God, bringing Him comfort.
Job brought God joy and made Him very pleased.
To God, the value of Job’s life before his end
was also in how he faced trials and beat Satan,
and bore resounding testimony to God
before Satan and the people of the world.
Pre-chorus
He glorified God among mankind.
He brought comfort to God’s heart.
God’s eager heart beheld that result
and hope ignited in His heart.
Chorus
What Job lived out in his lifetime
and his remarkable triumph over Satan
will be cherished by God forever.
Job’s purity, his uprightness,
his fear of God will be honored, emulated
and echoed by generations to come.
Bridge
Job’s testimony set a precedent
to stand firm in one’s testimony to God,
for being able to shame Satan for God
in His work of managing all of mankind.
Job brought comfort to God’s heart,
and he gave Him a foretaste of delight of being glorified.
He gave a good start to God’s management plan,
and his name became a symbol for God’s glory,
a sign of mankind’s triumph over Satan.
Chorus
What Job lived out in his lifetime
and his remarkable triumph over Satan
will be cherished by God forever.
Job’s purity, his uprightness,
his fear of God will be honored, emulated
and echoed by generations to come, to come.
Outro
Job will always be cherished by God,
just like a flawless, shiny pearl,
and by man should be treasured.
