Gaël Mimbegue used to be a Christian pastor in Cameroon. For years, his goal in his faith and the core message of his sermons was "breaking free from sin and achieving sanctification." But the more he pursued sanctification, the more he realized that he remained stuck in the bondage of sin. There was a huge disconnect between what he practiced and what he preached. Faced with the widespread problem of sin in both himself and the church, he searched desperately for answers: He combed through the Bible, visited different churches for help, fasted and prayed for 21 days straight, and he even went 72 hours without food or water, crying out to the Lord in tears all night. … But he still couldn't break free of the vicious cycle of sinning and confessing over and over again. He even started to doubt: "Has God spurned me? Do I still have any hope of entering the kingdom of heaven?" Just when he had sunk into total despair and saw no way out, an unexpected experience changed his life. He finally found the answers to the questions that had troubled him for years, he figured out the root cause of why people keep sinning even after believing in the Lord and having their sins forgiven, and he found the path to break free from sin and be cleansed.
