Question 3: Even if man lives out a bit of God’s image, he still won’t ever be God. I totally admit that. By saying that man can be God as long as he lives out His image, we are not referring to the God with His person, but referring to the God with God’s life disposition but without God’s person. If we live out God’s image, we’ll become God with the life of God, only without God’s person. So, in that sense, the viewpoint “God became man that man may become God” seems tenable.
Answer: God is the Creator. There is only one God as opposed to many. God’s life substance and His disposition are unique to Him. It’s impossible for God to make other Gods, for what He created was mankind, and it is also mankind that He’d save and gain finally. God never claimed that He would make man God. Almighty God says, “Since all people say that God is the only one true God, then there is a single God, divisible at will by none! God is only one Spirit, and only one person; and that is the Spirit of God” (“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). God is unique. He is the only true God, not divided into separate persons. God incarnate is that God’s Spirit assumes the flesh to work and save man. The phrase “God’s person” is simply false. Just as the Lord Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” So it’s confirmed that the thought that God has different persons is a deceptive fallacy and comes from Satan, with the intention of disrupting and disturbing God’s work. According to what you say, God can be divided into the God with His person and also the God only with His life disposition but without His person. If so, there’d be more than one God and He wouldn’t be unique. Therefore, what you say is polytheistic, with no basis in the Bible, not in accord with God’s word. It’s wrong. In fact, God without His person but with His life disposition doesn’t even exist. True believers in God only want to be saved by Him to break free from Satan’s influence and thus become a man with truth and humanity. Their greatest goal is to satisfy God. However, those who wish to be God are Satan, the archangel. Those who fabricate such fallacies, claiming “God became man that man may become God”, do so on the part of Satan to sabotage God’s work. They are antichrists who deceive man. This is unquestionably true.
To be honest, even if man experiences the work of God to the end, and is able to live out God’s image after he’s perfected, he still can’t become God. Because in the beginning, God created man in His image, and Adam and Eve had God’s glory in them, but can we say that Adam and Eve are God? God never says they’re God. He says that they’re human. They are man who did not have the truth and were corrupted by Satan. The work of God’s two incarnations is to save and perfect mankind, and to make them the ones with truth and humanity. So they can obey and worship God and become holy people. It’s certainly not to make man God. Let’s read the word of Almighty God. “The first incarnation was to redeem man from sin through the flesh of Jesus, that is, He saved man from the cross, but the corrupt satanic disposition still remained within man. The second incarnation is no longer to serve as a sin offering but to fully save those who were redeemed from sin. This is done so that those forgiven can be delivered from their sins and be fully made clean, and attain a change in disposition, thereby breaking free of Satan’s influence of darkness and returning before the throne of God. Only in this way can man be fully sanctified. God began the work of salvation in the Age of Grace after the Age of Law had come to an end. It is not until the last days, when God has fully purified mankind by doing the work of judgment and chastisement of man for rebelliousness, will God conclude His work of salvation and enter into rest” (“The Mystery of the Incarnation (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). The object of God’s salvation in His six-thousand-year management work is man. It is because man began to resist and betray God and fell into sins after Satan’s corruption that God began His work of salvation. The purpose of God’s saving mankind is to save man from the influence of Satan, to have their satanic disposition cast away and be cleansed, so that man can obey and worship God as well as be after God’s heart. God never means to make man God. And He never said that He would make man God either. Man’s been deeply corrupted by Satan. If they can be saved by God, gain the truth, become the man with the truth and humanity, and become holy, then they’re more than blessed. Why they’re still so ambitious? Why can’t they just be satisfied with their salvation, but even want to be God? Isn’t this Satan’s disposition, the archangel’s great ambition? Because of its ambition to be God and to stand equal to God, God struck the archangel down from heaven. From this we can see all those who strive to be God and who spread fallacies about becoming God, have severely offended God’s disposition and committed a heinous crime. It’s Satan’s interruption and disturbance of God’s work and Satan’s corruption and deception of man to instigate them to oppose God. This is sure to be cursed by God!
