How to Pursue the Truth (27)
Regarding the topic of “letting go” in “How to Pursue the Truth,” we fellowshipped up to the content involving notions and imaginings within the subject of “letting go of the barriers between oneself and God and one’s hostility toward God.” The past few times, we fellowshipped on “letting go of notions and imaginings about God incarnate.” Today we will continue fellowshipping on this. Regarding notions and imaginings about God incarnate, we fellowshipped on some topics involving the normal humanity of God incarnate, right? So what did we fellowship on last time? We fellowshipped on some specific manifestations involving the living out and revelations of the normal humanity of God incarnate, as well as some principles of self-conduct and doing things within the normal humanity of God incarnate, and then we fellowshipped on what things God incarnate does not do in terms of His humanity. Fellowshipping on these aspects helps people better understand the disposition essence of God’s incarnate flesh and His principles of self-conduct and doing things, as well as some of His specific manifestations and revelations. When we fellowship about these manifestations of God incarnate—whether in the form of facts, examples, or specific principles for doing things—they involve all kinds of minor matters in life. They don’t seem to involve any of the great, pioneering feats or noble actions worthy of admiration that exist in people’s notions and imaginings; God incarnate’s manifestations are all very common and very ordinary. Precisely because God incarnate lives among this ordinary, corrupt humankind, these normal and practical manifestations of His are, in one respect, the inevitable manifestations of the humanity of God’s incarnate flesh, and in another respect, a normal need of God incarnate living among humankind. Of course, these normal and practical manifestations also provide people with some information or paths regarding knowing God. They allow people to know God’s practicality and normality through the incarnate God’s practical living out and practical principles of self-conduct among people, and also to know the God in heaven, enabling them to more accurately understand the God in heaven, and accurately understand His essence as a normal, ordinary person on earth.
Some people say, “These things and examples You talk about involving the normal humanity of God incarnate are all very ordinary; they are all very insignificant and unremarkable things in daily life. Can You talk about some facts that feel mysterious and unfathomable, or that seem particularly grand?” To this I say, up to now, there really haven’t been any. God incarnate lives within the reality of normal humanity, and in a specific living environment, and apart from doing the work of God Himself, He spends the rest of His time within the scope of the life of His normal humanity, interacting with the brothers and sisters or handling some trivial problems in the church. So, apart from the examples we fellowshipped on involving the principles and credos by which He conducts Himself and does things, He does not carry out any of the great, pioneering feats or extraordinary deeds that you imagine. This may be unexpected to people, and it may not conform to people’s notions and imaginings, but this is how things are as a matter of fact. Our fellowship on the topic of God incarnate has mainly concerned some manifestations, living out, and specific principles of self-conduct and doing things of God incarnate in His normal humanity. This is different from how the deeds of great figures and famous people are recounted in the world. When people in the world talk about some great, famous, or exceptional figure, they always talk about how unique, extraordinary, and great they are, and they talk about their charisma, mainly focusing on how lofty and grand they are. However, what we talk about involving God incarnate is exactly the opposite of what the world says about those exceptional figures and great people. We mainly talk about how God incarnate is normal, practical, ordinary, and not extraordinary. We only talk about concrete examples—minor examples from daily life, at that—talking about what the principles and views involved in His self-conduct and doing things are. These thoughts and views, principles, and methods of self-conduct and doing things are all based on the conscience and reason of normal humanity. We mainly talk about how He conducts Himself and how He does things. In the world, however, very few people talk about how to conduct oneself. Even if some people have talked about this topic, they’ve been unable to give many specific examples, much less have they been able to express any principles of self-conduct. They do not talk about what positive principles, positive methods, or correct thoughts and views famous people and great figures have in conducting themselves and doing things. They only talk about their achievements, their talent and learning, and their spirit, and they also talk about what kind of dominant position they occupy among humankind because of these things. What they talk about is exactly the opposite of the normal humanity possessed and borne by God incarnate that we are fellowshipping on today. What God’s incarnate flesh lets you know and understand are the principles and credos of self-conduct and doing things that are lived out and possessed within His normal and practical humanity. These principles and credos of self-conduct and doing things correspond perfectly to God’s requirements for the humankind He intends to save. God’s incarnate flesh possesses such humanity, and possesses the various thoughts and views—along with His principles and credos of self-conduct and doing things—within this normal and practical humanity. It is only because of this that He can represent God in doing the work of God Himself, and complete the work and ministry that God incarnate ought to perform well in this age, within such humanity, that He can fully make known to humankind the representative disposition that God intends to express in this age, and—of course—be fully competent for the work of expressing the truth that God intends to do in this stage of work. If the humanity essence lived out, revealed, and possessed by God’s incarnate flesh were not this normality, practicality, and ordinariness that we’ve been fellowshipping on, or if He did not possess these principles and credos of self-conduct that we’ve been fellowshipping on, but instead possessed the humanity essence of the famous people and great figures that nonbelievers talk about and revere, what would this result in? (He would not be able to lead us to walk the way of fearing God and shunning evil.) It would result in a completely different situation. Suppose that God’s incarnate flesh possessed the humanity essence of a nonbelieving great figure or famous person—a person who is towering, extraordinary, unique, mysterious and unfathomable. This kind of person has no boundaries in conducting themselves and doing things, lies constantly, and does not conduct themselves or do things in a rule-abiding or well-behaved manner, and does not know their place or act dutifully, and their pursuits, thoughts, and views are the same as those of nonbelievers—just pursuing lofty and grand things, and focusing on gifts, knowledge, and supernatural abilities. What kind of path would this kind of person lead you onto? (They would not be able to lead us onto the path of salvation. On the contrary, those who followed them would only become increasingly corrupt and wicked.) Such a person does not have positive principles of self-conduct; their methods and principles of self-conduct are not positive, but satanic. Thus, the principles and credos of self-conduct of this person who is of Satan are highly representative of their humanity essence. What are the pursuits of and path walked by a person with this kind of humanity essence? They are exactly the same as Satan’s. Their pursuits and the path they walk all come from Satan and are compatible with Satan. Then wouldn’t those who followed them follow their leadership, have the same pursuits as them, and walk the same path? (Yes.) Those people would follow their leadership, imitate their principles of self-conduct, and, like them, pursue knowledge, status, supernaturalness, and lofty and grand things, everything that is extraordinary, and everything that seems mysterious and unfathomable to people. No one could attain salvation by following such a person; instead, they would become increasingly degenerate. Such a group could not be called a church, mainly because they all would have divorced themselves from God’s work and would not have the work of the Holy Spirit. The leader they followed would not be established by God, much less sent by God. Even if they all called themselves a church, it would be of no use; God would ignore them. No matter how much they all called themselves a church, God would not acknowledge them, and the Holy Spirit would not work on them. That leader would teach people to do whatever it is they like; they would provide people with whatever they possess within themselves, and that is what people would gain from them. They do not have the truth, and could not provide people with any positive things or guide them in the correct direction, so it would be impossible for people to gain the truth from them. At best, people would only be able to acquire a bit of knowledge and learn some professional skills from the nonbelieving world or some capabilities in a particular field from them. In short, someone like this, who does not possess normality and practicality, or the divine essence as their life, could not be called God incarnate; they could not bring people before God, nor could they lead people onto the path of salvation. Looking at these facts, among humankind, is there anyone other than God’s incarnate flesh who can represent God to do His work? (No.) Is there anyone who can represent God to save humankind from their corrupt dispositions? (No.) The life and humanity essence possessed by any member of ordinary humankind are virtually all the same—such life and humanity essence have all been corrupted by Satan; for people, corrupt dispositions are their life. Thus, whether viewed from the perspective of people’s humanity or people’s life essence, not a single person among all of humankind is competent for this work of God incarnate, nor can any corrupt human being represent God to save corrupt humankind from corruption. Naturally, these facts also tell people: No corrupt human being can tell humankind what positive things are and what negative things are, and no corrupt human being can tell people what the truth is or what God’s intentions actually are. What corrupt humans provide to other people is only knowledge, as well as the various skills, capabilities, or gifts pursued by corrupt humankind, and various tactics of self-conduct and doing things, philosophies for worldly dealings, and various thoughts and views that come from Satan. Human beings of all races share a common trait. What is this common trait? They all regard the relatively positive, or relatively well-intentioned, conservative, and traditional things among themselves, as positive things, and try to replace the truth and God’s intentions with them. People believe that by holding on to these things, they have gained the true way and can attain salvation. In fact, these things have absolutely nothing to do with God’s requirements for humankind. You see, among humankind, no matter how shrewd people are, no matter how great their gifts or how talented and learned they are, or how kind and benevolent their humanity may seem on the outside, not a single person can understand the truth, and not a single person can discern what positive things are and what negative things are. Before God did His work, and before God expressed His words, nearly everyone regarded traditional culture as a positive thing, and some people even revered traditional culture as the truth. Therefore, no matter how you look at it, if it were not God incarnate expressing these truths and doing this work within normal humanity, but instead any member of humankind doing this work, they would only lead people onto a path that deviates from God’s words and intentions.
Let’s look at a simple example. If people are asked to choose costumes for a dance program, how will they choose? In theory, everyone knows that when believers in God produce a dance program, especially for a video that will be published online, the clothes they wear and their demeanor represent God’s people. So, the costumes chosen should be dignified and upright, not outlandish outfits. When it comes to being dignified and upright, there’s a lot that goes into it. Going by people’s notions, what kind of clothing is considered dignified and upright? It is the clothing that various ethnic groups wear most commonly, clothing that is relatively traditional and conservative and looks appropriate to everyone. It is not outlandish or overly trendy. This is what, going by people’s notions, they consider to be dignified and upright clothing. What are the views of most brothers and sisters in the church regarding choosing costumes for programs? You see, when filming a movie, the views held by the person in charge of costumes actually represent the views of most people. The clothing styles they choose are all those commonly worn by most people in the eighties and nineties. The colors are mostly blue, khaki, or gray, with only variations in how dark or light they are. Overall, it’s just those two or three simple colors. Why don’t they choose some bright colors? According to people’s notions, believers in God are all dignified and upright good people, so they should choose these few most common, most ordinary colors for their clothes. You see, such a simple matter as choosing the style and color of costumes completely reveals the notions and the fallacious thoughts and views about believing in God in people’s hearts. That is, people harbor a very serious notion within them; many people believe that believing in God requires sticking to the old ways and restoring tradition. According to their notions, only traditional, old, backward, and stale things are positive things, and only these are what pleases God. Is this what most people think? (Yes.) This is what’s in people’s minds. People all define those traditional, backward, old, and antiquated things as positive things. Therefore, in program production, people cannot even make accurate choices regarding the colors and styles of costumes, which is one of the simplest and most basic matters. They all measure this issue using their notions, and are particularly conservative, as well as particularly foolish and stubborn. Tell Me, just how many notions must people have about God! The positive things defined by people, and the things people think God likes, are all traditional culture as conceived in people’s notions, or the things among humankind that are accepted and recognized by worldly people; they have absolutely nothing to do with the truth. So tell Me, am I a traditionalist or a modernist? (God is neither a traditionalist nor a modernist.) Some people say, “Through what You have fellowshipped, we know that You do not like traditional culture, because You live in the present. At the very least, You are not traditional, and You do not stick to the old ways.” You say I am not traditional, so am I a modernist? (No.) How can you tell that I am not a modernist? (People in the world today are rather fond of trends, but God teaches us to be dignified and upright, which runs counter to trends.) It’s not just people today who like trends; people in ancient times also liked trends. Nonbelievers all like trends. Liking trends does not mean one is a modernist. So how should this question be answered? Ponder it for a bit. Have you ever seen Me wear ancient clothing? Do I wear traditional clothing? I wear modern clothing. This involves the normal humanity of God incarnate. Whichever age God incarnate lives in, and whatever level of development people of that age have reached in terms of handling basic necessities, His normal humanity naturally adopts the same method as they do for this; He will not go backward. Is this not a manifestation of normal humanity? (Yes.) His normal humanity has rationality, so when it comes to basic necessities, He naturally knows what is appropriate to choose. This is in one regard. In another, whether it is tradition or modernity, it is not a form, but rather represents a trend of thought and a viewpoint. So is tradition positive, or is modernity positive? The way I see it, neither is positive. Neither has anything to do with the truth; both are produced by corrupt humankind under the influence of Satan. Whether it’s traditional thoughts and views, or modern thoughts and views, whatever doesn’t come from God is a negative thing, not a positive thing. Whether it’s traditional basic necessities, or modern basic necessities, their purpose is always to satisfy the needs of normal humanity. No matter which age God incarnate is born into, He lives within normal and practical humanity, and His principles of self-conduct and doing things do not change. In everything He does and in His treatment of everything, He acts according to the principles of God’s words and the principles that arise from His inner life disposition; He does not preserve or follow tradition, nor does He follow modernity or chase trends. Therefore, the requirements of the incarnate God for those who follow Him are neither based on tradition nor influenced by modernity. The various thoughts and views or truths that He possesses and fellowships all originate from God, from God’s divine essence and God’s life; they have nothing to do with either traditional culture or modern knowledge.
When looking at the costumes chosen for the dance programs produced by God’s house, have you been able to discern any principles? Why were those styles and those colors chosen? If you can understand the principles here, then you truly understand a bit of the truth, and you have spiritual understanding; if you cannot even understand the principles in such a simple matter, then you are a muddleheaded person whose caliber is too poor, and you have not understood the truth despite listening to sermons for so many years. To start with, when we produce dance programs, are the clothes the performers wear traditional or modern? (They’re modern.) They’re all modern clothes—ordinary, everyday outfits at that. Some people do not understand, saying, “Our dance programs are artistic programs, so why do the performers just wear ordinary, everyday outfits instead of stage costumes? Outfits with beads and sequins on them are particularly gorgeous. Look at the outfits worn on stage by those national-level dance troupes—they’re gorgeous, exquisite, and regal, and they look dazzling when the lights hit them. If our performers also wore such outfits when we produce programs, wouldn’t that make them look better and glorify God more? Wouldn’t it better manifest the power of God’s house, and better allow nonbelievers or religious people to see the strength of God’s house?” Is this viewpoint correct? (No.) Tell Me this, first of all—why do the performers wear ordinary, everyday outfits instead of gorgeous costumes when we produce dance programs? (If the brothers and sisters all wear particularly gorgeous costumes when dancing, the audience will focus on the clothes and what the performers look like. But if they wear ordinary clothes and look like dignified and upright people, the audience will not be attracted by these outward things, and will focus their minds on God’s words.) You are right about one thing—not wearing gorgeous costumes is to prevent people from focusing on form and outward appearance. There’s also another point, which is most important: Whether it’s dancing or singing, when we produce programs, what is the purpose? (To bear witness to God.) This is the only goal. Whether dancing or singing, it’s all to bear witness to God. It’s not to highlight any individual, nor is it to please anyone; it is just to bear witness to God. So, it is enough for the performers to wear simple, well-fitting, dignified and upright, and tasteful clothes that achieve the purpose of bearing witness to God. By nature, the programs we produce are not entertainment programs. What are entertainment programs? Entertainment programs are things people watch for recreation in their spare time; they are just to please people. When people rest, they watch a program to have fun, relax, feel happy, forget their worries, and relieve stress. Afterward, they go back to whatever work they have to do, without dwelling on it or having any feelings about it. This is what entertainment programs are. What about the programs we do? In terms of form, they are entertainment, but in essence, they are not to please the public, nor are they to show off artistic skill. The goal of the programs we produce is to bear witness to God. For example, when producing hymn programs, the purpose of hymns of God’s words is to bear witness to and propagate the truth of God’s words, allowing people to come before God; the purpose of experiential hymns is to bear witness to the effects achieved by God’s work and the results God’s work has produced in people. In short, no matter what kind of programs we produce, they are not purely entertainment programs. Their purpose is not to catch people’s eyes or help people kill time and entertain themselves, much less is it to show off artistic skill. There is only one goal for the programs we produce, which is to propagate God’s words and bear witness to God’s work, letting more people know that God has become flesh and has been carrying out a new stage of work, letting more people know that God’s work has already gained a group of people, and that God is working and speaking now. This is the sole purpose of the programs we produce. Since this is the purpose of the programs we produce, if people wear gorgeous clothes and heavy makeup, and have all sorts of getups, doesn’t that conflict with the goal of bearing witness to God? (Yes.) That is a conflict. Therefore, we do not focus on what the performers wear. What is the only thing we focus on? We focus only on whether what the programs present—the brothers’ and sisters’ demeanor, the dance movements, and the form of the programs—can draw people’s attention, and whether they can get people to like them and become interested in them, thereby giving people a favorable impression and helping people become willing to investigate God’s work, accept God’s words, and sing hymns and worship God together with the brothers and sisters—this is the purpose we want to achieve. To achieve this purpose, as far as the outfits and appearance of the performers go, they just have to look dignified and upright, clean and neat, and have a particularly good demeanor; as for the rest—gorgeous costumes, heavy makeup, and all kinds of getups—those all have negative effects. What negative effects? If the dancing sisters are all dressed up like celestial maidens, and the brothers are all dressed up like handsome guys or wealthy heirs, when people see this, they will think, “You are showing off. Aren’t you harboring ill intentions? Aren’t you seducing people?” If people have these thoughts, that is not good. The brothers and sisters dress in a dignified and upright, and tasteful and appropriate manner. Although, overall, they may not look elegant, they are particularly clean, neat, dignified, and tasteful. When people look at them, they see that these people have a good demeanor, that they are believers in God, and that the program they are producing is one that bears witness to God, not something crooked or evil. You see, nonbelieving programs are all about making eyes, blowing kisses, or showing off the performers’ figures. While dancing, besides showing off their craft, the performers also flaunt their charms, offering not the slightest positive guidance. In contrast, the programs we produce convey wholly positive guidance. Even if viewers do want to harbor improper thoughts, they find no opportunity or loopholes by which to do so. If they want to check out the performers’ figures and facial features, they can’t get a good look; if they want to see who’s flaunting their charms, they cannot see that either. They only see one expression—a smile—presenting an entirely dignified and upright bearing. Most importantly, our programs are not about showing off or pleasing anyone, but are for bearing witness to God; this is a core principle. In addition, regarding the clothing styles we chose for the dance team—T-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants—people might feel quite comfortable dancing in them, but some young people might not really like them based on their own tastes. They feel that these styles are too ordinary, that it’s just everyday casual wear, stuff you wear around the house, but this is exactly what dignified and upright clothes are. T-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants are the most common styles of casual wear nowadays. Why do we choose these styles? I have observed that it has probably been at least several decades by now since this style of casual wear first appeared. We choose this style for our programs now out of consideration of the fact that even in another few decades, it will not be outdated or obsolete. Moreover, this style is suitable for people of all age groups and all social classes; whether they are ordinary people or upper-class people, they all wear such clothes at home in their daily lives. Furthermore, these clothes are loose and comfortable for dancing. Thus, we eventually decided on this style of clothing for the stage costumes. Regardless of whether the people wearing them on stage like them or not, this style is suitable for the stage; that is, neither the viewers nor the wearers can find any fault with such clothes. The wearers might say, “These clothes You chose for us are too tacky; I would absolutely never wear such clothes in my daily life.” My reply to that is that I do not interfere with what you wear in your daily life. What you wear and what you like represent who you are; they represent your humanity and essence. If you do not like simple, tasteful, dignified, and upright clothes, but instead like outlandish clothes, then you are quite unconventional. If you like baring your chest and back, wearing your hair down, and donning big sunglasses, always acting like a celebrity, then I say you are not a member of God’s house. You do not like being dignified and upright; at the very least, you are incompatible with Me. Being dignified and upright, and tasteful and appropriate—this is the principle for choosing clothing styles. Then how should the clothing colors be chosen? Some people say, “White represents holiness, green represents life, red represents festivity, and yellow represents friendship, so we should just choose these colors.” I say this is pure nonsense; colors do not represent anything. Then what is the principle for which colors to wear? It is very simple; there is just one principle: It must look clean on camera. In particular, some colors are highly saturated and quite bright, and people might rarely wear them in their daily lives, but we chose these colors for the stage effect and the visual effect they provide. In one respect, these colors are relatively highly saturated and bright, so the stage effect they provide is good. In another respect, most of these colors are not very weird; there are no dull ones, and none that repulse people, so videos produced in this way have a good effect.
What I just fellowshipped on were principles for choosing dance program costumes. Which aspects of these have you seen clearly? Tell Me, are these principles I have considered appropriate? (Yes.) It mainly revolves around the principles of bearing witness to God, not bringing shame upon God, and achieving the best results, does it not? (It does.) Are there any aspects of this that are distorted or extreme? (No.) Is there any element of sticking to the old ways? (No.) In no way is it distorted or sticking to the old ways. So do these principles of ours for choosing costumes follow tradition, or do they follow modernity? (They follow neither tradition nor modernity; as long as the programs we produce can achieve the result of bearing witness to God, that is the best.) You have finally understood; the purpose of these programs is to bear witness to God, and nothing else. Bearing witness to God requires considering that we must not bring shame upon God or make God’s house look bad. Of course, we must also consider that the fabric and style of the costumes should be comfortable to wear. That is to say, any dignified and upright person who sees you wearing these clothes would think of them as acceptable, that you look like a believer in God, and that you are able to represent God’s people, rather than come off as a nonbeliever, or some movie star or singer—and at a single glance, one can tell that you’re a dignified and upright person. Judging by this, do you think that My viewpoints for treating things and the principles I follow within My normal humanity are the same as yours? (No.) They are definitely not the same. So tell Me, are these principles I follow lofty and grand? Are they extraordinary? They are not lofty and grand at all. They are particularly normal. The principles I adopt and the results I aim to achieve in doing things are all highly practical, and I never show off. If we were to go by the way you all view things, in choosing costumes for programs we’d either be traditional and stick to the old ways, or follow worldly trends. Some people say, “Smokey eye makeup, false eyelashes, nose rings and big earrings are popular in the world. We too should dress the brothers and sisters to be handsome and beautiful. Not only should their clothes be gorgeous, but their makeup should be seductive. They shouldn’t be outdone by the singers and movie stars of the world, and should look even classier and more lavish. Believers in God should be more noble than them, so this is the direction we should take when dressing the performers.” So why is it that these performers don’t end up going out on stage with a single gorgeous item on them? Because I am here vetting everything. Whether they are modernists or traditionalists, they have all been shunted aside—they don’t have any opportunities to flaunt their “skills.” They’ve been restrained by Me. If you were the ones doing the vetting, would you give these people the opportunity to flaunt their “skills”? (No.) Why not? (If given the opportunity, they would go off the rails. They wouldn’t follow the principles required by God’s house.) If given the opportunity, they would dress the performers up as demons. They would produce entertainment programs like those popular in society, turning programs intended to bear witness to God into entertainment programs that please the public, and making the people that feature in them look like demons and ghosts. Would the programs still be watchable then? The programs would change in nature; they would not be bearing witness to God but bringing shame upon God, and they would deserve to be cursed and banned. This would not be doing a duty, but doing evil. Do you understand? (Yes.) You did not even understand such a minor matter. Now that I have put it more plainly and simply, some people have a sudden realization: “So that’s how it is. Now I know why God’s house chooses such costumes for its dance programs.” No matter what age it is, what is the principle people should follow? It is to take the word of God as the principle in all things. In doing any item of work or handling any matter, your first goal should be to edify people, and your second should be to bear witness to God’s work. These are the two principles. So, in all matters, these are the two principles people should abide by. The normality and practicality possessed within the normal humanity of God incarnate, then, also consist solely in following these principles. The principles do not change; God incarnate neither follows tradition nor modernity. The principle that I abide by within My normal humanity is to conduct Myself and do things within the scope of conscience and reason. So what principles do I follow in doing the work of God’s house? It is to benefit people in everything I do—doing things that benefit and edify them. In addition, it is to do the work of bearing witness to God, following the principles of bearing witness to God and propagating God’s words. Would you say this is the case? (Yes.) By fellowshipping like this, do you now understand Me better? (Yes.) If I don’t talk about these things in detail, you won’t be clear on them. You cannot even fathom such a simple matter. In fact, it’s not profound at all; it’s all very practical and ordinary. How ordinary is it? It highly conforms to the rationality of normal humanity. That is to say, if you have the rationality of normal humanity, you can understand it, but if you do not, it will be very difficult for you to understand—I’ll have to explain it clearly and thoroughly, putting it plainly and spelling it out for you, before you can understand what is going on. It’s such a simple matter, not even amounting to the level of the truth principles, yet you still cannot explain it clearly. What is going on here? Is this matter profound and unfathomable? (No.) Then why can’t you explain it clearly? Broadly speaking, it’s because you do not understand the truth. On a more detailed level, it’s because your normal humanity and rationality lack certain things and have defects. When it comes to being dignified and upright, you stick to tradition and to the old ways. When it comes to normal humanity, you think that having normal humanity means being guileless, like a fool. Doesn’t this show that your caliber is truly poor and that you do not have any comprehension ability? (Yes.) That is exactly the problem. Alright, that’s enough on that.
Last time, we fellowshipped on the topic of God incarnate “not scheming” within the subject of “not putting the incarnate God on a par with corrupt humankind.” Today, we will fellowship on the topic of “not attacking others.” Not attacking others is part of the essence and living out possessed by the normal humanity of God incarnate, and is one of the principles that the conscience and reason of normal humanity follow when treating people. That is, God incarnate can, at the very least, get along peacefully with you. No matter what type of person you are, whether you are someone with better caliber or poorer caliber, or someone with better humanity or poorer humanity, the incarnate God can treat you correctly and get along with you amicably. If I discover that you have some defect or flaw, or even that you have some bad essence within your humanity, or that you’ve committed some evil deed, I will fellowship with you frankly if there is an opportunity or if conditions permit. If you can accept it, I will frankly expose your problems and point out the path to resolve them to you. But if you cannot accept it, I might, at an appropriate time, make use of a real-life problem I have discovered to remind you, expose you, and alert you, letting you know what your problem is—whether it is a problem with your humanity, your caliber, or a corrupt disposition of yours. Based on what problem you have, I will remind and admonish you, letting you know your inadequacies or where your problem lies, and then I will tell you what the essence of this kind of problem is and what God’s attitude toward people who have this problem is. If you are willing to accept it and are able to rebel against the flesh and practice the truth, I will tell you the path of practice, and how to treat and resolve this kind of problem. I will not seize upon your problems and flaws as leverage against you or as weak spots to exploit and then, from time to time, mock or ridicule you or make snide remarks about them. I will not do that; I will treat you and your existing problems justly and objectively. If I give you some reminders but you lack awareness and do not feel that what I’ve said has anything to do with you, or if I tell you that the nature of your problem is serious but you do not accept it, and you reject it, resist, and even come up with excuses to argue and to justify yourself, then I will assess things according to the situation. If the work you do is very important and your problem has affected the church’s work, then I will consider whether you are suitable for this duty. But if you are just an ordinary believer, and the duty you do and your manifestations do not have much impact on the church’s work or God’s chosen people, and it’s just your personal problem, then I will offer you reminders and help out of goodwill. If you do not take it seriously, I will not bear any grudge toward you, and of course, I will not try every possible means to force you to accept it. I will treat this matter very rationally, and I will continue to offer you reminders and help out of goodwill. If I can see that the essence of your problem will lead to negative consequences for yourself or others, then, prompted by My conscience, I will offer you reminders and help out of goodwill, rather than just watch you make a fool of yourself. I will also not casually characterize you, saying, “You are hopeless, God detests you, and you are one who will perish,” much less will I just open My mouth and curse you, saying, “You devil, you descendant of Satan, you who resist God.” I will absolutely not do this. Because My identity is special, I often restrain Myself very rationally: How I treat someone and how I speak to them must depend on who they are—this is one aspect. Additionally, I mustn’t casually characterize anyone. And for another thing, through My tone of voice, choice of words, or phrasing, I must make the other person feel that what I say and do is out of goodwill, and free of malice. As for My motive, I am sincerely trying to help you; I don’t want to see you take detours, nor do I want to see you become weak, hesitant, or even lose your bearings or go astray when you encounter things. Instead, I hope that after I’ve fellowshipped and helped you, you can view yourself correctly, avoid falling into negativity, have an accurate understanding of your corrupt dispositions and the problems you have, and treat yourself correctly, and then seek a path of practice from God’s words, and resolve your corrupt dispositions and your problems bit by bit according to God’s words, while also getting along amicably with others and helping them. That is, I strive to ensure that what I say and do when interacting with people can enable them to understand God’s intentions, know what principles God requires of people, what God’s attitudes and viewpoints are toward the various problems people have, how people should handle these problems in order to meet God’s requirements and satisfy God, and how they should seek the truth to resolve their problems. My aim is to help people correctly treat and resolve these problems when dealing with all kinds of people, events, and things, and when their corrupt dispositions are revealed, the ultimate result being that they submit to the truth and to God. Of course, based on the variety of people I have come into contact with over these years of working and speaking, I have come to recognize one fact: No matter how calmly I speak and converse with people, how much goodwill I have or what kind of mentality I have in wanting to help anyone, very few people can sense or understand what I say and the reason why I say it, and then, through the words I spoke and the content I fellowshipped with them, make progress or gain real, practical help in their real lives. But no matter how much people ultimately reap and gain through communicating and interacting with Me, My principles for interacting with people do not change. Some people say, “Then why don’t You change Your method?” Tell Me, why don’t I change My method? Should I change My method? When speaking to people, should I speak from a lofty position, as if proclaiming the Ten Commandments to Moses? Should My voice be like thunder in the sky, or should I adopt some kind of tone, so that people will be afraid, easily remember what I say, and be willing to practice and able to submit? Or when communicating with people, if I always speak to them in a tone of cursing and characterizing them, will people then learn their lesson? Will they then be able to accept it? (No.) Do you know why not? Back when Jehovah issued the Ten Commandments through Moses, the Israelites heard the sound of thunder in the sky and saw lightning—did this stop them from rebelling against and judging Jehovah? Regardless of the method you use to speak, the content of your words, or your motive in speaking, as far as the receiver is concerned, if they subjectively have the willingness and need to accept the truth and love positive things—if they have this need in their heart—then no matter what method you use to speak, they will be able to accept it and will easily remember it. However, if they do not have this need in their heart, then even if they know what positive things and negative things are, they will still not accept anything you say or take it to heart, no matter how correct it is, or how sound its source and motive are. Therefore, from My perspective, My principle for doing these things is that I fellowship normally with anyone. As for what one can gain and reap from Me, and whether they can gain the truth, the key lies in whether they love the truth, and also in whether they have the needs of normal humanity. If they innately love positive things, then when I interact and converse with them normally like this, they will be able to ponder what I said, what the principles behind these words are, and what I enjoined them to do; they will ponder these things afterward, keep them in mind, and then practice according to these words. If this person has no need for positive things in their humanity, then no matter what I say, it’s useless. Even if I prune them, discipline them, or even chasten them, it doesn’t do anything. After being chastened, they might act well-behaved and obedient on the outside, but because they have no need for positive things in their heart, once things have moved on, they will quickly return to how they were before, without any trace of positive words, positive things, or truth principles in their heart. Therefore, for people like this, no matter how much you say, you cannot change them so that they develop the needs of normal humanity. This is one aspect. In addition, not attacking others is basically one of My principles for how I treat you. No matter what type of person you are, whether you pursue the truth or not, even if I expose a certain problem of yours, it is merely to dissect the essence of this problem so that you can understand and know it thoroughly, make progress in the course of doing your duty in the future, stop making the same mistakes, and stop disturbing or undermining the church’s work—it is to help you, not to make trouble for you or find something to use against you. So, even if I bring up things that happened in the past, it’s not to dampen your enthusiasm or to hurt you, but to enable you to know the essence of your problems, achieve a thorough understanding of a certain aspect of the truth, have an understanding of yourself, know how to act in accordance with God’s intentions, and ultimately practice accurately according to the principles of God’s words. Do you have any appreciation of the fact that God incarnate never attacks others? (We have some.)
Besides not attacking others, God incarnate also encourages people from time to time. Some people have immature statures and are fragile; they’re not so strong in terms of their humanity, they lack perseverance in doing things, or they’re often constrained by all sorts of things, do not know how to seek the truth, and cannot do their duties normally. Under such circumstances, I will give them some encouragement to let them see the path ahead, so that they will no longer find themselves trapped within some matter and constrained by it. When you hear these words of encouragement, you may feel that what I speak of is beyond your reach, but My aim is to help you let go of the baggage brought on by your thoughts and notions, no longer be constrained by those things and leave them behind, and then put all your strength into your duty to satisfy God’s intentions. Some people have walked paths of failure before, or done things that violate the principles of God’s house, or had some obvious rebellious behaviors, and some people have even caused disruptions and disturbances with their actions, causing some losses to the church’s work. If I occasionally mention these things in My fellowship, My purpose is not to dampen your enthusiasm, nor am I bearing a grudge; rather, My purpose is to use the facts of your case as an example to remind others to not make the same mistakes—My purpose is to fellowship clearly on an aspect of the truth, to let more people see from this that the path you walked is wrong and how it is wrong, so they can draw lessons from it, and then to warn more people to not walk the same path, and to remind them what principles they should abide by in doing things. Especially when fellowshipping on and exposing people’s various corrupt dispositions, the examples I give or a specific state I fellowship on might involve many people, or might involve some specific people and things. The purpose of fellowshipping on these things is not to find an opportunity to lay you bare and embarrass you; as for the facts I bring up or the states I expose, they only have bearing on the topic and the aspect of the truth we’re fellowshipping on. It may be that I do not know you personally, and I don’t know that such a thing has happened to you, but the example I gave or the state I exposed happens to have occurred in you, and you match yourself up with it. When some people match themselves up with such things, they think, “Did someone tell on me? How do You know that this thing happened to me, and that I had this problem and was in this state?” I say that I really do not know that this kind of thing happened to a particular person or that they were in this kind of state, but the truths I fellowship on involve—or the problems I expose include—this state, this kind of problem, or this specific type of example. Because this kind of state and this specific type of example are representative, and can sufficiently allow people to know certain kinds of people, events, and things, and to know the essence of a certain kind of person, when giving examples, I cannot avoid citing some specific incidents that have occurred in the church or discussing certain specific states. As such, it’s unavoidable that some people, events, and things will be involved. But I don’t have the slightest intention of attacking certain people; My aim is just to remind and exhort people, allowing the majority of God’s chosen people to benefit. When I give some examples while delivering sermons and fellowshipping, it’s not directed at any particular person at all; it’s simply to fellowship on the truth and to expose the essence of a certain problem, so that you can be clearer on and better understand the essence of the problem. Through understanding the essence of the problem, whether you identify yourself as having this problem, or whether you see through the people, events, and things involved, you can come to practice according to the corresponding truth principles, use them to resolve the problems within yourself, and achieve entry into the truth reality. No matter what kind of problem I fellowship on, whether it’s a problem that exists within you or a problem that exists within others, I do it only to fellowship on the truth, and to help you better understand the essence and reality of a certain kind of problem; it’s not directed at any specific individual or any specific kind of person. Of course, it’s also possible that the archetype for the example I give when fellowshipping on a problem is something that happened to you, and I made use of this matter to provide an example. But in giving this example, I am not exposing a problem that is yours alone; rather, your problem is representative of the problems found in everyone—in all humankind. Of course, the purpose of exposing the problem is only to resolve the problem, not to attack you. So, when you encounter this kind of situation, you should treat it correctly; this is My job. My job is, in one respect, to provide you with all the truths, all aspects of the truth, and in another it is to expose the problems within you, the various states of corrupt humankind, and all the corrupt dispositions within them, as well as the problems involving corrupt dispositions. This is My job. Because My job, apart from providing the truth, also includes exposing the reality of corrupt humankind’s corruption, when it comes to this work, My motives are good. I want to help and support you, remind you and provide for you, so that you can see clearly the essence of the problem and become able to rebel against your corrupt dispositions, so that you no longer live within your corrupt dispositions, but are able to turn yourselves around, let go of the evil in your hands, repent to God, and practice according to the principles required by God, achieving submission to the truth and submission to God.
No matter what problems of yours I expose, and no matter what method or tone of voice I use when exposing these problems, I do so based on the principle and with the motive of helping you and supporting you to embark on the path of salvation. I don’t carry any malice—it’s entirely out of goodwill. Even if the words I sometimes use when exposing the essence of the problem within a certain individual or kind of person are not very refined, My purpose is not to attack or suppress anyone, but to dissect the essence of the problem so that people can have discernment and cast off their corrupt dispositions. Within this, there are no schemes, no intention to attack you or suppress you, and no intention to air your dirty laundry or embarrass you. Even if, when fellowshipping on some problems, I characterize the behavior or the disposition and essence of a certain kind of person, that characterization is fully in line with objective facts. For example, if you are arrogant and self-righteous, always act dictatorially, and have done things that cause disruptions and disturbances, and I say to you, “If you continue to do this and refuse to repent no matter what, then this is your essence, and God’s attitude toward you is to set you aside or spurn you,” are these words attacking you? No. Although these things are said in a certain context, and are put in this way, the provision and help I give you, and My expectations for you, do not change; you are still given an opportunity to repent. If you feel remorse, turn yourself around, and change, God’s house will still promote you to whatever kind of duty you’re suited for; I will never stand in the way of that. Everyone makes some mistakes when they first start believing in God and do not understand the truth, but some people are able to repent, and have done some good things and performed some good deeds. Suppose the brothers and sisters recommend them, saying, “This person has indeed repented and is different from how they used to be. Before, they were arrogant and dissolute, devoid of human likeness; they did some evil things, thereby disrupting and disturbing the church’s work and causing losses to God’s offerings, so the church cleared them out. But after being cleared out, they felt great remorse, and now they have repented. They even took the initiative to compensate for the losses, asked the church to accept them again, promised they would never do evil again, and are willing to be the least in the church, and submit to whatever God’s house asks them to do.” If people who are relatively close to them want to recommend them after gaining a thorough understanding of them, I say that if they have truly repented, and they’re needed for the work of God’s house now, they can be used again; I will not stand in the way. Even if a few individuals have done things that were not very friendly to Me personally, if they meet the conditions for promotion, I will likewise not stand in the way; I will give them an opportunity. Therefore, whether in sermons or in real life, and no matter the environment or context, I will treat you fairly and justly. In contexts where the environment permits, I will help you out of goodwill or ask about how you are doing in your duties. If it is in a special work setting, I will also do My best to help and support you, providing you with coaching, guidance, or help in some professional work. Sometimes what I’m doing is comparing notes with you and exchanging ideas with you. Even if I sometimes say, “The work you have done is not acceptable,” I am just telling the truth and being straightforward. I’m not saying such things to suppress you, but to exchange ideas or compare notes with you. I do My best to give you opportunities to speak and apply yourselves, so that your caliber, talents, the knowledge you’ve learned, the common sense you have, or the experience you have accumulated can be utilized to the fullest. If the results are not good, I just say, “The work you have done is not that great. Ponder and seek more, and see if you can do it better.” I always give you the utmost support, provision, and help, so that when you communicate and interact with Me, you can benefit, whether in life or in the course of doing your duty. This is My principle in work, and it is the same in My daily life. Sometimes, when I interact and communicate with people, we’ll inevitably talk about some trivial matters in daily life, involving external things like basic necessities, staying healthy, medicine, and so on, and some people mention some viewpoints, sayings, or common sense regarding trivial matters in life. Regarding all aspects of common sense, I merely express My personal viewpoints. If you think what I say is right, you can accept it; if you think what I say is wrong, I will not use My identity and status to suppress you, telling you, “Everything I say is right. No matter what tone I use, or whether you like what I say, could I possibly harm you or do you wrong? You must accept it!” I will not do this; I will let things take their natural course. For example, you put too much salt in your cooking, and I say that eating too much salt is bad for your health. Some people do not accept this; they feel that if they use less salt, the food will be tasteless and lack flavor. They insist on eating according to their own tastes. I say you’re free to do that, and I will not interfere. Although the saying “eating too much salt is bad for your health” does not rise to the level of the truth, it is common sense in life. As for this physical body that God created for people, there is a fixed amount of salt it needs per day; exceeding this amount will damage one’s body and result in consequences. There are also people who always feel they lack nutrients, so they constantly eat hearty foods. In the end, their excessive nutrient intake leads to health problems, and they have to make adjustments. The amount of nutrients this physical body created by God needs is related to the proportions of grain, vegetables, fruit, and meat that God created for humankind. If you eat according to these proportions, you can maintain basic health; if you disregard these proportions and eat recklessly and indiscriminately according to your preferences, you will develop health problems. I tell you these facts, but you don’t accept them. You think, “Giving sermons and fellowshipping the truth is Your strong suit, but You don’t understand these matters of daily life. I don’t have to listen to You, because this does not involve the truth.” I say you can choose to not accept it, and you can live according to your own preferences, but you must know that if you cannot accept My words, sooner or later you will develop health problems. You will pay the price for your choice. I am merely expressing My viewpoints; I will not use My status to suppress you. For another thing, if you do not accept My viewpoints, I will not force you, nor will I say that you are too foolish and stubborn for not accepting positive things. In fact, you really are like that, but I never say so. I won’t make a big fuss over something minor in daily life and then lecture and pontificate to you. I wouldn’t do that, because that is not My responsibility. I don’t want to do that either. I have already fulfilled My responsibility by fellowshipping and giving sermons; this is within the scope of My ministry. As for what you eat every day, you handle that yourself. What God created for humankind and in what quantities, and what foods and specialties are produced in each season—how you use all these things is your own business; you can allocate them yourself. If the conscience and reason of your humanity are normal and sound, you will use and allocate them in moderation. If your reason is not sound, you will use or allocate them in a way that’s excessive, and you alone will bear whatever consequences this ultimately brings upon your physical body. Therefore, I am very rational when it comes to this matter; I only tell you My viewpoints, and I will not force you to accept them. Sometimes, when I see that you have some bad living habits, I will not make you change them either; I’ll just give a simple reminder. If you do not accept it or change, I won’t say any more. Living habits are actually very easy to correct. Living habits that are wrong or undesirable should be corrected; this is an attitude of accepting positive things. Having the attitude and willingness to accept positive things is part of the basic rationality that should be present within normal humanity. Some people let positive things go in one ear and out the other. They don’t take them seriously, and even persist in their wrong ways of practice and wrong ways of doing things. Some people even say, “I have lived like this for so many years and there haven’t been any consequences.” This is a problem of disposition. What kind of disposition is this? It is one of stubbornness and intransigence, and of not accepting right viewpoints or positive things. I’m telling you, this is indicative of a corrupt disposition, and you must change it and cast it off. Your wrong ways of practice and that intransigent attitude of yours must be turned around; only then can you have true change.
Some people like to attack others; this is not good. If I see you do something wrong, I will rationally express My viewpoints and remind you out of goodwill. This is My way of doing things. In addition, if certain problems call for the exposing of your corrupt dispositions, then I will expose them without ceremony; this is being responsible to people. When I expose people’s problems, I expose the essence of the problems and show how they actually are; I do not apply regulations or blow things out of proportion. I do this because this is within the scope of My work, I expose what ought to be exposed, and I don’t say a word less than what needs to be said. Therefore, I have principles in doing things. In one respect, in daily life, I treat these matters based on the principle of rationality, letting you know what My viewpoints are. If you pay attention, take it to heart, and have the rationality of normal humanity, you will accept or correctly approach these thoughts and views, without Me needing to preach a sermon about it. In another respect, in work, I will not avoid your problems, nor will I hold back from speaking for fear of embarrassing you. I will expose your problems and your corrupt dispositions, so that you can come to know problems in this regard and cast off your corrupt dispositions. My aim is to enable you to embark on a path that is correct. Whether you have a problem in life or in work, if it involves corrupt dispositions or the truth, I will not avoid the problem; I will fellowship on it clearly with you. No matter how I fellowship or how I treat a problem, I have My methods and principles. When it is time for Me to fulfill My responsibility, I take it upon Myself to do so. I am not afraid of embarrassing you; I will expose your problems and corrupt dispositions so that you can come to know them. This is My responsibility. If your problems do not involve corrupt dispositions or truth principles, you have the freedom and the right to make choices and practice as you wish; I will not interfere. Therefore, whether I expose your problems or not, it does not involve attacking you, constraining you, or oppressing you. In daily life, for matters that do not involve principles, such as basic necessities, I give you ample freedom to choose for yourselves. However, if it involves a matter of principle—that is, if it involves corrupt dispositions, or involves your attitude toward doing work, doing your duty, God, or the truth—then I ought to fellowship on it. You see, no matter how I do something, I put thought into it, do I not? I have principles. For anything that does not involve the truth, your attitude toward God or the truth, or your attitude toward church work and doing your duty, I do not interfere; I mind My own business. Especially when it comes to matters of personal choice and personal preference, I never interfere. For example, some sisters like to keep their hair long, braid it, or wear it up, and some brothers like to keep their hair short or shave their heads; you have the freedom to do so, and I never interfere. Some brothers and sisters are picky eaters and particularly like to eat a certain kind of food, or they have a certain lifestyle habit that’s not good; I never interfere with these things either. If this bad lifestyle habit affects their health, their performance of duty, or the church’s work, I must remind them and help them, or have the brothers and sisters help them. However, some people do not accept it when the brothers and sisters help them, even saying they feel constrained and pressured; in the end, they quietly leave the church without telling anyone, and the brothers and sisters all feel disheartened. I say, “It’s wrong for you to feel disheartened. We do not interfere with people’s freedom. If they want to leave, then so be it; that is their choice. I do not feel disheartened at all.” Why do I not feel disheartened? Because I feel that helping them is My obligation, something I ought to do in My humanity. The help I provide to them is not some kind of favor or charity; it’s just that upon hearing about their situation, I am obliged to entrust you with helping them. They are doing their duty full-time in the church. If their bad lifestyle habit affects their health and they develop health problems, shouldn’t the brothers and sisters help them out of love? This is basic social morality for human beings. But if they do not accept this kind of help, and feel repulsed or pressured in their hearts, we won’t force them, and we won’t interfere with their freedom. Then why do some people feel disheartened when they leave the church? You feel disheartened because you feel that fulfilling your responsibility and obligation to them is a kind of favor to them. They did not appreciate it, did not accept this favor, and did not do as you wished, hurting your feelings and your pride. As the saying goes, they threw your goodwill back in your face, so you feel disheartened. I do not feel disheartened at all. The way I comprehend this is different from yours. I say that I must draw a lesson from this matter and not do this kind of foolish thing again in the future. Everyone has their own aspirations. You cannot subject people to your control and still expect them to feel happy and sing your praises, can you? That would be absolutely ridiculous. You must give people freedom and let them choose freely. If they feel that what you say is right, they can choose to accept it and practice according to these words; if they feel what you say is wrong, they can also choose to not accept it. They have the right to choose. You should not force them to accept your goodwill. Whether they accept it or not is a matter of attitude; they have the freedom to do so. At most you can fellowship on the problems that people like them have, and you can fellowship on the lessons you have drawn from this kind of person and the essence of the problems you’ve seen with them, which helps you learn how to discern people, how to view people, and how to treat people like this according to the principles of God’s words, and no longer do foolish things. Where do you go wrong, then? No matter who you help, you act based on feelings, and even think, “Look how much love I have, and how loving I am.” This is not acting according to principles, but treating people based on your own will and preferences; this is doing things based on feelings. No matter whom I speak to or deal with, I speak and act based on principles; feelings don’t enter into this. In speaking and acting, I act entirely out of conscience and goodwill, and this is the approach I ought to take with everyone. In particular, with brothers and sisters who are doing their duty normally, this is precisely how I ought to act. This is My obligation and responsibility. As long as I fulfill this responsibility, that is enough. They can choose to accept, or they can choose to refuse; I do not force people. If they accept, I am happy; if they do not, I don’t become sad. All I was doing was some of the things I ought to do according to principles; I was merely fulfilling My responsibility. Do you understand? (Yes.)
No matter what the environment is, when interacting with people, I can treat all kinds of people and all kinds of things according to principles. Even if, in life, I provide some help to people or say some things that edify people, this is also a part of doing things according to principles; it is not acting out of feelings. As for fellowshipping the truth, such as exposing people’s nature essence, exposing people’s corrupt dispositions, and exposing people’s various revelations of corruption and corrupt states in specific matters, as well as the essence of various problems, I also act according to principles; I do not act out of feelings, nor do I act with human will. When people do things, they always act based on who they are dealing with, and on their own mood and preferences. They show some favor to those they take a liking to and get along with, and give some benefits to these people, while they attack and exclude those they dislike and can’t get along with; they cannot treat people fairly. They either act based on feelings or commit evil deeds; in short, they don’t do things according to principles. When I associate with the brothers and sisters in the church, no matter who they are, I can treat them according to principles. Similarly, when interacting and associating with nonbelievers, I also have principles and boundaries. Even if they say some confrontational words, or words that are impolite, unrefined, or disrespectful, I will not respond tit for tat. If I must interact with them to get things done, then I will interact with them; if I do not need to get things done, then I will choose to avoid and refuse them. If a person is of low character and always wants to take advantage of others and demand benefits, and, even if I help them, they still cannot treat it correctly or change—meaning that their humanity is bad—then I just stay away from them. In short, whether I’m interacting with brothers and sisters or with nonbelievers, I can act according to principles; at the very least, I interact with people according to the boundaries of the conscience and reason of humanity. Can you achieve this? (No.) No matter who corrupt humans interact with, they always safeguard their own interests, or treat people based on feelings and preferences, without principles. If it is a brother or sister they feel that they get along with and have a good relationship with, then they can help them, show them love, give them things, and have close contact with them. But if this person does something that hurts their feelings, they say, “I will never see them again, and I will never interact with them again. I really regret it! I was so good to them before and helped them so much, yet they still treat me like this. They are an ingrate, an ungrateful wretch!” They cannot act according to principles to treat people fairly. When they are good to anyone, they do so out of feelings, and if they’re bad to anyone, it’s because of their personal preference; everything they do is just to satisfy their feelings. Therefore, if they help someone and benefit them, but that person not only is ungrateful but also hurts their feelings, they will be very sad and hurt, and they will complain, feeling that their efforts have gone down the drain. They will be unwilling to accept it, and will never do this again. Tell Me, if I encountered this kind of situation, how would I approach it? First, you cannot evaluate this matter from the perspective of people doing each other favors; you cannot judge this kind of situation based on feelings. You must discern people like this based on God’s words and the truth principles; you must discern their humanity and the path they walk, as well as their attitude toward God, toward the truth, and toward their duty, rather than discern and view them based on feelings. Viewing someone in this way is much more accurate. It is not evaluating a person or a matter based on feelings or your personal gains and losses, but evaluating them based on God’s words and the truth principles. Viewing a person or a matter in this way is accurate and in accordance with principles. When you view people and things in this way, you will not be sad and hurt because someone you once helped is ungrateful, nor will you feel deep gratitude toward someone because you once received a favor from them; instead, you will be able to treat them correctly according to principles. There is a common saying: “The kindness of a drop of water should be repaid with a gushing spring.” Ordinary people still live within the logic of such thoughts and views of traditional culture. They do not view things or people based on God’s words or the truth, nor do they treat people according to principles. They believe that, when it comes to how you treat people, in addition to not cheating them, harming them, hitting them, swearing at them, or doing evil things to them, you must also be good to them. In particular, if someone has shown you a favor, you should repay it in double; otherwise, you are ungrateful. Does treating people in these ways count as being good to people? (No.) Then what is truly being good to people? It is not loving, caring for, and looking after someone out of human feelings, but doing things based on principles according to God’s words. Most people cannot achieve doing things based on principles; people only do things based on feelings, not based on principles. Doing things based on feelings and doing things based on principles are vastly different; they are two different paths. Doing things based on feelings is adulterated by human will—when you help someone, it’s to satisfy the needs of your personal feelings; that’s not handling matters impartially. If this person feels deep gratitude toward you, you will continue to be good to them; if they do not appreciate it and wound your heart and hurt your feelings, you will not help them anymore. Then are you not acting without principles? (Yes.) This is acting without principles. Then what is doing things according to principles? It is fulfilling your responsibility as a person, helping others as needed, and letting them take it however they wish. If they are willing to accept your help, that’s great; if they’re unwilling to accept it, you should not say that they are not blessed, nor should you feel upset, sad, or disappointed, but should still treat them correctly. This is doing things according to principles. Have you understood this principle of “not attacking others”? (Yes.)
One of the principles of God’s incarnate flesh, as He lives among people and interacts and communicates with them, is to not attack them. Not attacking others involves principles for treating people and fellowshipping on the truth. Aside from not attacking others, God incarnate has another principle for treating people, which is to not take revenge. How do people view the matter of taking revenge? If someone is bullied or hurt and then justifiably strikes back or fights back, do people find this acceptable? (Yes.) But with God, is this a principle for how to treat people? (No.) Among humankind, anyone may take revenge, and everyone is capable of doing so; everyone has the instinct to take revenge, as well as the intention and desire to take revenge. If someone has verbally insulted you or hurt you, even if you cannot take revenge right now, you will still look for an opportunity to do so, to let them know that you have dignity, that you are not someone to be pushed around or trifled with, that you are not a fool, and that you have the reason of normal humanity, and can perceive things and make judgments. Then how do these thoughts of taking revenge on people come about? Do they come from the conscience and reason of normal humanity, or from the impetuousness of satanic corrupt dispositions? (From the impetuousness of satanic corrupt dispositions.) This is obvious. If someone is bullied, taken advantage of, or deceived by others, when they don’t have any status, they won’t have the opportunity to take revenge, and their conditions will not allow it, so they will bury all these things in their heart, where they turn into a kind of hatred. Because of this hatred, and because they received this unfair treatment, they can become hostile toward society, toward humankind, and toward everyone they view as an enemy. When any person has status, when the conditions allow, and they have the opportunity to do so, they are capable of committing acts of revenge, making those who once hurt them or looked down on them suffer their retaliation and get their just deserts. They feel that living this way is having backbone, and that they’ve finally unburdened themselves of this grudge. Among humankind, anyone who does this will not be condemned by society or by their conscience. So, people believe that taking revenge is not an improper, shameful thing, nor do they consider it a positive or negative thing. However, from the Age of Grace to this stage of work, you cannot find a single sentence in all the words spoken by God that tells people to take revenge on others. God has never told people, “If someone hurts you, or if someone has deceived you, you must take revenge, you must pay them back, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” Is taking revenge one of the principles for how to treat people that God has told you? (No.) In the Age of Grace, what did God tell people about how to treat others? With patience, tolerance, and love. What else? (Love your enemies, and if someone strikes your left cheek, turn the right cheek to them.) What else? Forgive others seventy times seven. The number “seventy times seven” is just representative; it does not really mean that many times. God says this to have you forgive all those who’ve done something wrong to you, to forgive them an infinite number of times; this is a principle. Patience, tolerance, deference, loving your enemies, turning the right cheek when the left is struck, and forgiving others seventy times seven—these are what was often spoken of in the Age of Grace. Then can the principles for treating people be derived from these words? What are the principles God requires people to follow in treating others? Do they include an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth? (No.) Do they include giving others a taste of their own medicine? (No.) Do they include taking revenge? (No.) None of these are included. Although each of these things God said in the Age of Grace is a specific type of behavior and practice, they are all the principles for treating others that God tells people. So, in this stage of work in the last days, what does God tell people about how to treat others? To treat people fairly, to look at their strengths and merits, not at their shortcomings and weaknesses. What else is there specifically? To not deceive, argue, or attack others, and to cooperate harmoniously with others. Are these all specific principles for how to treat people? (Yes.) No matter the age, not a single one of the specific principles God gives for how to treat others tells people to take revenge. Not a single one says, “If someone hurts you, hurt them; if someone hits you, you must hit them back; if they punch you, punch them back; if they curse at you, curse at them back.” God has never said a single word like this. God asks you to cooperate harmoniously with others and treat people fairly. The other person might be someone you look down on, someone who once hurt or deceived you, or someone who attacked you or judged you. But as long as they are someone who truly believes in God, you should treat them fairly and cooperate harmoniously with them. This is the principle, and this is the principle that a person with normal humanity ought to possess and abide by in how they treat others. People with the conscience and rationality of normal humanity will accept these truth principles and practice treating others fairly. Those who do not possess the conscience and rationality of normal humanity will treat these words as a kind of doctrine or religious teaching when they hear them. If someone infringes upon the interests, pride, status, or dignity of people who cannot accept the truth, they will expose their own impetuousness. Not only will they take revenge and demand payback from the other party, but they will even get back at the other party twice over, escalating their retaliation. If anyone has hurt them, offended them, affronted them by showing them disrespect, or had any verbal or even physical altercations with them, they will take revenge and get back at them twice over. They are simply unable to abide by the principles for how to treat people that God requires.
There are also many real examples involving the topic of God incarnate not taking revenge on people. God’s requirement of people for how they treat others is that they should abide by the principle of not taking revenge, because God incarnate possesses this kind of normal humanity, and this kind of humanity essence, in His real life and work environment. What does it mean that He possesses this kind of humanity essence? It means that He can strictly abide by such a principle of self-conduct in how He treats people, and strictly abide by this principle of self-conduct in how He lives among humankind and among groups of people. This is because He has such a life essence, and it is also because He has such a life essence that He has such a reality in His living. God incarnate lives among people practically; He leads a real life in which He deals and communicates with people—He does not live in a vacuum. Living in the flesh, He will inevitably come into contact, communicate, and deal with people. When interacting and dealing with corrupt humankind, He will inevitably be treated unfairly, disrespected, discriminated against, deceived, bullied, and judged in ways that are at variance with reality. How do I approach this kind of unfair treatment? Living among people these years, not to mention the various kinds of unfair treatment I was subjected to among nonbelievers, just in terms of the family setting, the local church, and all the upper-level leaders and workers and ordinary brothers and sisters I could come into contact with, tell Me, was everyone able to treat Me fairly? (No.) Definitely not. I’m the same as you—I have been an ordinary believer, and I have also been a member of a family. When I was a member of a family, I was subjected to all kinds of unfair treatment. In a family, among siblings, whoever is the most forceful has the final say, and the one who is guileless and sensible is always bullied and treated unfairly. Within the family setting, I remember a few specific incidents. In these incidents, if you were domineering, unreasonable, and kicked up a fuss, you would not be bullied or treated unfairly. But if you were sensible and treated these incidents rationally, you would be bullied. If others kicked up a fuss and were unreasonable, they would forcibly take advantage of you and act shamelessly. I do not know how to act shamelessly; I only know how to be sensible and treat such matters rationally, but being sensible meant I would be bullied. Look at this world: No matter what group of people it is, fairness and righteousness do not hold power. Whoever can act shamelessly, kick up a fuss, and force unreasonable arguments through gains the upper hand. The more sensible you are, and the more you value fairness, conscience, and rationality, the harder it will be for you to gain a foothold, and the more you will be bullied. It was like this for Me within the family too; I was bullied by other family members. In the local church, there were also some people who always discriminated against Me. I had not offended them or hurt them. Just because I was young at that time, acted a bit proactive and enthusiastic, and was willing to attend gatherings and participate in various activities, some people always looked at Me with prejudice and gave Me ill-intentioned looks. Moreover, they cursed at Me and judged Me behind My back, saying all sorts of nasty things. Later, when I went to churches in other places and lived together with the local brothers and sisters there, it was the same. No matter what I did, some people would develop notions, and some even mocked Me, belittled Me, and judged Me behind My back. No matter what unfair treatment I received, over the years I have never taken revenge on anyone who once hurt Me. While some people may have cursed at Me or judged Me, or even said very nasty things about Me, I have never taken revenge on them. What does it mean to not take revenge? What forms of behavior constitute taking revenge? There are many forms of behavior of taking revenge. One kind of revenge would be throwing people’s past misdeeds in their face, letting them know that I now have status, how I felt when they cursed at Me and judged Me in the past, and that now that I have status, it would be all too easy if I wanted to deal with them and take revenge on them. But I have never done that, nor will I. Why will I not do that? I have principles in My heart for treating all kinds of people. If someone’s humanity is bad and they’re an evil person, it’s not a big deal if they hurt Me. But if they disturb the church, harm the interests of God’s house, violate the church’s administrative decrees, violate church principles, or go against work arrangements, since God’s house has administrative decrees, it will naturally handle them. If the brothers and sisters are blind and have no discernment, and want to elect them as a leader, I will fellowship with them on the principles of God’s house for electing leaders. If the brothers and sisters have discernment when it comes to this person, they can ask them to drop out of the election; if they have no discernment and elect them, then let them try being a leader. Once the brothers and sisters have suffered enough, they will naturally be able to discern them and will remove them. In one respect, this allows the brothers and sisters to learn a lesson; they can learn how to discern and know people. In another respect, this is strictly abiding by the administrative decrees of God’s house and the principles of God’s house for handling all kinds of people. And there’s another point here that’s even more important: God’s house, the church, is a place where the Holy Spirit operates, where God holds power; it is the house of God. What does it mean that it’s the house of God? It means that the truth holds power, which in turn means that the truth has the final say here. Everyone who comes to the church has a suitable outcome and destination. Whether anyone is kept, leaves, or stays, whatever environment anyone is in, and how God’s house handles them—God has His timing for all of this. The fact that someone has hurt Me, offended Me, cursed at Me, or framed Me and judged Me behind My back does not count as violating principles in My eyes. Then what is violating principles? It is harming the interests of God’s house and violating the administrative decrees. The truth holds power in God’s house. Sooner or later, evil people will receive retribution; everyone will receive the punishment they deserve according to their deeds. Handling all kinds of people is the church’s business and the work that leaders and workers ought to do; there is no need for Me to do it directly. This is My principle for treating things like this. No matter what anyone has done or said to Me in the past, whether respectful or an affront, whether appropriate or inappropriate, I can treat them fairly. As long as you live the church life in God’s house, or if you’ve only believed in God for a short time and do not understand the truth, and the Holy Spirit’s work has not progressed to that stage, then you can remain in God’s house. Before the time comes to finally announce people’s outcomes, I can wait. I will not use your attitude toward Me alone as sufficient evidence to determine your outcome. Therefore, I will not take revenge on anyone who has ever hurt Me; I will treat them according to principles.
I have come into contact with some people in the church; some of them speak to Me rather impolitely and without respect. Seeing that they had this kind of attitude toward Me, I ignored them. Tell Me, does that mean I had a bad attitude toward them? (No.) Then should I have pruned and disciplined them because of their attitude? I have never actually done such a thing. What ended up happening was that some brothers and sisters couldn’t stand it anymore. They stuck up for Me, saying, “How can this person have this attitude when speaking to God? Cleanse them away!” The brothers and sisters were very indignant. Based on that person’s consistent behavior, they cleansed them away according to the principles. Seeing that the brothers and sisters had cleansed them away, I knew in My heart, “It seems this person’s usual manifestations of humanity aren’t that great. The brothers and sisters would not handle them just because they had a bad attitude toward Me; presumably, this person’s behavior is poor when it comes to most things.” The church was acting according to principles in handling them; I had nothing to say about this. I respect how the brothers and sisters chose to handle it, and I respect their decision. But this respect is not because you handled someone who was impolite to Me—what I respect is the church’s principles for handling people. Tell Me, is this principle of how I treat people correct? (Yes.) When it comes to how to treat people, I have never told local church leaders to handle those who judged Me or verbally insulted Me in the past. On the contrary, if a local church promotes and elects certain individuals among them to be gospel directors or leaders and workers, I do not stand in the way; I give them an opportunity. This is especially true for people in the church of My hometown—they just do whatever duties they ought to do. I have not authorized anyone to take revenge on those who once hurt or offended Me; I have never done a single thing like this. How do I view this in My heart? If such people truly pursue the truth and their dispositions change, there is hope for them to attain salvation. The nasty things they said to Me before were all problems of their humanity, caused by their corrupt dispositions. At that time, they did not understand the truth, and all had vicious dispositions. It was inevitable that they would say some nasty things and do some inappropriate things to those they looked down on. In particular, when those whom they were jealous of or looked down on were promoted, envy, jealousy, and hatred arose in their hearts. Their corrupt dispositions would then dominate them and drive them to act, and they would speak devilish words. This was caused by their corrupt dispositions, and their ambitions and desires. Coupled with the fact that they did not have God-fearing hearts in the slightest, they could say any nasty thing; they would say whatever helped them vent their anger, whatever allowed them to ease their hatred, and whatever allowed them to achieve their goals. No matter what nasty things people have said or what bad things they have done behind My back, if it falls within the scope of the normal revelation of corrupt dispositions and is something God can forgive, then, given that God holds sovereignty over all things, God will give them opportunities, allowing them to be promoted, cultivated, and used, and some people can even be made perfect. However, if these revelations exceed the scope of the corrupt dispositions of normal humanity and are condemned by God, then, given that God scrutinizes all of this, what God will do to these people, or what He will arrange for them and how He will handle them, is up to God. I do not need to worry about this, nor do I need to intervene. Therefore, when I am subjected to some unfair treatment or hear words that attack Me and condemn Me, I feel a bit of sorrow or sadness in My heart, but I will not violate principles to do anything. Not only do I remember these things, but I also look further into these people’s humanity essence that gets exposed through their behavior. However, as to what verdict is ultimately passed on all these behaviors and revelations of theirs, their humanity, and their disposition essence, and what their ultimate outcome will be, I have only one way of handling it: I leave it all to God. This is because God holds sovereignty over all things, everyone’s fate is in God’s hands, and God holds sovereignty over the fates of all people. I do not determine any of your outcomes. Although I can see through to all of this, define and pass verdicts on it in My heart, and have opinions about you in My heart, I never publicly characterize you; I do not do that. If the church wants to handle you, I can offer My opinions, but I do not intervene or stand in the way of the church’s handling of you. At the same time, I do not interfere with God’s Spirit exercising His sovereignty over you. I treat people based on these principles, so the unfair things done to Me and the nasty things said to Me by those who have interacted with Me stop with Me—and don’t go an inch further. What does it mean that they don’t go an inch further? It means that no matter who has said nasty things about Me, bullied Me, insulted Me, or hurt Me, I have never brought it up to anyone, much less taken revenge on them. Some people say, “It’s been many years since then—is it that You’ve forgotten about these people?” In one’s life, there will always be some things that leave a deep impression and can never be forgotten. It’s not that I have forgotten these things, nor is it that I cannot sense them, much less is it that I don’t understand them. I am able to not harbor resentment and to not take revenge because My heart is devoid of such things as resentment and revenge; this has become My principle for how I treat people. One aspect of this principle is treating everyone fairly. The fate of all people is held in God’s hands. Everyone’s outcome and destination are related to what they have done, their manifestations, their attitude toward the truth and toward God, and the path they walk; they are determined by these factors. What anyone has done to Me is not a standard or factor for measuring their outcome and destination. Therefore, when it comes to not taking revenge, the most important point is that I have My principles for how I treat all kinds of people. If you have hurt Me, harmed Me, deceived Me, or even insulted or cursed Me, I will not resort to revenge against you, because taking revenge is not My principle for how I treat people, nor is it the principle God teaches people for how to treat others. Therefore, before God tells people the principles for how to treat others, God also has His own principles for how He treats people. In God’s words, and in all the principles God teaches people, there is no such principle as taking revenge on others. Would you say this is the case? (Yes.) Are the principles by which I handle all kinds of matters and treat all kinds of people in conflict with the truth principles I have fellowshipped over the years? (No.)
God incarnate is able to not take revenge in His normal humanity—is it easy for corrupt humans to do the same? (No.) Why is it not easy? (When interacting with other people, corrupt humans mostly rely on their corrupt dispositions and impetuousness, so they’re quite prone to taking revenge on others.) Corrupt humans have a vicious disposition, so they are unable to refrain from taking revenge. They know what principles God tells people for how to treat others, but they cannot abide by them, because they have a vicious disposition. Even if you have no intention of hurting them when you speak, if you’re not careful and say a single thing that hurts them, they will fly into a rage out of humiliation and want to take revenge on you. They will also try to turn it into a big deal so as to attack you; they will smear and slander you behind your back, and speak ill of you to others, saying how ambitious and devious you are, while that’s actually not the case at all. You merely said something unintentionally that hurt them; you didn’t have any malice, yet they can take revenge on you. You see, isn’t the vicious disposition of people like this frightening? (Yes.) Some people, in order to take revenge on others, can be unreasonable, act shamelessly, and even throw tantrums and kick up a fuss; this is not in accordance with principles. Corrupt humans often act this way, right? How do I act when faced with the prospect of taking revenge? No matter how others treat Me, I do not take revenge on them, nor do I act shamelessly. No matter when, My principles of self-conduct cannot change. I must be reasonable, and I must conduct Myself and do things within the scope of the rationality of humanity. I cannot resort to methods that are devoid of humanity to take revenge on you just because you are irrational and have no humanity; that would be inappropriate. I must hold fast to My job and hold fast to My principles of self-conduct. I will not abandon My principles of self-conduct just because you have no humanity and do not act as a human should. I will still conduct Myself as I ought to; My principles of self-conduct remain unchanged. This is exactly how I acted at home. When it came to things like washing the dishes, tidying up the house, and cleaning, no matter how much others kicked up a fuss or how unreasonable they were, I still did what I was supposed to do, and I never took revenge on anyone because I had received unfair treatment. In the end, what title did the parents give Me? They said I was high-minded. To this day, I remember these words clearly. This is My principle for treating people, and it remains unchanged to this day. Not only did I act this way at home, but later, when I went to various churches and came into contact with brothers and sisters, this principle did not change either. Tell Me, is this determined by humanity essence? (Yes.) Can you achieve this? (No.) It’s difficult, right? You could not achieve it even if you exhausted yourself trying. People just want to fight for their pride and argue their case, yet they forget the boundaries and principles of self-conduct. No one has ever abided by the boundaries and principles of self-conduct. Why does no one abide by them? Because the life within people is devoid of normal humanity and principles. People’s life is their corrupt dispositions, which come from Satan. No matter what you do, the principle that governs and guides your behavior always comes from corrupt dispositions. No matter what reasoning you use or what the basis of your actions is, it all comes from corrupt dispositions. Therefore, interacting with people according to principles is too difficult for corrupt humans. You see, don’t these things in life that I talk about sound very ordinary? But acting this way among corrupt humankind is characterized as being high-minded. This quality of being high-minded is something most people do not even have and cannot attain, much less can they show any deference. They fall too short of being able to interact with others according to principles, for these things are simply not present in corrupt humanity. It’s not that people cannot hold fast to principles, but rather that they have no principles. No matter what you say or do, or what you encounter, your corrupt dispositions are revealed. Your personal preferences, feelings, interests, vanity and pride, longing for fame, gain, and status, your ambitions and desires, and even your desire to take revenge and go after people, all show themselves. These things take charge and govern what you say and do, which shows that your heart is fully occupied by these corrupt dispositions. Thus, when you suffer a loss, you cannot swallow your anger; you insist on fighting to see who comes out on top before you will give up. What happens in the end? In order to win back your pride, restore your dignity, and safeguard your own interests, you will blast through the boundaries of conscience and frantically vie and fight with the other party, and even take revenge unscrupulously, stooping to any low. And when you take revenge, you curse at them until you see red. The more you curse at them, the less you feel it eases your hatred; the more you curse at them, the greater your anger becomes; the more you curse at them, the deeper your hatred grows, and then it’s time to come to blows. Once a physical fight breaks out, enmity is born; the situation becomes unsalvageable, with no way to back out. So, taking revenge is basically the exclusive domain of corrupt humankind. The fact that you can take revenge proves that your conscience and reason have no control over you. Furthermore, some of you simply do not possess conscience and reason. Thus, when you encounter some situation, so long as the other party harms your interests or hurts your pride, not only are you unable to treat them according to principles, but you also unscrupulously take revenge, blasting through the boundaries of conscience and morality to do so, even thinking that your vengeance is particularly justified. You continually replace truth principles and the principles of self-conduct with evil deeds. What you live out is the face and appearance of a devil, yet you still feel that you have won and gained an advantage. In actuality, how does God view this? What kind of behavior and what way of conducting oneself are positive things in God’s eyes, and are recognized by God? This is the most crucial and important thing. On the surface, because some people are very shrewd, are eloquent, know how to safeguard their vanity and pride, know how to find opportunities to take revenge on people, and know how to kick up a fuss and act shamelessly, they never suffer losses no matter what they encounter, and they can enjoy comfort and ease, not having to suffer any pain. They can strike back at whoever provokes them or hurts them, gaining both outward prestige and actual benefits, never allowing their pride to suffer a blow. However, they will never accept the truth or treat people according to principles, and can even do things that blow past the boundaries of conscience and morality. Taking revenge and hurting people in order to safeguard one’s own pride and interests—in God’s eyes, these are all evil deeds. You may have safeguarded your vanity and pride and preserved your fleshly interests, but you’ve never conducted yourself or treated people according to the principles God teaches. So how does God view this? You have never gained God’s approval before Him. You are too shrewd and too much of a schemer. You vie for outward prestige, actual benefits, and personal interests, and fight for your pride. For the sake of safeguarding your vanity and pride, you never take to heart the principles of self-conduct that God teaches you, and never abide by them. Therefore, though some people’s fleshly interests don’t appear to have suffered any loss at all, and it seems they lead a particularly successful, wonderful, and respectable life, they do not have the slightest bit of the life-bestowing truth of God’s words; they have not gained it. They also have no capacity to grasp things; they cannot grasp it and do not understand it. Isn’t this suffering a loss in terms of one’s life? (Yes.) They have not gained the truth, their life has suffered a loss, and God does not bless them, yet they still feel that they are quite smart, and that they haven’t suffered any loss. Such people are the most stupid!
Through the principles by which God incarnate treats people, do you understand the way I conduct Myself in daily life a bit better? (Yes.) Then are you also a bit clearer on what principles you should abide by in treating people? (Yes.) Even if some people think you are weak, cowardly, and easy to push around, and you can feel that they think this way—and this is how they treat you as well—you should still abide by the principle of treating people fairly. If you are able to help them, you should fellowship on the truth to help them; if they are not people who accept the truth, or people who love positive things, you should still treat them correctly according to principles. At all times, speaking in a more holistic sense, I firmly believe that God holds sovereignty over everything and over the fates of all people. I am certain in My heart that the fate of humankind, the fate of each and every person, are in God’s hands, that no one can escape God’s sovereignty and orchestration, and that no one can escape the scrutiny of God’s eyes. Looking at it from a more condensed perspective, God’s house is a place where God’s words hold power and where the truth holds power. To be more specific, God’s house has administrative decrees, the church has regulations, and there are work arrangements in every period. When it comes to how God’s house treats all kinds of people, it will, to the greatest extent possible, handle them according to the truth principles, not letting a single person who ought to be cleared out or handled slip by. Antichrists, evil people, and disbelievers, as well as those who do not love the truth, those with poor humanity, and those who do not pursue the truth, are all targets of elimination in God’s eyes. Sooner or later, these people will be eliminated and cleared out, while those who truly pursue the truth, or who are at least willing to labor for God and have passable humanity, will continue to do the duty of created beings in God’s house. As for the human world, it is subject to God’s sovereignty; as for the church, God’s house has administrative regulations and truth principles. So, in terms of how other people should be treated, these are the two principles to abide by. Are you clear on this aspect? (Yes.) As for coming into contact and interacting with certain people in life, if I encounter some unpleasant situations or if someone says things that are inconsistent with My viewpoints, I will also handle it correctly. If afterward I ponder, reflect on, and get verification about what you said, and determine that it’s right, then I will accept it; if what you said is wrong, I will also treat you according to principles. If there is friction, conflict, or unpleasantness in the process of interacting with you, and it involves the truth, the church’s work, or your corrupt dispositions, I will fellowship with you if the opportunity presents itself, so that you can understand the truth and see clearly the problems that exist within you. If this opportunity never comes up or there’s no need to fellowship on this with you, you may seek on your own, should you be willing to do so. If your disposition is quite arrogant, or if you speak insolently to My face and affront Me, rest assured, I will treat you according to principles. I will absolutely not prune you just because you affront Me or have affronted Me in the past; I would not do such a thing. If you have affronted Me, I must see whether it was intentional or unintentional. If it was unintentional, then I will treat it as if it never happened. I’ll just assume you were being foolish, lacking rationality, and speaking without thinking—once you spoke, you didn’t know what the nature of your words was, and you didn’t know what you were saying; it was just a bunch of nonsense. If it was intentional, however, then I must fellowship and discuss this matter with everyone, to see whether it’s only with Me that you think and act this way, or whether you are hostile toward many people, toward the church, and toward God’s house; I must understand what the specific situation is. If it’s only toward Me that you are hostile, then I will observe you; I will first give you an opportunity to repent, and will also take a look at what kind of person you really are. If, in addition to being hostile toward Me, you are also hostile toward God’s house, the church, and all the brothers and sisters, always wanting to see God’s house become a laughingstock and always wanting to see Me become a laughingstock; if you clap and cheer when the great red dragon and the religious world fabricate baseless rumors about Me, and you even spread them among the brothers and sisters, deliberately slandering Me and misleading the brothers and sisters, then I will also act according to principles. I will not take revenge on you; I will handle you according to the administrative decrees of God’s house, which is fair and reasonable. I will have the leaders and workers look up the administrative decrees, I will have the man used by the Holy Spirit discern and handle this matter, and I will leave how it is ultimately handled to the church and to God’s house. I do things according to principles; rest assured, I treat people with absolute fairness. If someone is a good person who truly believes in God and pursues the truth, they will definitely remain in God’s house. But if someone is an evil person who is hostile toward God’s house and toward God, who is of Satan, and who is an evil demon, God’s house will absolutely not let any such person off. Do you understand? (Yes.) If you fall into the category of antichrists, evil people, evil demons, or servants of Satan, then I will also act according to principles in how I treat you; I will not wrong you. I must understand whether you affronted Me unintentionally, or whether you just have negative opinions and views about Me personally—if it’s because I’m plain-looking, have an ordinary and normal appearance, am not towering, don’t have a prestigious background, come from humble beginnings, and am an ordinary person that you look down on Me and repeatedly affront Me, saying disrespectful things, or if it’s that you have bad thoughts and hostility toward the entire church and God’s house. I must learn about you. After you affront Me, I must see what your attitude is behind the scenes toward the church, toward the brothers and sisters, toward your duty, and toward the various items of work of God’s house. Once I have an accurate understanding of you, I will handle you according to principles. I will absolutely not wrong you; even if you are cleared out, that’s not wronging you. God’s house will absolutely be accurate in its handling of you. But before handling you, I will absolutely not subjectively say on My own, “Cleanse them away from the church!” I will absolutely not do this. I follow the procedures of God’s house to learn about, investigate, handle, and resolve this matter, ultimately making everyone acknowledge that this matter was handled in accordance with principles. You can look at those who have been dismissed from their duties, handled, and cleared out, and see whether the way in which God’s house handled them has anything to do with their attitude toward Me. In addition, some people have believed in God for several years, yet they still speak to Me like nonbelievers. I feel an aversion in My heart when I hear it, but I have not pruned them to their face, nor have I ever gone after them. There are also some people who are young and impetuous, and address whoever they speak to with “hey you,” lacking a sense of propriety, coming off as people who never learned their manners. I haven’t pruned people like this either; I have never done such a thing. In short, regardless of how long you have believed in God, whether you have any foundation, what your humanity is like, what duty you do, or whether I only encountered you once or have interacted with you many times, I more or less grasp and have a certain view of your nature essence, and for certain individuals I even have a characterization of them. That I grasp someone’s nature essence and have a certain view of it does not relate to that person’s outcome, but having a characterization of them does. They have these kinds of manifestations and revelations, so I have principles by which to treat them and a characterization of them. Although I have principles for people and characterize them, have you seen Me handle anyone? I’ve never handled anyone. I await God’s sovereignty and His arrangements. Also, I leave these matters to the church; the church will handle them according to principles. What do you think of My principle for how to treat people? (It aligns with the truth principles; that is, God holds sovereignty over and arranges everything.) That’s right, God holds sovereignty over and arranges everything; everything should be left to God’s sovereignty and arrangements. These principles also involve submitting to the truth and submitting to God’s orchestrations and arrangements. Not only must you have this awareness and this attitude, but you must also act and practice this way.
God incarnate has God’s life, and has the divine essence as His life. Before anything else, the principles, viewpoints, and methods He has in everything He Himself does cannot violate the truth principles. Regardless of what the personality and manner of expression of His normal humanity are like, or what kind of people He lives among, to begin with, the principles He follows cannot violate the truth principles; they are compatible with God’s life and God’s essence. Since God incarnate teaches you how to conduct yourselves, He Himself must be such a person to begin with—it is because He has such living out and such an essence that He can teach you to be such a person. On this point alone, God’s incarnate flesh has sufficient ability and conditions to lead you onto the right path of human life, to lead you onto the path of salvation, and to bring you before God, enabling you to have an attitude and heart of submission to God. If you can practice and gain these words I’ve spoken and these sermons I’ve given, then these words can sufficiently enable you to cast off your corrupt dispositions and become people who fear God and shun evil. God’s incarnate flesh lives in normal humanity and in real life, and although this way of living and form of existence only allow for limited contact with people, the various principles that He follows for how to treat people while interacting with a limited number of people do not contradict or conflict with the principles of self-conduct that God teaches man, but are compatible with them. Therefore, when it comes to the revelations of normal humanity or the revelations of corrupt dispositions of all kinds of people, regardless of whether they are an affront to or an insolence toward Me personally, and regardless of whether they suit My own personality, preferences, or feelings at the time, I can treat everyone correctly. If you always doubt Me, guard against Me, and scheme against Me, or always think I am scheming against you, I can still treat you correctly. No matter what kind of corrupt dispositions you reveal, whether you lie, doubt Me, speculate about Me, guard against Me and always want to avoid Me, or scheme against Me in your heart, I can treat you correctly. I will absolutely not use your methods to take revenge on you—I will not go an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Even if I know what you are thinking, and know how you want to scheme against Me and treat Me, and even if I see that you give Me very unfriendly looks, I can still treat you correctly. Rest assured, I will absolutely not take revenge on you. You might feel that, by not taking revenge on you, I am actually looking for an opportunity to exploit you, and I am scheming against you. You are wrong to think so; you are speculating about Me. I have already told you My principles for how I treat people. Do you understand Me now? (Yes.) So, am I very easy to get along with? Do people find Me easy to deal with? (God treats us with sincerity, so we should be open and honest with God.) This principle is right. But if you cannot be open and honest, tell Me, will I prune you and expose any unsavory things you did in the past? (No.) I will have a bad impression of you in My heart, thinking to Myself that this person is very calculating, speaks haltingly, as if every word has to be squeezed out, and is not straightforward with people. But even if I have a bad impression of you in My heart, I will not go after you. If most people report that you are doing your duty passably well in God’s house, but your disposition is a bit deceitful, you are not straightforward with Me, and you always show off and flaunt yourself in front of Me, I will still be able to treat you correctly and give you opportunities to change over time. I will absolutely not see what corrupt dispositions you reveal and then say, “I can’t tolerate the slightest fault. I can see right through whatever corrupt dispositions you have at a glance. If you do not believe Me, I will expose what you are thinking in your heart, and you can see if I am right.” I do not do these things. I correctly treat the various manifestations of people’s corrupt dispositions—including those revealed in their speech, their behavior, and in their thoughts and views. If you are someone who pursues the truth and loves positive things, you will gradually change these corrupt dispositions and states of yours according to the truth principles. If you are not someone who pursues the truth, it would be useless to even forcibly water you; you will not change. No matter how polite and courteous you are to Me in My presence, it is of no use—it is no substitute for you practicing the truth or submitting to the truth. Regardless of whether you are polite or impolite to My face, I will treat you correctly. In the past, there were some people who, because of their small stature and lack of understanding of the truth, revealed many corrupt dispositions when they interacted and communicated with Me, and they also exhibited much rebelliousness and resistance. But afterward, they felt remorse and turned themselves around, and a few years later, they understood some truths and changed. By chance, God’s house promoted them again. When I heard they had been promoted, I was quite happy in My heart. You see, I do not hold grudges, do I? (You do not.) I can still treat them correctly. I do not say, “Before, you were disrespectful to Me, you did not listen to anything I said, and you did so many things that hurt My feelings. Now you have been promoted again. I have to let you know that I know all those things you did before; don’t think I have forgotten them.” I do not do these things. Instead, I comfort them, saying, “Pursue earnestly. Do not have any mental baggage.” When people have small stature and do not understand the truth, they will all reveal rebelliousness, because people live under the control of corrupt dispositions, and those who do not have the truth holding power in their hearts cannot take charge of themselves, saying and doing things despite themselves. This is what people who live by corrupt dispositions are like. Therefore, do not have any mental baggage in your pursuit of the truth. I will absolutely not view any person, or any race of people, through a tinted lens. I do not look at your level of education, or your past. I only look at your humanity essence and your pursuit, as well as your attitude toward the truth, your attitude toward God, and your attitude toward your duty. If you were once perfunctory in doing your duty, and caused some losses to God’s house or even committed evil deeds that caused disruptions and disturbances while doing your duty, although those things are vivid in My mind and imprinted in My memory, I will not be influenced or misguided by those things in how I view you. I will take a comprehensive view of you; I will view you according to the truth principles, looking at how you do your duty and treat your duty now, and whether you are still perfunctory as you once were. In the past you could not safeguard the interests of God’s house, acting overly cautious and trying to be a people pleaser. Have you turned yourself around and changed now? Can you put some truths into practice according to the truth principles? You used to always covet fleshly comfort; can you endure hardship now? Have you been expending yourself sincerely? Can you seek the truth in the course of doing your duty? Do you have a bit of loyalty and sincerity? Have you made progress and changed compared to before? These are the things I look at. If you were always perfunctory, indulged in comfort, and did not safeguard the interests of God’s house in the past, and you are still like this now, then I will not have any favorable feelings toward you in My heart. If you were like that in the past, then although I had a bad impression of you, now that you have changed, I am quite happy. And I’ll even comfort you, saying, “Pursue like this from now on. In the past, your stature was too small, you were young and immature, and you just ran amok doing bad things; these are all lessons for you. You should pursue the truth to resolve your perfunctoriness and your evil deeds, and then you will have truly changed.” I will comfort and encourage you. If it were those evil people, seeing that you have changed, they would be jealous of you and hate you. They would not be polite to you, saying, “I must expose the unsavory things you did in the past and show people how hideous you were before. Don’t assume I don’t know about all this!” You see, corrupt humans just like to act smart, play petty tricks, make their presence felt, expose people’s shortcomings, and dig up people’s unsavory pasts. I truly never do such things. I never say such things to people. I simply try to encourage and soothe them, so that they feel peace in their hearts and feel that pursuing the truth is good. When I see that they’ve changed a bit, I must encourage them, letting them know they have made progress, and giving them some motivation and confidence. Tell Me, in treating people this way, am I acting within principles? (Yes.) Do I act out of naturalness or out of impetuousness? (No.) Some people say, “Is it that You have a bad memory? Maybe You don’t care about these things? Or You’re naturally broad-minded?” Tell Me, does this have anything to do with personality, being broad-minded, or memory? (No.) Even if a person is naturally broad-minded and has a fine personality, if they live under the control of corrupt dispositions, they still cannot treat people according to principles or give people opportunities to embark on the right path; they could not achieve this. At most, corrupt humans will say, “I will not expose your shortcomings; otherwise people would laugh at me.” They do this for the sake of pride and due to the pressure of public opinion in the world, worrying that conducting themselves that way would make them look petty and lacking in magnanimity. It’s only to safeguard their own pride that they refrain from exposing people’s shortcomings, but can they point out some right paths for people? (No.) For the majority of people, it’s already quite good if they can refrain from taking revenge—asking them to help other people or wish them well is beyond them. At most, they feel, “Whether you do well or not has nothing to do with me.” Some people proclaim, “I am a modest person of virtue; I cannot take revenge on people,” but in their hearts they think, “Would that things go poorly for you. If you do well, I’ll feel uncomfortable inside. I’ll be happy when the day finally comes that you die!” Their words are full of benevolence, righteousness, and morality, but their hearts are sinister and vicious. They say nothing but nice-sounding things, while their hearts are more malicious than anyone’s. This is called having a tongue of honey and a heart of gall; it’s called being a hypocrite. You see, can corrupt humans manage to treat other people based on the truth principles? Corrupt humans think one thing and do another. Outwardly, to make themselves look respectable, refined, and noble, they say some nice-sounding things, but they do not think that way in their hearts, and secretly do things to trip others up. Therefore, when it comes to the way nonbelievers treat people, even if they don’t take revenge on you, they won’t wish well for you either. The way they treat people does not accord with the truth principles. When they see you doing well, they feel uncomfortable and jealous in their hearts; when they see you doing poorly, if they get the chance, they will rub salt in your wounds or even kick you a few times, and only then will they feel their hatred eased. It’s hard enough for them to refrain from taking revenge—it’s even more difficult for them to manage being principled toward people; they do not possess such humanity.
God incarnate became an ordinary person. In His daily life, the way He treats people is at the very least within the bounds of conscience and reason; it will absolutely not fall below this standard, and can only be above it. It goes without saying that God incarnate treats people according to the truth principles. Because He has the divine essence, He is even more capable of treating you according to the truth principles, and will absolutely not go after you. It’s just like how God’s house treats all kinds of people—dismissing leaders and workers at all levels, adjusting people’s duty assignments or dismissing them, cleansing away all kinds of people, and so on, are all carried out according to principles, not decided based on anyone’s preferences; these decisions are agreed upon by the majority of people in the church. So the truth absolutely holds power in God’s house; this is true. Even people with normal humanity can do things in a way that conforms to the standard of conscience possessed by normal people, and when truth principles are involved, they can still abide by the standards of the conscience and reason of normal people—how much more so is this true for the normal humanity worn by God incarnate. Regarding matters involving the church’s work, the duties you do, and your corrupt dispositions, He is all the more able to treat you according to principles. When it comes to how I, this ordinary and normal person, interact and come into contact with you, no matter how I fellowship the truth or what kind of problems I handle, tell Me, is this normal humanity of Mine worthy of your trust? (Yes.) Do you need to build a line of defense to guard against Me? (No.) So let Me tell you this: When speaking and interacting with Me, you just need to be open and honest. No matter how much I know about you or what it is I know about you, I will treat you according to principles. No matter what attitude you have toward Me, I will still treat you according to principles. You can rest assured; there is no need to guard against Me. Leaving aside My divine essence and divine life, just the humanity essence possessed by this normal and practical side of Me, this ordinary person, is something you can trust. No matter what it is we’re discussing, you should not have a complicated mentality. You just need to be simple and open. If you’re facing any difficulties, just talk about them directly. There’s no need to guard against Me like you were guarding against a stranger. If you always guard against Me, then there’s one thing I’m going to tell you: You are too stupid, and you are blind! Do you not know what work I do? The more you guard against Me, the less able you will be to gain the truth in the end. Is this not holding yourself back and ruining yourself? If you always doubt and guard against God’s incarnate flesh, and no matter how He speaks and fellowships the truth, you always maintain an attitude of scrutiny, not accepting what He says even if you do acknowledge that it is the truth, then not only will the Holy Spirit not enlighten or bless you, but on the contrary God will hide His face from you and ignore you. If you do not believe Me, just try it and see if this is the case. If you have no principles when interacting with Me, this ordinary person with normal humanity, you do not know how to interact with Me, and you do not know how to treat Me according to the principles God teaches you, then wouldn’t you treat the God in heaven the same way? (Yes.) If you interact with the God in heaven in the same way, what will the consequences be? (We will be condemned and struck down.) You are wrong again. God does not arbitrarily strike people down. However, you will never have the opportunity to see God’s true form, nor will you ever be qualified to; this is a fact. You will never be qualified to see God’s true form—you will not even be able to see God’s back. What does this mean? It means that God will never acknowledge you as His created being. What did it mean that Job saw Jehovah’s back? What did it mean that Abraham heard God’s own voice speaking to him? (God approved of them.) It meant that they were qualified to converse with God, to converse with the God in heaven, with His true form, with the Spirit of God. God recognized and accepted them as created beings. God acknowledged them as created beings. God gained them. The significance of this is so profound! God was willing to see them and willing to converse with them. God was willing to let them hear the sound of His voice speaking from heaven. God was willing to let them see His spiritual body, to manifest it to them. What a great blessing this is for human beings! This is a tremendous honor! Do you seek this? You might not dare to seek it, but you must have this wish. So how should you practice to realize this wish? First, start your practice with the way you treat the incarnate God, this ordinary and normal person. How should you interact with Him and treat Him? When you see Him in His tangible form, if you can interact with Him normally, accept everything about Him, be open and honest with Him, and have no barriers or difficulties in interacting and associating with Him, then before God—at least in My eyes—I will be willing to interact with you; I will not feel repulsed by you. Then you might have the opportunity and be qualified to hear God’s voice, to hear God’s own voice speaking from heaven, and to see God’s figure. Of course, right now you are still far from this goal; I am just giving you a path. If you cannot even pass this hurdle that I, this ordinary person, present, yet you want to see the God in heaven, there’s one thing I’ve got to tell you: Fat chance! That is truly wishful thinking!
Alright, let’s end our fellowship here for today. Goodbye!
