320 Your Words and Deeds Are Filthy in God’s Eyes
Intro
God’s effort in working on you is so great,
yet when have you heeded His words?
Where have you bowed to Him?
Why do you provoke Him?
Verse 1
Don’t you know God saw you stealing
and coveting His possessions,
taking sacrifices straight from the altar?
How could you escape God’s wrath,
cheating and committing heinous sins?
How could your evil doings and words
escape His chastisement?
Chorus
In the eyes of the Almighty,
your words and actions are filthy.
Your unrighteousness is seen
as unrelenting chastisement.
How could God’s righteous
chastisement and judgment
ever depart from you?
Verse 2
How could you escape
God’s chastising and curses,
since you make Him sorrowful and wrathful?
You’ve long since left God seething
and long tried His patience.
You’ve done much damage,
reducing His flesh to rags.
Chorus
In the eyes of the Almighty,
your words and actions are filthy.
Your unrighteousness is seen
as unrelenting chastisement.
How could God’s righteous
chastisement and judgment
ever depart from you?
Bridge
God has endured till now,
tolerant of you no longer.
How could your heart be so
callous and hardened now?
How could your evil today
escape the day of wrath
following God’s departure from earth?
Chorus
In the eyes of the Almighty,
your words and actions are filthy.
Your unrighteousness is seen
as unrelenting chastisement.
How could God’s righteous
chastisement and judgment
ever depart from you?
