English Christian Song | "You Should Understand God’s Will"

August 18, 2021

What you’ve inherited this day

surpasses that of the prophets

and apostles through the ages

and even Moses and Peter.

Blessings can’t be had in a day or two;

they must be earned through sacrifice.

You must have love that’s been through refinement,

you must have faith and many truths

that God requires you to gain.

Face justice and remain unyielding,

have a persistent love for God,

have resolve, change your disposition,

heal your corruption, accept what God plans,

don’t complain but obey till death.

Attain this; it is God’s final aim,

it’s what God asks of you.

All God’s work is done for your sake,

to make you worthy of what He will bestow.

It’s not for the sake of God’s glory

but rather for your salvation,

and for perfecting those people

who’ve been profoundly afflicted in the unclean land.

You should understand the will of God.

God gives to you, so He’ll ask in return,

and will make fitting demands.

This shows why God’s work, time and again,

is so rigorous and exacting.

This is why you should be filled with faith.

All God’s work is done for your sake,

to make you worthy of what He will bestow.

It’s not for the sake of God’s glory

but rather for your salvation,

and for perfecting those people

who’ve been profoundly afflicted in the unclean land.

You should understand the will of God.

He exhorts the ignorant masses,

those who have no sense or insight:

Do not test God, resist no more.

God has endured suffering like no man,

and even more shame in man’s place.

What else are you unable to let go?

What could be more important than God’s will?

What could be higher than God’s love?

God’s work in this foul land is hard enough,

and if man chooses to transgress,

the work of God will have to take longer.

God is not bound by time in the least;

His work and His glory come first.

God will pay any price for His work,

no matter how long it takes.

This is the disposition of God:

He won’t rest till His work is done.
