The slander from the world and rejection from his family did not change his dedication to expend for God. He had believed that as long as he kept paying a price, expending himself, and preaching the gospel and gaining more people, he would ultimately be saved by God and survive the great catastrophes. However, a sudden illness struck him, with even the risk of paralysis. He felt wronged, became negative, and began to harbor complaints toward God, regretting his past sacrifices and expenditures. In his pain, he read God's words, reflected on himself, and sought the truth. What gains did he ultimately receive?
