In today's episode, we're covering the story of Lin Hui, a Christian from Mianyang City, Sichuan Province who was arrested by the CCP police, and nearly died due to interrogation under torture. On August 26, 2008, Lin Hui was in a taxi when she was arrested by the police and subsequently taken to a secret interrogation location. The police repeatedly interrogated her about church information and smashed her head with a frozen bottle of water. … At noon on August 28, the police took Lin Hui to the Criminal Investigation Brigade for interrogation. There, they constantly pressed her to divulge the whereabouts of church offerings and subjected her to interrogation under torture. Lin Hui's hands were handcuffed behind her back, and three officers were punching and kicking her. One of them, who'd trained in martial arts for four years at the police academy, pounded her left shoulder with over 30 punches in a row. The captain of the National Security Brigade also kept slapping her hard across the head and face and violently punching her in the head. During all this, Lin Hui was knocked over again and again, only for the captain to viciously kick her in the legs each time and force her to stand back up. Later, the captain landed a heavy punch right on her left breast. She was knocked to the floor once again, shaking all over from the pain … After this torture, Lin Hui's face was bruised and swollen, her left breast had turned dark purple, and she had multiple bruises on her legs. Her jaw joint was severely injured, her left collarbone was fractured, and her left shoulder was dislocated. She also had four hairline cracks in her left front ribs and at least two misaligned thoracic vertebrae. Lin Hui was once in critical condition, but later miraculously survived. On January 9, 2009, Lin Hui was sentenced to a year and a half of reeducation through labor. After completing her term and being released, Lin Hui continued to suffer from the lasting effects of her torture, which proved difficult to treat.
